Heat. Heat.
Good afternoon everybody. Welcome to the Dice Tower. I'm Tom Vassel.
I'm Z Garcia.
And I'm Camila.
It is a crowd surfing episode and we are here to talk about games that are on Kickstarter and Gamefound and Backer Kit. And before we do that, we want to say thank you to some of those of you who backed us for Gamefound. As a side note, we're getting our promos in and we might even be able to ship our stuff before December. That's looking good.
Oh, I hope so.
Over promise.
No, no, no. I'm saying I hope so. I say like I will have a heart attack.
Switch that.
I promise.
All right. We want to say thank you to some of those backers. We want to say thank you to Anders from Kungbaka, Sweden.
Love it.
To the Eagle Owl Mountain Board Game Society in Sweden. Give us an Oho.
Eagle. Eagle.
Oho. Oh my god.
The Chesname Group and the LTN crew to Chaucsers tossers
to
it says it should rhymeers tossers. Yep.
It's Chaucer.
What do you toss?
I I don't think we should go to Let's move on.
I have a series to Thor Solarund and Liam and Logan
Kurchinwitz.
Oh, that's awesome.
That was good. That was well done. It says it right there. But yeah, you nailed it.
Oh,
these are a lot like you got a lot of foreign names to us, foreign to us names today. And I think you did very well.
So many people give me very specific pronunciations.
I think my favorite is the it should rhyme. I'm not going to phonetically tell you how to say this. It just it should rhyme. If it doesn't, you're wrong.
You did it wrong.
Which way do you rhyme it? Don't worry. Just make it rhyme.
We just got back from Dice from Gen Con. I don't know why I've always said Dice East, but then Gen Con
Dice Tower booth at Gen Con. And I'll tell you what, I had a great time at Gen Con and we'll talk more about Gen Con in the future,
but I am tired. Gen Con was exhausting and so it shall be nice
to go to a a more relaxing game oriented gaming convention like Dice West.
Man, I'm not struggling.
You're It's Chauers.
Dice Hour West. The Las Vegas Board Gaming Convention.
Yes. Tickets are available now. In fact, early bird pricing. You want to get it in? you do
before that runs out in September. So, order your tickets, come play games with us at Dice West in Las Vegas this coming March.
You have this month basically for early bird. Is that right? September 1st.
Yes,
that's it. So, get it now. Don't wait. Don't hesitate. It rhymes.
Commit.
So, Crowd Surfing is a show where we talk about board games that are on Kickstarter and Game Found. And we often do all kinds of things, but today is going to be a shorter one than normal because it's a shorter week for us than normal. And There's not a lot of projects. So, I mean, there is a lot of projects, but we talk about projects that are ending in the next week or so.
Yeah.
Do we have a video for uh
That's true. We're sponsored by Gamefound, and so we like to push and talk about one of the projects on Gamefound. So, here we go. Today, we're taking a look at Garden Dragons from BA Games, from David and Sam Stockton, and art from Naomi Van Duran. The great migrations of dragons is coming. You need to prepare to fulf
Dragons. This is a game where you'll be laying down tiles of flowers while at the same time collecting these dragons. It's an easy tole learn game here where you'll be collecting flower tiles, putting them on a field, and then collecting them, fortifying your area. This is available on Gamefound right now. You can get some with some nice wooden helpers and nice components, or you can upgrade to get a more deluxe version of it. All of this is available on Gamefound now. Garden Dragons.
All right, speaking of dragons, our first project has a dragon in the picture.
This is the 2026 annual Robins Nerds supplies. That's a lot of S's in a row. Dice advent calendar.
Yeah, this is um
advent calendar. So, you're getting dice that you don't know what's coming, right? Is the idea. They show you a few of the dice there, and they look pretty cute. I I'm not a big fan of like random oneoffs when it comes to dice. if they were all D20s maybe or like a a special D6 with a funky side.
The flip side of this is that you have those ones that are u like one die at a time, one day at a time I should say, you end up getting a like a D and D set or a role playing set.
