Live from LA, it's GOOD MORNING SOCIETY with Becca and Ruel!
Transcript
Good morning, society.
Look at OUR BRAND NEW SET.
New set. Who?
You saw it last week, but I wasn't sitting in it last week. Yeah,
you were sitting in it.
I was sitting in it last week. And there's actually some new pillows, I believe, and some lovely new flowers as well.
I stole this from the kitchen area.
Nice.
Which we will be debuting today.
Yeah. So, stick around, folks, for our jacked up matchup. We're actually going to go to the other part of the set.
We're in the apartment. That's what I'm calling it.
Yeah, the apartment. I love it.
The studio apartment.
Yeah. How you doing, Becca?
I'm great.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay.
You know, this camera frame, I can't hide my pregnancy anymore. I noticed. But
uh which is great. It's good thing I told you guys or else you'd BE LIKE, "WHAT? WHAT?
What's going on?
What?"
Yeah.
Yeah. We talked about that a couple of weeks ago. If you tuned in, you saw the big news. Um and uh by the way, thanks for joining us. This is Good Morning Society, episode 88, your weekly dose of board games, beverages, shenanigans.
What was that chuckle I heard coming back from the TD booth? Oh, that's
Who's over there? Hello.
IS THAT WAIT, THAT'S NOT RAY.
That's not Ray.
I'm not Ray.
Who are you?
Hello. I'm Jake Michaels.
Oh, yeah. That's the voice of Jake Michaels, everybody. Who's on the ones and twos today?
The ones and twos. Nice. Right on.
Speaking of the ones and twos, um, I actually went to a club this weekend.
What?
Excuse me?
I've I haven't been to a club in years. I went to a nightclub.
Yeah.
Did you throw it back?
I We threw it down. We we threw it down pretty hard. Um up
left all around. Um dropped it like it was hot. And
you know, Becca, I got to tell you, it was the funniest thing. Michelle and I went to Seafood City. It is a Filipino supermarket that's um chain around California.
Uhhuh.
So, they have this thing now called Late Night Madness. In the middle of the supermarket after it closes, they straight drop a club in there.
What is a supermarket?
It's the craziest, funniest thing.
Amazing.
It's awesome. Uh folks, check it out. See if you can see. They're not sponsor us. I want us to sponsor us. But um
yeah, city sponsor us.
Yeah, we'll do late night madness. So like
that's epic.
It's awesome. At 8:00 DJ's there and there was literally hundreds of people in there.
Like it was insane. Michelle and I like what the heck.
That's crazy.
Yeah, it was so much fun.
I love that there is a bar in the Gelson's which is a fancy grocery store in Hollywood.
There's a bar. Yeah, that there's one at the Hollywood location as well as the um the like uh Los Feliss location. Nice.
And there's something about drinking in the middle of the day under fluorescent lights and then going and getting yourself a snack in the supermarket and coming right back.
Uh there's a group that watches Jeopardy there once a week. Like it's a vibe in the GSON supermarket bar.
I love that.
Yeah.
We should do like a supermarket bar tour, you know? We'll start in G, go to Seafood City. Yeah.
We got to call it a crawl.
It's It's a crawl. Yeah, it's going to be a good time. Um, speaking of good times, you're here in the Good Time Society.
You are. That's where you are. [gasps]
What do we got for them today?
We got plenty of great stuff today. We've got games. We're going to talk about the hottest and latest uh games out there. Uh, we're going to see what actually, why don't we start things off with what's new on our channel.
Okay.
Yeah. What just dropped, Becca? What do we have here?
Why, that would be episode four of Good Time on the Clock Tower. This one is Mad Hatter Fury Road named after my husband's outfit and the way everyone was loving ragging on it the entire episode. Uh there's a compilation of that in the end credits which uh I'm particularly proud of. Um but yeah, this is the ballot of seat 7. So, the Blood on the Clock Tower 2025 script World Cup to find all the best like user generated, player generated scripts and put them in a competition against each other. This is the script that won. And uh the concat is that there is a seat that is a silent seat that can speak once per game through the storyteller's voice. It has a character. It could be the demon. It's plays just like a regular character. We named ours Tyler Durnle. I don't know why.
Tyler D. Is that sort of like from Fight Club? Tyler
Dirt Fight Club reference.
Okay, nice.
Tyler Durtle.
Durtle. I love it.
There's an N in there, I guess. I don't know. You just Yes. And the bit. Um, but I'm really happy with this episode. Uh, I was evil, which is always fun and it worked out so great for me. Um, we did a little watch log if you could come to the premiere yesterday, which I feel like there's a big overlap between our Good Morning Society folks and people who come hang out live. So, I appreciate everybody who came out yesterday to uh hop and chat with me to watch that. And the next one, we'll do another premiere and I'll be in chat in 3 weeks from now on Tuesday.
Yeah. So, there it is, friends. You can check that out on the channel right now. And um, moving right along, we've got some games to talk about. Becca,
I like games. Yeah, we like games here. Um, it's time to reach into our grab bag of games. This is where we talk about the latest and greatest in the board game industry. We're going to kick things off with a project that just went live and they funded immediately in one day. It's Logic and Lore the second edition, an expansion from Weird Giraffe Games.
Well, hold on. They fun cuz they made their goal $9,000. But uh
and they crushed it in a day.
Yeah. So, congrats to them. Also, uh what it are they selling at an inexpensive price?
It's pretty, uh reasonable. Um this is the second edition. So, they came out with this game last year and they abs they just totally sold out and they're like, "We need to come out with a second edition."
Awesome.
And this is the second edition. And what they did was they included an expansion now to it as well. M
in logic and lore it's a two-player game and you're trying to deduce where your numbers are and trying to line them up in ascending order 1 through nine and you're going to do that uh through your you're going to ask the your opponent questions.
So that's a great look.
Yeah, it's sort of like 20 questions and then you're going to be have the option to either depend on the information you get. Can you or will you move your cards to the left or right or whatever? There's different goals you can reach. And yeah, it looks lovely. Um,
is it competitive or are you trying to help your
competitive? So, at any point you can just declare, okay, I know where all my numbers are. I think they're all one through nine. You stop, you reveal the numbers. If you got it one through nine, you win.
Okay.
If not, you lose. It's Yeah, one or the other. Um,
that sounds pretty fun. I love this logic and lore.
Yeah, I got to I I know uh Carla from Weird Giraffe Games. Lovely person. I see her all the time at um Gen Con. I got to see her at Orca Con a couple of weeks ago and she gave me a copy. So, I'm going to be getting this to the table real soon along with variants. Includes dice and some new uh abilities. So, uh there it is. And there's the playmat that we just saw there.
A big fan of the theming and I really like the font on the numbers. It's very um astrological.
That's the word I was looking for. Astrological. Very nice. Yeah. So, you can check that out, friends. It is now um live on Kickstarter. And as you can see there, you have the tarot size cards, the nova cards, and the alignment cards. There's also black hole and all kinds of stuff. So,
oh, look at the little mice critters.
One character, one player are the mice and the other player are is the dragon.
Those aren't tokens. Those are meuples.
Oh, meles. Yeah, dragon meeples and mice.
Yeah, that's my only complaint so far about the stage.
So, there it is, folks. You can check that out. It is live now. That is um Lic and Lore.
Doing a little tongue twister there.
Yeah. So, cool, cool, cool. Why don't we move on to the next game? Uh we've got another one uh that's actually coming soon to Game Found. This is just a preview of the page. It is the Fighting Fantasy Quest: The Warlock of Firetop Mountain. Now, does that name sound familiar, Rebecca?
Yes.
It was originally a book, like a choose your own adventure book from back in the day. and they are
No, that's not why. No, if we didn't cover it on this show, they know
I feel like we might have we've covered uh games or books like this. Uh might not have been this one in particular, but this is a board game based on the book. So, it's going to be a narrative style game. Um it is
cooperative dungeon crawling.
Cooperative dungeon crawling. Nice call.
Well, I saw some um the vibe. And so, oh, you're going to follow the it follows the same narrative as the book. So, what they've done is set it up so you're going to follow the events and meet all the monsters and everything, but they've thrown some twists as well. So, it's still twist.
Yeah, they've got some uh fresh new uh battles that you're going to jump into and also some puzzles that you're going to have to solve. And
could be played one player.
Yes. So, if you have no friends or if you prefer to play by yourself, you can play by yourself. that that your friends refuse to play with you, I say.
Yeah. What kind of friends are those? Um,
but yeah, so I I really I love these type of books from back in the day. Love, you know, choose your own adventure or these like um D and D style RPG style uh books. And to see it in the board game form, I think it's pretty cool.
Yeah, I'm I'm never disappointed when I actually sit down to play one of these, especially if it's got really good writing. And if they publish first as a novel, I think that they probably have that part on lock. Yeah. So, that
take this great source material.
