Yeah, I know that that the internet sucks and well, you can hear me and see me and that's I I think that's the most important thing. So, let me just get into it a bit. [clears throat] So, I just want to echo some of the things that I said in the video uh during the week.

3:13 Um, I kind of was at, you know, after the auction that didn't go well and I canceled and I stopped it. Um, I decided, you know, something, my time's passed. You know, I I I felt like that athlete that plays too long and I just said, "It's okay. I've been through way too much, too much adversity, and I've been able to overcome so much and and still have this channel go for for 11 years, which for me was really impressive. But I'm not somebody that ever quits anything, you know. Um, like I said, I'm still at the gym all the time. I'm still doing all the things that I do. And you know, here I am in my mid60s and uh you know, and you know, I I I don't know how as as an athlete, and I've always been an athlete, you don't know how to stop, you know, plus all the, you know, you get the the the hate posts and then you get crap from other other um influencers who if you met in person would [ __ ] themselves, okay? Um because they're nothing but, you know, you it's so easy to run your mouth on the internet nowadays instead of just, you know, being a decent human being and then when you get Well, I didn't mean it that way.

4:43 I you don't know how many times I've dealt with that when I've gone to conventions. And I haven't been to a convention in a long time. And you know, the only one I went to was the Dice Tower. And I might go to this year's uh because uh Richard Lius who is a very good friend and Pete um Shyrie is going you know we've been through the fire we've been through arm surgery okay which is I can't believe that COVID which almost killed me okay now this weekend my mother-in-law had a stroke um and my wife's been at the hospital. So, you know, it's just constantly, you know, the move here, you know, I didn't want to move here. You know, that was my big thing, but I did it for my family. I was happy where we were. We had beautiful property. It was, you know, it was worth $450,000.

5:41 Uh, and you know, we had a pool, we had this, you know, why would I want to move to a farm? I just had gotten the studio where I wanted it, even though, you know, it was cluttered. And then, you know, we had the the storage units that were just down the street. And I had everything where I wanted to to make that big push, you know, and, you know, just everything kind of went wrong. Even when I was sick with with COVID, you know, and we went through that whole thing. Uh, you know, the lockdowns and all the other stuff. I streamed every single day, you know, so you guys didn't lose your minds when you were in in lockdown and stuff like that. And you know, there were a lot of games that were very important to me, a lot of print and plays and I want to get back to that. You know, you know, I I I just, you know, with the prior auction, I had gotten the overhead uh bar that I needed for this for this. Now I just need, you know, the camera um and stuff. And and I had sat there and I thought about everything.

6:54 Just can't see it this morning. Um just really really really thought and I said, I'm going to take the time. I'm not going to go live for a while. Um, I had a bunch of videos that were running and I sat back and I said, "You know something? It's just time. It's just time. I'm okay. I'm good. You know, I you know, I I'll sell this stuff on the side and just keep some of it for me and my grandson." And him and I started working on on battle tech stuff, which is which is funny. I have him helping me paint Battletech stuff because he likes the robots. And I said, you know, when he gets older, we'll do this, we'll do that.

7:41 And I was comfortable with it. And I was I was setting up to make a video for the first of the year and say, "Hey, you know, I wasn't even going to say, hey, you know, make a big deal of it." I was just going to go, "Hey, you know, hope you all have a good new year. You know, this is it. I'm done. And then that lady from Cox uh called and it's not a solicitation. We're not trying to sell you anything. And I'm like, "Okay." And you know, we went through this twice with with Xfinity, okay? When they promised us that they were going to hook us up when we moved in here because my son's business runs on that. I work from home still, okay? Because I can't be, you know, around a lot of people because of my immune system. What happened?

