Heat. Hey, Heat. Enemy.
Hey. Hey.
Tonight
you Hey,
hey, hey.
Heat. Heat.
I know. Hey Heat. Heat. N. I want
you. Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat. N. Hello.
Heat.
O hey down.
Good morning.
Good morning.
Society.
Welcome to the show. Episode 91 of Good Morning Society.
That's so many.
It's a lot. Folks, I'm Ruell Gaviola.
I'm Becca Scott. and welcome to your weekly dose of board games,
beverages,
beverages,
and shenanigans. Yes. Yeah. You know, I was remarking before we uh did I just say remarking? I was talking about how this
I like remarking.
I do too.
It's a good verb.
It sort of came out and sort of like just went out there like
what hath the remarked.
Oh, I remarked that the set is getting cozier by the week. I feel this is lovely.
It is. I'm moving in. Yeah.
I mean, I already live here, but fully moving in.
Yeah. Welcome to our place, folks. Um, we are excited to be here as always. Yeah. And hang out with us. Relax. Get your beverages.
Espresso.
Yeah. We're going to be playing games uh later. A really terrific game from our sponsor this week. Uh, Creatus Games and Viva Dirtly. I'm so excited. NPC Rivals. we played on TTS, Tabletop Simulator, a few weeks ago, but now where we have a hard copy, we will be playing in person, which I know y'all are excited about because um as much as it's great to be able to connect with anyone, anywhere in the world and play a game, uh TTS is not the same. Uh use clicking with that mouse is not the same as using your fingers to pick up a card andor I don't trust that die. I like want to I want to physically roll the dieice. And
I will never quit fail an inerson die.
And wait till you see the dice tower that we have. This is a really exciting. Um you're going to see that on the table in a few minutes here, folks. So
yeah,
really neat.
I It makes my eyes go wide and my uh skeletal jaw fall slack. That's what this dice tower does.
Totally does.
It's a skull, y'all. It's a skull.
It's a skull. It looks awesome. So stick around for that. Um, but first, uh, we're going to take a look at what's happening here on the channel. We've got a couple of new videos, including
the latest episode just dropped.
Yeah, they know. I bet half these people are watching along. We had 1,600 people watching live for our premiere, which is really exciting. I watched the whole thing along with them. Uh, so I could just say how upset I was at certain game moves that certain other people did. Uh you may notice I just there there was an imp token under my face there. I was the starting imp and nothing went wrong.
Uh but this one I called beginners brew because uh it is trouble brewing the starter script with a few little additions. We put the marionette, the ogre, and the boffin on the script.
Did we use them all? You'll have to watch to find out. Uh but this is another this is I would say our second really great entry point. There's the one where Abria teaches you to storytell and then there's this one that is just basically the core main starter script. Um so and we spent a lot of time we're getting nice compliments about taking the um suggestions that people put into the comments about how often you want to see the tokens pop up. the way in which we're we're evolving how much we're explaining with voice over about the decisions being made by the storyteller. Um, and each episode is a little bit different and each editor has their own flavor. So, uh, yeah, another one I'm really proud of. This is the fifth out of eight episodes and we'll drop another one in three weeks.
Awesome. Yeah. So, be sure to check that out on the channel now, folks. The latest and greatest. Uh, but plenty more to come uh with our Blow on the Clock Tower show. We also have um a new video in the uh Fab February. Is this part of February?
February.
Um
three of five. Yeah, this is Iffy versus Majin Bay. The national champion.
Nice.
Who came in for our shoot?
Will Ify beat him?
I don't remember. So, I'm going to have to check out the video.
Yeah, it looks like a close game right now. I know it was definitely a showdown. I I want to uh Yeah, I won't spoil it for you even if I did remember.
You weren't commentating on this one, so you don't
I was not commentating. I was there. You can watch it.
I was testing my deck for the next matchup offscreen.
Nice.
And uh yeah, uh this is such a great card game. I'm truly uh becoming so addicted and I'm very proud of uh the way in which we've presented this information. again. Yeah,
for ease of understanding a viewer.
Looks great, folks. It's live now on the channel and you can check out all throughout February all the uh games. Um
February is almost over. Can you believe it?
Oh my gosh. Yeah, that's right. We've got three days left.
There might be some bonus February.
Oh,
February and March, you know.
Oh,
I like that.
February all year long. Who says we can't?
I'm okay with that.
Yeah, sounds fab.
Yeah, does sound fab. Well, that's uh what's new on the channel. Let's um Why don't we reach in the the grab bag of games?
Grab bag of games.
Grab bag of games. We're going to take a look at the latest and greatest in the board game world. Uh starting first with our sponsor um for MC MPC rivals, Viva Dirt League and Creatus Games. Take a quick look at the campaign. They are absolutely crushing
$845,000.
Almost a million dollar. That is amazing. And uh
you said a million and I'm like well you know they got some room to go days.
This channel is so brilliant. Look at this production quality. Look at this tavern that they created just for their uh Kickstarter video.
Love that
these guys are geniuses. Their work is really beautiful and speaks for itself. And if you watch their web series and are a fan of their comedy, the card game encapsulates that into the cards. Um, other than that, it's just your classic deck builder, which is a genre I absolutely freaking love. So, I'm excited to play again.
Yeah. And we've got uh their channel right there. Just a little sample of what they do. Again, the production value through the roof. And, uh, funny little bits from, you know, uh, video games here and how they would translate to real life. Uh, so be sure to check out our sponsor today. I
just realized they get to film in New Zealand.
Yeah.
This just builtin production quality.
They live on the set of Lord of the Rings. Exactly.
So, that's an advantage.
I wonder do they have two breakfasts while they're out there? Like first and second breakfast? Like I'm a big fan of second breakfast.
I uh that a staple throughout my pregnancy.
Yeah, we have we're on to third breakfast right now.
Oh, nice. Uh speaking of breakfast, um I had egg salad for breakfast this morning.
I thought it was a transition to the next game.
No, it's not. It's actual my actual breakfast
just on on toast on bread or just egg salad
in a sandwich. I ordered it by mistake from Egg [ __ ] place here in LA. And um
Can I say that?
You just said [ __ ]
Did I just say [ __ ]
Sorry.
That's right. No, it's a business, a legitimate business with a big sign that children go in and patronize
and they want their eggs.
People will be eating that egg [ __ ]
Egg liberated woman, please. Can you guess?
There you go. Thank you. There's no egg [ __ ] shaming here. Um, I ordered a breakfast sandwich on their app and I saw egg and I just assume it's a breakfast sandwich. Yeah. And when I got there, it said egg salad for Ruel. I was like, "Oh, okay."
Society determines whether which format of egg is a breakfast food and which isn't.
Right. And it was delicious. I'm totally doing it again.
I'm pro salad for breakfast. Start your day right.
Not that I've been doing it lately,
really. But sugary cereal will not help you to have energy throughout your day. Whereas protein and fiber will.
Folks, protein and fiber. Um, you know where else you can get fiber?
Fruit.
Fruit.
Yeah. We're going to take a look at our first game today uh in the grab bag. It's Fruit Island from Dr. Riner Kitia.
Uh, your boy.