But those are less exciting because once I've seen one, I know the next like six or so. You know what I mean? Like
or even if they're random, it's like, you know, a week later you're like, oh yeah,
that one matches this one. I've seen it already. I the 1 oz is kind of a neat idea, especially if you're someone who just likes random dice or you want to fill fill a bowl or something with dice. Yeah.
Yeah. I agree. I I like the idea more than I actually like it.
It almost feels like a sales pitch than anything else.
They're trying to get you to open one and you go, "Oh, I like that color. Now order the whole set."
Right.
Oh, that's true. It's like a sampler thing. That's not a bad idea.
Or if you get the advent calendar, you get a discount code for the rest of the set. You know, something like that. But then there has to be like the D20 is the one that's in the advent calendar and then they send you the rest without D20 cuz if it's like okay which one do you have? Which other do I need to send? Like that'd be a logistical nightmare.
I would assume everyone's set would be the same. You'd be have
they need to
I hope so.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Milrat pack. Four games made for game night. Four original games in one box. Well, sort of. It's still four boxes that are just in one. This very similar to the boxes that the uh plate does, right?
Yeah, a little bit. They give you that container and there's a few other companies that have tried this whole, you know, put put a few games together. Uh I will say this, the I watched the video on the explanation of these games and and I think this is a brand new company, by the way. A couple of guys are the designers behind this.
The games are pretty unique for the most part. They sound pretty outside the box. There's one that's a a racing game. Yeah. That sounds, you know, it sounds okay. It sounds like something I've definitely seen before, but many of them seemed very interesting, very like fresh.
I will say I I I unfortunately am not interested in any of these games. They didn't sound like something that is up my alley at all. But especially for being a first time with appears to be a first-time publisher putting it out, this is incredibly well done. Reading the descriptions on the page, a brief how to play, you know what you're getting. And I really think they hit the nail on the head of this is how these are each unique. This is the pack. This is what it covers. I mean, just quick, succinct, and giving that unique feel to each game. I I was really really impressed with this page and the information delivery uh for the four for the four games.
Yeah, I agree. I think they're very interesting. I mean,
the phone one sounds pretty clever. I mean, that's like, you know, it's kind of like a Dixit type game.
Yeah. but with a random photo on your phone. Yeah. And then everybody puts out their phone in a in a space
and trying to guess what they're all trying to tell you
among these pictures over here. Oh, you're trying to point me to this one.
Yeah,
that seems cool. I mean weird.
I like the deduction where Y is not a vow.
Kind of the hiding like, oh, pretend you
pretend you're one of the one of the vowels. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. They sound They sound strange but clever. And that Y will take the place of I in our next game. Pirates the Golden Age.
That's a segue right there. Segue.
Well done.
I got to say if your game is called Pirates with a Y, I'm not as afraid of you. I don't know why. If I know the pirates with Y, I like
I think we could sit fight them all.
Take them.
So they push that this is like based on historical facts. pirates. Does it have a Y historically? Like am I as ignorant as I feel right now?
That way. It might have been spelled that way. Yeah, I don't know.
Okay.
I know there is a I have seen the word pirat with a Y and no E at the end and that might be like a pirate spelling somewhere in the world.
I got to say this. If you're going to go not fantasy pirates, real history, real stakes, and then shows a picture of people WHO ARE CLEARLY NOT REAL pirates with makeup and
they got way too many teeth.
Come on, don't tell me it's real pirates. Did that show me a picture of people who are roleplaying fantasy pirates?
No, those are very real pirates.
Yeah, you don't know. Don't judge by its cover, Tom.
I'm This is an interesting looking game. I can't tell.
Okay, then you're reviewing it. [clears throat] Well, I'm just like it looks open. They're they're saying it's like an open uh you know, kind of sandboxy sort of game. You're moving around. You're trying to gather as much money as possible and then get back to Nassau before like the somebody shows up who's going to pardon the pirates. And if you're not there, you're done.
You can't win at all.