8:36 Um [clears throat] and and you know and then the second time when they said, "Oh yeah, we're now running in this area cuz about a mile and a half down the road here, they're putting in a development um on the other side because our county it's farmland. Then there's another county which is about a mile down that the line goes and then they they are building it out of high heavens and if you ever see the villages you know it's in a retirement area so they try to stuff as many people as they can in that area. [cough and clears throat] So you know I I I was like you know I just mentally can't do this again. But they came with a bunch of forms and they want to go through our property. The only problem is running up here and hooking it up and they said because we're letting them through the property, they're going to make sure that we are hooked up. And I'm kind of still a little hesitant about it, but um our neighbors have gotten the same phone calls. We we double checked to make sure it wasn't some kind of stupid thing. Um, and it looks like it's going to go through in the next month. And I said, and it changed my mind. I said, you know something? I'd be able to get back to what I used to do and how much I used to do it. And I just see a Nemesis box

10:08 there. Son of a gun. Okay, I've got to put that into the the box. Okay, so there is another expansion for Nemesis that I seen that I missed. I'm going to put it into the box because we're going to try this auction again. It's starting tomorrow. And what I did is I shot it ahead of time. And this time I showed you everything that was in all the boxes. There are no mystery boxes. And um there's a lot of really good stuff. It's not the same old the same stuff that was there before. I changed it up a bit. Um, at least I have a page here. I believe I did. Yes. And I I I in order for me to keep going, okay? And this is the God's honest truth. And I don't want I don't have a patron. I don't sit there and go, "Well, you know, I need to get paid to do my things." I need new equipment. And this equipment is 11 years old. This laptop is 11 years old. Um, the only newer thing is I have one camera and that's seven years old and everything is just breaking down.

11:32 This computer is barely holding on. Um, and um, you know, right now, you know, with all the things that we're going through, I just can't afford it. And I refuse to go to a patron. I refuse to to beg you for money. Okay? Uh that's not what I do. I'm I'm I'm not an infomercial. I don't get paid by by by other companies. I I mean by by you know, every time somebody asks me, hey, can you take a look at this and what do you charge? Nothing. Just send me the product. You know, send me the product and you know that's good enough for me, you know. And um you know, you can consider that a payment. I I think that's fair. But I don't take money.

There were things that I I refused to to to review that I just sent back, you know, because they were so bad. and um or I made a video and you know I burned a lot of bridges because because you have the guts to say something's not good. You got to have the guts to say something's not good. I mean what's the point? It's [clears throat] not it and I've always said this. It's not that my opinion matters. Okay. It's just my channel my opinion. Some other channel may have an opinion. It's kind of funny. It's like that idiot. um discriminating gamer. Um and I liked Cody a lot, you know, I liked what he did, but he came in here, okay? And and I want to show you how classless people can be, okay?

13:21 And [clears throat] I had done something about GMT and I talked about some, you know, some things and he said, "Yes, I agree. This is a very good game. You should go to my channel and check my my top my top game advertising on on somebody else's channel, which is just douchy and cringey. And I'm like, why would you do that? That is such a douchebag move. I mean, are you that hard up? I mean, the channel his channel is doing very well. Is he that hard up? you know that that you you got to have the views and everything like that. You know, I would never do that. Would you do that to Rodney? Would you do that to Tom?

14:11 So, I just deleted it. And then there was another time uh I was looking at a Warhammer game. Uh it I got it at Barnes & Noble. That's what it was. It was a little introductory thing and I said, you know, this is really good. This is fun. It was one guy versus a whole bunch of things. And I thought it was kind of funny because it was so unbalanced and I I thought it was fun because you don't want to beat something so easily, you know, you want it to be a challenge and try to figure it out. And it it was it was really kind of tough. And I I I said I really liked it and I said, "This is a good introductory thing. This is nice. This is fun." He came on there and put a comment like, "I was the biggest idiot on the face of the planet."

15:04 And I'm like, "You little fat [ __ ] If I ever saw you at a convention, and there's a few of them. if I ever saw at a convention. I think that's one of the reasons I don't go to a convention because I'd get arrested because I'm such an old school guy, you know, [clears throat] and I just want to, you know, I go, you want to run your mouth. Let me show you how we used to do it in the yard when I was a kid. But times are different now. I'm an old man. I don't make sense. I don't fit in. That was another reason I kind of thought things through. [clears throat] But, you know, with this Cox thing and them coming in, I really, it kind of lit the fire again. I said, you know what? You know, I've never given up on anything in my life. I've won everything in my life. I've been very blessed except for that. If you've been around the channel, I told you I told you when I was a kid and I played for Harkco Labs, East Haven, Fox and Down at the Pit and uh oh god, I remember some of the things, some of the teams and it was such a cool thing to play little league and I was always playing in the streets and somebody saw me and said, "You should play little league." and my father was too busy being a cop and my mom had her

16:37 own issues. You know, I didn't have a great upbringing, but um my first year we lost every game in the first bracket. You would play two brackets uh in the summer and whoever if somebody won the two brackets, they were champions. But if one team won bracket bracket A and then they won bracket T uh B because you would play your play each team twice. There were 10 teams. You would face off in a championship game. Well, we lost every game in the first bracket and then the second bracket we won every game. We beat everybody and we had a lot of really good players on that team. We just I mean I you know I was young and then we went to the championship game and we lost 6 nothing and I remember sitting on that bench crying.

