Tylor's Essen Shopping List!
Transcript
Hi, let's talk about five games I'm excited to buy at Essen this year. Starting with Dino Museum. This is a set collection game from Eric Lang and Ben Rosset. It is essentially just trying to get the best, most impressive fossil collection. And it looks pretty sweet, plays in like 30 minutes, and I'm excited to see what it has. Next up we have a two-player game called Bologna and it is a basically you're taking the roles of rival families to be the best there is. It is an abstract strategy game. It's a city building and area majority type esque vibe, but the components look really amazing and I want to know more. Next up on the heavier side of games we have this one called -60 and it's a based in Antarctica. You're a research team trying to make your way to this meteorite site and you are going to be doing that through a bunch of different strategy decisions. I believe it's like a deck building game and resource management game. It's got me very intrigued. Another one on the heavier side is Carl von Linné. This one follows Carl Linnaeus and it is a strategy board game set in the early 18th century.
Basically just doing the work and exploration that Carl did. You're going to be going through different regions, researching different specimens, very scientific. I'm hoping I can learn a couple things from this one. Okay, last on my list, certainly not least, is a game called Planet B. This is from one of my favorite designers, Simone Luciani, and it is essentially going to be where you're placing tiles and you're making an ecosystem. It is got a beautiful art. It's on the lighter side probably. It says on BGG that it only takes about 30 minutes to play, but it's beautiful. I am looking forward to this design and the tiles look gorgeous. There you go. Five games I'm excited to buy at Essen. Let me know what games you're intrigued about and what games you might be looking forward to getting if you're going.
Look at this. It just follows me around. This is a fun little toy that we just got.