My boy. I pretty much just anytime I see his name, I'm going to get excited about the game uh or his game because this one is the latest and greatest from Analog Game Studio. Um it is harvesting ripe fruit and rushing to the trading post before the cheeky gorilla chases you down and steal your um hall. So
look, you know the mechanics are going to be simple and elegant and strategic when you see rhineritia. Even though I'm like yeah cute monkeys and fruit.
Yeah, it looks silly. Oh, there's there's a good doctor wears a bow tie in every photograph. That's how you know he is a professional.
It's quality, folks. Uh, this one is a push your luck game with um some set collection and it's presents a familiar dilemma where you're trying to secure more but you're pushing your luck and you may not secure more fruit. And there's the cheeky gorilla. Um, that's what sold me on it was the cheeky gorilla cuz I don't get to say those two words enough. Cheeky gorilla.
Cheeky gorilla.
Yeah,
cheeky gorilla.
So, uh, check that out folks. It is launching soon. So, it's not out yet, but it will be launching soon. And uh that's from our friend Ryder Kenitia.
I've been watching Tarzan on repeat at my house. So we know a lot about Cheeky Gorillas.
Nice.
Well, um Cheeky Gorillas and I have no idea how to go from Cheeky Gorillas to the next game.
These gorillas um are going on vacation to the streets of Rome, baby.
There it is. Our next game is Cyber Punk.
I guess I guess we'll hit the transition button. Yeah. Well, I didn't know this. Is this really a thing? Like cyber Rome punk? Cyber punk Rome. Is that what it is? I
I think they're making it a new thing.
Yeah. And that's what
I don't think it's a thing.
Right.
Cyber punk but Roman.
Roman.
I had no idea. Well, it is a new thing.
This mashup is breaking my brain a little and I don't know if I can handle it. I need to process.
Yeah. Well, you can process while you watch the video here. Um, this is a bit on the heavier side as far as board game is concerned. It's area control, dice rolling, and variable player powers.
You had me with all those words.
Yeah. And
cyberpunk roll. Uh, they simply they did a simple calculation. They said sci-fi nerds and Latin loving nerds, the overlap.
Uhhuh.
Is a is a valid target market. And I think they might be right.
It looks pretty cool, right? I mean, you're in Rome. you got cyber punks and you're trying to take over. Um, one of the designers is Robin David who I've played a few of his games and I really enjoyed it. So, I had no idea he had this in him, but there's a couple of designers that are working together on this.
Oh, cool.
Yeah. So, there it is, friends. Uh, this one is this out yet?
Tyber Punk because the it's the No, I'm thinking of the the
N you got it.
Tyber and Euphrates rivers.
Uh, no, you had it.
What was it? Tyber.
The Tigris and the Euphrates. I think the Tyber is also a different river.
Tigris. Yeah, I was tiger and then I was like that's not right.
Wait, Tigris in Euphrates? Isn't that like where is Tigris and Euphrates? That's not
that's the cradle of civilization in like
Egypt Middle East. Egypt Middle East somewhere around there. But the Tyber
I'm thinking middle school history
and I'm blending all of them together.
Yeah, it's all it's all over the place. Uh but
so wait, so what's the Tyber? Yeah,
the Tyber is in Italy.
I think I think it's a river in Italy. I don't know.
That's what Nikat said. Nikat knows everything.
Yeah, I I trust them. They're European. I trust them.
They would know. We would not.
So, this is named after a river and that's exactly what I meant to say.
Yes. So, Cyber Punk.
Pretty sure I nailed that on the first try. Well, um yeah, that's uh now you can check that out on Kickstarter is uh funded, but we got a couple weeks to go for Cyberpunk. And um it's almost the end of the month here of February.
I can't with this mashup still. I'm going to be up at night thinking you what they put the cyberpunk with the Sorry. Go on.
Oh yeah. So now it's going to be in my brain as well. Thanks, Becca. Uh
I don't know if I'm upset or I love it. It might be a little bit of both. A little love hate thing maybe.
Yeah.
Um but as we near the end of February, we can look back at January.
Heard of it.
That's so bad, Ray. I know. My bad. Um but January is the name of this game that just got launched and it's it's really interesting. This is from uh Shen and Core a um it's a collaboration with Gerald Jared Andrews score where they are create they have created a postcard rating writing game for two people set in a kaijufilled alternate history about distant but persistent friendships. So you are going to be getting these postcards and prompts and you're going to write postcards to each other and mail them and that's how you're playing the game.
Interesting. It's a good long distance game. Yeah,
that's pretty cute.
And it's got this kaiju filled alternate history. So, you can you're going to be talking about these monsters that are right outside your door. And
and that's an alternate history I can get down with.
Absolutely. Uh Shamian Core is really pushing the boundaries uh as far as what gaming um you know the gaming space. Uh she has done they have done uh stuff like uh keepsake games where you would journal or create things and that becomes part of your game. They've done a game about men or sewing called a mending. So, you actually sewed on a physical map.
Very creative.
Yeah. Super creative stuff. And I love what they've been coming out with. Uh we talked about Shing's latest project. It is a puppet show or puppet movie, I think, with Kaiju. Yeah, we talked about a few months ago.
Seems related. Kaiju stuff.
Yeah. Um, this is neither here nor there, but I saw an Instagram post about a pop science study that um a certain when studying people with the most longevity and the least memory loss um a common thread correlation or causation is that they all handwrite
every day. Oh,
and that there may be links between handwriting, like writing things by hand, like a journal every day, and cognitive function. Um, and that's what journaling type games made me think about.
That is awesome. I had no idea. And
I don't know if it's true it was an Instagram post, but who doesn't love a little pop science gossip?
Yeah, I'm going to start writing more when I go. I'm going to start using it as an excuse for why I'm so stupid.
Oh, perfect.
Nice.
Great. Works both ways.
All right. Well, um, why don't we walk on over to our next game, Becca and Ray. Does that work?
Back. We're back.
Walkable City, the urban planning board game.
Oo,
this is from Bowers Games, uh, the publisher of, uh, paperback, hardback, and a bunch of other word games we like. This is not a word game, though. This is a co-op pusher luck game about building public transit.
All right. I love the theme. interested in the theme. This is like uh Sim City style building games
uh is very much in my realm of interest.
Absolutely. So, you're going to be building four different uh uh modes of transport, light rail, buses, bikes, and walking. And you're going to use deck building and uh network uh building as well.
Like they say, build the game you want to see in the world.
100%.
That was Gandhi, I think. God.
Got him.
There it is right there.
Gandhi Kenitia.
Yeah. Gandhi.
Um, this is launching soon on Kickstarter. So, there are just a few uh images here. Uh, as you can see, you are trying to get Haley to the concert. How's Haley going to get to the concert? Glad you asked her. Well, it's either going to be light rail walking or bus mode or what is the other one? Uh, bikes. So, you're going to be building a walkable city. I hope they have good bike parking at this concert venue.
I do, too.
This is fun. I like this. I like this art style and the the color scheme. Uh I think it's really cute. I I definitely want to check out more about Walkable City when it's up.
Same. And it has Tile Lane, Becca. So, we love Tile Lane games.
We love Tile Lane.
Yeah. All right. Uh one last thing to reach in the grab bag of games for. It's not a game, but it's actually a convention of gaming.
We like those. You're going to one of those next week.
That's right. And we've got Yeah. Gamma Expo coming up next week. But we also have LFG Con uh here in uh Burbank, California. It is 168 days away.