17:31 Me and the rest of the kids we were crying like a baby. I when you feel what it's like to lose you know it stings. It stays with you. Okay. I remember the coach from the other other team coming in and patting us all on the head and saying, "Listen, you guys came a long way. You should be very proud of yourselves." Never forget him saying that. And then uh he left and uh you know, he got razed by you know, some of the other teams. Ah, you lost six nothing. We lost six nothing. We They're just And the other team was just really really good. Oh, my sensor ended. Okay, thanks. have to have a a man to take care of that. And um you know it just it stung me but it stayed with me and I never liked the feeling of losing and you know and and it built character. It really did. That's why I, you know, my my kids, my grandkids and stuff like that, you know, I always taught him you, you know, you got to understand what losing is. You got to take it with grace. You don't have to like it. Okay? But how you succeed in life is the fear of losing.

18:56 Okay? I mean, if you won every time and it was easy, what's the point? you didn't earn anything. You have to learn that thing. Uh I'm going to read some of these comments in a minute. So just bear with me, guys. Um and for me, you know, here we stand. Here I sit, okay? And you know, I have a chance. You know, I I you know, if I get, you know, we got fiber, it means I can do all the things that I want to do. Um, you know, I could run two cameras like I used to. You know, if you've seen some of the stuff I did, you know, it wasn't great, but it was acceptable. We got together, we had fun, you know, every evening, 5:00, boom, I was here. And we'd go to about 7 7:30 or whatever.

19:52 And, you know, okay, I'll be back, you know, in a day or two. And you know, me making just making videos was secondhand compared to being live all the time and and doing things. And one of the things I would do all the time is a game that just, you know, it's almost like it's fate in some ways. Um, for Against Darkness, okay, for Against Darkness, the expanded edition, which I just did a video on. And um I found a nice little uh supplement to go with it um that I think you'll really enjoy. Uh you'll see a video on that. And then I did a top 10 list of games, print and play games that I think that you'll really really like.

Um I don't like being that way, but you know what? I can't see I'm not in competition with anybody. I I do my own thing. It's different than than a lot of things. And I hope everybody does really well. And you know, I don't care. I just care about what I do. Um, matter of fact, I'm not even comfortable sometimes doing what I do, but I try it and I do it and I do the best I can. And uh, by the way, I bind everything myself.

I got my my neat little binder here that I was I was working on yesterday, waiting to hear from the hospital to see what's going on with my mother-in-law. They put her in. She's 83 years old. God bless her. And uh we went out to dinner Friday night and she just didn't sound right. And then uh I went to the gym and I came back and my wife was gone and my daughter said they just ran to the hospital. And I went, "Oh, Jesus. Here we go." You know, and um but everything turned out all right so far. She'll be home soon, which, you know, we're hoping everything uh just uh turns out all right.

I'm very very proud of it and um and I thank all of you. You guys have been wonderful, wonderful, wonderful people and I can't thank you enough. But um there is some really good stuff here.

And of course, they took took her right away. And um it's um they're such good girls. They really are. And they did a great job and all the all the people at that hospital did just fantastic. And uh you know it was a long day. Um but everything turned all right. And then last night when things were settled down, I I couldn't even watch it to see if the Seahawks were going to make it to the number one seed, but they looked horrible against the a very depleted 49er team.

