Top 5 Board Games We Played in September 2026 | New Experiences, Light to Heavy, Canadian Events!

played a prototype of my own game. But we'll we'll get there. We'll get there.
Hello everybody. My name is IA
and my name is Tyler. Together we make up Grey, a couple that loves to play board games.
And today we're here to tell you about our top five games of
September. Can you believe it's October?
No, I can't. It's crazy. How crazy is it?
Crazy. Crazy.
We're both a little bit sick.
Mhm. So, if you see my face drooping in slow motion,
it's just a change of the weather. I don't know if anybody else experiences this.
It is not the change of weather sick, but
uh Tyler got sick cuz he was traveling.
No, no, it was change of weather for me. It went from like plus 25° C to like 8 or 15° to 8 to 15° C. And that's when my body was like, you can still go outside, but also here's a sickness. Hey, you know, I thought I avoided it because I I didn't get sick like the five days that he was sick and I'm like, you know what? Maybe my immune system is doing better. Maybe I'm stronger. And then, nope. I woke up one day and I was just
from me. Oopsies. [sighs and gasps]
Rude. How was the rest of September? Tell us about it, Tyler.
I traveled quite a bit. We traveled quite a bit, I guess, cuz we were in Costa Rica,
which was beautiful,
which was also part of August, I guess. Y and then I was uh at a work conference and then I went to a work retreat right afterwards. So,
and is there any B-roll from those experiences, Tyler?
No. Oops.
So, you'll have to imagine him. Business business. I didn't have to wear a suit, so we're okay.
We were still business. When you do business, do you do shoulders?
Business business. Toss toss
toss toss. Business business.
Otherwise, it was good. September was nice. It was It felt very long. Um I don't know. That's about it.
It did feel long, but in a good way.
Like I feel like there was just a lot of friend gettogethers. We had a lot of nice game nights. There's also Play the North which was the first event in all of Canada where
inaugural event
inaugural event where four publishers came together in Side Up Games,
KTBG, Burnt Island, Off the Page Games, and
Roxley
and they got together and there was a lot free gaming
all weekend. They were showcasing some of their future products and just sharing the joy of Canadian board games, which we also did not take a lot of B-roll for.
We were too involved in the games.
Imagine us gaming, gaming, gaming, gaming. But we did uh get invited to hang out at our friends who were staying at an Airbnb.
And there was a really interesting feature of the Airbnb.
Oh, yeah. It was like a climbing wall that fell into a net above the living room to watch TV. It was It was a really cool place.
It was It was pretty cool. It was pretty cool. It's not what you would expect, but it was pretty cool, especially on Airbnb.
But that was our September. Many many adventures and October is very exciting because we will for the very first time be at
Essen Spiel 2026
and we'll talk about that in another video. But here,
how excited are you, Tyler? Show them your facial expression. Just picture the Zootopia sloth getting very excited.
Yep. That's Tyler. The excitement slowly eases in and then he'll be just just dandy.
Yep. Exactly.
But we will have a video soon of all the games that we're sculping out and how you can find us, the pins that we will have because we will once again have pins. So, keep an eye out for that cuz that's very fun.
Free pins. Yeah. Yeah.
Now, Tyler, it's your favorite part.
Stats.
Board game statistics.
Yeah. Let's get back into it.
I have my little notebook.
All right. That's yours.
Are you ready to hear my statistics?
Mhm.
In the month of
September,
we had 55 plays
of 29 different games.
Nice.
Now, 20 of those games were new to us.
Wow.
That was a big new games month.
Good job us.
Good job us. Now, how many people do you think we played with
if you were to guess?
14.
22 different people, not including us. So, 24 players total.
Us.
And how many hours do you think we played for?
I don't know.
30 hours.
30 [snorts] hours.
Just a bit over a day.
Yeah. I'm surprised by that.
You think it'd be more?
Yeah.
Well, you were traveling and getting me sick.
Oh, I did play a lot of games at that retreat,
which Tyler also did not calculate for me cuz a lot of them were prototypes.
Mhm. Well, some of them weren't, but still.
So, realistically, our stats should be higher.
Yeah, they should be.
How dare you, Tyler? Everyone give him grief.
No.