Like I'm liking the ideas, but looking at the game, moving around, going here, doing a thing. I don't know. Oh, the game doesn't look very visually striking or interesting, but it might be it might be a good game. I I I like the idea.
It's just again, no visual appeal, which is probably why they had to dress up a bunch of people and put him in a in the belly of a pirate, you know, a ship and and make it look really interesting.
Was that Bonsator in the pictures? I didn't even know.
I didn't even realize that was Bonsenator.
In the video, you see them all also. Um
Yeah. Yeah.
All right. Battle Stations Light Speed. So, Battle Stations is a gigantic game from Guerilla Games. Uh, that is half RPG, half space war game, half run around on a ship and blow things up. It is a lot. It is huge games.
Um, so now there's a faster standalone game,
I think.
Yeah, he's saying it's very, very quick. He's saying it's going to be like set up in five minutes and start. Um,
it's under it plays in under an hour, I think it said, right? It was like 60 minute play.
I got to say though, that doesn't look quick.
I think it is compared to Battle Stations.
Oh,
which is a must own game. Some people have said
no, not Tom though, right? What did he say?
Yeah, it wasn't. Uh, I said I really enjoyed it a lot. I know you like the game. It's definitely one that hasn't aged. I mean, it's fine. It just it's such a lifestyle game that I wouldn't not want to get into it. I liked a lot of things. I liked that his aliens were not all
bipedal. I'm a human, but I have a different nose. No, they were very different aliens. You know, that was interesting and unique. And I also like the fact that you could do anything.
I'm fighting your ship and then I shoot a little guy and he lands on your ship. Then I go around, we start fighting on your ship.
That's kind of cool.
Okay.
But it also has a lot of rules.
Okay.
It's a big epic game. And if but if this manages to really give you that feeling in an in an hour or so with very little rules overhead,
then that's cool. It's a good on boarding.
Sound like a good experience kind of game and, you know, I'm I'm all for that, you know.
All right. O Oasis Tactical Salvage Reclamation. It took me a second to realize this was a miniatures game because I jumped right into the video and the video was well done. But then when I scrolled down, saw some of the pictures, I'm like, "Oh, this is a miniatures game, right?
It looks great thematically.
This looks really cool. I love the logo. I love the theme. This idea of like a portal that opens up in space,
people go through whatever, but then it just turns off at some random point." And it's like now it's like um
we're here. There's only salvage left. And immediately people get into conflict. Like it's a cool sci-fi setting.
I I don't care for miniatures games.
If I was going to play a miniatures game though, this is this is a good looking one.
Oh, this is a theme you like a lot.
Yeah, this is a cool
cuz it has the the sci-fi vibe obviously space opera look and then the dwindling resources post-apocalyptic bend to it a little bit. Yeah,
I'm digging that.
Yeah, it's cool.
This is one I would definitely try.
All right. Keyforge shattered reality. Look at that. It's a rat fighting a dragon
as they
or is it a bear?
I think it's a rat.
Maybe like a wolverine.
His ears are like batwing like
Yeah. Yeah.
I'm not really sure what that is.
The next chapter of Keyforge tears reality apart. So Keyforge is a game where every single deck is unique to you and the entire universe. There'll never be a repeat of your deck. There's different factions. You have three factions in your deck and they add and subtract factions from
They do. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Some factions. Not that it really matters, I don't think.
Yeah. No, some factions like cycle out, some new ones cycle in. They've introduced new ones and then, you know, benched some of them and they've brought some back. They do have this new mechanism, this grafting mechanism where you tuck cards under other ones for fun and profit. That sounds good. Um, you know, it's it's it's hard to talk about Key Forge with any sort of authority because both Tom and I have kind of been out of it for a while.
It's a deep well at this point.
It's very Yeah. Yeah. I mean, Ghost Galaxy really has kept this going uh in a in a tremendous way and it does well. You know, this has 170,000 or so. It'll it'll do well.
I didn't notice them pushing it that much at Gen Con, though. They were showing off their um Lord of the Rings confrontation.
Yeah.