Um, Andrea, it shows you how far the channel has fallen. Andrea used to send me a copy every time um, one of his things came out or send me a link. Um, but now, you know, like I said, you know, we've fallen on hard times, so people forget you. And that's okay. That's okay. I still love his stuff and everything like that. And I've printed out a couple things and I've got a couple more expansions. And then I have a tote here that is just filled that I printed out. Tons and tons of of four Against Darkness uh content. So here's what I plan on doing. I am going to try to start some taped versions of this. Um, and then hopefully get my giant mat out because if you remember, I used to had the giant mat and I would put the

Okay, let's be honest, okay, with those stupid terror things, which I don't understand or people are taking advantage of or maybe they're not. I don't know. Uh I I'm not a political or economic person and I don't care. All I care is can I pay my bills? Okay. Um am

If you can get a game like Four Against Darkness and be able to play that for $100 for $10. For $10. Think about that. And then you go get some of these Kickstarters that are five $600 and do you ever get to play all of it? Do you uh is the is it worth it? Is it are is it just are the rules finished? Which half the times they're not? Okay. Is it broken? Is it just a bunch of really nice looking miniatures that you fell for? I mean, that's what happens a lot of times and it's a shame and this is this is the reality of things, okay? Um, you know, Kickstarter and GameFound have have really made things kind of ugly. Look what happened to Cool Mini or not. It caught up with them, okay? They self-destructed.

37:16 And a lot of these other companies that have self-destructed by putting out material, the game's forgotten about, okay? Um, you know, Fantasy Flight, they're trying to come back at least. But, you know, let's be honest, you destroyed Descent. Okay, Descent is garbage, okay? And people love that. You know, even the new Warhammer Quest, Dark Water, you know, decent, but, you know, people just want to play a good game. And I think it is a that one's at least a decent game. People just want to play things that are fun.

38:03 Okay. And you you want to get away from the world. I always say that you always want to get away from the world. Uh you know, you spend way too much time in it. And you know, here you sit and it it it's things should be more affordable. Um, and these print and play things, you know, when I even if you got the book for 30 bucks, okay, all you need is pencil, some dice, some graph paper, and you were off and running and having a great time. Where did it all go wrong? Where did it go crazy? It thing is things seem to get bigger and bigger and bigger. Okay. And then you know you know especially if you're not a Eurog gamer you know you know Euro games tend to be more abstract and this that and the other you know I'm a dungeon crawl guy in a lot of ways.

39:10 Um and you know I just want to have fun. You know I like sports games. I like I like a lot of different games. It's just got to hit my my little niche and um if it does, you know, it's worth it, you know. But, you know, the flood of games that just aren't very good have been very disappointing. Very, very disappointing. [snorts] And it's just meant to have fun. So, you know, this this, you know, these print and plays, I think there's a lot of brilliant people that unfortunately don't have the money to put out a game or or really spruce it up and stuff like that and um they go unnoticed and it's a real shame because there are a lot of great games. So, I tried to do a bunch of stuff on that. So, we're going to have a huge auction tomorrow. Um you'll see the video at 11 o'clock. The auction starts then and then it will end on 111.

The cards are really really nice. It's just an allaround great thing.

It really helps a lot. Um but uh oh I've always done you know I just am technology challenged and uh it's funny I I over the holidays I sent something to my friend Tina the board gamer. Um she's a girl from 12 years ago and she's been in some of the videos that we have and stuff like that. Matter of fact, our Halloween video was one of my favorite videos that we ever made. Uh she came and stayed over the house and uh it made it look like I murdered her. It was the funniest thing. But um um she used to she used to just like

44:30 pound on me. She goes, "You know, your f-stop isn't correct." What the hell is an f-stop? and she would adjust my cameras and stuff like that and and we would try to film things and it was just uh [snorts] I just, you know, I'm not an AV person. So, um this all started, you know, because of that stupid Death Star. you know, I wanted to do something. Um, I wanted to do something for for Tom Vassels. Um, I remember watching the Dice Tower early early early days and going, "Oh, he's he's having this fundraiser at one of his convention. It was the second convention and I built this Death Star and I donated it." Uh, and uh, and I was just praying it would make some money for for them and it sold and it sold for I think it was 400 bucks. Some years ago, a couple years ago, I ran into the guy that purchased it and he says, "We still have that thing. It hangs on our wall.

45:49 would love that Death Star. And I was son of a [ __ ] because I molded all the tiles by myself. Stuck the tiles, painted every tile, uh made the made the trench, um built everything from hand by scratch and it was all to, you know, for charity. And then I would just do bigger and bigger things every year. And then I became part of the Dice Tower for a for a little while. For a little while. And um you know, here we are. You know, it's been it's been a fantastic journey. It really has. I'm trying to fix this stupid clip thing.