Go in the comments down below and tell him that he should be doing a better job capturing stats and B-roll when he adventures by himself. Well, with that out of the way, it is now your real favorite part because you did not take a lot of B-roll. And as a joyous way to fill a little bit of time,
no,
I maybe have five honorable mentions.
You can't have five. You can't have five. It's a top five list. You can't have the exact same number on on your honorable list. It says
it's just common courtesy.
Okay, fine. I can have four.
I knew you were going to say that.
How did you know?
Let's hear them.
Well, first up we have Monopoly Deal.
Nice.
I have heard really good things about this game and we finally got to play it.
Not you finally got to play it. I played it before.
You When did you play it?
I played it with my family.
Tyler always does things without me. It's not exactly a new game.
Well, I liked it.
Well, yeah, that's fine.
It was fun and I crushed it.
This says 2024, but I feel like this version
this version. I know it's an older game. Exactly.
But it is great. I really enjoyed it. I want to play it again. And I especially want to play the No Mercy version.
The No Mercy one.
So I can be ruthless. Lots of fun. It's a distilled down Monopoly game in just cards.
Mhm.
Next. Tyler has not played this one yet. No,
it is canar nar
nar
nar
nar
the art in this game
it looks pretty pretty
and not only does it look pretty it plays brilliantly you're essentially playing cards you're building mini engines you're sacrificing those engines to get ahead and score points and it's a race to points it was I can't believe it took me this long to play this game and I will not let the same mistake happen for Tyler Tyler will play this game with me soon because he will really like it
it's And that we've had it for the same amount of time.
Yes. But it's been on my radar.
Nice.
It's been less on your radar. Now that I've played it and enjoyed it immensely, it's time for you to play it.
You're right. You're right.
Sometimes I just got to bet games for you.
Mhm.
That's my number two. My number three is treeine.
Mhm.
Which is really clever, very thinky, and I want to play it more. But essentially, you're flipping cards and you're placing little people, and you're trying to get controls and columns and rows so you can have control of the castles. Yeah.
So, you'll have less to work with, but they'll get energized. They'll get all buzzy.
Uh, it's a really puzzly type of game where every decision matters. And I want to explore more. I have a lot of thoughts.
Yeah. It's like a really quick game, too, in the sense that like it should only take 20 minutes to play, and it does, but the decisions you have to make are very like thinky. So, it's it's a neat little area control area majority.
Exactly. And the game that has won my heart this month.
Grabble.
Grabble. This game I have to tell you how it works because it's freaking brilliant. Everybody has a cup. Billy and Tyler have a cup. I say 3 2 1. We start grabbing things and putting them into our cup which is on the table. As soon as one of our cup feels like it's full, you'll grab the meatle. Then the other person stops. Well, I say countdown. 5 4 3 2 1. You stopped because you took so long. You gave me one of your items. Now we secretly hide what we have got. And one by one, I say I call out Meo and I throw Meo back into the box. Tyler does not have meo. He's out. [clears throat] And that's the game. Once everybody's out, one person remains standing. That's the game. It is so much fun. There's also golden bananas. There's little pigs. There's G's. I it's a game that we've played is shown to so many different people and I it is a perfect filler game at the beginning or the end of the game night and I am not bored of it yet and I really like it and I want to show it to more people. That's why it is my honorable mention.
I'm surprised it's not your top five.
Honestly, it was really The thing is is this month the top five was a really contested top five.
I see. I will say there's games that purely did not make my top five because they are on your list,
which is not fair.
Supposed to do that,
but I can't have a top 10. You don't even let me have audible mentions. I want games to be talked about because they're very good.
Fine.
My number five is
this one right here.
Yes.
Okay. Courtroom.
Courtroom.
Boom. I am in the era, as you will see from my games this month, of I love something that feels a little bit different.
And this one feels so different than anything I've ever played because,
well, let's not get too ahead of it. Let's tell you about courtroom first. Courtroom is a game where you'll take the side of the prosecution or defense. A court case will be presented to you and then you will gather evidence. You will ask witnesses questions about set evidence and then you'll come up with a closing argument and hopes of scoring more points so that your side indeed wins.