Exactly. Uh, this one is coming soon to Gamebound Friends. Uh, let's take a look at a game that is now on Kickstarter. It is Fantasy Map Maker. So, I thought this was really interesting. Um,
you're it's like a draw or roll and draw and you're drawing a map depending on your roles. Uh, there are different terrains that you're going to place and uh as
and then you could just play D and D with it after.
That's exactly what it is. That really? Yeah. They That's literally almost what it says here. Word for word.
That's hilarious.
Yeah. You play, you make this map, and then you can use it for your RPG game.
That's so fun.
Isn't that cool?
It's really cool.
Yeah.
Now, uh I'm curious how the game play works. Wow, that's some really good math. Maybe
that. Yeah, that is like way advanced.
That's okay. Yours doesn't have to look like that.
Um you're going to roll dice and u it's a sort of bingo style. everyone uses the same dice and depending on what card or cards you use, you're going to create that terrain and then somehow there are also events that'll pop up. Um, and then other missions that you're going to have to fulfill as you create your map.
Yeah. Can we pop back to the wide in between if you don't mind? Thank you. Crushing. Crushing.
Nice.
It's a lot of scene building back here.
You're doing great.
Uh, so yeah, that uh is now out on Kickstarter. That is uh Fantasy Map Maker.
Yeah. Amazing. You know, if you watch our Q&A that just was posted uh to Patreon and now YouTube members only also got the video. Um just figured we enable that, but we still would love you to join our Patreon. Uh you can find out how much Rey loves cgraphy.
Oh, that's right.
One of the questions in the Q&A uh was um what would you want to visit a museum about that doesn't exist?
That doesn't exist. to watch the Q&A to find out.
I've actually talked to Ray about Cgraphy, but yeah, check out the Q&A, folks, on Patreon. Um, I don't know how to segue into this next uh game here, Becca. It is
Let me [clears throat] try. Let's see. Um, wow. Well, we've talked about important things like dungeons, but let's stick to the good old non-controversial topics, shall we? How's the weather, Ru?
The weather is great, Becca. Uh, just like this game from Buttonshy. Uh, they are a Oh, look how cute this video is.
Whoa. Okay,
this video already rocks.
Yeah. Uh, the daily weather. Uh, you are going to be Oh, this is so cute. I can't get Wow. Um,
the joy seeping off.
It's a button. So, you have 18 cards and you're going to look at the actual date and the weather and you're going to use that um to set up your game. And what you're trying to do is overlap cards in a way that the date and the weather shows up and that's it.
And classic early February heatwave is probably on there, right?
They must live in California.
Yeah. 90° February. Okay. [gasps]
Uh so, yeah. uh 18 cards and I uh you're going to arrange the map uh in a way that you only see the weather and the current day. And what I think is cool is that you actually use the actual date that you're playing on and the actual weather and that's going to set up your puzzle.
Hey, you know what? They turned uh non controversial conversation into something that you can really sink your teeth into.
So, uh this one is out now.
Small talk. That's the word I was trying to talk.
Small talk the game.
Everybody's parents,
right?
Every time I call my parents, they're like I'm like, "What's going on?" They're like, "It rained today."
You live in the Pacific Northwest. It rains every day.
What actually happens?
Yeah. That's what uh that's what retirement can do.
Ah. Um
what's the weather? What are your surgeries like?
What meds are you taking? Um,
so the daily weather folks, it's out on from Buttonshy. As you can see there, you play six cards, try to complete the puzzle. I love Buttonshy games. They're super easy to, you know, literally put in your wallet.
Picked up my uh first few there was they did some um
uh amusement park ones recently that looked very appealing to me, so I picked them up. I haven't played them.
Oh, nice. I think you'll like that one. That one's super puzzly and it sort of gave me a headache when I played it. Ooh, I'm getting a headache from a game.
In a good way.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Make my brain hurt.
In a good way. Um, next up, we've got another campaign that's coming soon. Um, it's Coyote and Crow: Legends and Icons. Now, I want to highlight this because I've uh done some work with Kenna Alexander, the uh publisher and designer. Uh, Coyote and Crow, it's an RPG game that imagines an alternate near future where colonization never happened. Uh,
okay. So, it's a game where science meets spirituality. And they've created this whole world. And this is, um, the new book that's coming out, the, you know, if you want to, you know, the uh, characters and everything, the NPCs that you want to create. Um, the reason why I'm highlighting this, number one, I I believe in uh, Kenna's company, but also they've got a really cool stretch goal, and I don't think they
Wait, was that a shark thing?
Yeah, like a shark um, animal type thing.
That's a land shark.
Land shark. Yeah, land shark. Um, okay. So, they announced, they just announced this. The cool stretch goal is um when they reach a certain threshold, the money above this threshold is going to go uh help folks in Minnesota.
That is awesome.
Yeah. So, they're uh they're going to they're going with standwithm Minnesota.com. There's a bunch of charities that are involved. So, anything over that stretch goal is going straight to folks that in need.
Amazing. Yeah. And folks standing up to uh ICE's um
hostile takeover. Yeah. the federal government murdering its citizens. Really good here in America. Anyway, uh was that standbymaninnesota.com?
That was. Yes.
Yeah. So, you could head there right now if you wanted to do something for them as well.
Yeah. Check that out, friends. Uh one thing, one last thing I wanted to um highlight here on Kickstarter. We talked about it a couple weeks ago. Just want to highlight it again. Uh Zen Quest month started.
Zen Quest.
Zen Quest. So, that's uh all month uh this month. uh uh folks who are creating their own RPG z uh TTRPG z uh with friends or by yourself. There's a bunch of them highlighted on Kickstarter uh right now and you can check that out. Support your local or non-local independent creator.
Yeah. And February, great month for it. It's a month full of birthdays. There are a lot of studio birthdays, including mine. And you just had a birthday.
I did.
Happy belated birthday. How was it?
It was awesome. Um, did I tell you we went to a club on my for my birthday?
That was for your birthday.
It was sort of It just sort of happened to fall for my birthday. But Michelle took me out to a lovely dinner on my birthday. And then Lauren and her boyfriend took me and Michelle out to a really nice place in LA. Like,
shout out to my stepdad Lauren. She knows all the hip places.
Oh, you got to let me know. I got to know the hip spots. I love spending way too much on a food experience.
Yeah, totally. So, it was part of Dine LA. So,
yeah. So, SA in actually in the arts district. Sampa. It was so good.
I think um I've been to the other ones owned by the same owners.
Yes, they own a few different restaurants.
I don't remember. Yeah.
But um quick Bailey, what is the other restaurant owned by the owners of Samba in downtown LA?
Oh, that I
not Yeah. Not your specialty. You know, a lot of If it was a sitcom, if it was a sitcom, you would know.
Oh, yeah. So, yeah, I had a great birthday and I can't get over the fact that we went to a club in a supermarket. That was the best thing ever.
Proud of you. I'm really impressed.
Yeah. Um I
Do you have your dancing shoes on?
I did have my dancing shoes on and uh my dancing knees might have felt the effects the next day.
Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Dancing knees can do that.
Yeah. But so much fun. Great DJ. Shout out to the whole Seafood City uh supermarket team.
Amazing.
Yeah. Uh in just a few seconds here, folks, we're getting things lined up where we're going to go over there. Ooh.
Off screen and play some
area change. But since Jake has left the room, we will uh stall for a few moments. Can you tell me about the game we're about to play? I'm going to grab the rule book.
Okay, Becca's going to get the rule book. We're going to play Fantastic Factories today. Woohoo. Uh this is a uh engine building game using [clears throat] dice as workers. So it's a little dice placement game.
Got engine building. Uh we are building a little uh part of our factories in our little community trying to pump out goods and it's a race to build 12 goods or 10 buildings and then the most points wins.
Okay. It's giving me little Machi Cororo vibes.
Yeah, it's Machi Cororo but really like uh a lot more. Um,
yeah.
As far as Yeah, you're going to create resources. And what's really neat is everyone starts with the same basic building, but depending on what you build, uh, you're going to go in vastly different directions.
Oh, I can't wait to check it out. All right. Are we waiting a few more minutes before we move over to our kitchen set? Three minutes.
Three minutes.
Okay. All right.
So, what else has been going on, Becca? What's uh You seen any good movies lately? I well I um did I saw I went out and I saw Marty Supreme.
Oh, how was it?
Um I absolutely loved it.
Okay. I've heard a lot of good things.
He's not a good person, but Timothy Shalamé goes on this romp. He's he's the best ping pong player in the 1950s. And um there's something about how horrible he is, but how steadfast he is in his goal of making pingpong happen, of getting to the tournament, of doing the thing, and he doesn't care who he hurts in the way.