A few other
They always have their decks there. You know, they have a very small booth there to be fair.
Uh but yeah, it does well and and it sounds like like a neat set. I do enjoy the sounds of every set sounds interesting. myself. Like if I've been out now for a while, for for long enough that I feel like I would jump on here and maybe buy like two decks of the last four sets or so
cuz it's all interchangeable, right? You can you can play any deck against any deck. That's cool. That's cool.
Um
it's just like it's that kind of thing, you know? You get a little taster after a while, which is cool. Yeah, it sounds good.
Towers of Yoma. Amazing. Wait, amazing. Amazing.
Amazing
tower defense maze in it.
Yeah,
this is interesting. This is you're kind of it's a tower tower defense, right? But you are erecting different towers around and moving and kind of creating a maze to keep the bad guys to get to their location. Um because there's a lot of their their mess in them and things like that. So they're going to have their programs they're following. So you're trying to put these obstacles in the way. I thought that was interesting. It's a tower defense where there is a tower that you are making it difficult to get to. You know, yes, there's going to be battles and that kind of stuff, but it's like anti-programming, you know, is what you're trying to do is like put obstacles in their way.
Yeah, I thought that was really unique. I thought that was interesting.
Well, the guy was talking about in the video how like tower defense games translate well to board games. They've been done quite a bit, but that the second part of a tower defense game, the waiting for the guys to march up to you and the towers or whatever you're putting in the way automatically kills them, that part is boring in a board game. like, "Okay, sure. Kind of understand that." And so there's they're they're implementing then a deck building aspect to it.
Where part of the game is putting the towers in place, putting your your things that will defend you in place, and then part of it is building a deck and playing.
Yeah.
To shoot from those things, I guess, to whatever.
It sounds interesting. I like the look of it a lot. I thought the
I like these dice robots on the
Yeah, the dye goes on the little legs. That's fun.
Well, I love seeing games where it's not I mean, innovation is two things, right? it's you're making something new or you're putting things together in a new way and this has that innovative feel where it is the deck building meets programming tower defense you know kind of a combo of of mechanisms we already know so yeah I think this was really intriguing
and then of course innovation always you know has to be careful not to fall prey to being clunky
right
it's okay to be you know in innovative but but but problematic is not a good thing no one's going to really want to engage with that and this looks pretty straightforward
the artwork's interesting I like it. But I will say there's a lot of artwork. I What I mean by that is each picture is a lot. You have to like really look carefully to see the stuff.
Busy artwork, right?
Yeah. There's just so much going on in each picture. It's cool and I hope it's good. What else have these guys done?
I don't know. I did not think
Hy. That's the only one they got here on Game Found.
Okay.
It looks cool, man.
But it almost looks like another company, but
yeah. Hm.
Well, the look of this game looks like that one game from inside up.
Yes.
Lost block and key or whatever.
Yes, it does.
Oh, yes. Yes. Yes.
Also, I want to be that pig.
Done.
All right. Echo. Echo. Echo bound adventures. A co-op sandbox where each expedition. Every expedition changes the world you return to. This is from Open Al Studios. They've made quite a few games or nine different things. Let's take a look what else they've done.
They are. They're really um
Oh, these are these people. What am I thinking of? Yes, we just played.
They're definitely ones that I keep an eye on. The story.
The only reason we haven't
Sprites and Sprouts. I haven't heard of that. Close it.
Close it.
I really hate when uh the only reason we haven't um done uh
Myth.
Oathbound yet.
Oh,
which one's
Oathbound?
Did I say Oathbound?
Stone Saga.
Stone.
The only reason we haven't done Stone Saga is we just haven't played it enough. But I mean I think they so Mythwind I was
okay with it didn't feel like it was an interesting game but it didn't the game was the game wasn't that great actually.
It's kind of like Stardew Valley the board game but with that came that feeling of I'm just kind of
there's no progression towards anything really tangible.
