Crowdsurfing - February 18, 2026

The Dice Tower Feb 18, 2026
Transcript 54:10

Good afternoon everybody. That didn't come out right. Let's try it again. Good afternoon everybody. I'm Tom.

I'm Z.

I'm Camila.

Welcome to Crowdfunding. Crowd Surfing, a show where we talk about crowdfunding on Gamefound and on Kickstarter. And every fourth episode, Backer Kids.

That's right, baby.

No backer kids today, right? I don't believe us all anymore. I can always tell because I pull it up. I'm like, "Oh, this looks weird." I was like, "Oh." And then I refreshed the page. I was like, "Oh, it's not on me. It's different."

You feel like the page didn't load, right? You're like, "Oh, it didn't load. Wait, hold on. It's Al Vista.

It's a Geio Cities page."

Yep.

Hey everybody, we want to say thank you to our sponsor, Game Found. And Gamefound always has some cool new projects. Do you like Arkham? We'll take a look at this one.

Do Today we're taking a look at The Void Unveiled: Echoes of Arkham. This here is a game in which you are going into u the storydriven cooperative game where you're going to go into the unknown and fight against a giant creature. Uh let's take a look a little bit how it plays. There's a whole story book here that you're going to follow and pick some branching paths. You're going to explore and find things and get some clues and then eventually you'll fight monsters and combat until you get to the final boss, Cthulhu, in a multi-stage boss fight. And it talks here at the beginning about how each of the different monsters, and you can see some of this stuff is crowdfunding exclusives. Each monster is going to play very differently. You'll have different characters going in and fighting against them. So, there's the exploration, there's the story, and then there is the boss fight. So, all of this is available on Game Found right now. Check it out. You can see the core pledge, the investigator pledge, the big box pledge right here, along with all the different things that have been unlocked so far. So, this is the void unveiled, Echoes of Arkham. I hope you survive.

Hey, we want to do a shout out to some of our game found packers. Thank you to Alex and Elmer Berg House.

Thank you.

Oo, I like that.

Justin, Chelsea, Oriana, and Atrius Smith.

Oriana, that's my RPG character's name. I love it.

To Nicholas Clemente,

Clemente,

and fittingly.

Yeah,

I like that. I like it. Raleigh will rise again.

Peter Van Ruten, Michelle and Lind and their cats, Fargo and Raleigh, and Jay Huber.

Thank you.

Thank you everybody. Thank you all.

Also, Cthulhu,

I welcome you.

Hey, just as a quick reminder, as we're saying in all our videos this week, Friday is the final registration for Dice Tower West in Vegas. If you're going to come, well, you still can. But why would you pay that extra money at the door when you can buy an online ticket right now?

You can turn that money

into game.

And if you do have extra money, also Dice Tower East is coming.

And in fact, this Friday, we're going to show off something new at Dice Tower East. So come by and see the dicear in the Olympics or the closest we will ever get mostly because we're 20 years older. We're 20 years older than most of the athletes there.

Amazing.

That is a true state.

30 years older.

Not the Winter Olympics. I feel like they age the average age is higher there. Depends what 23.

It depends what the sport is. Some of the sports if someone's like 35 I'm like that's old.

Oh wait.

My dream of being a professional sports player

came and went. Oh, quickly like a day like a day came when you were like, "No, I'm not going to do that."

All righty. We'll take a look at some projects here. It's a middling week of sorts, but you never know.

Disagree.

It's openly exciting compared to last

compared to last like month. Really,

colleagues, so do you want this guy who's a friend of Colonel Sanders with a sharpened triangle come after you?

I will say this one charmed me. I had extremely low hopes of this when I first saw it. And the more I looked at the gameplay, I was like, "Oh, that's not as terrible as I was expecting."

The game play I was expecting from the theme and the look before I got to there. Basically, right before I got to there, I was like, there's going to be some stupid exploding kittens thing. Yep.

Where like you play cards that blow your opponent. Something dumb. just dumb art with dumb powers on dumb cards.

But no, it's dumb.

It's this grid and you're trying to play numeric cards and you want to be in the middle so no bosses notice you. That's hilarious. If you're too if you're the lowest number, you're reprimanded. But if you're the highest, you stand out too much and you get extra work

and you have to do the work. Yes. And so it's like you don't want you want to be middle of the road worker because like at the end of the game whoever has the most reprimands is fired and then whoever had to get the most work loses because you want to be that middle of the road employee.

Sounds a little like a game I just played called O

which is a little similar. You all play cards from your hand and there's a chance if you don't play high enough cards you're fired.