And some people say, "Wow, that's a story of an anti-hero. That's a bad person." And I don't like watching stories about people like that. But for me, it's a break about having to from having to care so much. like, "Oh, what would it be like if we weren't so
um
uh bogged down with this whole empathy thing?"
Okay. Yeah.
Yeah. I guess we could just look to our news if we wanted to see people like that. But this is a fun way with Timothy Shalomé. You see his butt
and he sleeps with Gwyneth
Poutro. Wow. Do you want to just quote that word for word to a second review in Matt's movie corner?
I just like that review. It's 100% accurate.
Wait, you're so far from a microphone.
This one 100% nails like what this movie delivers on.
It is like that is the way to watch this movie. It's a romp. It's so fun.
He throws a knife really high in the air once.
He does.
Pellet plays a literal ogre. Like the movie
Pellet's in the
What thear casting the creator is in it and he's incredible. I wish there were more of him.
Oh, so Kevin Olirri unfortunately is incredible in it.
This is Mr. Wonderful from Shark Tank.
No way. Really? He's in this movie? Oh,
he plays uh Gwen Paltro's husband who's an absolute jackass and uh is just delightful at being his normal jackass self, but translated to scripted material.
Wow.
There's also like one of my favorite lines in the movie is a line that he improvised.
Okay.
Uh the vampire line.
What What's the line?
Um
Oh, I am a vampire. Yeah.
Oh, okay.
I'm here for a thousand years and senior kind come and go and you're like, "WHAT THE FUCK?"
Kevin with the improv. Nice.
Okay. Wow. I would watch the movie he writes.
Uh, and it'll get funded, too. He'll just do it.
Nice.
Yep. That's That's the best thing about being a billionaire.
I'll let you get back to it.
Continuing to ruin the world. Anyway,
you have fun talking about Timmy Shame's butt. Um, I I was I was really like Luke on Timothy Shalom before this movie. I was like, "Yeah, he's good." But I don't know. I'm a full believer now. That dude's got it.
He's incredible.
He's got it.
To get more of uh to get more of Matt's insights into movies, check out our newsletter, Matt Matty's Movie Corner.
Yeah. And check out the movie Hell Drivers.
Hell Drivers.
Sweet.
I'm not recommending it because I've got some other stuff lined up, but rules. I'm pretty sure you can sign up for our newsletter in our link tree as well as nightcat just dropped it in the Twitch chat over to bit.ly/news gts.
Thanks.
You'll get the sign up form.
All right. So,
I see Bailey sitting at the table. What does this mean for us, Jake?
It means we can give it a shot.
All right.
All right. So, it's time. Or do we do our little thing here first or should we do it? Let's go do it over there.
Let's do it over there.
Okay. Yeah. Yeah. But now we have to do the Wayne's World. Doodly time travel.
Okay. Time travel.
Oh.
Hi. Welcome to the kitchen.
Oh, yay. It's so good to see you both.
I love having a fantastic factory in the middle of the kitchen.
Yes.
Oh, this is awesome.
BAILEY MYERS, FOLKS.
HI. I'm here to I'm here to help play a game. And I am excited because I love playing games. So, We're playing games.
Great way to start the day.
Would you like to tell us about uh more about this game?
Yeah. Fantastic factory. So, we each have our headquarters. That's our standard um actions.
Oh, you know, I love double layer card.
Oh, yeah. You get to put stuff inside these.
Yeah. Look at that. Uh go ahead and select a four dice of the same color. I'm going to take yellow cuz it's right here in front of me.
These dice will stay there. That's going to be for later.
Yeah. Yeah. Makes sense.
We We both look at our sleeves. Hm. I'm feeling purple or green. I don't know what goes better with the fit. What goes better? I feel like you're objectively wearing green. So, I
I'm team green on that.
Team green.
Okay.
All right.
And the [clears throat] rest can go away.
Goodbye.
Bye.
Bye to the studs.
All right. And then each player is going to get uh one metal resource, which is this one, and two energy resources, which is next to Bailey.
Two energy. Two energy. I think those are boxes.
Oh, yeah. Those are goods. Those are goods. Yeah, these are metal.
I've already lost.
And go ahead and select off the top of the blueprint deck four cards um each for each of us.
All right, I got you.
All right, thanks. So, in Fantastic Factories, what we're doing is a building our little community of buildings here. We're going to construct as we go, and the object of the game um the end game trigger is either producing 12 goods or building uh 10 buildings.
So, these are victory points. Those are victory points. Yes, there are also victory points on these cards here right here uh to the right side.
Uh so it's going to the game plays in two phases. The first phase is the market phase. In the market phase, you're either going to get one of these cards, a building card to go into your hand, or you're going to get a contractor for hire. And to get one of these contractors, see these little symbols up here? you to in order to get say the electrician, I must discard from my hand a card that has on the upper left corner a little gear. Okay, so if I had the mega factory in my hand, I could discard this and take the electrician. Electrician immediately gives me five energy and then I select a player to give two energy to a
and then just discard that. That's contractors. So contractors are basically uh immediate effects. Now the buildings you just um if you want during the market phase just take one building from the deck here and you just put in your hand. Okay. Market phase super easy. Get a card or get a play immediate card. The second phase is where we do all the work and it's called the work phase.
That's where we roll our dice
and then using the dice you're going to select one of the areas here to place it and get resources. Okay.
So let's look at the player board here. Uh excuse me. The first section is research. You can place any number die there. And for every die that's there, you're going to select a um blueprint from the top of the deck.
Cool.
The next section is you're going to generate energy. You can only place a number one, two, or three there. And then depending on the number, that's how many energy you get. I place a two, I get two energy.
Okay. But if you place multiple dice, uh is it a multiplier or you just add them together?
You just add them. So this would be three.
Great. Now
I can add that much.
Yeah. Oh, good. Now, one cool thing is if you would place a number uh a second two, so you get two four, but because they match, you get an additional one. So, you get five instead of four.
Perfect.
And finally, the mine. A four, five, or six gets you one mine. Same thing if you place uh two fours here, you'll get uh three because you get one one and then the bonus is the extra.
And I'm seeing right here in this cheat sheet, xxx equals plus two extra.
Yeah, you get another four right there.
All right. So, you're gathering all these resources, mine, mines or I mean ore and energy. What do you use? What do you use them for? I'm glad you asked. Well,
uh you're going to use those to build. So, you can build as many buildings on a turn as you want.
And all you do is pay um the resource here, but also notice it has the little symbol. You need to discard a card that has that same symbol. So, if I want to build the obelisk, I would need to discard uh the golem because it has a little hammer.
Okay. And then I also have to discard a um three ore or or metal and then one energy. And this would go into my tableau. Now that this one's just straight points. That's a boring one, but it is nice to have points. The fun ones are these like the concrete plant. So these here, you'll notice that there's uh empty spaces here. [gasps] Now you can be able to use your dice here. So, this says if you place two dice that are the same, like a two and a two, and you discard a um metal, you're going to get um two goods.
Wow.
And that's how you're going to you're going to crank up the game.
Exactly.
So, there's a lot of different ones you can um play here. We have the book here to tell you if you have any questions, but they're pretty straightforward. For instance, the Mega Factory. If you built this, if you have three dice that are the same, you place them there and then you're going to get two goods and then you get an extra die to roll for that turn.
That seems good. I already got my strategy locked.
Nice. Okay.
So pumped.
Yes, I definitely know what I'm going to do and I'm I understand this game completely. Ready to go.
All right. If you do have questions, everything's uh in the nice little playmat here. They have everything you need to know.
I love that.
Yeah. marketplace is first worker worker uh phases next and then the different buildings icons and worker dice.
Amazing.
Okay. Um and so we do have we start with two energy token. Yes.
I'll give it to you.
Okay. So I'm going to look here. We're going to start the market phase. We take turns here. I'm going to take uh let me see. So I'll take one of these building cards for free and I will take um let's see fitness. Oh, by the way, on this phase, you can do this once. You may spend either one energy or one metal to sweep the to reset the deck. So, you can discard these
anything to refresh. Okay.
So,
so what's the easy Oh, the best way to get energy and mining is um just in our worker phase, correct? Here. Okay, great.
Yep. So, what I'm going to do, why don't we um I'll start things off a little silly here. I'm going to get rid of these. And I've spent an energy. I'll just leave that there. Those go in the discard pile. This
is a total refresh right off the bat.
This is a refresh right off the bat.
Here.
Okay. So, we've got the solar array. We've got the trash compactor, Gollum, and manufactury. So, I'm going to take the trash compactor for free. And then we just do this. And then, uh, Becca, your turn.
All right. I have a plan. And that is I want that for.
Okay. I'm going to discard a beacon because it has this um
symbol.
This symbol with the shovel that's pink. I'll pay two energy to the bank.
