1:32 M for the first one in this month's crowdfund Mania is one that's pretty close to our heart I think yes it is because she's from Owen Davy that literally leaves around the corner from us uh is absolutely fantastic and uh the games we're talking about is uh Fame and fables a card game about dungeon monsters and building your crew and uh going around air RPG style but slaying beast but probably also dying a lot yeah competitive card game it's fantastic fun now Owen is an absolutely amazingly talented brilliant illustrator by the way and this is I think part of the selling point of this project is his phenomenal illustrations absolutely which are the games gorgeous yeah the games looks fantastic this the first time that we saw the games was um a year year and a half ago um at a very small local um con that is Paradise that is getting bigger and bigger that's another story we'll talk about um but we were first of all we were very attracted by the the the art of the of the game um and then actually playing the game and playing more after at the ukg then playing again Spiel playing again a few months ago we saw the develop of this game going from from like a a concept to to actually a very solid game it doesn't

3:04 just looks amazing it plays amazing it plays super fun yeah flame and Fable is amazing it is challenging it is difficult it is highly interactive with elements of take that um but also it has this great feeling of you know building your crew up to then slay some huge beastly monster that will do something horrible to you and probably kill half your crew but it's a great interactive game but it is so um each turn you will play with your cards trying to uh recruit more um uh heroes from the from the Tav that is the buy some cool items and then trying to score as many points as you can because it's still a competitive around the table trying to kill uh the monster the bigger monster you kill the more points you get but every time that you get more points you will trigger other the stuff like all the people can refresh their cards or a lot of um a lot of interaction in in that sense and it's got a um a true solo mode as well if you like the idea of this and all of these packaged in in a such a beautiful game oh my goodness yeah you should certainly check out the campaign Owen has done a phenomenal job of this as a oneman band essentially uh this is a product that looks tremendous plays well I mean it's it's a great job yeah and um and all his work that he's done before and all the Expo they been and people have been trying this game made founding the game so easily found it just like after probably like three or 4 minutes um and

4:34 uh the the the the the campaign is keep going and he doing really really well uh and he definitely deserve it because it's a fantastic product it's not just looks nice it doesn't not just play amazingly is the two things together so absolutely check this one out absolutely let's move on to the next one so Matt went on an adventure back to the motherland in Italy where all history comes from and he went on a secret adventure to do a secret mission for us which is to go and play some secret games yeah exactly yes I was um This was um um before Christmas I was lucky enough to be invited at the ludus marus studios in Rome uh thank you very much guys for the invite and uh they let me play with what is now live on game found and is Blas famous the ball game uh BL famous as you probably know is um um a video game IP uh is that um to the Rog light uh it's got a proper name I can't remember what the um uh with this very uh strong team in this kind of like religious um um Dark Fantasy World um the the game is based on that IP as you following is you been following the the channel you know for me it's normally like a big red flags but um this is

6:05 actually well done it takes um it takes the um some of the main ideas behind the game and actually transforming into a proper ball game um because the game itself is got you basically got this um your hero that is this penitent uh that goes around slash and killed stuff uh by K Mal points and it can it can sacrifice itself to become more poent of all that kind of stuff that normally video games um and this is very well represented onto the onto the board the game itself is an adventure game it's a competitive Adventure game uh so you will have your your character that will travel um through the um through the map uh all the map is got divided in different location the different location will help you um going from this to that and trying to achieve your um your quest um the game is is scenario based so each scenario will have a uh certain quests that certain things that needs to be done to achieve more points and to and to win the game um at the same time is competitive so you will play against all the people that trying to achieve the same things as you uh however there is a little bit of co-op in in that as well CU some of the fights you will have to fight alongside another player otherwise you would never uh achieve the achieve the victory uh but yeah apart from that

7:36 it's U it's really interesting how all the things are are done in terms of like moving around the board um trying to to finish some Quest getting more bonuses so you got you can build your character as you want the each character will have different build like that you can uh different kind of like stance let's let's say uh they will let you become more bulkier or more uh dashy dashy attack attack or more faster depending on what play style you want to you want to do at the Times um killing minor enemies you will get Treasures that's going to be basically adding uh more stuff to your to your character H one things that is really cool they got this custom dice the you know the one that you can remove one of the face of the dice and replace it with with the yeah replace it with a with a better uh face once you you acquire that from killing an enemy and in all of that then this the the boss Butler of the um section of the game so um toward the end of whenever the the the games will tell you to do it uh you basically move to um not from the main board anymore but to a smaller board that is the um uh the the boss fight in this boss fight again will be very important where you position your character and how do you move it so it's it it gets the the boss battler like all the games all the boss BL games um uh interaction and uh but it all done