This is a cute website. I love a countdown on the front page. Good job, LFG Con. This one's so close to us here in Burbank, California.
Yeah. Uh this is happening August 13th through 16th. It's 3 days of non-stop gaming.
Is that the weekend after Gen Con?
It is.
Okay. Good job on them not overlapping.
Yes.
Come back from Gen Con, rest up for a week, and then um come over here to LFG Con. There's going to be tournaments, workshops, special guests, including yours truly. I just uh talked to them. I'll be special guesting there. So excited about that.
Heck yeah.
Yeah. There's exhibitor hall. They're also going to have the LA Board Game Championship.
Whoa.
I have no idea. I have no idea what that is. It's brand new.
We'll have to find out more.
Yeah. So, we're going to get more info on that soon. And there's also going to be loads of local content creators, designers, publishers, etc. And folks, if you go to the website now, there is an early bird uh discount for your badge that ends this Friday. So, if you're interested, uh check that out.
And this content creator is going to be deep in maternity leave and check in the gram to see your posts about it.
Trending a different type of content.
Yes, exactly. And that content is baby poop. Dirty diaper content. That means that the LA board game championship will be illegitimate until they challenge next year.
That's right.
Risk on that.
Yeah. He'll be the interim champion while champion in absentia.
Yes.
Thank you, Ray.
Until she can defend the belt.
Oh, you mean me? I thought you meant the baby. Yeah.
Even nicer. Thank you.
Thank you, Ray. Hey, that's it for the grab bag. Well done. Um, do you want to play a game?
Yeah, let's punch some stuff.
Okay. Should we walk over there?
I think first we got to tell them for our
time for our jacked up match up. Yay. Now we walk over there. Who might be waiting?
Panic in my voice.
You okay, Ray?
Oh, that's not it either. Wait, what could the game be?
Welcome to my kitchen.
Hello. Oh, wow. What have you prepared? A skull appetizer.
Uh, well, from that side it looks kind of like a bowling ball. So delicious.
Uh I would if it were chocolate, I'd take a bite right out of it. Um how's it going?
Pretty good. Great to be here. Happy to have you.
Here. Here. Have a cup holder.
Oh my god. Thank you.
It's magnetic.
There you go. I love this table. Didn't fit my mug. All right.
What a great table we have here. Shout out to Board Heroes.
Thank you so much to Mike and Board Heroes for creating this gorgeous freaking table. And uh Bailey, good call on on the angle. Look at this. Look at this new angle. New angle, everybody. Uh
new angle. Who this?
Yes. Board Hero sent us this freaking gorgeous table. And Viva Leert League and Creative Studios sent us a copy of NPC Rivals along with this dice tower. That's meant to happen. Here's where you put your dice. Here's where we're going to be putting our graveyard, which is cards that we call pull from our decks because this is a deck building game we played a few weeks ago on Tabletop Simulator. But Bailey's first time playing today.
I'm excited and nervous.
Oh, nothing could ever go wrong.
You're spoiling the next cool thing about this setup.
What?
Secrets. That's right. We have uh also set up our little document camera right here. So, we'll be able to just show you cards. Look at that.
And you can see that my nails still are cute even though they're grown out.
Nice.
Yay.
Pink really works with the purple.
Yeah, it does look good. All right, so we uh Ruel, you know, you know about
Yeah,
NPC Rivals. Yeah, let's take a look. Um, let's play NPC Rivals. Uh, in this game, we're playing as NPCs, uh, trying to complete quests. Now, we're going to be playing to three quests. So, the first player to do that will trigger the end of the game. We finish out the round and then whoever has the most points win. On your turn, you're going to draw five cards like other deck builders. Uh you're we all start with the same standard deck. It's going to be buffs and debuffs. Um and those going to give you uh money to gain cards from the market and other cards from the market will give you abilities and also more gold and more chances to draw cards. Also, you may attack or defend against other players and that's what's really fun about this. that's unique about this from other deck builders. Um, also asterisk on when you see art that is just sketches like so. Uh, these are temporary artwork and there's more being filled in because of course the Kickstarter is still going right now.
And as we go throughout the game, we're going to be leveling up our cards through deck building. And what's really unique about this game too, Becca, is once you've played cards into your uh as you play them, they will have these different icons. And those are the icons, Bailey, that we are going to be using to complete the quest. Oh,
so each quest has uh different icons and those um give you different amounts of experience points because experience points are what you want at the end. Whoever has the most experience points based on their completed quest and also the cards in the deck will win the game.
Yes. And let me just show an example of how each card you can acquire uh has usually an XP value. So, it's not just about the amount you get on the quests, but uh you'll you'll really want to be checking out how much XP you might get from just buying cards.
Yep. Uh so, yeah, that's how you play NPC Rivals. Uh one other thing, they have the microtransactions. These are also always available for sale. They cost two gold. And these will go into your deck and it'll give you uh more gold. And you'll be able to bury it if you'd like. Um burying means uh trashing the card, getting out of the game.
Okay. And that's when we use the skull. We're going to throw in the skull. Oo, we'll put them in the graveyard when we bury, which is the deck calling mechanic title. You'll notice there's zero XP and they are always available until the supply runs out.
Yes,
costs are in the bottom left. We didn't point that out. And I'm just so excited about this document camera. I will be so
You are crushing it right now. This looks great.
Yeah,
Ray's like, I don't have to do anything.
Oh my gosh.
All I had to do is perfect this green screen, which you did. Yeah,
is on it.
I love pointing.
Now, we do have uh different characters. Each character has asymmetrical abilities. Uh so, we can take a look at that first on the card. So, mine says, "I'm Greg, the garlic farmer."
Are you comfortable being the character you've already played?
Yeah, sure. Why not? Great. Just check it.
Unless there Who else do we have? We have Balin over here.
I think that Greg's right over here.
Oh, are you kidding? I'm
just making a joke about how my name sounds like that. Oh my comedy. Okay, so the reason I think we should play with these three is because they all have the potential for card draw.
Oo yeah. Okay, that sounds good.
So I'm going to go first because I'm the garlic farmer. Apparently garlic farmers always go first.
You got to wake up early to farm that garlic. That's right. So true.
Super early. Um
and Becca, you don't want to be Bodger again.
No freaking way. But um uh I'll tell you why it's better in a second. Let's hear your power.
Yeah. When I play the first hero card on my turn, I get to draw a card. So heroes are going to be the different types here. We have actions, we have heroes, monsters, and etc.
Yeah. So this is a card type right here is hero.
Isn't this great?
So maybe we need to buy that Neville level one noob right out from under Ruel's nose.
But Bodger is the one I played on our tabletop simulator stream, but there's been a change. It used to be in order to roll a d20 at the beginning of your turn, you had to discard two cards from your hand for the use of the ability. And now you only discard two if you uh roll a critical fail. So I I had a bit of an uphill battle. Potentially on an at 20 you could draw three cards.
Becca, do you think rolling one would happen?
Impossible. Seems unlikely. Impossible.
Seems impossible. Seems like
I don't think it's ever happen.
I think I think probably not. I think it'll be funnier if I roll exactly zero ones. So it's just not going to happen. Nice.
I can't believe the dye is on it,
right?
You are tempting fate right now.
Yeah. Yeah. No, it will never roll what starts face up. Okay. And then I will play be playing Baradon, which is the one that we saw Adam play, I think.