But they fixed that in Stone Saga. Stone Saga the progression is pretty strong. It's like you now discovered a bow and arrow and you I mean they really have a lot of
well and it takes the mini gamess out of the individual player and puts it into the games. You want to go fishing that's a mini game, not I'm playing a farmer and that's my mini game, you know. So the mini game in in the game
and Storyfold was uh one of our nominees this year for I think best art. [clears throat] Really good art.
So good. What a good story. Definitely reminds me like Aie the video game uh you know something like that. Oh so good. So, these guys know how to make this style game. And I'll tell you this, if nothing else, I promise you the components are going to be amazing.
Yeah,
I think this game looks fantastic. I I think it looks a little bit It's got a little bit of that exploration with the cards like you would get in a Seventh Continent type game or something like that. It is a campaign, but they're saying the campaign is like 16 hours or something like that, which is great. I'm I'm happy with that. I do not need a $100 camp I mean $100 campaign or a 60 hour campaign. Give me something where I can see the end goal. This is not the rest of my life. You know, I want to enjoy it, but then at some point I do want to move on.
The whole thing looks really neat. Uh it seems to have a lot of charm, a lot of story packed into it. Cool world. Uh yeah. Yeah. And these guys, again, I I looked at the whole thing and then I like, "Wow, what company is this?" I scroll down and I see Open. I'm like, "Got it done." Okay.
Yeah. I had the opposite journey. I saw Open Ale and I'm like, "All right, I'm already 90% there." Yeah.
And then I started looking at it and you know what they're doing. It's really good.
Stag. If someone invites you to a stag party, this would be a very different one than you would be expecting.
Maybe if they make a party game version of it. Yeah.
A simultaneous strategy game about beetles. Now, this one's doing incredibly well for a game about beetles.
I was from stone games. And they have done that. So they they're sticking in this like hyperfocused pinpoint like part of nature, right? It's not like nature, it's mushrooms specifically. It's not insects, it's you know this beetles specifically, you know. Um
they clearly have a look and a vibe there. Games My Celia and this both look very similar to me.
Yeah, I was I was It seems very abstract. I I don't know. As I was looking at this, I was I wasn't gleaning a whole lot of gameplay from it. And of course, you know, they have gameplay videos on there, but I don't watching a video is like the last part of my It's not how you get me into it. It's like that's my last. Okay, I'm ready to back. Let me just make sure. Um, so I mean go down that, but
it looks clinical.
I Yeah,
myia looks clinical and it plays clinical. It's a mean,
vicious game that I don't feel brings out the theme that strongly. I don't like myelli actually.
I wish I liked it more. I like this theme better. The stag beetles. I find them to be interesting. I don't necessarily want to pick one up, but I'm not afraid of like I'm like that's cool.
You would poke one, but you wouldn't grab.
No, we went to like the zoo and they're like, "Do you want to hold it?" I was like, "No, but my daughter will." So, she held it. And I was like, "Oh, it's cool."
But they're cool. They're like,
"Yes,
they're like little robots almost. I don't know how to explain it."
Mechs. They're actually not real animals. They're mechs being pirates. really do like I like I like beetles um quite a bit but this one just
not palmetto bugs I would hope
not what
not palmetto bugs
I don't know I found them interesting just to walk
me bugs are gross that's not a beetle though
is it not
a pomemetto bug is a beetle
smells like a cockroach right
is not a beetle
no a cockroach is not a beetle
a roach that's different than a beetle
so that is different
they're horrific
they're horrific yeah beetles are cool
anyway I think this one I think the cover and the art on the cards definitely drew me in but then I Look at the board and that rotating board. It just I think clinical is the perfect word. It starts to feel that.
I will say this, if you are interested in this game,
I don't think you need to back it
because Mycelia is everywhere. It's at
Books a Million, Barnes & Noble, all over the place. So, if they're going to get that one out, they'll get this one out also.
Yeah. Yeah.
The Lord of the Rings Ascension. Now, maybe it's just me. Every time I see this, I get bugged by the logo by Lord of the Rings.
And then the Ascension having that yellow around it bothers me every time.