But at the end of the game whoever isn't fired, whoever has the most valuable cards in their hands wins because they manage to just slide right. You just want Yeah. You don't want to actually get all the work of the week because then you're having to work twice as hard as everyone else. You know, I don't think we should perpetuate this idea of just working hard enough.

That is how it IS THOUGH.

SHOULD WORK HARDER. WORK HARD.

WORK HARD AND get more work.

Don't do it.

It's a trick question.

Don't do it. Kids barely work. Jok. You're not the boss.

There's no benefit to work harder

than don't work harder. Don't listen to our kids. All right, moving on.

Do not drop out of school.

So, this is a little weird. So, these are dice. Mystic G70 venom infused dice.

Yes.

They have this weird thing here at the beginning. I don't know if you guys saw this. This What is this? They they tell you

there's a flowing Venom, the standard edition, and they'll include free black hot melt material so you can create create the flowing effect. Why would I want to pour this on the outside of my die? I couldn't figure out what the venom because it's like at some point it's talking about the venom is like infused into the dye. Sometimes it makes it sound like the way they're explaining it, it's going to be like a liquid center of venom and then it shows this picture which I'm like I I have no idea what the venom edition is. Plus the venom edition is like the very top edition. So they talk about it in the title and they have this picture but other than that it's just about GEMSTONE DICE. SO AGREE highly confusing product. Did you guys find at any point in this page a video of them showing what a venom infused one looks like?

I did not.

The video at the top is a lot of what you usually get with dice. Panning shots of, you know, stone dice. Panning shot here, panning shot there, smoke shot in reverse.

Great. Everybody does it. You should do it, too. But if you're selling a thing you're pushing as being the most expensive high-end thing that you are definitely going to get sued for from uh Sony, then you should maybe show a video,

right?

Also, why is it

or use that song like ink or anything? It's not It's not actually venom.

It's not like the kind of venom you'll get poison from. It's It's

legally stinky.

Spiderman's nemesis.

Oh, that venom. Is that what this means?

I have to assume.

I just didn't get that either.

Oh, I figured it was like Yeah. His liquidy venom.

Really?

You guys don't think that's what that means?

I don't have any idea what that means. When I thought that you say that, I'm like, yeah,

look at it. No, I get it now cuz I was like, how's that venom? That's ink.

Look, that dye wants to fight crime or maybe eat people.

But you make it yourself. So, it's the whole point because the venom edition is just one addition. They're not coming. There's you're saying comes with this substance that then you drip on it. You you ingest

ideally.

All I know is I want to show up at a gaming event be like, "Hey god, put that picture like

and then like put a light in there so you for this specific one I will roll this die."

I do think that these look really cool, but they're also super expensive. Like that full set right there I want to say was like $700 or something like that.

It was

This is insane. Buy for me. Only way I'll ever get it. Uranium dice.

Gamma.

Okay, move on.

I'm a little disappointed we didn't put it together with Venom.

I'm really surprised. I didn't know what he was talking about. He's like legally distinct. I'M LIKE FROM WHAT?

YOU GUYS ARE embarrassing yourselves. Are you even real DC fans?

Okay,

this is Do you want to know?

Marvel.

This is for um role playing games, but also it could be any board game. Could be literally anything.

Or if you just have a dollhouse. Right.

Right. Yeah. Could be

particularly dimminative.

Okay. That would be a a bit of a stretch, but yes.

Thumbelina is rocking a new mansion with these.

This is interesting. I think I like the idea of multicolored prints, but I don't know. It just scares me. I feel like it's got to be done well in order to look good. And they themselves even talk about how and when it's done, they go through and they do a wash on it. But then because it's uh FDM printed and has the lines, then they have to go through and use paint thinner on it to clean it back up. But I'm like, for the love, like is it worth multicolor if you're still having to go through all these processes anyway

to make doll furniture? I can answer that. No, it's not worth it.

I mean, I think some of this furniture and stuff could be used in some games. That's the thing. I think it some of it looks pretty cool. I think all of it looks very interesting, but I

even if they're showing you the same thing every time, just from different angles.

I don't know. This is

So, this is all plastic. There's no cushion here at all.

Right. That's

Well, then the Dominion people would not be pleased with you. You're like, "Here's a catch." You're like, "It's it hurts my back." You're like, "Hey, well, that's what you get. 3D printing, baby."

But if they're that small, they probably don't weigh that much, so it wouldn't hurt them.

Wow. Way to

physics.

