Description

You are one of the doctors that were just hired for the brand-new, cutting-edge Medical Center. Alongside your colleagues, you have to cooperate well, to admit, diagnose and treat various patients who need your help. Combine your strengths and treat efficiently the patients arriving at hospital, but be careful, because mistakes can be of the highest value in Rush MD!

'Rush M.D. is an innovative, real-time, cooperative board game that simulates the challenging and high-pressure nature of medical professions. A worker placement mechanism, using hourglasses as workers allows, but also limits, players to perform a multitude of actions. Each player handles 1 Doctor hourglass running around the hospital, admitting patients, providing immediate medical care, performing different kinds of exams as well as performing surgeries. Additionally, there are 4 more Nurse hourglasses, which can be used by all players. Nurses provide medicines to patients, supply all necessary drugs and equipment that you need to carry out all your exams and medical procedures. Any worker placed on an action space may not be used elsewhere before the sand within the hourglass runs out, making each decision important as time is limited.

The game plays from 1-4 players and lasts for 4 rounds of 4 minutes each. That means you only have 16 minutes in total to treat various patients, overcome many difficulties and challenges and manage to cooperate efficiently with your teammates, combine your forces into helping as many of your patients. A highly thematic experience that is equally rewarding for gamers and families, filled with fun, challenges and sharp decision making!

In Rush M.D. pressure is high as human lives are upon your hands! Can you handle the Rush, doctors?!

Quotes (from this video)
  • I think the biggest thing for me is we play a lot of four player games four and five player that's sort of our the that's the best count for a lot of the games we play a lot of the heavier euro types of things mostly actually to four players I noticed yeah and where general we're kind of Care Bears when we play really we don't like the big area control sort of things all that much compared with resource building and we're not that take batty or vindictive about things and one of the well there are some exceptions but carry on and I think one of the bigger things in a three or four player game is that I don't like singling out someone to attack or singling out someone to block just for the sake of it and that's a key part of tactical gaming is blocking people out from things when you're playing with higher player counts it for me it's time to do it kind of like I know what you mean though it's like it's about a bit like King making as well especially if somebody is ahead and do you attack that person or do you attack the person that is I don't know that you think that always wins in the game or but is it based on the strategy or is it based on that particular game or you don't want to attack your partner because you're scared that you gonna get kicked out and sleep in the spare part anyway sorry carry on yes okay King making or the need to for the collective team to block each other equally is something that it's something I don't enjoy and I like when I like in a two-player game you strip all of the complexity of that away and a lot of the games that I find scale best to two players or that I like best as two players bring you down to a point where it's just as valuable to block somebody else as it is to forward your own game and that forms a critical part of the strategy so for me that's what I like in a two-player game particularly one that scales down is one where I've got a very clear way of responding to what my opponent is doing
  • I think one thing that I like it I like it when a game recognizes that even though it could technically mechanically scale down to two players when they realize that they don't do it very well and they just leave that off the play account all right I think raise an example is flotilla it's a three to five player game I don't I don't believe there's any mechanic reason why you couldn't play that with two players but because it's got the sink side sky sky nezam and you need to what one side is doing affects the other yes that asymmetry is critical to the game and so they just drop two players off you're right I always wonder I haven't thought about that further why doesn't has to be minimum of three players in flotilla is because of that balance that needs to be you know you know strike for the sink site in the side side thank you
  • I find treating it as a dual and responding more directly to mice I think it's two things firstly it's responding directly to my single opponents cards if I know they're getting a lot of attacks I'll go and get a lot of moats or whatever the defensive one is if they look like they going a fast game I've got to adjust my pace to that I find that a lot cleaner at two players and four players and the fact that the game almost always ends from the provinces being empty rather than the the decks being out I think that also to play it turns it into a race and I just find that works well for plays yes out of all the minions that you have well this this attacking one I hate I play this you get a curse god and although there's a other type as well that affects others I think I can I haven't played all of the minions played most of them I play more than your thing in Dominion there's a van cart and things like that that probably might change it a little bit but you're talking about the basic good just just any of the well the ones I've played certainly I've enjoyed it a to players and that's how we usually play it

Quotes (from this video)
  • So, we're going for maximum psychological damage.
  • Um, so to start, I got to do it. I got to start big. I got to start big.
  • So, we're go with Deal with the Devil, a big chunky Euro game that is tough to play even for experienced gamers.
  • I'm going to then crack open the rule book for the first time, sit there and read the rules in front of them, and then try my best to then explain the game, which will require several more references to that rule book. And I think that will really add to the uh torture factor.
  • And now we have sand timers and you have to be quick and you have to yell and stuff and I think that will be such a wild shift in the other direction.
  • We're going to play this game to completion. You cannot end the game once you start the game until the game ends.
  • It's the same thing like the entire box. The entirety of Oath Sword at the end of the night. Huge campaign game. Really complicated. Tough to learn. Tough to play. Great game.
  • So, down in the comments, let us know who had the best worst game day for new gamers.
  • We want more board gamers, not less. So, don't do this to anybody, but have a thought about what you would if you did do it to somebody you didn't like.
  • Hamlet. Um, Mike does not like this game. Hate to say it. Hate to say it. It's not a good game.

  • The games keep getting better.
  • From the future of Rolls in the Family himself.
  • He is more qualified to be on the channel than I am. I'll just say.
  • Planet Unknown.
  • I do like like putting that like spinning it and put and picking whatever I want and putting the tiles on the planet.
  • Yeah, you're getting to pick from the lazy Susan.
  • The game presentation definitely makes it look more complex than it is. Like it's a fairly accessible game that also has some very nice modules and depth.
  • Escape.
  • Escape the temple.
  • Try to get out of the temple.
  • Yeah, and you're having to do it kind of fast, aren't you?
  • It is amazing the punch it packs in just 10 minutes.
  • You feel like you explored everything.
  • Do you get nervous when the gauntlet the music gets faster and you have to get back?
  • I got that trap that I went into it and it just moved me all the way around the temple to like a different area?
  • And you got trapped.
  • This is our second video we've filmed in a row.

Quotes (from this video)
  • Viewer discretion is advised.
  • I absolutely loved it. Super fun game
  • But now there's a lot more going on.
  • So, I I think that's really cool. you can kind of restructure the lab.
  • So, I think they're they did a really good job of adding in the labs because the mini gamess are kind of like the I probably say the heart of this game.
  • This is definitely an expansion that I probably just wouldn't play without.
  • If you like Rush MD, I think this is going to be an expansion worth checking out.
  • If you don't like Rush MD, then you will hate this expansion because it makes it just it kind of exacerbates everything about Rush MD.
  • It's more hectic, more chaotic.
  • On a scale of 1 to 10, I'm going to give the Rush MD ICU an eight.

Quotes (from this video)
  • This game is an absolute blast.
  • I really enjoy that whenever you send your doctor, where is it? Your doctor worker to a location.
  • While the game itself doesn't feel thematic because it is literally moving around and uh you know flipping hourglasses, so [snorts] the actions you're taking, it's weird. The actions you're taking, I've never once felt like I was in a hospital while playing the game, but as you're talking about it and the things you're talking about back and forth with the players does bring out that same feel, if that makes sense.
  • It just works out extremely extremely well that it's just kind of and it's short burst chaotic fun.
  • The table the the table hog of this game is insane.
  • And on a scale of 1 to 10, I'm going to give this one an eight. I really I really like it.
  • It is I like the medical point system uh because that makes sense. you're not helping patients who are coming in being administered but at the same time I find that the game itself is not overly difficult.