Oh, interesting. What? Like the look of it bothers you? They tried to match them but they don't match. You mean or
like the bottom one should just say ascension. Why is that extra? It looks like they cut it off of a box top.
Yeah. Yeah. Okay, I got you.
That just bugs me. Just write ascension. Why do you have that extra yellow around? Not a huge
I kind of agree. I didn't even notice, but now I'll never not see it. Thanks.
Like it's there. You just see it very obviously and it's weird.
It's either on the box or not.
Yeah. Okay.
Well, on the box it looks like on the box it doesn't have that. So, obviously they have
That's what I'm saying. It doesn't have that.
Yeah. On a black background they could have just written Ascension. I think you're right.
I was thrown off that this was and I think we talked briefly about this that three games,
right? Three slightly different games, but they are different. You know, they're not
like they have different ways of delivering the cards you purchase, the way you interact with the villains, things like that. They are slightly different games. And I was so psyched for this when it was first announced. I love Ascension. Ascension's a it's a great deck building game. Lord of the Rings. Seeing the Ascension kind of look used for Lord of the Rings. That's great. All of that is really interesting. And then I hit this project and it's like, well, you want $150 for this?
No, but you get three. Okay. But then if I only get one, it's only 50 or whatever. But I feel like I'm not getting everything. So, it's like I I'm not satisfied either way. Either I paid too much or I'm getting a third of what you actually made.
Not the first time this has happened. You remember that dice game that
was it Cryptozog? They made the the hob the Hobbit adventuring dice game and you played it. You got to the end and you were like, "It's not over yet.
That's true.
Continue in the next game." And I was like, "Wait, what?"
I think at least with those they made them at different time. Like they actually didn't release all three at the same time. And I think I don't think it's a good, you know, game or a good idea. But I feel like they should have just made the fellowship. Get that out there. Get people excited. Then make the two towers at some point. I don't know.
Yeah.
Go ahead.
Yeah. Yeah.
Oh, I don't know.
I thought you were going to say something before Z rudely interrupted you.
No, it's fine. It's fine. Conversation went on.
I'm interested in this. I like Ascension. I like Lord of the Rings. I think the combo is not bad. I'm looking at the cards and it looks like it's more Ascension than it is Lord of the Rings.
When I look at these game, you know, the cards, they look more like they took a lot of ascension mechanisms and just copied it over, which I don't know that necessarily bad,
right?
We're definitely getting
this close to Lord of the Rings overload at this point. Really,
I don't know if that's bad. I mean, I think it's okay that, you know, Ascension, if you're getting into this, you should also like Ascension. But it does, to Z's point, make it hard to jump into this when it does feel kind of sy. You know, it's like, does each of the three boxes feel more like a module or a different mode of playing than
How many people do you think back just one box?
Well, at 1.3 million, I think most people are going for all three.
Yeah, I bet.
Okay, so 3,600 people got the trilogy. Just the fellowship ring, 270. Yeah.
Yeah. It's not even close.
Yeah. No, I get it. Look, I'm in the minority. I guess I understand. But I also don't have $150 to just be like, "Oh, yeah, sure. Boom. Here you go."
But it is it is weird. And I don't know where that break because I'm I'm with you as well. I'm not I'm not liking this. But it is weird because there is a $150 game out there that I would be like, "All right, that's worth $100." I feel like this feels like
even when you break it down, they're only $50 each. That's also a decent price for a game this day, especially with this many cards and that kind of stuff. But for some reason, this one just feels
maybe it doesn't
feel like it's three completely different games to justify all three, but it also doesn't feel like a $150 game,
right?
So, it feels like neither. And it misses the mark on both.
Also, if I get the one, whichever one, and I don't like it that much,
then you have
then I have two more that I might not like that much.
I don't know.
Lord of the Rings, you should be able to resell, but I get it. What do you think about this? The deluxe bookcase version.
Crazy.
I like how it looks though. Why are there four?
The the one of them is the Baba Yaga that combines them all.
The one might be one's a components box, it says.
Oh, okay. Okay.