Way to be way to belittle them. really be little. Not okay to say that.

All right. Lodge from the designer of Tiny Towns, but not from the publisher of Tiny Towns. Just as a heads up,

this is from Pickpocket Games. What else has Pickpocket?

They did a Buttonshy. Not Buttonshy, but a small little one.

That Barnyard.

Oh, that Barnard. Barnyard was kind of a Barnyard's a game that was trying really hard to be a

a buttonshy game. It really looked like it. And did I play the vow game? I don't remember. I don't think I've I've seen the barnyard. I don't even know if I played it. This one looks all right.

I like the idea of the tiles and the sort of puzzly nature of it. Very tiny towns actually. Um I'm not sure if I love how flimsy that board looks. There's this gimmick of like, you know, you tip the board over and everything slides, but in the video they do it and it looks really flimsy. I hope it's not.

I think it looks pretty imprecise as well. There's one image specifically here where you have to play the tile on whatever row you take it from, you know, so if you take it from the second row, you have to play it in your second story, right? But they're not like clearly delineated. And so if you take one, you're kind of moving the others and in their own image, there's two on there. It's like I can't see if that's on a second row or third row. It's like instantly fiddly.

Do you think it would help if you had does it does it look imprecise in front of the players or or on that slidy board? on the slidy board. Then players, you don't have a board. You're just putting it on.

Yeah. But with like a player mat help a player board or a player mat maybe.

Yeah. But then you have to like manually move them down with your fingers. You don't get to pick it up and they slide.

Yeah.

Well, this is interesting. There's a Tiny Town's promo pack in here.

Oh.

Which is kind of a

Is that legal? I mean, they're making a promo for a different company.

Well, I'm sure there's some legit logistics. They're working with a permission to do that.

I'm assuming so, but I think it's cool. We don't often see a lot of cross company promotion.

That's interesting. That's interesting.

I'm assuming they're not asking permission.

I like those draw bags. Those look kind of cool.

And you like the look of this, right? You like the art and everything.

I do like this art. It has a What is that look? I mean, there's something.

It's almost like a pulp comic cover feel.

It's like It makes me think of like the aqua the the what is it? The Aquinaut. What is that called? The West Anderson. Sorry. The Eternaut kind of look. Oh, interesting. I guess I I think it's like Sashi and Sashi with a pop culture.

Yes, that's what it looks like. Sashi and [clears throat] Sashi. Yeah.

Bam. Now that.

Yep.

My reference was too high for Luden.

Yeah, I was. I stopped as soon as it referenced things I didn't understand and confused me.

Stay in the board game lane.

Go Viking R.

So, this is basically go with a Viking theme. So the stones instead of being black and white, they're blood red and sea blue or no. No, it's a dice game. That's what it is.

Okay.

I was like, WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? I WAS LIKE, NO, JUST cuz I missed the venom does not mean I missed. I was like, what?

Like,

did we really miss it by that much?

We don't trust ourselves anymore.

Well, I wasn't sure what you WERE TALKING ABOUT. LIKE I WAS LIKE, THERE'S NO WAY

there's dice here.

Viking. It's some dice game, you guys. It's some light dice game.

Where the dice, the co-pieces? What's good,

this I was actually surprised that this was a multiplayer game because as I'm looking through it and it's describing, I was like, "Okay, that's a pretty cool solo." Oh, and look, there's a solo campaign. And then I went back up and looked like, "Oh, wait. One to four players." So, I'm really confused on how you play this with other people.

It seems. Yeah. I got the feeling this was very like a zombie dice or whatever that game is. A push your luck dice game.

You roll, you reroll, you might miss your whole shot.

Yeah. going to have to pull back your dice or whatever. Um, yeah, it looks kind of It looks kind of interesting. It It has an interesting look. I like the looks a little dull to me. The pieces, the

the dice, the whole thing looks sort of neat, but it also looks a little I don't know how to describe it. Looks a little machine-made. Like it it looks slightly soulless. something like designed by committee or there's something about it that feels a little soulless.

Okay. Interesting. I did I did like the simplicity of it. I do like that it's like you have some runes that have some individual powers to them and they each come with a card to remind you what those powers are. Um, and I thought the the dice, the special d, not the special dice, the uh unique dice, you know, not just a d6. It's not, you know, um, and I I thought the designs were pretty striking on them, but

yeah, I love I mean, anything that has custom dice is already going to be something that's interesting, a little more interesting than not, but um,

yeah, I don't know. And this is one I'd like to try because it does bring to mind

a lot of those very light dice games. Zombie Dice, the one from Kenitzia, the the the Shogun dice or whatever that one is.