9:07 very smoothly the game doesn't take too long to play I think we were playing in three players and we did an entire game in uh probably an hour or some something like that it's really fast and and it's very well done I I really liked it so if you're looking for um an American Style game where there's a lot of fighting a lot of things to do uh with big boss to to to do it H or you're a fan of the video game this is something that you definitely need to check out check out that's been a interesting uh sort of trend I think the word trend you got things like dead cell they had slay the spy and then you've got Blasphemous so this like this Rog like taking these Rog likee video games into into board games I think it's because they they um reflect to the board like more well better than than other type of games maybe because you can start fail go again oh interesting so go check this game out yeah and again the production was he L magn everything like absolutely amazing from The Minis to the old components the dice that you can change the faces that is uh that's pretty cool so definitely check out blasphemers M as you know I don't really like cycling but I quite like a cycling game or at least a racing game yes this is kind of one of those isn't it yeah this was one of the uh most interesting games that we found out last year at ukg while they was still um prototyping the

10:40 game or or getting the game out we then got um a prototype copy that we played and we really enjoyed it and we're talking about spokes spokes cuz now is live on Kickstarter right now um and it's been one of the most um abstract racing game um most interesting that we played in in a lot in a long time this was quite an Innovative yeah definitely and new this is very much almost like an a heavily abstracted uh root creating game root placing game right um and it's that you are it's essentially set in the v drone is in a vone yeah so trying to go around and around the V drone but it does this really interesting I suppose yeah root creation exactly you are essentially going to be uh taking a colored piece from your player board and placing it in the v Dr or replacing it with a piece in the Val drum to try and get matching colored pieces in a line and I'm sure Matt will show some pictures on here what what we mean it's hard to explain but if you get them in a line you can then move your bicycle all the way across that line if it's all the same color but that's really cool but then eventually obviously other people are going to be doing that they might see your pathway they might cut it short cutting it it's it's really interesting so you on your player board you will have uh these pieces that are disposed of your wheel and and you're going to um interactiv changing with the

12:10 one on the map and try to create this route um the more player the better because everybody's going to start cutting the each player out I think it goes up to six player which um that is uh quite a quite a good number we they played it in uh four it was very very good interactive cuz you start seeing Oh that play is going to do that let's let's break this let's take this off yeah and then of course there are some other like special powers that you can uh you can do some some combos uh but it is um uh again very Innovative CU it's not something that you we saw like before some and at the same time it's quite fast to play and quite fast to uh to learn and to explain there's not much more than like literally like this is the piece put it here Follow The Line how much can you move yeah exactly plays at about half an hour easy to pick up easy to teach um has a nice interesting quite satisfying uh gameplay Loop when you can create a really long line and then suddenly jump across three players really really smart design uh puzzly abstracted very interesting and with a cool sort of neon Vibe yeah yeah yeah the artwork is is uh is really nice and the the boat press and start put it on on the table it looks pretty Co cool uh the game is already founded so you know that the guys are going to deliver the game uh and we managed to actually play the game it does exist it does exist it's fine it's enjoyable and it's it's

13:40 really nice from um um from the guys at radical 8 I guys can see they very very nice people so definitely check out spokes you still got a few days to to back it um yeah we had a lot of fun with this one yeah absolutely that's spokes for the next one we got um One Versus One games yeah uh and you say there chess space chess One Versus One card battler okay with a chess theme so a like chess itself is a abstracted war war an abstracted war game which is in and of itself is also a theme so theme of Chess that's quite meta we Tak The Meta now we have a card game based on the theme of chess so the black and white and the horses and the pieces anyway so this is a game called chess AET chess AET is like T AET I guess there's the name for that so and this is really interesting this is taking the idea of like the chess pieces Etc and putting it into a one versus one card battle where you're going to be having your your set your deck of cards uh playing against your opponent you pick black or white you get a hand of seven cards and you be playing cards into a tableau yes you're going to create your Tableau and your Tableau will be full of things like your pawns your Ro s your your horses your your sorry your Knights your uh your queen your king etc etc when you've got your toau and as you start to play cards they're also going to have different abilities there'll be different things and powers that will activate and maybe