Nice.
And I will take the foreman.
What's the foreman do?
At the start of the next work phase, instead of rolling, you may choose the values for up to four dice.
Oh, nice.
Yeah,
I love that one. Awesome. So, then we move this one over here. And Bailey, it's your turn.
Oo, okay. I definitely know what I'm going to do. And I was thinking about it the whole time.
All right.
All right. Let's see. I'm gonna grab something helpful probably. Okay. Um Ruel, I don't know what to do. I'm going to be honest with you.
Okay. Uh so I would um I mean you want to look at So if you want to build stuff whatever if you have something in your hand like like for me
picked a card that I'm working towards in my hand.
So I want to build this concrete plant. So I need to have a shovel in my hand to discard. So, I'm going to get the trash compactor and I need this energy and stuff.
Okay.
So, maybe get a couple of buildings
and then we'll roll the dice and we can we'll get resources to build stuff.
I think here's what I think. I think that I find the golem extremely charming and I'm just going to take him without any other reasoning behind it. I think it's all about vibes. He's wearing a belt. He's got a little thing.
It's very cute.
Hey. All right. So, that's the work uh market phase. Now, we go to the work phase. Everyone's going to take their dice and roll. Unless you're me.
Oh yeah, instead of rolling, I just pick.
Just pick. Very nice.
That's pretty good, actually.
That is great.
I'm just going to go all sixes in the mine
because then not only do I get three metal, I also get two bonus metal because all my dice match.
Oh, nice.
Thank you. And then I'll just take one little energy.
Okay, I'm gonna do Let's see. Um I need energy. So, three energy.
Sorry. Sorry.
And then I need two of those.
You know what? I'm going to I'm going to I'm going to change it up and I'm going to get just one extra, but then I'll do I'll do the same in energy. So, I'll get
Oh, look at that. Very nice. Okay.
Um, also between turns,
uh, our limit is 12. Oh, no. No. What is the limit? It should say over here.
The limit does not exist. discard down to 12 resources and 10 cards.
Thank you.
So, I'm going to take uh I get one research.
It's pretty good.
This [snorts]
uh I get three energy. One, two, three.
And then I get uh two mines. One, two. And then I'm going to build the concrete plant. So, to build um I have this one here. I need to discard a shovel. So, here's the one with the shovel. And then I need to pay two metal and two energy.
All right. In the work phase, we not only roll, but we place those workers. We activate all our cards max once per card and then build.
Yes. Also, you may only build one of each card. You cannot have copies of cards unless it specifically says so.
Okay.
Oh, well, I was not super smart like Ruel, and I forgot that I need um to have an additional card to discard in order to build.
So, I'm setting up for next turn.
Yep. And this forman's been used. Do I keep them around?
Nope. He goes away. These are just contractors for hire.
Yeah,
I don't own them. I can't trap them in my basement. With with the golem, my thing with the golem is I can use X energy to get an extra dice with an with a value of X this turn. I have two energy.
Mhm.
Can I do that to get a triple two?
You have to build the gone first. A blue card and you have to pay four or pretend I didn't say that. No worries. any of that.
So, yeah, when you build that, uh, you'll spend um
I forgot he's not a building. I mean, I forgot he is a building because he looks like just a cool little guy.
Yeah. Okay.
Okay. But I
He's not built yet. So, he has to be in your hand.
I see. I see this. Thank you so much. I apologize.
No worries. Learning how fast work.
Yeah.
So, if I have done this, then I would get
an extra energy on top of so it would be so two, four, five, six total. Yep.
Cool. Oh, wait. So, I get this many of these things.
Uh, for this one, it'd be two, four plus a match, so five. And this
and I will make them three because I got choose.
Yeah. Oh, yeah. You get to choose. Yeah, I see.
Yeah, you're right, Bailey, as far as that one's concerned.
So, I get six energy. And then for mine, I just get one of these recently.
Correct.
Awesome.
Yep.
That's cool. I didn't want to count out six of these.
I already have to count out six of these. And that's a lot.
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 11. Okay,
now [snorts] I did it right.
All right, so we got all our resources. I've built one building. That's the end of the round.
Perfect.
We pass this over to Becca. You'll be first. And once again, you can either take one building into your hand or you can hire a contractor.
I am going to make the thing I want to make this time for real. So, I'm going to need this solar array card to do it.
Okay.
Then I'll get one new for Bailey.
Mhm.
Thank you.
It's a dojo. Oh, and it is orange slash utility. Flip an unplaced dye to its opposite side. Whoa,
that's cool.
That's cool. That's helpful if I know what's on the other side of dice, which I don't.
It's generally
Yeah,
it's generally a known thing. Is it Is it one and six, two, five, three and four?
Yeah. Whatever adds up to seven. So, if you see the face five, then you know on the opposite side, it's two.
Yeah, people uh people know that. And I I don't have it in my brain. I don't. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I wish I did. It's already gone. She's already forgotten. It's opposite. Hey, Bailey. What's on the opposite side of a tube? Could be anything.
They won't stick. Someone. She was cursed by which
I am going to take the manu factory. It's a woman factory now.
All right. And then I will take what's this? The harvester. I'll take the harvester. It's got a lot of places for dice.
Yeah, that's what I like.
Interesting. Okay, now we're on to the work phase where we roll our dice and I have to roll it like a regular person.
Okay.
Am I able to build if I have the ability to build or does that happen a different time? I'm so sorry.
No, no, no worries. Work roll the dice and then you can get resources and or any first. I'm going to build first so I don't forget.
I think that's very important. Actually, I [snorts] have a power plant. I'm going to pay three mines for it and one solar array card. And now I can put a die here. And then whatever's on the die, I can turn that into energy.
Oh, that's really good. That makes sense.
Yeah.
Um I'm going to build that manufacturer I just pulled up. So I'm going to uh get rid of this megalith.
Mhm.
Uh that's going to go there. And then it's these two resources and then three energy. And now um if I'm looking at this correctly, x= x and then that becomes box plus many resources. Am I reading this right? What is the x= x part mean? Rule
uh manufactur. So uh here uh Bailey, on this these two spaces here, you need to place two dice that are um equal to each other.
Oh, okay. But then I get all those resources if I do. Becca, I'm sorry. I keep hitting you in the man. so excited about building stuff. It feels perfect.
So, if you put a four and a four here, then you'll get one good, which is a point, and then you get your choice of any of these items.
I think I can roll two of the same die.
That feels possible to me.
Okay.
Okay, I've [snorts] done it.
Um, what am I doing here? I'm going to do this here.
So, I'm building this. I'm building the harvester. I'm going to get rid of
this one, the hammer. And then I need to pay one of those and then two of these. Whoops. So, I've built that. And then I'm going to place this six here in order to get um a iron and iron. And then I am going to Ooh, do I want goods? Oh, no. I'm going to go harvester. So, I put a two and two. They're the same. That means I get either four iron or seven energy.
What you gonna do? I'll take the iron.
Okay, thank you.
Roll my dice.
I'll put a three here to get three energy.
Okay, I have a question about order of operations cuz what I would like to do is
get some new ore or metal and then build a card and then place my last die on that card. But do I have to do all my dice? No, I can do that.
You could totally do it. Yeah.
Okay. Yeah.
So, we'll get these these three dice. This one, whatever value is on the die, I get that much energy. I get six.
Very nice. It's too many. Don't even need them. Okay, so that's done. One.
Also, on the little card here, there's um
how to play and also icons and
I'm catching up. It took me a turn to figure out what everything is, but I feel like I understand and I'm really excited because I rolled two twos. So, my manufacturing is already rocking and rolling.
Right on.
I'm building a fulfillment center. This fulfillment center, get ready. It cost me an obelisk, but I don't even care. I'm going to pay two metal and one energy to build it. And then if I put exactly a four on here
Mhm.
and I pay two energy.
Whoa.
Then I get one
box. Good. And one metal.
Very nice.
I have my first point.
First point, folks. It's a race. We're racing to 12.
When someone has 12.
Yep. Or 10 buildings.
I Or 10 buildings. Yeah,
I did forget to mention that I got a point during that last. I'm so sorry. I don't mean to undercut your point.
Oh my gosh. Your manufacturing.
Yes. So, it makes a point and then one of these re either either two of the metal, three of the energy, or two blueprints. I took two of the blueprints. That's a very good call.
Yeah.
Okay, we all ready? Go ahead and pass the player marker over to Bailey.
I think I might have to discard. Does anybody have more than 12?
Oh jeez, you made that many resources already. You have 11.
No, I'm good. Okay, just 11.
Yeah, nine.
Yep. I don't have enough. So, we're good.
You got to spend resources to make resources. It's like they say.
Like they say.
All right, Bailey. Uh, you'll be first player.