Yeah, those like very light dice game. Push your luck like dice games is kind of the vibe I'm getting here.

Yeah, this would definitely be like a I would try this. Yeah.

All righty. Glad this thing keeps popping.

Should we support Dice Tower?

It keeps popping up. All right, quick draw battle for Silver City. The laws caught in a tense shootout with bandits. Asymmetrical team building and dueling card game.

You guys were talking a little bit just a moment ago of buttonshy games. This very much feels like a buttonshy game.

Oh yes, I could see that.

Is it 18 cards?

It's about 18 cards, I think. I uh

Yep, it's 18 cards. I swear this this weird description we must two sheets of nine. I'm guessing

two sheets of nine. [clears throat] Yeah, I think that's what it Yeah, but is no game good at 27?

No.

But why go to it if you need to? I think the point is

because a lot of these 18 cards more cards when

you can do it in 18.

I don't know.

Also, a lot of these games are like here's the 18 card game plus three experience.

Well, that's the problem. That's right. When it gets to that. But yeah, this one did not look interesting to me at all.

I like the art a lot.

I think this is a if you like the theme, you'd be interested.

But that was probably about it. That's sister and brother. Okay, I like the look of this one. I think it's neat. This is one I'd like to try. I'm not sure if it's going to go the distance, but I do like the idea of you place some cards for their character and then the other ones are the bullets,

right?

So, you load the character and the ones that have the really good abilities are also the ones that give you the the best chance to shoot,

right?

So, you got to decide,

right?

Do they go face up for the ability or do they load a different character to let you maybe get get better odds of of shooting. That's an interesting idea.

And I think that sounds really interesting. I would just want more like game behind it. It seems like that's it. I'm like, do Tomms, you know, point Y 18 cards. I would want and then what? And then what do they do once you make that decision? Oh, you shoot at each other.

I agree. It might be too too binary of a choice and then there's nothing to back that up.

It's also like they just are copying Buttonshy. I mean, their packaging looks like Buttonshy.

There's a few companies now that are doing this. I know, but I mean I don't know that I love that. I guess you could argue, oh,

this is the new box.

Sure.

Yeah. I don't I don't have a problem with that. Yeah.

I don't know. Just again, I'm also yelling about these gigantic games. I'd rather there be more small games than gigantic games at this point.

Yeah.

Yeah. Yeah.

All right.

All right. It's getting old.

2024.

It's gonna be on every Kickstarter. All right. Logic and Lore second edition and expansion. We played this live, I believe, last week. When I say we, it was

myself and Chris. Yes. Yeah. This is cool. I enjoyed my play of this quite a bit. This is a very interesting head-to-head deduction game actually where you are um trying to sort the cards on your side of the board. Sort them one through nine. And the way you do that is by showing your opponent a couple of them and then asking them questions about which one's higher, do they add up to something specific? Is either one in the right location already? Things like that. So, you go back and forth kind of doing this. Um, the base game is kind of like that. And then this is has an expansion that they're uh crowdfunding here, which involves more moving parts. Dice you manipulate, not for rolling a dieice, but like the die face now denotes what number you may ask about or what number you're referencing in your questions.

There's a little more to it. I kind of just liked the some of the more basic ideas of the game, but if you play this a lot, I could see those expansions that have all that stuff giving you more more legs, right? Um I'm not quite there yet. I did enjoy the basic game more than not. More

I will say this is one of the few games I think that looks much better in person.

Like I think it looks fine here in person. This these cards look really impressive. I was very impressed with how it looked.

Yeah. What is their logo? Does he have like

It's a weird giraffe.

Well, thank you. I get that. Um, given the name. I meant like what? Like does he have like a a headpiece on?

No, I think they're like the little They're little horns that giraffes have.

No, not in his head. Like what is What is that?

Oh, those are his hands.

Oh, I see now. Okay.

He's going to give you a huge hug.

I thought it was like head gear on his bracelets.

Why is he striped?

I see now.

Is he a part?

I think he's he's weird. Is he's wearing He's wearing a nice shirt.

Got it. Oh,

you should know these things, Tom. We're draft is a company who's each

consecutive game, I think, gets better than the last. The first games they were a little hit and miss with them and I think their last few games I've I've just been seeing great strides with them.

Oh, cool. That's good. I like the

Yeah, this is good.

Back door. Explore, fight, evolve. I am really pumped about this game.