Uh because it has card draw. Uh and the other two also have card draw. That's why. But whenever you play an attack, draw an additional card at the end of your turn once per card.
Nice. Uh, so we all have an opportunity for card draw, which in uh my card gaming experience is a good thing.
Yeah.
Okay. Uh, so uh we need to figure out who goes first. Oh, it's Garlic. Um, the garlic guy. Garlic.
So, and you can totally set up your hand as other players go as like other deck builders. Draw five.
You'll see on the turn order, you draw five cards right before passing your turn.
Mhm.
Okay. So, I've drawn two debuffs, which are basically just cards that clog up your deck. They give you nothing. And I have three buffs. That's worth three gold coins. I look here on the market. What can I buy for three gold coins? Either a monster, lag, or what is that one there? Little Oh, level one. Is that a hero?
Yes, it is.
I'm taking the level one.
I knew you would. There you go.
That goes into my discard pile. I have one more gold to spend, but there's nothing there. And I just discard my hand. And the next player is up, which is Bailey.
Bailey.
And you're telling me this guy with a bucket on his head is not a hero?
He's just loot. All right. Yeah.
Well,
this person has reverted to just being worth their weight.
I think that's a an equip. So, the bucket will go on your head.
Oh, nice. You can have a bucket. Okay. So, I Okay, so I flip five cards face up and we'll see what you got. All right. So, these are my five.
One, two, it seems here. You're a little out of frame there.
I am a little out of frame. You're absolutely correct. I forgot about camera.
Sorry, everybody.
Look at that skull. That thing looks cool.
Yeah.
Okay. I have four buffs and one debuff.
Could have been better, could have been worse, for sure.
So, you have four money to spend, but you could also use Bodger's ability if you'd like.
Okay. I'm You know what? I'm going to go for it.
All right, let's roll. Using the very cool dice tower. You stick it in its eye and it comes out the mouth.
Yeah.
Gross and amazing. Okay.
Okay.
So, it is a five and it didn't super roll. I feel like I did a job like opens like
I think I did a bad job personally. Yeah, I think maybe
do you have to hold it maybe?
Yeah, if I go like this. Okay, let's try it again.
Try that again.
Hey,
is that brutal?
But results wise, I have to discard a card anyway. So, I'm going to discard this debuff.
Yeah,
the debuffs are pure junk. They dirty up your hand. The sooner you can bury them in the graveyard, the better. So, here's your discard pile,
right? It's very helpfully labeled. Okay, great. So, I have four gold and I can buy some gold.
Oh my gosh. I feel like for flavor there's one that feels right.
Oh,
you're you can spin for on the troll or the bucket. You also could do a lag. You're allowed to buy more than one card. So, this costs two and you get to immediately flip a new card. So, maybe there's another one that's worth two on top of the deck. Who knows? Um, you know,
and as always, sorry, just a quick reminder, macro transaction transactions we have over here. This will get you two gold and then when you bury it, you can draw a card and, uh, that costs two there. And also has a loot symbol used for quest.
Mhm.
For me personally, I think I know
I I do feel like the troll's good, right? Like I'm I'm new. I'm the only one who hasn't played this game, so they have to be nice to me if I ask them questions like, "Is troll good?"
Yeah.
Okay. This gets you two money each time it comes up. So, it's a great starter card to get early so you can start getting more money on your turn. Seems good to me.
And you can bury a card from your hand to earn an additional coin. This is actually amazing and I'm really upset if you're taking it. I really think you shouldn't so I can have it.
That I'm going to. I think anytime Becca tells me not to take something, I'm now going to know that that means I need to take it.
At least I was very clear about why. Um, okay. So, that goes straight to your discard as does the rest of your hand. And your turn has ended.
Good turn. Uh, and you can draw five new ones. When you are out of cards to draw, you should have exactly five left. Uh, then you'll shuffle up your discard and that'll become your new draw.
I sure do.
All right, Migo. And whenever I play an attack card, I'll draw an additional card. So, I'm really hoping that there is an attack card for me, which is flock of chickens. And I have three money. So, um it looks like my turn is decided for me. This says, "Earn one coin and attack. Each rival chooses and discards a card from their hand." Now, notoriously, I did yell at Bailey yesterday for playing a discard deck in Magic. But my my character has spoken for me. The high sorcerer says I got to I got to take the attack card. So that's what we're going to do. And then I will pass and draw a new card for the market.
Okay, I've already played my hand. I've got four buffs, one de left. So I've got four gold. Uh what's this trash mob do? Look at the top card if it is. Oh, I may discard it. Uh lag is I may
you may discard one card in the market or quest line and replace it.
Oh, interesting. So I could help there. But now the loot one I think I want to or the bucket one I think I want to get because that'll allow me to bury a card. Is that correct?
I buried that one.
I gain the top card. If you bury this card, you gain the top card of the market deck.
Oh, yeah. I like that one. I like that one. So, we're going to do that. I'll spend my four gold to get lucky.
All right. And just to clarify, now that we've gone over rules, we've had a turn. It's back to Bailey's turn. Uh, and you can draw your five. Um, the way that you'll we should be keeping an eye on the available quest. Like for example, here's an easy puzzle. If you ever in the same turn are able to play two cards with this lightning bolt symbol, like say the lag card and the shade away card. If you were to acquire both of those and then draw them in the same turn, you would autocomplete this quest and you'd be one/ird towards ending the game.
Nice. Uh we are playing the shorter version where you just need three quests to cause the end of the game to trigger versus um uh the five that we did when we played on tabletop simulator. You could play a short version with three quests.
Feels like a longer a longer version of the game. I like I like when you can do a short version and still get the experience. Sometimes you don't have however many hours five turns takes.
Agreed.
Okay. Are we ready for my cards? I have a feeling they're going to be boring.
So far. So far. It's early game.
It's early game. And I've got a cool guy in here. I just have to get rid of these debuffs first. Yep.
Probably not going to be doing a lot of shopping today either if I'm going to take a guess.
Okay. So, I'm going to use my ability.
Cool.
Cuz I might get a gold, but like why not? And I'm just going to roll the die classic style because I think the skull is mad at me because I called it a name.
Yeah.
And you think this
And I rolled a four again. I say you think this is going to curry favor with the skull.
Do you know what?
To not use it.
It's okay. I'm discarding this debuff. No changes. I have not been affected negatively in any way. Eat it, you stupid skull. Just for funsies, I want to test.
If you can get it to make that sound every time, it's magical.
Okay, I have three gold. I think I'm going to buy the vampires. Nice.
Yeah.
Mhm.
And then I flip a market card. I It's Steve. Steve's here.
Steve.
Steve.
Hi, Steve.
And then I put these in my discard and I shuffle my whole thing. And then now I have draw back up to five at the end of your turn. Cool stuff that I can possibly draw. Now that feels I'm getting the hang of it. We're there. I have four buffs and I'm I there's three things that cost five out here. So, I'm a little sad about that. I uh I could buy the trash mob, lag or microtransaction. I think that I will go for lag. And I still have two more. And I'm gonna flip something awesome. Charisma Ring. All right, this card is amazing.