Very exciting. I'll take my cool token.
Yes.
Put that there to remember I'm special.
Special.
You're special.
Um, and then let me look at a buddy of the day.
Let's see. Okay, we've got a dojo still, the megalith, the robot, and the fulfillment center. Man, the fulfillment center is pretty cool.
Mhm.
I kind of want that. I think I'm going to I'm going to grab the fulfillment center place with a new blueprint just for you guys. The aluminum factory or as our friends in the UK would say, the aluminum factory.
Um, and then I would just I'm just going to immediately build it by throwing out this golem. Sorry, Golem. I love you very much and I love your face, but I want a fulfillment center.
Wait, wait. It's not It's not the work.
Oh, yeah. We're just We're just grabbing cards. We're doing that. Technically, nothing will change in between, but we're in the market and then we will work together.
I apologize. I was so confident. I was like, I know how to do it now. No,
I'm sorry.
You do. We're just We're just all waiting for each other to shop.
Turn two is solidifying it for me. I understand now the market phase. I can read a card and I'm very good at it. Okay, I've done it. Okay,
enjoy your selections, Ru.
All right, thank you. Uh, I'm going to, uh, take this architect. So, I get rid of a hammer. Hammer goes there. [snorts] Uh, so I immediately get three blueprints and I pick an opponent to receive one.
Can I have one? I only one card.
You have one? Okay. Yeah, go ahead and take one.
Wow, that worked.
That was easy. [gasps]
And then, Becca, it's your turn.
But it's still not what I want. I want this megalith.
Okay.
Okay.
Mark phase is over. Now the work phase. Bailey.
Well, it turns out I can't build a fulfillment center anyway because I don't have enough resources. So, it's good that I had to take some dice.
I got three.
Oh, that's auspicious. Um Oh, that's exciting. I got two twos. My manufacturer is working very hard again. I am going to build something though. What I'm going to do is I'm going to
build this bolab. It needs um a foundry. So for the gear and then one metal and three energy. But if I roll a one and I spend an energy, I get a point.
And I did roll a one. So I'm going to spend an energy in order to get a point.
That Bolab is awesome.
Thank you. I also did manage to do the manufacturing thing as well. So, I'm going to
Did you just build the bolab
and you discarded that?
Yes. Okay, cool.
So, I got another I got a second point from the manufactur
and then I'm going to go for two of the metals instead of the other choices for the resources.
I did notice you're jealous of my fulfillment center.
I am a little jealous.
I'm also extremely jealous of your manufacturing. So, I'm going to build my own. Getting rid of a megalith. I need one more metal. So, I've placed something in the mine to make that happen. I placed something in research. So, we'll grab that now. And uh I need to pay these two metal and these three energy. And then like you, I have double roll to turn into a box. Good.
Nice.
Some call it good. Uh and I get two of anything. Oh my gosh. Okay.
Okay. Um,
so what I'm going to do, I'm going to build a nuclear plant. So I get rid of this one with the little um wrench. I paid two metal and two energy. Uh, so I built that and then I'm going to go to my concrete plant, place the number twos, they are the same. Then I pay that number of metal. So two metal and I receive two goods. So two points. [snorts] And then I'm going to take uh four and a five. They do not match, but I get one medal each. One, two, and that's the end of my turn.
Okay. All right.
Anything else? We're moving on.
We are. I Let's pass this along to Ruel.
Thank you.
I know. Shopping time.
Specialist. Is this the one that has
plus X gain an extra question mark of any value any time during the next work phase? Do I have?
Yes, I do have that. So, I will do that.
Oh my god.
Discard that. Thanks,
Bailey.
So, I have the specialist. So,
what does this do?
I gain a val any die of any value at any time during the work phase. So, I can wait till I um roll my dice and then I can come up with a fifth die.
A wild die.
Yeah, just for this turn.
Now, we have an investor in that spot or another investor.
Well, you're the problem. Investors draw and reveal a blue card. gain stuff equal to its build cost. Do I want stuff? What am I trying to build? What's What's good here? This dojo says energy to flip a die. Oh, that's the one you were talking about. And we all know
the die faces add up to bleep.
The dojo just roundhouse kicks
the roundhouse kicks the die. I'm curious about Gosh, you really need more dice in order to use all your all your ways to make boxes efficiently.
What does that robot do?
The robot turns metal to roll an extra dye this turn.
Yeah. So, you grab one of these.
That seems good.
Pay a metal to roll an extra dice.
Mhm.
I want a robot. Thank you, Jake.
Yeah. There's a bunch of other cards uh in the deck that will give you extra dice. either contractors or as you saw the buildings here.
Yeah.
Okay.
Okay. Let me see. Um that seems that warehouse seems pretty cool actually.
Uh I think I'm going to take it. Yeah. If you get a sum of 14 plus on three dice, it becomes two points and then two energy.
That seems really good.
Seems really good. Points are good.
Market phase is over. Let's work.
Time to work.
Go to work. Little dice, right?
Oh, we got matches.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah. This is
four that I needed. I got my equals that I needed. This is going well for me.
Okay, hold on.
Three. Equal. Equal. Oh, do I go energy? No, we're going to go here. So, I'm going to put the equals here. So, three and three, they're the same. I need to pay three metal in order to get two goods. [snorts] And then I'm going to use my uh six here. That gives me a good and an energy. One good. Where's the one? Single energies. There it is. Or single good. And then I'm going to use my specialist. So, this was a four. I'm going to turn this specialist into a four. Um I can either get four metal or seven energy. I'm going to get four metal.
That seems like a good choice.
Yeah, that's my turn.
I like it.
Thanks. And then specialist, you are out of here.
Okay, I drew [clears throat] an extra card. I'm going to pay two energy and then a four die to use my fulfillment center, which gets me a point in the form of a box
and one metal. And then I have two fives here, which gets me another point. I'll get some change.
Nice. And um two of anything.
It could be cards or the other resources. Oh, what do we want? I think just cards. We can have 10 cards in our hand. Sure. Seems good. Freak yeah. And I'm building a robot.
All right.
And this robot says I get to pay a medal and roll an extra die this turn.
Very nice. Oh, I didn't pay for it. I'll pay for it.
So many choices.
Go ahead. Go ahead.
Oh, okay. Got to pay a card.
Didn't want to interrupt if you had exciting more things to do.
That's That's the excitement. It's a five.
That's pretty exciting, too, though.
Thanks.
Okay. I am going to build a power plant by paying with the mega factory because what are the odds I'm going to roll three of the same dice? That's crazy. And then also three medals in order to build it. And then he I am I got I rolled another one and I paid an energy. So I get another point from the bolab. Um which is exciting. I'm loving all my boxes. They're stacking up like boxes do. Um and then I get a medal from the mine. I get a card from my headquarters. And then the power plant is X becomes that many energy and I rolled a six. So I actually get six energy.
Wow. Nice.
Which is pretty exciting. There was one in that bowl. So I'm going to take it.
Who's feeling most confident right now?
I have four points.
You have five points. Five points. Bailey has four points.
Four points.
My confidence is shot.
Well, don't forget at the end of the game, so once we get to 12 goods or 10 buildings, we finish that round. Then we play one more round and then we count up points. points are going to be your goods and then any points that are on your cards which are next to the little building on the right side.
Okay,
that's cool.
Yeah. So, we usually I think people score around in their 20s or so. Um
Yeah, I did.
Hell yeah, brother.
Nice.
Give me extra points for that.
Yes, you get extra points for that. And you get the first player marker. We're on to the new market phase.
Okay. Well, I'm not ready because I'm still
You're still doing stuff. My bad.
Yeah. Yeah. Sorry. I got an extra die. And I'm going to discard the black market to build a foundry.
I'll have to put this die here to get one extra metal. [snorts] And then I can build it by paying two metal and one energy.
Very nice.
Okay, we did it.
Wow, you got five buildings already.
I got five buildings already.
Okay. Uh, so that's the end of the round. Return any temporary dice back to the pool and then Becca will lead us off on the market phase. Oh my gosh. Choices again already. So soon metal after building a card in the scrapyard. That's new. I'm trying to get some new dice here though. Anything out here that gives us new dice? I don't think so. Sorry, Mike.
And again, you can spend one resource to clean off or wipe the market.
Oh, right.
Yeah, either row.
Completely forgot about that. Thank you for the reminder.
No problem.
Spend one of anything.
Yep. I'll spend an energy. Well, this says two of the same die and five energy gets you two boxes in the aluminum factory. Oh my jeez.
Mhm.
Okay. Okay. And then beacons, what do they do? First beacon gets you two. Um Oh, this kind of point. Wait, we have other points.
Yeah, those were at the end of the game. We'll count those as well.
Oh my gosh.