There's a lot of things I like about this. I like the fact that it is 60 minutes. Not 60 minutes broke up into 18 chapters, but a single 60 minutee game.

As long as it is like, is that true? That's what I need to know. Like,

don't ask these questions.

Well, okay. Right. But if they told me if they told me it was two hours, I'd be happy because this is a single game. What is what I'm saying? You're setting it up and playing it. I like the fact that they're using meeples instead of miniatures. It's just a nice change of pace. I like the art on it.

I think the meeples fit the art style, which is really cool. I hope the game play is good. That's my only thing I don't know about. But everything else

just looks fun.

I agree. It's a good looking game. I like the cards. I like the abilities. It seems seems good.

The cards are super legible. Although, like I said, this seems like that I want a quick dungeon crawler one that, you know, because I mean, this is very much my style of game to boil that down. I think, like you said, the Meeples was a good choice here. It fits the art style. This is checking a lot of boxes.

Cool.

Yeah. There's just there's a lot of games nowadays that are really fun and interesting and then I read and they're like 74hour game. I'm like, okay, that's fine. And I'm not even that's not bad. I just there's a lot fewer of these.

Yeah.

Period. It's hard to think of one off top of my head right now.

That is an hour. But it looks fun. I like this 3D where you're kicking people off treetops, too. So, I'm hoping this is good. But the production looks good. I think this is their

Wait, what's that?

Has Tom played it? No, I think I just that's from my

That's from literally right now just someone's behind the scenes furiously typing. Yeah.

No, but I mean just from me reading and watching I just I guess said that I think it just looked really different. I think I this was in one of our little videos where I talked about it.

Maybe news like the the found video. Yeah. Oh, that's so funny. That's that's amazing. Have they done

Have they done anything else? Fox Troll Games. I don't think so. Yeah, I don't know. But I'm telling you, it just this hits me in everything I'm interested in. I'm very excited about this.

That's really good looking.

That's cool.

Wandering Traveler, would you like a foldable combat map for Dn D?

No, thank you.

I think No, I really thought this is a cool idea. I thought like not I thought this was really cool because it also comes with layers so you can change like what the terrain looks like and it also has that clear overlay if you need to mark on it, things like that. I thought this was really cool and I was actually happy to see that it's not an STL that it is a printed molded mold um not mold infused but printed product that they're doing. It's not and here's the SDL. You can do it yourself so it'll never look as good as what we're showing you in this rendering, you know. Um I thought this is pretty cool.

It's kind of a weird unnecessary thing that I can see some people loving it. To me, I would like this a lot. My concern with just looking at how it is there now, that's a very one-way look. If I'm sitting on the other side of the temple, that table, that's not going to look as good. The reverse side because I'm seeing the highest down.

Oh, I see what you're saying. Yeah. Yeah. But you can also, I mean, use it for flat or whatever. I think something like this would significantly help me in RPGs. I struggle in combat to be like, "Okay, am I near anybody?" It's like, "Yes, you just did him last time." I was like, "All right, I forgot. I didn't know if he ran away. How many people are there left?" Like, I would probably like an RPG that had a more structured combat.

I think so. Or one that I can visualize. I have a hard time with that visualizing what is actually happening in it. So, I think something like this would be be really helpful to me.

I have a question. Does I did not notice this. I looked at this. I was like, "Yeah, whatever. This is dumb." Can you stop it halfway through the unfolding? Can you leave it?

I did not see that.

That's what it's looking like. I mean, it looks like they have it.

I think it's just an image of what it looks like in between steps. I don't think it ever can stop halfway. Right.

Well, no, they right there. They just stopped it. Yeah. I don't know how it locks like that though, right? I wonder.

Yeah.

Okay. Okay. I guess I like the idea of it being tiered. That's kind of neat. You know, that's a quick way to do that. But the folding a big square into a large slightly larger square is just stupid. I don't get that one. I I don't get the

that's a lot of mechanisms and hinges and whatnot to go from that size to a slightly bigger. But if all I I disagree cuz I think if these are all individual squares that you're taking and then you're setting them up. I mean they're going to get bumped that like this is going to stay tight together, you know. And also you're taking one one piece with you. You're not taking four or five that are moving around the bag maybe getting bumped and broken,

you know. So

I do like the fact that it ends up being one piece.

Yeah.

King of the Pirates.

King of the Pirates.

King of the Pirates.

What are you talking about?

One Piece. Oh, I thought that was a spoiler for our next RPG episode.

Um,

I love all this little like messaging we're doing.

I want to be king of Okay. Anyway.