It's so They're so fancy you can't even have the component.
Well, I don't know. That's bad. If you pull the components out and then the cards you need from one set and then you're done.
I wouldn't oppose having three sets of components.
That's interesting. So, does that mean if you're getting just the regular box, you're not getting this. You are getting triple components. What components? I mean, there's not a whole lot of components in in
starting decks.
Yeah.
Um the
there's some big gems. Yeah. Yeah.
There's not a whole lot change. Okay. Huh.
Anyway, no. Look, I'm I'm really psyched. I would love to play this game, but
150 something.
Well, you're going to wait a year and three months.
It's going to be a while. It says December it's coming out.
Yeah.
I think this was being shown off somewhere at Gen Con, but I did not see Stone Blade there. Maybe they were in a demo area and I just missed it.
Like you said though, there's a lot of Lord of the Rings. It'd be hard to pick out which one specifically.
Some of you watching are in the cult of the new. Some people are in the cult of the lamb.
Hello.
This is the IP, right?
Yeah, it's a video game. Okay.
Very popular. This is from Paper Fort Games, though. And Paper Fort Games is known for making games like Terraria,
Cosmopos. I will say Terraria felt like at Gen Con. And maybe this just me, but it felt like that ship had sailed a bit.
Um, I went by their booth at the very end. They were blowing out some other game. Um, but there was still copies of Terraria
to buy. So, just keep that in mind if you want to play this game. I'm sure it will be available in a in a year or so.
I'll say this, it looks like a whole lot of game. I have not played Call of the Lamb, though I'm interested. I I was looking into it actually because of this. I started looking into it again, I should say. I've sort of glanced at it in the past. Um, but man, looking at this the video the day where they explained the gameplay, there's a lot of gameplay in this.
It seems like complex and
like not video game not not like oh for video gamers who might dabble in board games. No, it looks like a game for board gamers.
I agree.
Well, they got me gunshy in Terraria. I'm sorry. That game says 45 minutes per player.
Yeah. And it wasn't until the reviews came out and people were like, "Not actually." Yeah.
And so I'm seeing the previews here are people saying, "It's amazing. I want to see the reviews first."
And that's so tricky to do, right? When you bring it from video game to board game, you need a reason to play the board game outside of the video game. And sometimes that's because it's more simple or the tactile experience, but you don't want it
more complex. You don't want to see behind the scenes of the video game. You don't want to see all the math the video game is doing for you. And so I I'm hesitant with when it looks it to be really heavy. Now sometimes that's worked out. I think Frost Punk is amazing and it is a very heavy game. Yeah.
That's adapted from the video game. Um but it does carry some hesitation,
you know, for me.
Yeah.
That's it, folks.
Not much more. We'll have a lot more next week and we have news coming tomorrow morning. Um but yeah, that's it. Anyone got a pick of the week?
I have a pick of the week.
I know your pick of the week as How do you know?
I bet it's Is it Echo band?
Yes,
it is.
Is yours Echo band?
It is.
You know mine is
Echo. Is it Echo?
It was almost to be fair, it was almost a Lord of the Rings uh as to be fair. We only have like 12 to pick from. So, yeah.
But this looks fantastic. It looks It looks tremendous. I I can't wait.
I'm on board with just about anything this company tries at this point. I do think that they are still innovative and sometimes that works. Myth Myth uh Myth Win did work for me, but it also was a little bit ahead of its time with the Cozy, I think. And and they've only I think they started really well, and they've only been getting better. Um
this is also a different very different look from the company. Their games don't look like this normally, and this is this is a bold uh style. I like it.
Yeah,
that's it.
Well, there you go, folks. Someone says it might be a slow week, but remember, it is the week post Gen Con, right? So, I would I I mean I was looking there's a lot of projects that we'll be talking about next week.
Of course, next week will be a two week, so you'll have a lot of projects to take a look at there.
That's it. We'll see you tomorrow morning in the news. But until then, I'm Tom.
I'm Z.
And I'm Camila.
Have fun gaming.