So, remember I said you can't build at the same building. This is the one of the exceptions. The beacon. You can build multiple beacons because they're crit collection. Yeah.
Yeah. Okay. They really like the crit roll app.
Yeah.
Um, got it. And it is my turn. And I do have to choose. Fine.
This one.
Okay. All right. Bailey,
let's replace that card. See what's there. A gymnasium. Um,
increase the value of an unplaced die by one with one energy. That's pretty cool. [snorts]
Um,
that's where you get bulked up, but the fitness center is where you slim down. You can minus one.
That's funny.
Okay, that's really funny. Different different goals in health goals vary from person to person. I think it's really cool. They accounted for many things. Okay. Um, I'm actually going to take the beacon, I think.
Yeah, for no reason. Don't worry about it. Uhoh. H.
Not worried about it.
More bacons. What? Who said that?
I'll take the scrapyard.
Okay, now we work.
Work work. Some good numbers. I got some matchies. That's good for me. Oh my god.
As soon as I said that it would be impossible for me to roll three of the same, I did roll of the same. That's cool. And I like it. Nice.
I'm glad that that happened. Oh gosh.
Choices, choices.
Oh, I could go there.
I need 10,000 more dice.
Oh, that would be cool.
Oh, my manufacturer gives me stuff. Okay, I'm going to pay two of the same dice. I get one point and I get to choose two of a resource. And I'll choose metal. Then I'll pay one medal to roll an extra die.
Nice.
It's a six.
And then just so much.
I'll build the battery factory. So I get rid of this scrapyard.
Pay two of these and one of these.
So I built my battery factory.
Then what do I want to do?
I'm going to use my fulfillment sitter to get another point because I had exactly a four and two energy. Okay, I'm going to make all my machines go. I got I got the manufacturer going, so that means I get a point and two of any resource. So, I'm going to take two metal. Um, I got the bolab, so I have to pay an energy, and then I get a point. Uh, I got the power plant, so I got four energy. One, two, three, four. And then with all my brand new beautiful resources, I'm going to pay a shovel in order to build my first beacon, which is also going to cost me two metal and four energy. And now I have a beacon.
Nice.
But just one, so don't worry about it. Uhoh. Just the one the one you saw me pick up.
I'm going to go here. No, actually I'll go here. One, two. That's going to get me three energy. One, two, take this one here. Three. And then I'm going to spend that four energy with my battery factory to get one. Good. Um, take a two. Get make change.
Oh, that seems like a smart idea. I've just been taking all the solo ones this whole time. Just monop monopolizing the solo boxes.
You deserve change.
Um, and then Oh, I don't have enough goods for that. So, what I'm going to do is go here. and get four of these bad boys. One, two, three, four. Okay, my turn.
I have a power plant that turns a die value into that much energy. And I rolled a six on my special temporary die. So, I'm going to get six energy. And then I don't have any cards that will help me build my other cards. So, I need one research card with my last die. And that is going to be maybe all I can do. That's it.
Okay. Yeah, I'm done, too. Okay,
I'm also done.
All right,
let's go shop.
Okay,
shop.
Women be shopping. Let's do it. Are we points time?
I've got six points and four buildings.
Fantastic Factories is in chat. Each of the robots are named after kids that were born during the development of the game.
Oh, I love that.
Ruby, it says right there. I was like, mine just says robot.
Ruby robot.
Any Ruby?
I'm [clears throat] holding this. Do I need to pass it?
Oh, yeah.
I think Becca's in the lead right now because we all have six points, but Becca has five buildings. Yeah. And each Yeah. buildings are going to be worth
in this game.
Okay. Let's see.
That's Joseph Z. Chin. I think we've talked about another of his games really recently.
Could we play one for Jack? Interesting.
Great. We're big fans.
For one more game was
one more game.
Grunt work.
Grunt work.
Grunt work. We had a lot of fun. Grunt work.
I'm going to take the gymnasium.
Okay.
I've decided. There you go. Have an obelisk. Enjoy
the obelisk. Huh. Okay. What's this do? Engineer. Oh, I can't get him. I don't have enough energy. Dang it. No energy. Um, why didn't I get the
We need the coffee shop for you to get more energy.
I do. Obelis is worth points. Okay, I could do that. Maybe the dojo. I get to flip over. I'm going to take the dojo.
Well, be what I need, please.
Oh, another solar array.
Wasn't what I need. So, I'm trying to build and the card that I would need to build ain't here. So, um we're going to pay an energy to get all new stuff in the shop.
All right.
Woohoo. Yeah, there was three of the the utilities. That's no good. Gymnasium, Tempency, Recycling Plant, and Replicator.
Really good pronunciation.
Thank you. I'm a professional. I'm a professional host. Okay, so here's
Oh, that temp agency is cool.
That is expensive.
The temp agency. Pay an energy to choose one or more unplaced die and reroll them.
Not bad.
Just reroll your dice.
That's pretty cool.
Oh. Oh.
Okay. But what I really need is just to build what I've already got. And to do that, I need the gymnasium. That brought us backard.
Okay, now we've all gone. Dice time. I'll give back my pimp dye.
Okay. Not
we got some matchies. We love the matchies.
Gosh, now I wish I could change the die value by one. If only I had. H. Do I want to do this or this? That's more points. Then this will get me one, three. You know what? I'm going to use these two. Actually, let me do one for research.
It's getting very thinky in here.
It is. I need to get a graphic of equations flying by's head.
I think we have just a buffer symbol uploaded already.
Yeah.
Can hold that on our heads as needed.
Research.
I'm going to make my machines go while everyone's working.
Okay.
So, I rolled double twos. So, my manufacturer gets to pop off, which is very exciting. I get a point. I'm going to grab two medals. And then
you deserve 10 medals.
Oh my god, thank you so much. And then I'm going to grab another medal from the mine. And then five energy from the power plant. Three. Four. Five. I saw someone ask if the dice are hard with my nails, and the dice are actually pretty easy, but these things are borderline impossible. I'm trying so hard. Um, and then I am going to do a little bit more building. I'm going to Do I have enough for this? Do I have enough for this? I might not have. I'm going to take back the five energy and replace some stuff. Pretend I didn't do that.
No one even happened.
I forgot.
Thank you. I'm getting a second mine, but because it's two fives, I actually get a bonus medal from that. So, that actually was a much smarter play and I definitely did it from the first. Okay, so the first thing I'm going to do is I'm going to spend a gymnasium and two metal. Oh, sorry.
No, you're good. I'm going to wait.
Four energy in order to build a second beacon. It was in my hand the whole time.
Nice.
I know.
Tricked us.
I know. I'm so Trixie. And then I'm allowed to build a second building as long as it's not a duplicate. It does. It says on the thing. I'm very excited. Uh so I'm going to spend another golem as well as two metal and one energy to give myself a fulfillment center.
Wow.
Nice
big turn. I have and I love it. Okay, speaking of fulfillment center, you have to put a four value into it, but I only have a five and it gives you crates. Those are victory points, so I really need it. So, what I'm going to do is first um spend a medal to use my robot ruby. And I get this extra die. And we're going to roll a four. If everybody in chat could just think the number four.
Four. Four. Four. Four. Four. Four.
It's a three.
Okay.
That's not a four. You weren't thinking hard enough. So, um we have another option which is um I if I draw a card with um the What's this?
Uh wrench.
Wrench. Yeah, we need a wrench. One, two, three, wrench.
It's not actually. You guys could have thought wrench harder.
You guys are not thinking four. So, neither of those things help me to turn this into a four. So, I'm going to go back in my tank
and figure out how to make a four happen.
While you're doing that, um, I've built a recycling plant and I've [snorts] gotten the harvester to get energy. And so now the recycling plan. I discard two cards, spend two energy to get a card and a good.
I thought about it and I'm going to make it happen.
Oh, that's so funny. I just got rid of this card. Okay.
All right. I have a gymnasium and in order to build it, I'm going to pay a metal and a a purple a pink shovel. And now I can pay an energy to make one of my dice go up one. That'll make this three into a four. Now I have a four and two energy
to make a great
Well done.
In a medal.
We got there. We got there, baby.
Very nice, Becca.
When other people let you down, you have to be your own four dice.
Thank you. Thank you. That's what I believe.
All right. Is that the turn? I've still got more 17. Becca's very busy.
Okay, so these two ones equal another point
and two of anything. Um, I'm just going to grab two new blueprints. I love that for you.
Thank you. Let's go, baby. Okay, now I'm done. Oh, wait. I still have a dye. Sorry, y'all. Okay. Not sorry, but um we'll just take five freaking energy. No big deal.
Yeah, seems good.
Seems good.
While you're counting out the five, I'm going to hand this back to Ruel.
Thank you. What does this engineer do?
Oh, dang. That's sort of cool.
What does he do?
I like sort of cool things. What is that?