3 XP at the end of the game. It's considered a loot card for quest fulfillment purposes and allows you to roll a d20 every time it comes up, but it costs six gold to buy. So, not going to be happening for me today with my four. I've purchased a lag and I think I will get a microtransaction for that's all I got. I will send all this to my discard pile. Shuffle and redraw and pass through a well.
Okay, so I've drawn my first hero. That means my ability kicks in as a garlic farmer. When I draw my first hero card, I get to draw another card, which is a buff. So I've got one, two, three, four gold to spend. And I could if I bury this bucket card, I could get the top of the market deck for free.
So we're going to do that. We're going to bury this. And why don't we bury it in the skull?
Put that in the skull.
Absolutely. And then Becca, give me something free. I said, "Absolutely." And I did that on purpose and in the moment.
I see what you did there.
Okay. So, I just got this for free. A griefer.
Um, it's got the little hero symbol and it's a block card. And I get
another hero. That's That's good. I'm glad that worked out for you.
Oh, that did work very well for you. At least it wasn't like a 10 cost.
Oh, yeah. There.
Uh, let's see. Been there, done the thing. Are you a dirt league head? Are you dirt head over there? I'm gonna buy a micro.
Lot of love for Steve.
Classic classic. Uh
oh, we got friends. We got friends from Dirt League in the chat.
Nice. All right.
They've been giving you They've been giving you strategy tips that you
My name is Bailey and your game seems fun.
And I'll pass to Bailey.
Bailey, what you got? These are my five cards and I'm really excited to see them. They're all going to be good. Okay, that one was good. That one was not good. My prediction was bad. Uh okay. Uh, okay. And then Okay. All right. Well, I I have I have uh four gold and I'm going to use my ability because like literally why not? Other than the chance of rolling now.
Go, go, go.
Nine.
So, a nine is more than a four, which I've broken my streak, which is exciting. And that means I have five gold to use. And as Becca correctly observed last turn, there's a lot of five cost cards out here.
Might just a curvy four. Hm.
Nine. Just a curvy four.
Just a curvy four. Yeah,
that's a great point.
Um, okay. I'm going to purchase shade away.
All right, sounds good.
That's all my gold spent. I draw a new card for the market. It's a suspicious guard. And then I'm going to discard all my little guys and pass turn.
Cool. I have five money to work with. One, two, three, four, five. Uh, lag came up. You can discard one card in the market or quest line and replace it. Um, uh, is this your next turn?
Yeah.
Cool. Great. Then I don't have to discard the charisma ring. Um,
I'm going to get rid of trash mob just to see what there is.
Got
Steve again, which is what I'm going to get. Um, I do really like shade away as an ability. You get to discard any number of cards from your hand and then draw that many cards. Extremely powerful. But because my personal ability for Bardon is to draw an extra card when I play an attack, I feel like I need to get as many attack cards as possible.
Nice.
And that's it.
All right. Uh, I've got four buffs and one debuff. Uh, could you refill the market, please?
I would love
something affordable.
The bard that costs five.
Dang it. I've got four.
Let's just show off how cute that guy is.
Hero.
Bailey, could you read off the suspicious guard for me since I'm way over here?
Sure. Uh, two gold and then look at the top card of your deck. You may choose to bury it.
Oh, yeah. I'll take that one, please.
Okay. Here you go.
Thank you. And I'll pass my turn to you.
All right. Great. Let's see what we got here. All right. Breastplate of Argon is our new card taking the spot. Um,
great artwork. Very a very sexy piece of equipment to be sure.
Yeah.
Mhm. And these guns. Okay.
Okay. The tricep. Don't forget the tricep. Okay. So, these are all going to be good cards. I just know it. Okay. All right.
Mhm. Oh, another one. Okay. So, I did get a debuff, but that's actually okay because um the vampire says I can bury one card from my hand. Also, the troll says I may bury a card from my hand. If I do, I get plus one more gold. So, I'm going to use the trolls ability to bury this debuff. Can I do that?
Yeah. Oh my god. Amazing. So, I'm going to do that. And that means that I get plus one. So, I have one 2 3 4 5 six gold, which is cool. And I'm going to buy the charisma.
Do you want to go for the dice roll?
And I'm going to buy the charisma ring. I'm just saying that out loud.
I'm scared. I should have thrown it away.
Five. Discard a card. So that sucks.
No,
that sucks. But
I'm really sorry.
Why did I do that? I told you I told you to roll. I rolled every single time with this.
How did it go?
I rolled several ones.
Okay, so I'm not going to get the charisma ring because Becca jinxed me with her bad dice jet.
But luckily there's three other options. I'm going to take the bard so that Rule has fewer heroes. Hey, that's actually a great call. And then I'm going to fill this in. I'm on your side. Stop jinxing me. I'm going to pass turn.
Oh, is that the horse pocket?
It's the horse pocket, which is hilarious. It's like a bag of holding in their game.
Yeah.
Uh, okay. I have a flock of chickens. And this says, "Attack. Each rival chooses and discards a card from their hand." So, um, can you all please choose and discard a card from your hand? Draw up to five.
Oh, nice. I can wait. Don't worry. Um, so I have four coins, but I have also played an attack. So I am going to get to draw the additional card at the end of my turn, which is very exciting to have six cards next turn. Um, and have them have four. Okay, so four monies, four monies, four monies. I need to start coing my deck. The suspicious guard is really good. Um, which is four. I could buy this breastplate of argon. You may put up to two cards from your discard pile on the bottom of your deck. Um, I do like that it is 3 XP as well, but I really am all about card draw, so I will be buying the horse pocket as my first purchase.
I love the horse pocket.
And then something worth two. Something worth two. It's skip dialogue. You may place a card from your discard on top of your deck. So with my last two, I'll just get another microtransaction and that's it for me. Pass.
Okay, I'm going to play my suspicious guard first. That allows me to look at the top of my deck. I may choose to bury it. It's a buff. You know what? I will bury it. So goes in the graveyard. Our graveyard is in the
in the skull. Skull. Interesting.
So now I've got two, four, five, six. I'm getting that charisma ring. Dang.
Bring it to papa.
Dang.
Thank you. Oh man, I'm so jealous.
I'm glad you make me roll that time back.
I didn't. I just mentioned it was possible.
Okay, so I have one, two, three, four. I've already discarded my debuff. I'm going to roll cuz it's funny. And I got a seven. So I have to discard the card. Really?
You got to take the skull back,
dude. Yeah, do the skull.
I'm doing the skull. I'm doing the skull.
This counts. I just want to see what the skull would have been.
Okay, the skull would have given you.
I can't even get it in there.
Okay. What is it? Like a 20.
It's an 18.
A waste of that good roll.
Use the skull.
Okay. Goodbye.
So, wait. I'm going to discard this buff. I now have three gold to work with, which you may notice is less. Um, I'm going to get a microtransaction.
There you go.
And I guess that's all I can do.
Okay.
Yeah.
Yep.
Yep. We It's a little bit expensive over there, but don't worry, these microtransactions will help you. I have two debuffs and three buffs. And Steve, an attack.
So, I'm going to get to draw up to six next time again. And uh could you draw five so that you can Oh, never mind. This one's different. This one says, "Bury a card from your hand or discard pile." Sure will. It's a debuff. I will bury it. But if you bury a starter card, you may give it to a rival instead.
Look what I do for you. Here you go.
I'm playing my noob. Uh block. So I get to block that action.
I will discard this and I draw a card.