The clever part of this game is that there's no answer to the court. It is dependent on how your team does. And the feeling that I really enjoyed in this game is that when I played both sides where I played defense and prosecution and both times I got evidence, I'm just like the other team's going to win. Yeah,
the other team is going to win because everything is pointing to the murder
where I'm trying to defend them. And when I was on the other team, I was just like, the other team has won. They're obviously innocent. There's no there's nothing there's nothing that is going on. And I love that element of it because we sat together in those teams and we're trying to put together pieces of facts. There's no red herrings. There's no loose information. It is facts. M
and then the way that the game is scored is your closing argument has different things that you have to say and then you'll get points if you say those facts
and the mechanics and the distilled simplicity cuz courtroom cases are complex. There's a lot of complexities. This is a very distilled experience
but it just feels so good and so different and I can't wait to play the rest of these.
I think this is a game that for me is more about the experience than the actual end of it. Uh the scoring for me to be honest was sort of lost. I was like it's it was great to work with the team to put together the story but I think at the end of it I was like yeah I did what I could but I wasn't super thrilled about winning or losing.
Is it cuz you lost?
No I won the first time.
I won the first time.
No.
What do you mean? I won the first time, but regardless, actually, I think it was a tie, which also which maybe that's why I didn't feel so great is
because a tie goes to the defense.
I don't know. But that Yeah. So, I was the defense.
I thought I was a defense.
I was the defense. That's why I won. But still, like that's what I mean is it it just like sort of fell short for me there. But that that being said, the experience of the game and puzzling and make and drawing these lines were like that was fun.
It was. It's a ton of fun. But that is courtroom. That is my number five. My number five is this one. It's [clears throat] a heavy one. Class of 89. Class of 89 is a yearbook making game where you're basically just placing workers into four or five different zones during your turn. Each of those workers have like special abilities that you're able to utilize in addition to taking the actions that are at each space. As you do this, you're going to be taking photos of teachers, taking photos of students, putting them into your yearbook and lining them up in alphabetical order to make sure that you're scoring these points, gathering all these these badges to put on top of your cards to make even more scoring happen. And it's just this interesting puzzle of like it starts to work and then it doesn't start to work and then you have to figure out how to make it work. And I think that that uh adaptability of the game is really important to me and that's what I look for in these games because I don't want people to be able to come in with this like onetrack mind of a strategy that they can go for the entire time. So I like this um on the-ly decision making something work out of what you're given kind of thing.
And you're building a whole page spread of different events that have occurred. It looks it's pretty interesting because you start out like with a blank page essentially and then as the game progresses you just see
the enrichment that happened that year and it's it's pretty great.
You're not going to be able to fill everything out of course but it's making it work with what you got and that's why I liked Class of 89 so much.
Number five.
My number four
is also my number four
and it is
this game right here. Also heavy corpse of Discovery. This is a cooperative deduction game where you're basically going to be given a scenario or choose a scenario and there's a set of rules that you must follow, a objective that you must complete to be able to win the game and you're sort of puzzling your way through it trying to cooperatively determine where stuff is. that you'll need to collect resources, survive the day, work through these puzzles that you're given, and do it as a team because everybody has certain unique abilities or unique gear that they're given to make themselves progress forward in the in the game.
Where this game shines is a logic puzzle. Like there is one of those elements where if this is here,
it has to be next to this thing in one of these spaces. And as you put tokens all on the board, you try to deduce where everything is. Everything just comes together and it feels so good and you really thematically really enter that discovery mode because you do discover what you need to discover and find the solutions to what you're trying to solve.
The scenario that we did, we had to kill off minotaurs, but we had to find them, but we didn't know how to kill them.
So, we had to find a way to kill them as well. And it was such a joy playing this game. I can't believe it took us this long to play this game. And now I want to play all of this game. And there's so much content.
There's so much content. And the thing about this too is because it's cooperative, you would think, okay, with a logic puzzle, most people could just be like, oh, I'm kind of taking over. But that's sort of avoided when you have so many rules that you have to keep in mind. And they're changing every different scenario that you hop into. And there might be other things that are more important to you based on the events that are coming up. So it's this like back and forth between, oh, I think this could be here. and then somebody else will chime in and be like, "No, no, no. That's not how the logic works." Or maybe like, "Look here. It's already being like this is already being met." Things along those lines. It was very nice to see that there was no way to like overpower um the table by like outwitting them, I guess you could say. But I think that also I I've said this before and we've said this before, but that depends on the people you're playing with as well. I think that we had a good group of people that we were playing with, so it made it very fun and like we were bouncing off of each other.