Yeah.
Now I'm curious. Draw and reveal a blueprint. Immediately build it for free.
That's pretty cool, right?
Oh my god.
But unfortunately, I don't have a shovel.
He does also cost four.
Four energy. Yeah. So, I'm not getting
that makes sense. It makes sense. He's expensive. I get it.
Yeah, he's the engineer. What's the investor do? There's two investors. Wait, I don't care because I don't have those symbols. I can have the electrician. That's just gets energy.
Okay. Are we all ready?
Yeah, I'm ready. Okay.
Good stalling tactic. It's your turn.
Yeah, I'm going to take the recycling plant.
Okay. Um, man, choose one or more unplaced die and reroll them. I really want more robots to roll extra turns. Robots are so cool. Let's see. Did I draw any in my mini cards? No. Maybe I just keep drawing as many cards as possible.
You can always sweep for a resource. I'm sweeping because I want a freaking robot.
Give me more dice.
More.
Oh, nice.
Are you laughing?
This one's name is Sam.
Oh, wait. You can only do one of this. Yeah, it's only the beacon.
Now I have to take it from you guys.
You don't have to.
Yeah.
Well, it's really nice of me to refresh that for you. Okay. A megalith. um costs five metal and it costs one less per monument type card in your compound. Okay. Interesting. Interesting.
Oh, yeah. And the building types are here. So, monuments is that color there.
Oh, it's like three prestige. Oh, I see why you want one of those.
Yeah, that's a lot of points.
Just not understanding what I was looking at there.
I guess I'll take a megalith now. How many buildings? 10 buildings triggers the end of the game.
Correct. Okay,
we're getting there.
And again, we'll finish that turn, then do one more turn, then at the end of the game.
Oh, man. Okay,
well, that nuclear plant is looking really tempting, but I think I have to take the robot. It just seems like a really good idea to take the robot.
Yeah, it seems like a really good idea for someone to refresh the markets. The robot.
All right. Uh, market phase is over. Let's roll.
Roll some bones. Work, you know,
work. Oh man, that is not what I want.
Mashing values.
Oh, I got a four though.
I'm happy for you. Thank you.
Oh, the dojo is worth no points at the end. That's a bummer.
Dojo.
Dojo.
Same with Robots. I
don't want that. Maybe I do this. So, you got one. And then I do this. I get this for a bunch of metal.
Oh, I can do this, too. Okay,
give me the names of those sweet buildings.
So, I've got concrete plant, harvester, nuclear plant, battery factory, recycling plant. So, if I do the nuclear plant, I can put a six there, get a good and an energy. Then I'll have enough energy to go to my battery factory to spend four energy to get another good. And then if I go here, I discard two cards, spend two. I think I'll have enough energy to do this. Spend two of these, two energy to get another good and another blueprint. So that's three goods in one turn, which is really good.
That is good, good, good,
good, good, good, good,
good, good, good, good, good, good. And then I can also build a dojo, but that's that's just a flip over dice and it's not worth any points.
I'm going to really quickly build a robot just so I can roll an extra die because that feels like something I should do right away.
I'm going to do the same.
Okay,
robots rock.
Robots rock. Yeah, I think I should have enough to do this. So, four there.
That's not what I wanted.
One there, four there. Oh, no. I won't have enough.
I'm going to be short one.
Okay.
No, I can't do math. I can't do this.
Well, I believe in you.
Nuclear plant. Uh, one good one energy. Go to the battery factory. Four energy for good.
Calc Dave wants you to know that you have matching fours now, Bailey.
I do. Oh, but I also have the fulfillment center. Oh, but the production is better than that. You're right. That's That's a good point. Thank you.
Discard two cards and two energy for good.
Pretty good looking out. Okay,
making change. Then I'm gonna do
and then I get one good and I get a card.
And then I'm going to do
No.
Okay. Oh, and then I have these here. So now
So much thinking.
It's a lot of thinking. Yeah, I'm going to I want a blueprint. I do.
I can build the Oh, no. I can build it. I need a card. Dang it.
I have a plan and I'm going to tell you guys about it.
Okay.
Okay. I'm excited.
Manufacturing first. I pay two of the same dice and I get a point and I get two metal. Then I'm going to build an aluminum factory.
Nice.
No, no, no, no. I don't have a pink card. Oh, no.
Okay, we're going to draw a pink card. Ready? One, two, three. Pink.
No, you guys. No, it wasn't. It wasn't it.
Think harder.
Okay. [snorts] I can send these back. in order to get
get mines or do I get cards?
So many cards I don't want.
Let me do one card. Oo.
Okay.
And I'll get one. Where's my last die? Here it is. Mine.
I am going to do my manufacturing. That gets me an extra box. So, I'm gonna send a single one back. Um, I am also going to take two blueprints because my hands empty, which is difficult emotionally. And I'm going to take two energy from my power plant. And then I'm going to immediately spend one of those in order to get a box from my biolab bringing me up to nine points.
Very nice.
I'm stuck.
Uhoh.
I'm so close to having cool stuff, but I just don't. I need the cards to build the cards.
I need the build. I need the cards. I need the cards to build the cards. I need the cards to build cards. I'm
just going to have a mental breakdown here. No big deal. Okay. Okay. Okay. Here's what I can do. I can pay a one and an energy to turn it into one metal. And now I can build an obelisk, discarding a harvester. And this obelisk does nothing but give me points. I'll pay for it in full.
Nice.
Go. Got one more die. Guess I'll just uh
take an energy. Okay, I finally did it. I finally made decisions.
Very nice. All right, end of the round. Let's do a quick check. I've got five buildings and 10 goods. [snorts]
I've got nine goods and seven buildings. I should have said them in the same order you did. Well, I also have nine goods at seven buildings, so no RULE needs to have said it IN A DIFFERENT ORDER.
OKAY, I'll pass the first marker over. Becca, it is the market phase. We're getting close to the end here, friends.
Um, I just want everything I see.
I need
Why the world is full of greed.
It's a problem. Okay. It seemed really cool when I could change my dice. I wish that card I did forget to grab a medal from my mind. That one's on me. Sorry, everybody.
You get that medal. You deserve that medal.
Paula Deming is reigning us.
Paula, a thanks Paula. We're playing Fantastic Factories and it is in fact fantastic.
Yeah,
we're getting near the end and it's getting tricky.
It's going to be a close game. It is a close game.
Yeah. I just want everything. Um, okay. We can't have everything, can we?
Unfortunately,
we can't even have nice things.
Okay. Pay two cards.
Oh, I think I need a trash compactor cuz I have so many cards. I I want this.
I want this.
Oh my gosh. Everything's hard all the time. Okay.
All right. Um, I am going to take the incinerator. Yeah, I'm going to do that. I'm going to take the incinerator.
Thank you.
Love it. Love it.
So, we'll just shuffle those. Discard. Heard
of shuffling. I'll give it a try.
Uh, I'm going to take the What is this?
20 bucks on Ruel from Cricsotic Odyssey. I learned from a while on YouTube.
I'll take 20 bucks. Oh, you're betting 20 bucks.
I'll take the gymnasium. Yeah, gymnasium.
Okay.
I think if you financially benefit from the bet, it's illegal.
Mhm.
Darn it.
I'll never get to play a board game again.
Yeah, they will. They'll ban you.
Yeah.
All right. Now, we all roll our dice.
Sending back any temporary dice like robot.
Oh, man. I want to build this robot, though.
Going to immediately take a temporary dice again. I got two sixes. Okay. Three. Three.
Feels good.
Did I?
Oh, I did not build the do. Darn it. Okay.
Dojo.
Dojo.
Okay.
Awesome. Awesome. [snorts] We love to see it.
So, I could do this one. Oh, nope. Nope. How do I do this? Here.
It's gotten so quiet at this table.
I know. We're like really locked in now.
Okay, [sighs and gasps] I'm doing a setup turn, which feels bad at this point in the game, but I need
so much mining resource. Mhm.
I could put my five and a six here and the mine and then I get two plus an extra one that gets me three. But here's how I can get six metal. I'm going to put six in the power plant and six in the foundry. But this turns into six energy. Let's not worry about that. Let's just put that six energy right back into the foundry and turn them into metal.
And I get six. One, two, three, four, five. Yeah, I'm definitely doing concrete plants. So, I need to spend three metal. I have three two threes here. That gets me two goods and that will trigger the end of the game.
Oh my god.
Okay, so after this after this round, we'll get one more round, then we'll be done.
My [snorts] god. Oh my god. What do we do? Okay, then I need more points.
So, I'm also going to do my recycling plant. So, I spend two energy. I discard two cards for one good and one card. Sorry.
I'm building a freaking megalith.
Hell yeah. It costs one less for each monument in your compound, which is one. So, I just pay four metal and two energy and this card. And now that got me three more freaking points, baby.