15:12 make people discard cards or do things like that but what's interesting about the game is you want to be able to attack your opponent right if you attack your opponent by playing an attack card and they can't defend they will have to discard cards from there to blow yeah and if they discard their King then like in chess that's that's that's point point exactly but how they do the attack is very that seems pretty fun so there are specific Attack cards in the game which will do an attack value for example seven I think seven is a number it will do seven damage if you can't defend it but in order to do that damage you need to have specific pieces in your toau yes so that's where your strategy comes from you're going need to look at your Attack cards know what your deck might give you in terms of attacks and set your pieces up in order to play those attack cards while also being ready to defend with defend cards because you know your opponent's going to do the same thing to you yeah of course it's it's it's pretty interesting cuz it's yeah this this Tableau building in to actually achieve like attack or or defense specific patterns and certain types of pieces that need to be in the right place using the power from each one of the pieces like the the um uhre the powers of your attack inreasing your defense power that sort of stuff as well it's uh it's it's pretty interesting it's quite of like a different takes from the from um in a card game cuz it's like this Tableau building yeah it looks really interesting it looks as well quite easy to to gr absolutely this is seems like a relatively lightish card

16:43 game that could be really fun if you are I don't even know I thing is I don't like chess shoot me I'm not smart enough to understand chess I don't do chess right like I like every other ball game like can't do chess can't play G I've played enough don't need to do anymore but I feel like an easy card game that will make me feel like I'm playing chess we like but more like Bly I think I'll quite maybe enjoy that see I will say I don't think this is going to be uh we don't know what the price point is going to be for this but being just like literally a stack of cards I don't think it's going to be that expensive so it might be a little a little things to um to to look after cuz it's looks smart enough to keep you an eyet yeah absolutely so go check out chess atet chess atet last but not least definitely not least uh definitely one of the games that we are most excited to see and to play it again and I'm talking about neon hope neon Hope was our surprise of Shel 2024 uh we got to play a preview copy of the first chapter yes which we absolutely loved you can see that preview somewhere up here so do go check that out and we I mean we both love this game man I think this is actually such a fantastic fantastic game this is coming out soon this is the only game I think in this video uh that you can't back right now if you're watching it right now for this out in a couple of weeks after this yeah it should be uh beginning of April we're going to leave the link down down here

18:13 cuz this this is definitely the one that we will say definitely definitely go and have a look say be it definitely go there and have a look at the very least go and do that but what the game is the game is it is a Cooperative story driven uh card game yeah uh something like Arkham Horror lcg mixed with something like the the theme of like Android Netrunner and you're going to be uh playing through different scenarios uh with this wonderful wonderful hand management system which is so enjoyable to play so it's um um if you if you know um um aramara or any other uh living card games you know how uh don't thing can be like getting into them just because they are normally very heavy and complex with a list of like icons that you need you need 500 keyw yeah well um you've all of the things the good things from that kind of games we found it in neon hope but with a very much more streamlined and accessible uh way of playing the game and to be honest it'll be more fun fun you can just play it I don't to keep reading these three manuals it is so it is such fun I mean we really love the artwork as well it's really vibrant uh fantastic the story was engaging and not too long we're not sitting there for 15 minutes reading you know paragraphs and

19:44 paragraphs text is on the back of a card this sets up the story yeah of you go um and it's really fun you're doing different challenges different challenges might unlock different reactions from the people that you interact with and there's branching story lines as well which might come and bite in the bum later on depending on what you do so it's s difficult yeah um various difficult level that you can uh that you can uh that you can select you can if you want you can really play with in the hardcore mode where it's really really punishing or there is like the lighter one the story mode so you just like going through the story uh each character that you play will have different abilities and you can build your character going forward as you more like there will be a hand construction thing going on which ProMed by the team over at neon hope and uh instead of having to build like a deck of 30 40 cards or anything like that it's a hand of like cards and and then you get some special items that you can get in as well so it's a much more sort of easy accessible way of creating a cool character and all of this that doesn't um is not a bad things is in a cyber Punk environment that we love more it's fantastic we but with a very interesting take as well on the Cy it's not cyber Punk going in stuff like cyber Punk 2077 or all that it's the unique take on the Cyber Punk this like solar punk where there hope as well yeah that not it's not all bad bad bad there's still someone trying to do some