Well,
I think I would really like this as a two because we play as a four. I think this would be a great two-player game. I think we would crush it.
Yeah. Yeah. There's a lot of different puzzles that I'm really interested in doing. I was like looking through some of the scenarios and they look Anyways, that's our that's our number four. Corpse of Discovery.
Yay. All right. My number three is a game called Got Five. I feel like we may or may not have talked about this game before, but
what do you mean may or We obviously have.
This is a great game and we are going to continue to talk about it. It's a very quick probably 15 maybe 20-minute game uh that is a logic puzzle. It's a race to get your number sequence the fastest. And I just think that I've had such a good time uh showing this to a lot of people because you see their brains like click and then they usually want to play it again. And that is like one of the feelings that we really really strive to find in games, especially with people who don't play a lot of board games or who are maybe more um entry level into the hobby space. I think that this is like a great start game to get the table going to get everybody in the right mindset and then they'll hop into another game. But all this is is you're simply going to be asking one of two questions about a tile that's in front so everybody can see it. And then you get information based on that for your sequence that you have. You get to cross off all of these numbers. Hope that you find it the fastest because if you do, you scream got five. If you're right, you win. If you
you scream it.
Yeah. If you're wrong, you're out. Eliminated.
You've always said got five. You've never screamed it.
Oops. My bad. Now, on the other fun news is they just announced an expansion.
Nice.
God five ghost.
What does it mean? Will some tiles get a little cloth on them?
You don't know what this is and you never will.
Well, we will find out and we'll tell you once we know.
That's my number three. Got five.
Great. Number three. My number three is Shu Gendo.
This one right here.
I loved this.
It's a beautiful game. Let's just say it
is. I will first of all I will say that this is one of the most beautiful games I have seen on the table. There's just little elements in this game that really shine like
it's just different. It's different.
It also I will say it's a crime because some of the coolest illustrations are covered by the decks.
Yeah. Yeah.
But they're so cool and you're just drawn to all these little Yo-kai and creatures and villagers and the illustration style in this game is just outstanding. But not only the illustration good, the gameplay itself is fantastic. You're essentially pushing your luck by drawing cards
to see if you bust or not by hitting a certain amount of symbols. And depending if you bust or not is how many actions you can do. You can either get a bunch of symbols and progress on tracks and take one of the three actions which have you exploring, expanding, and developing your little village. Or
and you can recruit
because if you bus you have to choose one of them, but if you don't bus, you can do both. And based on the cards you reveal, you'll move on tracks, you'll get coins, you'll recruit more cards, and you'll score victory points based on what you've built in your little village. The cards that you have recruited, the villagers, everything just flows together so smoothly
and I had an absolute joy playing this game.
Yeah,
it sort of reminded me of like Mystic Veil and Quacks of Quentinberg. Okay. Like if you if you take those push your luck elements and then put it put it into this uh game, that's like what you're getting, I think. So if you like those two games, you're definitely going to enjoy this one.
And I feel like it didn't feel as like there is definitely a push your luck element, but I don't think I would define this as a push your luck game.
No, no, no. It's part of it because like and I think in Mystic Veil you can get away with like busting and then still doing stuff. And I think in this game like you actually might be encouraged to bust to take certain actions uh because you're I mean you're not gonna have valuable actions of doing both.
And it depends on your deck cuz you're deck building throughout as well cuz every time you get a card you're replacing
replacing a card deck crafting I don't know how to call really call it but it is a brilliant game. I can't wait to play it more. And that is
Shagendo.
Yes we have another crossover for our number two. And that is this game right here called Night at the Zoo.
Tyler, this has been on our anticipated list so many times.
Did it live up to the hype?
Uh, yes. Yes.
Why did you hesitate?
Because Because, okay, here's the thing. It It is
I think I was thinking it was going to be heavier than it was,
but I also didn't really have any expectations coming in in that sense besides that I was that it was hyped up.
What do you mean? You just said you thought it was heavier but you didn't have expectations. Yeah, that's a contradiction.
I know. But it doesn't matter. That's what I said. I said what I said. Get over it. Anyways, it did meet expect it did meet the expectations once I started going with it. It's a hard puzzle, that's for sure. But it is a lot of fun because you're basically there's three animals in this zoo that you're trying. They escaped the zoo.
Yeah. So, they've escaped the zoo and they're trying to get back.