Nice. A robot came in way too late.
I'm
This robot would have been nice earlier.
Well, I have a robot. I'm gonna pay for a robot die. Doing my manufacturing. I'm doing my
So, how do I get this robot
five? Just what I prayed for.
So, if I did that,
spending two in order to get a medal and another bat.
I just found a way to get a box. I can pay this four that I just rolled on a robot.
Nice. and two energy.
So, I did this one
to get a box and a metal. And then,
do I do the obelisk?
I think I might have to do the obelisk.
Going to Okay, I'm I'm going to build another building. That's what I'm going to do. I'm going to spend this fitness center, green wrench, two metal, and one energy in order to build a battery factory eight buildings.
So, I'm going to go here. Oh man. Do I do that robot for the last round or do I get the points? I'm going to I'm going for points. So, I'll get a mine
points. Points baby
and then one energy and then I'm going to get rid of the robot in order to build the obelis which is costing me all my resources, but it is worth two points at the end of the game.
That's cool.
Yeah,
I like that.
I'll take that. Thanks. So, just quick count. 2 4 6 8 10 12 13 goods.
What do I do? What do I do? Okay. H I have 11. Is that anything real?
That No, that's good because we got one more round.
Oh,
and you also have a couple of beacons. I know those are worth multiple points.
Couple of beacons. It seems like it's going to be worth five points total, which in this game that is huge.
I was hoping a third beacon would beak its ugly head, but it didn't. So,
who knows? They may show up.
We do have one last turn after this.
We have one last turn after this.
Yes, cuz we will be triggering the end of the game.
Okay.
How many buildings do you have all together, Bailey?
Oh, um I have eight. It just occurred to me with my battery factory, I can spend four energy in order to get another uh box.
Very nice.
So, I'm going to do that.
Wow.
Got a battery.
What do you have now? 12.
Mhm. I just built it.
Pretty excited about it.
Awesome.
2 4 6 8 10. So now I have 12 boxes.
Okay. I think all I've ever wanted in this life is a trash compactor. So we're going to pay like such a cute face.
Thank you. Go a little shark.
One energy, two metal.
I can't use it right away because my dice don't match,
but I can pay two cards and matching dice to get two boxes. So h think I'll just go for more car.
Oh yeah, Fantastic Factories. Just a reminder, you can always pay to sweep the market to hunt for those beacons.
This is a really good point. Fantastic Factories. My hope is it'll just turn up organically.
Okay. [sighs] Yes.
Oh.
All right. Next round. I passed.
Final round. This is it. I'm going to pay to sweep the market and hunt for more batter.
Good luck for that beacon.
Okay, so I'm going to pay this resource in order to just get rid of all of these.
Where's the beacon? I bet
a beacon perhaps. A beacon perhaps. A beacon perhaps.
Last chance.
Beacon perhaps. Not a beacon at all. Not a beacon even a little bit. But um that's okay. I I forgive myself
for not getting that. That's fine. Um, I am going to look at my own resources and see if there's anything I can do here. Uh, yeah, I think what I'm going to do is I'm going to just go for points and I'm going to take the mega factory.
Okay,
if this is a beacon, I am going to scream. It's not. Thank god.
That would have been funny. It would have been really funny.
I'm going to take this one here. I have no cards. This is one card.
Beacon of is mine.
Ah, beacon.
A beacon.
All right.
Work.
Roll them dice. Throw back your robots. Hang them out so I don't have to throw back my robot dice.
Oo, I wonder what I do.
These Thinking with our brains.
This
thinking with our brains.
Okay, I think my turn is pretty straightforward. Harvester, two uh dice that are the same. I get seven energy. Three, two, four, six, seven. Moving right along. the nuclear plant, I place a six in order to get one good and one energy. And then battery factory, I spend four energy to get one good. So, I'm going to pick a two and put this one back. Oops. And then moving right along here, I've got my recycling plant. Oh. Oh, no. This is what I was going to do. Go here to research. Grab a card. And then my recycling plant. I spend two energy.
Discard two cards. Oops. In order to get one good and one blueprint, one card. All right, that's the end of my turn. So, I got to make some more change here. I've got two those goods for two good. Need
more resources. I just need more resources.
Okay, go for it.
I'm going to start on my manufacturing. I get a a box and then I'm going to get Oh god. Yes, two metal from that. And then I'm going to get six energy from my power plant. One, two, three, four, five, six. And then I'm going to spend two of those in order to get another box and another metal. And then and then um I'm going to get three energy from my generate headquarters thingy. And then I'm going and then I'm going to spend four of those in order to get another box from my battery factory. And then I'm going to spend a gear, two metal, and an energy to build an assembly line.
Wow.
End of turn.
Well done.
And I think this makes sense. Here's what I'm trying to do. Um, hold on to that. So, this gives me five energy and then I can turn three of them into metal.
Mhm.
So, I'll have three metal and two energy at the end of all that. And then with this amount, I can build my megalith because I get a discount of two metal off.
Nice.
So, it just cost me a megalith.
Yes, but I'm allowed.
Why? Can you build two?
No, because it says, "Reminder, you may only build one megalith."
Oh, no.
I thought it was special. I'm going back in the tank, you guys.
Okay, no worries.
I thought it was the beacon rule.
No, I I think I thought it was just
I thought it was monument stuff.
Yeah,
I thought it was monument stuff.
No, beacons. I think the only one you can build more than one of the megalith is the only one that reminds you.
No, you can build more than one obelisk.
Oh, that's good.
Oh, yeah. Yeah. So I think body are just different from
Yeah.
Well, the megalith is mega, so
it's one less than I wanted, but I can use the same mechanic
to build this obelisk.
That's pretty good.
Now, you do need to discard a hammer.
And that's the part I don't have cuz I did turn to do that.
Do you have an extra die
instead of the other thing?
Nope. Not if I want to get resources.
Okay. Okay. Give me 10 more minutes.
Yeah, no problem.
Do this. We can do this. I believe in you. Okay. We just got to build something for points then. Um. All right. Well, I still do have a trash compactor. Uh, I can pay two cards for two points.
Nice.
You know, they'll definitely be the Obelisk and the Megalith because f those guys. Um, I think my cheapest point for purchase would be uh the refinery. So, we'll need to spend this fitness center. Now, let me do this magic, this evil sorcery here
into I turn I turned some five things into five things.
And you built a lot of buildings back. Nice.
Thank you.
So, in order to have built this, I need to pay that. One, two, three, and four. It's something.
Hey, points.
Something
points.
Okay, you stupid megalith. All right, I think mama's done.
Mama's done. Okay, that's the end of the game. So, we're just
Wait, you still got more stuff?
I have a robot I never use.
Oh, yeah.
Let's see.
A six.
I needed a three or a four. No.
How about the gymnasium? You can Oh, no. The gym doesn't do anything.
Just chilling.
Okay.
It's just chilling. We're going to draw a card. Yeah.
All right. Okay. So, we're going to count the number of goods we got.
I'm sorry. Are are these valuable in the end game?
Uh the used for tiebreers. Uh tiebreers will be I think it's metal, energy, and then cards and then share the victory after that.
Okay.
Yeah. All right. Cool. Uh count the number of goods you have and then any points on your cards and that's your final score.
Okay. Great.
10. Okay.
20 23 for me.
15 16 17 18 23 cuz of my two beacons.
Oh, nice.
24 [clears throat] 25 26 for me.
Nice, Bailey. You all just beacons. Okay, Becca.
Imagine if I had known what I was doing for the first two turns.
I crushed it.
21.
21. Bailey with the winner.
Bailey,
well done. GG, Bailey.
How do you do it? So, I think that means you give me $20.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Let me get it out of my wallet with cash that I carry both of those things.
Well done. So, you are the fantasticest factory of them all.
This is so exciting. This is what I've always aspired to be.
Perfect cog in a wheel.
Yes.
Yay.
Talk about those beacons. Here, your beacons lit the way to victory.
You know what? A third beacon would have been too many. So, I I'm glad I only got two. Wouldn't even want them. Wouldn't even want them.
Yeah.
Yay.
Yay. Well done, Bailey.
Oh, wow. And I just noticed our empty frame has a logo in it as we always intended. So, the new set is working out great. Thanks everybody for um tuning in to the Good Morning Society on our brand new gorgeous set designed by Amy Wilson. And um
wow, congrats again, Bailey, on an amazing win. You are You are the beacon.
You are the beacon to us all.
This feels so special to me. I'm going to go um manufacture some stuff now.
All right.
Y manufacturing.
Yeah. Any final things we need to talk about before we get out of here?
Not from me. What about from you?
No, not for me. What about you?
Not for me. Okay. What about you?
What about you all?
What about play some games, will you?