Okay. Put throw it up here so we can see the noob's text. Um unfort you had that face up so I could have seen and I didn't but that goes in the skull if you would.
Um block. Uh yeah I I think I still get to bury it.
Yep.
Uh I just don't give it to a rival. Okay. I have two, three, four, five.
I could buy Shade away the Watcher. You may play a monster card from your discard pile this turn. I do have monsters or I can get another Steve card. Um, I think that the Watcher is great because it gives me a different symbol
and it takes it away from Ruel.
It takes away from Ruel getting a hero
and it does allow me to just play a monster card if I have it. So, I could do both. It's basically like I get to draw because it also gets the plus one monies. So, I'm gonna go with the watcher. Nice.
And he's cute.
Yeah.
Oh, he is cute.
Yeah, he's cute. So,
the bird is my type
for sure.
Oh, yeah. The bard is bard.
Wow. Okay, just uh if anybody looks like this in chat.
Okay, I've got three buffs. That's all I'm going to do. I can't afford anything there. So, I'm going to get a microtransactions and pass my turn.
Okay, that's exciting. I get to roll two d20s this turn. Skull, please. Okay, which one's first?
Um, I'm going to start with Bodger.
Okay.
Nope. I'm going to use the skull.
Yeah.
Yeah. Good call.
It's a six.
Discard a card.
And then I'm going to roll.
I think the trick is it's got to stay in the mouth, right? Oh, yeah. Anything secret.
Well, let's see.
I rolled a five. But I say with the bar, that means I get plus two gold. So, it's actually fine. Oh, would you
would you like me to get you another D20?
I think you need the same.
Don't screw up the stream while I'm away.
One, two, three,
four, five. I have five gold. That's very exciting.
Options. Uh, you could buy anything in this market row.
Yeah, that's so true. Um, let's see. I'm going to purchase. Oh my god, so many to choose from. How will I How will I decide? Okay. Okay. I'm going to buy the breastplate of our gun.
Nice.
Yeah.
All right.
My decision. All right.
That's what I've done. Is it a less cursed dye?
19.
Better. The same color. So, yeah. I'm going to just
uh burn that thing.
Yeah. Throw it over there. Okay, great. Wait, what number is that?
Oh, it's like a Was it like five or
nine? See? See? See? I thought it was 21st.
It would have been funny, but no, that's I'm going to start by attacking y'all. So, I will be drawing six again next turn. Each rival chooses and discards a card from their hand. Just one card.
Okay. So, I've got my griefer. It's a hero that blocks. The player who played the attack rolls a d20. If I roll higher than them, they draw one less card at the end of their turn. and an I draw card.
That goes two.
Two. Okay,
tough to beat.
Oh, dude. Oh,
that's funny.
I like this deck.
The griefer wants me to not get that sixth card. And then you discard this and draw a card.
You do have to spend it to use the block.
Okay.
Okay. Uh, great.
I discard a card as well.
Yes, you do. I do.
So, the griefer did successfully block, which is rude. Um, but uh I still have 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 eight.
Eight.
Nice.
There's a death knight here. Okay, that costs eight. This seems like um kismmet.
The death knight is three XP. The hero symbol, three money each turn, and you may discard a quest from the quest line and replace it with a quest from the quest discard pile. Oh, I I I think I want this for the three money and the three XP and the hero symbol more than its effect, but I'll take it.
Okay.
All eight. One, two. Check for your quest.
Six, seven, eight. I have Oh. Oh, yeah.
Not that one because you just bought that one.
Three symbols. Oh, death king. Yeah, these are the symbols I have right now. Two loot.
Thank you so much. I have done um three cards with symbols, which means I have completed this quest that needs three wilds. Uh anything ancient woodnome game of chance for 5 XP, one step closer to triggering the end of the game.
Very nice.
And that's it for me.
Okay.
And rem remind me, it was so long ago that you told me what is that windcon again? Uh so um whoever has the fir uh completes three quests that triggers the end game and then yeah we'll
the most XP at the end of the game quests are strictly XP but your cards are also XP.
All right noted. Thank you. I was just asking on behalf of the people in the audience who may have just gotten here. So I already knew.
Perfect.
I'm going to play my suspicious card. Look at the top card of my deck. I may choose to bury it. I'm going to bury the debuff. Can you bury that for me, please?
I sure can.
Thank you. And then I play my charisma ring. I roll the d20. Let's get that 20 again. And Oh my gosh. Really?
This guy is broken.
Whoa. Choose a rival. Steal a card from their discard pile. You don't have a discard pile.
I do not. I've shuffled it.
Dang it. And you have a buff.
I just have a buff.
Okay. Do I have to do it? I don't think I want to.
Okay.
I can't believe Rules is using up all the 20s in that die.
This is ridiculous.
By the time it gets to Bailey, it's going to be
It's going to be a one when I roll it. I do think you have to because it doesn't say you may steal.
All right. Thanks for the buff. Okay.
Give me my
Oh, yeah. You can. Good luck. Uh, so I've got two, three, four. Uh, four is I've got this one here. And I do like the symbol because there's a bunch of lightning bolts there. So, I'm going to grab this. It's an action. I may place a card from my discard pile on top of uh my deck.
Pretty good.
Do it with a buff.
Um, just
kidding. All right. Awesome turn, Bailey.
Okay, I have so many things here. I'm going to start by rolling a d20 because
Good luck.
Do you want to use the troll to bury? Oh, yeah. You do you.
I'm going to take all the first.
Yeah.
Okay. So, I got a 12, which is the best I've rolled so far.
It's a good die.
So, that's a plus one. Um, I am going to use the shade away ability to discard any number of cards from my hand and then draw that many cards. So, I'm going to discard these buffs. Draw two.
Awesome.
Okay. And another buff. Um, but that's pretty neat. Uh, if only that one that you just finished wasn't uh gone. It's fine. I'm going to roll another d20 for the bard. Well, I sort of just threw that on the ground, but it's 16.
Much better.
So, I get to draw another card.
Nice.
Which is a debuff, and it doesn't matter at all, but I can bury a card from my hand, and if I do, I get plus one gold. So, I'm going to bury this debuff. Nice. Okay. Okay. Things are happening.
It's two, three, four, and then five from here. Is it five total? Am I correct about that?
Yes.
Okay, great. Five seems good. Mhm.
Um I'm going to What am I going to do?
I'm going to buy a Steve.
Steve.
Mhm. He costs five and I want him.
Very nice.
And you're taking a monster attack away from me. So that's probably
Sure am. But I've uncovered an astrologer.
Bailey, be sure to check for your quests. Check your icons that on the cards that you've played perhaps. I don't know if you have.
Oh, I looked first. I was immediately disappointed.
Oh, okay. That was that look on your face. Got it.
All right. I've got buff, debuff. Steve, horse pocket, and lag. Steve says, "Attack, bury a card from your hand or discard pile. If you bury a starter card, you may give it to a rival instead. Let me just look at your face up cards." Which, by the way, we don't have to play face up, but does have
his noob just staring right at me. Uh, okay. Well, I will be burying this debuff. Um, Bailey, I can see that Ruel has a way to stop me. So, I'm going to give you this debuff.
You didn't have to.
You literally did not have to.
So, I do have to discard my noob for blocking, but I do get to draw block.