And the way that they'll do that is we're going to collect tiles. We're going to place those tiles. And sometimes placing those tiles will trigger some actions. And sometimes if you discard a tile, all the animals on that tile type will move forward.
Now, different animals have different moving conditions and different scoring conditions. And because each game has different animals and combinations of animals, it becomes tricky tricky.
Mhm. You've got to basically like decide how you want to use all of your things. And there's so many decisions that you have to make on this game where it's like, do I place these matching tiles down so I can get this thing? Do I not place them down so I can instead get this or I can move them forward? Or which of these animals are the easiest to move in? And there's just like a lot of questions you have to ask yourself in order to uh do stuff. And the problem is is that you're not going to be able to do a lot of these things. You're not going to be able to do everything. So, you have to be able to tell yourself or figure it out for yourself how you're going to do it the most efficiently given the tiles that are showing up and what everybody else is taking around you.
It's not going to work out.
It's not easy.
You think you're going to get them all home?
No.
You're not.
This game is really about committing to it, though, cuz if you don't, then you've already you've sort of wasted a turn.
You've lost already.
Yeah. And then and then you're like stuck. And this game can literally be you missing out on one single animal while the other person was able to do exactly that and then they'll score those points.
It is so clever.
It's tight.
What was your favorite animal?
Uh I don't know if my most favorite, but the one that I can think of right now is the sloth.
That's my favorite.
That's not my favorite. I think the penguin would be my favorite because it just slides, which I think is really fun. The sloth is too slow. The
sloth is so hard to move. It's so hard to move.
Well, cuz it's it takes its time.
I know, but you have to like fully commit to the sloth. And I want the other animals to get home, too.
But you need to help the sloth. You can't just abandon it cuz it's a little slow.
You're right. You're right. You're right.
But we're still We played all the base game animals, and we're excited because we're going to play some of the expansion animals as well. So, this won't be the first time you're hearing of this game.
Won't be the last time you're hearing of this game. Correct. Because this is the first time that we've brought it out here. We've talked about it before.
Mentioned it in the anticipated,
but that is Night at the Zoo. All right. My number one. We don't actually own this game, but our friends had played it with us and showed it to us, and that is Entropy. Entropy is a solar system building game, or I don't want to say solar system. Uh, it's like a Yeah, it's like an ecosystem planet building game where you're going to be setting up microbes who then turn into plants who then convert into animals, but you're also going to be making different stars that have planets next to them. And it's just this giant heavy rondelle game. And the cool thing about this rondelle is that when you go around, you're allowed to move up to three spaces, but you have to move on to these spaces based on how many people are there. And if you move into them the same space as somebody or sorry if you take a space you get the immediate the best possible action. But if you move another space you get the second best and then so on until you don't get anything basically. That being said if other people are occupying the space you also get worse actions. And that I think is a really interesting balance of like when is the best time for me to take these actions? Do I actually need the best thing? Because usually it's like you'll go to take this basic action and you'll get more resources for example or you'll get a conversion or you'll be able to draw cards, all those types of things. But it's interesting because you have to leave the piece there and there are multiple two spaces with those actions, those main actions on the
board. If you go to the next one, you're actually unable to take that action unless you have your wild one, which you'll get eventually, but you're locked in based on these uh workers that you have left and then will eventually collect back up. It's quite an interesting and thinky game with a lot of different decisions that you can make, a lot of different scoring that can happen, and it's basically about juggling all of that and figuring out how to do it the best. So any sort of optimization that happens is like right down my alley. I think that these games are a lot of fun. I had thought in the first game that we played that I was like not going to get any endgame scoring, but I had built up an engine that was so good early on that I was just funneling all of these points into my into my system already and that paid off in the end. I was a little nervous, but it's one of those things where you can go for a lot of different strategies.
It did not pay off for me because I went for a lot of different strategies and I did not really commit to one of them really well.
But I had a lot of fun because like Tyler said, you're just building the universe from scratch. You're putting on planets, you're putting on microbes, eventually there'll be animals, and there's just such a gorgeous table presentation with this game. And it's one of those games that I'm want to play again and again to discover different elements and what the strategies and what I could do to really be better at this game.
Yeah. And like our friend told us, which I will pass on this advice to you if you have not played it. Do not or I guess make sure you have microbes.
Don't sleep on the microbes.
Yeah. Do not That's what I was trying to say. Don't sleep on them because they are really important when it comes to really doing anything, especially later on in the game. So,
just like bacteria in real life,
keep your eye out for them.
Exactly.
Anyways, entropy, my number one.
And my number one is fragments.
Ah, it's right here. Boom. Let me paint a picture for you.
This is a very
pick that I would have not guessed this to be on my number one. I am surprised at this as well, but this is how it happened. Tyler was napping. He was grumpy. I was like, "What should I do? Should I film a video? Should I read a book? Should I watch a TV show?" And I was like, "Huh, this is a solo game and there's like a really neat puzzle mechanic in it."
Was I actually napping?
Yeah.
Oh.
So, I was like, "Maybe, maybe
I should try the tutorial and just see what it's about cuz I'm intrigued. I'm intrigued about this game. That's the reason we have it."
No, I was at volleyball.
Anyways, he was grumpy.
I'm grumpy now. But I played the tutorial and I will show you a little bit of the tutorial here because I don't want to spoil anything. And then I finished the tutorial which was only 5 to 10 minutes. It was a really quick game. And then I played the whole game.
Mhm. And I was just enamored by the mechanics, the unique elements of this game and just how it made me feel. Because essentially what this game is, it's a narrative driven story that utilizes puzzle pieces to tell the story and how puzzle pieces align. You may read a certain section. If certain pieces line up a certain way or fit, you may be able to flip them and the story progresses. And that simple mechanic, how it is utilized in this game.
Mhm. mindboggling. I finished the game and I'm like, I need more. And then I learned that there's an eight hour campaign that looks like a big cuba box
in this.
No, that is coming out next year.
And I it is going to be my number one anticipated game.
Oh,
of next year. Like I just know it because
I was you this is a Tyler still has not play. We have not done our bingo. We will cut after to do our bingo. But Tyler still has not played a solo game. And I need you to channel my excitement and tell Tyler to play this one cuz it's only an hour and a half.
Okay.
I think you will like it a lot.
Maybe. Maybe. But if you have an opportunity to try this game, I would highly encourage you to do so and just share your experience with me because I it's been a long time since I felt this strongly about a game and I was so excited to share it with you here today.
So, we will talk more fragments as time goes on.
And look how gorgeous it is.
Is that a little mouse? A mouse lion.
That's a mouse lion.
The mouse lion is a core story element. It's cute.
Gorgeous queen. All right, fragments, you're number one.
That's a good That was a good month of gaming.
It was.
What did you feel?
Tired.
I'm a little bit sick still.
You might hear cuz
you didn't get healthy from the start of this video all the way until this point.
That's not how that works.
I thought maybe the joy of sharing games could heal me. I didn't notice myself.
It heals the soul
cuz I can't breathe through my nose really well. So, I hope I didn't annoyingly mouth breathe for you. [snorts]
But my CPAP journey has been going by really smoothly for the most part.
Mhm.
And Tyler has been sleeping more restfully cuz I don't snore. Yeah, I guess. Except he breathes on me and then I get sick. How dare he? Oops. Okay. Should we do our bingo? Uh yeah, maybe we should cut to it filming another time. You're done.
I need to fill it out.
We do need to do some research. So, we're going to come back to your bingo. Actually, you know what?
It'll be right now. Ready?
Just kidding. We're going to do it right now.
We're doing it right now. Uh and we're just going rapid fire through it.
Before we do that, I want to announce that we have had some wonderful bingo updates from our Discord members. Yes. So, I'll put them on the screen. There's some fun stories that were shared. There's a completed bingo already for the year.
Oh my gosh. Did somebody get what's that what that's what it's called?
Completely whole thing. I'm getting pretty close.
I think there's a couple that I will not end up doing.
How dare you?
I know. I still haven't played a solo game.
If you don't do that one by the end of the year, I think there needs to be a punishment.
Uh maybe
you'll have to film a solo video for everybody.
You know what? Actually, there is a reason I would play the solo game to specifically get one of my bingos.
Why?
Because I can I'll pro I might do this. I'll do this. I'll do this. I have
You keep saying you keep pointing the stuff, but you're not saying what it is.
We will post our updated bingos on the Discord. So, if you want to go check it out, there's a link down below that you can go hang out uh or click on. Right now, I'm going to tell you that there are a couple spaces that I can see because we haven't filled this out for a month. two months now. Uh cuz we were away for the
rapid fire.