Oh, I didn't block cuz you went that way. Okay.
Yeah. Maybe I should have played my cards face down.
Yeah.
Forgot who I'm playing against here. Oh man. Okay. So, um I have one, two, three, four, five. Uh this horse pocket just says draw one card. Don't mind if I do.
It's the watcher. And that means I've delivered the letter. I did the card. I'm sorry. Maybe we'll have to play.
What the heck?
Uh okay. I think Baradun is cursed for good even though I've only drawn two extra cards from it. Well, that's
no one extra card.
Anyway,
what is it?
Um, okay. You may play a monster card from your discard pile this turn. Unfort nothing in my discard.
Got it.
But one, two, three, four, five, six.
Jeez.
Pretty good. Discard one card in the market or quest line and replace it.
Now, Bailey, as we play for second place, uh, it's the points are not just on the quest cards. We do get points for each card that it'll say here like plus XP.
Oh, wonderful.
Yeah. So, we are going to have a few points.
So, we're going to be battling against each other while Becca's off completing quests and being the local hero. Thank you. I really like my horse pocket. So, I don't want you guys to have one. I will discard and draw something new. Valid.
Charisma ring. Yeah, baby. One, two, three, four, five, six. Perfect. Charisma ring.
I just counted six on mine. And since I played an attack card, I get to draw six now.
Eight. And I pass.
Okay.
Oh, I do take this.
Yeah, I get to play my hero. So I um in my ability draw a card. It's another buff. Not really what I wanted, but what symbols are Oh man, I need some lightning bolts. Okay. Uh I guess I'm going to go
draw some cards. Yeah, I could bury to draw cards,
but the microtransaction,
the microtransactions, I get the two gold and then I bury them for to draw cards. Is that correct?
That's right. No, no, it's instead of the two gold. If you bury it, you don't get the gold.
I want the gold because I'm going to have one, three, five, six, seven, eight. And I get this one right here.
Main black. Throw it on our camera here.
Three gold. And it is an attack card. I'm going to Every player is going to roll a d20. And then if they roll less than me, they're going to discard two.
That'd be very good in my deck.
I check my symbols. They are no good. And I pass my turn.
Okay. Well, they're they're good. They're good.
They're okay.
Okay. I'm going to roll I'm going to roll a card.
Oh, good luck.
Roll a card. Whatever. I don't know what I'm doing. An eight. And eight means I get one gold. Hooray.
Nice.
Um I may put up to two cards from my discard pile on the bottom of my deck because of my cute bra. So, I'm gonna do this one and also roll that one.
Steve, the bottom of my deck.
Okay.
And there's two cards in my deck. So, now there's four cards in my deck.
Um, okay. So, I have two, three, four, five, six, which is pretty exciting. Um,
play my cards face down this time.
I have many options. Um, I'm gonna, here's what I'm going to do. I'm going to buy this necromancer. I like her. She says, "You may play a hero card from your discard pile this turn." That feels like it might come up. I don't know.
Okay.
Plus, I just like her makeup.
She's got to her that I enjoy.
I see her.
It's a vibe.
It's a vibe.
Yep.
All right. Migo.
Yes. You go. Flock of chickens attack. Each rival chooses and discards a card from their hand. If you don't mind,
you going to Oh, it's each run.
It's everybody.
Dang it. I'll get rid of this debuff.
I have to shuffle.
All right. Not so fast.
But good job playing face down this time.
And then I will play the death knight.
Um, there's no discarded quest, so I can't do the other ability, but I do get three gold.
Oops. Sorry for bonking. Okay.
And then three buffs and a debuff. So 1, two, three, four, five, six, seven. I'm one away from the top tier raider. Play any card from your discard pile this turn. That's awesome. I could afford a gold farmer. Um, Shade Away feels like it could really help me to get my third quest.
What was that noise?
Uh, you may discard any number of cards from your hand and then draw that many cards. And there are so many green symbols in the quest now available. So,
I think that I should take shade away. Um, and then let's see. Uh, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven. This only costs five. So, I'll get a microtransaction cuz I can just bury it to draw a card next time or use the loot symbol if I need it. Okay, that's it for me.
Okay. Um, not much going on here except a suspicious card. I look at the top part of my deck. I may choose to bury it. Nope, I don't want to do that. So, 2, three, four, five. Unfortunately, Becca took the lightning bolt symbol that I wanted.
So, now um
I guess heroes draw you cards.
Yeah. Let's get this hero here. The gold farmer, please.
There you go.
Thank you. That's my turn. You're up, Bailey.
Oh, a green one. Oh, it's a horse pocket.
Hey, those are good.
All right, this is my hand. I've already drawn it. And I discarded a debuff when Becca told me to cuz I'm really good at this game. So, I have Steve. I have a troll. I have a buff. and I have vampires. So, uh oh,
um I'm going to attack. Bury a card from your hand or discard pile. If you bury a starter card, you may give it to a rival instead. I'm going to bury this debuff on Becca because I think it's the one she gave me, so it seems only fair.
That is fair.
Um okay. Um, I am going to bury this buff, giving me plus one. I mean, it would give me plus one anyway, but I'm going to get rid of it. So, now this is my hand and I'm going to probably should have rolled first. I'm actually, you know what? Pretend I didn't do that. Okay,
I'm going to roll first.
Yeah,
I played this in the right order and everyone agrees.
Everyone agrees.
Good luck.
Thanks, Ruelle. Um, okay. I get plus one gold. So that's that's great. So I am going to still do that. So now I have two, four, five, six, seven gold, which is pretty cool. I'm a dragon ofrog. Could do that. Look at the top card of your deck. You may bury it, discard it, or put it back. At the end of your turn, you may put dragon ofarog on the bottom of your deck.
Pretty good. That's really good.
That does seem really good. Um,
but a horse pocket is available.
I am noticing that there's a lot of green.
Yeah. And you've already got red covered. You've got three.
You kind of have red covered. So, I think what I'm going to do, you might get another green off the top.
Is I'm going to get this horse pocket. So, now I'm down to
five gold.
A green you can afford. I'm gonna get this green. Away from keyboard. Away from keyboard. You may discard all cards in the market. Replace them with cards from the top of the market deck. And that's my freaking turn. I like the flavor on that. All right. Here's me. Buff. Buff. Buff. Buff. Microtransaction. Microtransaction. That's boring. So, I'm actually going to bury both my microtransactions and draw two cards. Well, let's do Yeah. Yeah. Can you bury those for me? Mhm.
And we'll draw two lag
and another microtransaction which I will bury and draw five.
Do it again.
Yeah. Okay, we've got five buffs. Boo. And one lag action. You may discard one card in the market or quest line and replace it. Okay. Five. Six with my lag. Unfort I can't get that dragon, but it's so good. I kind of want to discard it. There's Fireheart and Gronk Boy. If you play another hero card, draw a card. I do love drawing. There's also Muggers, which is an attack, which allows me to draw an extra card.
All rivals roll a d20 if they roll lower, choose a random card from their hand, and discard it. Oh my gosh. Probably going to get that. But first, I'm going to
get rid of this card I can't afford because I'm jealous.
And see what's in there. Another muggers. Okay.
Muggers. Muggers.
I said I have six. So, we'll take the muggers.
Three more microtransactions.
Oh, man. Fireheart and Grock boy is an extra XP, though. But I need the attack if you play another hero. Yeah. Okay. Okay.
All right. And that's it.
Bailey, could you pass me the lucky d20, please?
Oh, I think it's that one over there.
That one that no one's touching,
cuz I'm going to play my charisma ring first. I roll d20. See what happens. It is a 19.
I swear to God, we broke it. Gain a card from the top of the market deck. So, I just get one for free.
Actually, that's not I didn't play.
Thank you.
Level one noob.
Should be here. So,
so I've done that. I'm going to skip dialogue. I may place a card from my discard pile on top of my deck. So, let me disc or no, I'm going to take um Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh, this might be interesting. Um, what's out there? Dang it. Really? There's no lightning bolts. Okay, I am going to place this one on top of my deck. Then I've got my hero, my first hero. I get to draw a card. Oh, look. It's a sus suspicious card. I look at the top card of my deck. I may choose to bury it. I will bury it.
Bye-bye, buff buff.
Okay. And then now I just look at my symbols and my money. I don't think I have the right symbols for anything.
Two green or two red and a green.
Nope. Okay.
Alas.
But I do have money. One.
Alas.
Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Seven.
That's so many money.
I really wanted this eight. Okay.
Dang.
Oh well. Uh, let's go to seven.
Three microtransactions.
Yeah.
Uh, three.
Let's go with I have so many hero cards. I really want Oh, you know what? I'll do trash mob for two. So, I have five left to spend. Come on, Lightning Bolt.
Nope. Herbalist. That costs six.
Yay. And by yay, I mean boo.
Oh, you can block with it.
Yeah. Let me get that hero right here. Yeah, it's really good with your uh garlic farmer power.
And that's the end of my turn.
Going to be drawing some cards with that. All right, Bailey. Okay, let's see what I have.
All right, I've got my bard. I've got my breastplate of Argon. I've got my buff. I've got my debuff. And I've got my necromancer. I am going to roll for the Bodger first. Bodger. Bodger. Bodger. Bodger.
11.
Hey, there you So that's a plus one gold. And then for the bard,
four.
Four. That's plus two gold. So I get plus three gold this turn.
Um I may put up to two cards from my discard pile on the bottom of my deck. I think I will.
How about these guys?
The two greens you just got. Pretty good.
Uh I may play a hero card for my discard pal this turn. Just monsters in here. Can't do that. But thanks, Necromancer. So, okay, it was three, four, five, six. Not the most robust numbers, but by everything except this last card, though.
Or three of these.
That's true. Or three microtransactions. Um, I'm Oh, dude, you can get so many microtransactions with that. Let's see. I'm going to take the level one noob for two. Here's a new option. Oh, another fire heart and grank boy.
Oh, I'll take that.
And I will take a fire heart and crank eventually.
Okay,
here's a green though. You just need eight gold for it. Ruel,
I need Oh, wait. How much is it? Eight.
Yeah, that's the end of my turn.
All right, I'm going to start with flock of chickens. Uh, if you all could discard a card from your hand or give me a block.
That's for both of us.
For both of you.
Block it. Uh, discard this card. Stop an attack. Draw a card.
Okay, Billy. I'm going to discard this. Okay, then I've got
Oh, that totally
the death knight. Uh-oh. Sorry. Sorry. Not that sorry. Shade away. Discard any number of cards from your hand, then draw that many cards. I'll discard both a buff and a debuff to draw two. Steve and horse pocket which says draw a card. I'll draw one more. It's a buff. Steve says I'm attacking again. Bury a card from your hand or discard pile. If you bury a starter card, you may give it to a rival instead. I'm hoping Ruel already
uh played his blocks right now. So, here's a debuff.
And uh I played my block. Ah, okay. You have
Does it go to my hand or no? To my discard pop.
You could get any quest here. So, I'm pretty sure that um
green, green, red, red. I will be taking find the secret to
really an easy puzzle. That's
triggering the ame. Uh,
three easy puzzles.
All right. So, let's see what
Oh gosh. Okay.
Um, so I just rechecked the rules. The game ends immediately right now.
No, wait. We played out um who played first? Garlic Farmer.
But because I was last, it does end immediately. Yeah, that's
same. Yeah. Sorry y'all. All right. GG.
GG. Last turn.
That was a That was a gnarly last game.
Five, six, seven, eight. Let me just buy something right here. Okay, great. Count up your XP.
Wow.
Howdy. I think Baradon is a very strong card.
Well played, Becca.
Although, maybe I didn't even use it that much. I just got lucky, y'all.
That was uh Well played.
You had The game owed it to you.
It did. I failed so badly last round. I I lost by a lot. Or last time we played this, I lost by a lot.
17 XP.
17. Pretty good.
Okay, let's see. All right. 12 20
18.
Whatever. Ruel. I had two microtransactions at the end. How'd you do a microtransaction?
I had one 31.
31. Oh my god.
That's who you get for doing all that questing.
Well done, Becca.
The quests were in my favor. That worked out nicely. Thanks so much to Viva Dirt League and Creative Studios for making this lovely little deck builder, NPC Rivals, pulling in all of the lore and fantastical bits from Viva Dirt Le's many campaigns and awesome videos. Bailey, thanks for playing with us.
Oh my god, thanks for having me. I got stomped, but in my defense, it was my very first time playing. And to be fair, using a cursed eye for most of the game.
You did make enemies with this skull. Let's just say real quick.
Skull and I are going to have words afterward.
19.
Just a little salt on the wound there.
I go 20 right now.
Yeah. Nat 20. Not 20. 15 is still the highest number I rolled.
Pretty good. Pretty good. Rule, how was your second time as the garlic farmer?
Uh, I still enjoy this, but not as much as to my previous time when I actually won. But
you did amazingly.
You played well. Uh, it was a well played game. And Bailey, welcome to the world of NPC Rivals.
Thank you. I love it. And it's going like things normally do when I start an RPG where I am losing immediately and don't know how to play.
Okay.
Yay. Not true at all. Bailey, you're an expert gamer. In fact, you can read about Bailey's gamer
zone. Yeah,
not a corner. I was going to call it. It's Mattiey's Movie Corner and Bailey's Gamer Zone.
Yeah, we couldn't really figure out the
corner. There's a corner and a zone. Uh, and uh check that out in our newsletter. You can find at bit.ly/
newspap this week. So, uh, please sign up because there's a lot of fun stuff in our newsletter. We're really proud of it. Everybody contributes. Rule does a game review every week as well. Um, Ruel, what else you got going on?
Uh, the big thing for me is Gamma Expo next week. Um, I'll be going there with Bailey and Jake. First one.
I'm so excited.
We're going to check out all the hot new games and I'm really excited about that. So,
yeah. Gamma is uh an expo that is primarily for game publishers and um local retailers. So, if you own a game store, hope you're going to Gamma. You might get to see these two. I'm going to be chilling here, holding it down. Uh but we will be off next week for Good Morning Society. We'll be back the following week. Bailey, are you streaming anything anytime soon you want to shout out?
Yeah, I'm streaming tonight at 6:30 p.m. on my personal channel, Bailey Versus Predator. Don't know what I'm going to play with, but I have been playing a lot of Hades 2 this week, so statistically probably that. Awesome.
Nice.
All right, I think that's all from us. Y'all ready?
Yeah.
Play some games, will you?