Uh played a prototype of my own game, but we'll we'll get there. We'll get there. That was exciting. Yours.
I'm just going to leave it there. Uh mine are we have definitely played 10 two-player games. I beat Tyler by 50 points, but I think that was an older one. We also finished a campaign game, which is Queen's Dilemma.
Uh we did host the full game day as well. That was really fun. Uh, I did not make board game themed snacks. That was a really missed opportunity there. And I do think we played too much.
You did make board game themed snacks.
What were they?
When we did Queen's Dilemma.
Oh, I did. I don't know if mine were very Other people's themed snacks were 10fold better.
Somebody made ash bread. It was perfect. We Mine were I think I just brought stuff that would maybe fit.
Okay.
So, I'll I'll try to redeem that one still. And I do think we play 250 games in person. I've definitely beat you in 100 games now because 92 out of 100 when this was happening. I I know that happened. We did just finish a game that ended in a tie. So that's fun.
Like exact tie.
I'm going to say this again, but I did play a prototype of my own game.
Uh more to come. And then
Tyler just feeding the crumbs.
I'm sorry. I'm sorry. And then I'm pretty sure we're getting close to this 450 total plays in person, which is pretty exciting. There's a couple of them that I'm I guarantee we played 10 games from our shelf of shame. Now we did. And just as a reminder, our shelf of shame is different than the new games that we have. It does not necessarily count towards all of them. So
there's a shelf of shame and a shelf of opportunity.
Opportunity. They're quite new.
Recent games that we got that we have not played yet. Shame. We feel shame because we have not played.
Exactly. I think that's a I think that's a good wrap though.
Perfect.
Yeah. Now, before we go, we are Canadian, so we thought we would talk about two quick Canadian things.
Number one, there is a Halloween board game day.
I love Halloween
in Ottawa, where you can dress up and play board games all day.
Nice.
Guess what day it is?
Halloween.
Exactly. And it is put on by Chad with an organization called Never Go Meepless Again.
Never Go Meepless.
Meep me.
I like that. Okay.
Me listep. It's a hard thing to say.
Meep.
Meep.
Meepless. Oh, Meepless. Okay.
Meeples.
All right. Anyways.
Anyways, uh they're an organization that puts on a ton of gaming events. They're trying to do more and more and they are Canadian based. So, check them out if that is something you're interested. You want to put on a costume or play some board games. I'll put a link down in the description below. Nice.
And there's currently a crowdfunding project for a Canadian convention also in Ottawa.
This was not planned. Ottawa's just bumping,
but it had it may have one of the best names of all time. Mhm.
It is called CEU Play.
It is. Yeah,
it is brilliant. Uh there's some great special guests. It is. They're just doing a funding right now. But check both of those out because Canadian events are fantastic. Come visit Canada. Come see all the Canadian publishers. Come play Canadian games
and maybe we'll be there.
Maybe we'll be there.
Who knows?
Well, we'll know at one point and we'll probably share in our Discord, which you can join our Discord and learn more about where we are going. We will have our Essen video up soon. And that is our next convention. And I do believe we will be going to Packs Unplugged this year as well.
Yes.
But that said, Tyler, do we have a question of the day today?
Well, the obvious one.
Wait.
Oh,
before we do a question of the day, we have a giveaway winner to announce.
Yes, we do.
We forgot to do it because we were in Costa Rica, but it is here. It is now, and it is for Forest Shuffle Smoky Mountains. And the winner is
Boom. Congratulations.
We'll contact you and get you this delightful game that you will have so much fun with. Yes, exactly.
Thank you so much for all the comments and all our lovely thoughts for our last video there.
But now it is our question of the day. What is it? Uh what were your favorite games that you played in September? What are games that you're looking forward to playing in October? Just let us know what are the what games spoke out to you on our list. All of the questions that we always ask of these videos. Give us your answers down in the comments below.
And when is the last time you felt just this is new, this is this feels cool.
Okay,
cuz I felt that for fragments. So, I want to know when you felt that last about a game.
That's fair.
Well, last but not least, if you enjoyed this video,
make sure you hit that thumbs up button. Hit that subscribe button if you're new here, cuz we love talking board games. Until next time though, we'll see you later. Healthy. Bye. E.