Oh, you mean One Punch.

One Piece.

It's One Punch kind of.

No, she did One Piece in One Punch. Okay. Anyway,

she gets a fist bump for that.

Yeah, I did. Oh, I nailed it. That's my one like

Anyway,

the Kepler told me a deck building space adventure. I'm not sure I love this cover because I kept seeing a bird. I couldn't unsee that giant raven there.

I love this color. So that color covers.

Oh, it's a helmet.

Yeah.

Why does that guy have such a sharp helmet? It bothers me so much.

Defensive p purposes.

It's funny. He's feeling peckish.

Okay. Well, anyway, it's a deck building game. Yay. That brings you out.

I'm on a roll. Got to stream now. Chris, I had some problems with you. You've infected everybody.

I really like the look of this. And I'm not even a big uh deck building fan, but I think this one looks pretty fantastic. I like the And yes, some of the heavy lifting is being done by the look here.

Agreed. Yeah.

But I like the theme, too. to the sort of bizarre post-apocalyptic idea of in the world of tomorrow, the cities of the world take to space, just the entire city like and goes into space and try to make it to Kepler and you're doing things along the way before you make it to Kepler to try to survive. That's just a funky idea. I love that. It's very young adult

something about that, you This is almost um the Robert Heinland style.

Yes.

Where this this mid60s7s youthful sci-fi.

Yeah.

Almost pulp fiction. I I I think it looks cool. This is another We've seen several this week of new publishers doing stuff.

Right. I'm liking the look of this one a lot. It sounds like a fun like a fun game.

Yeah, it looks good.

All right. Tool stack. You want to 3D print a toolbox?

I don't. No, I don't want to put my tools possibly breaking and going all over the garage floor after I just spent three hours organizing them to put them in here. No, I don't want that.

I agree. I

I do not want that that those points of failure.

This is technically this was in the gaming thing because I guess it's for gamers and their tools. It was a weird spot to have it

features like what do you

This was not in this is in the gaming section that this came across.

I

that makes no they mis they misplaced it then. They put it in the wrong place cuz why would it be in the gaming site? There's nothing about this that says gamers to me.

I don't know what to tell you.

I mean, like I said, maybe miniatures and you're keeping all your tools and brushes.

Amazing tool boxes you can buy right now.

Yes, absolutely.

There's amazing tool boxes. Moving on.

Yeah.

All right. Ludos the ancient games collection. Now, this one surprised me with how well it's doing.

Yeah, I know.

We have the first one of these.

We have one of them, right? Asian, maybe. I don't know. They've done Yeah, they've done three others. This is the final one. They're saying there's one for Africa, one for Asia, there's one for America's, and now this is the European collection of four ancient games. But the cool thing about these collections is that they games they they they make them look really good. They come in these little bags as you see there. The boards are normally like a a soft cloth board. Pieces are nice. This doesn't feel uh cheap, like a quick cash grab or a cheap sort of way to to deliver you. It doesn't feel like

educational, if you know, if you understand what I mean. It's not like, "Well, we made this to

just show you what this old game used to be like." They're like, "No, we're going to take it and we're going to produce it as though we were producing a new design."

Yeah, we have those. Yeah, you're right. We have the age. We should probably get around to playing these.

I've played it.

You have? Yeah. How does that box work? It shows an image.

There's someone in this very room. [snorts]

You got him to play abstracts.

I got him to play an abstract.

Was there a gun?

He got me to play a game with him.

Joey doesn't know what it was.

Greatest achievement.

How does that box work? Cuz it looks like they come out like

it's a square box and there's like a little drawer over here. Got it. And a little drawer over here. And then two over here.

So they're drawers. I didn't know. It's like Okay. All right. Interesting. My concern with these games is the same as those Peg games we played, the other company that made these ancient games

is that

Cracker Bear.

Yeah. Cracker Barrel type games is that these ancient games are ancient for a reason. You know, they didn't have all the game development. So, at best when I play these ancient games, I'll go,

it's not bad,

but these have been developed. One of them was developed by Rain Kitia.

Are you serious?

He fixed He fixed the past.

STOP LYING ON VIDEOS. I refuse to lose the lies.

No. So when you played the other therefore, were they good, fine, or

are they like every other abstract?

Okay. I looked at Joey. Joey said fine, which for him is like a two out of 10.

They were they were okay.

Yeah.

No, a fine.

He was like

a fine for Joey is like a seven. Are you kidding?

No, I know what his les No, I know his number is I'm saying that translated to Yes. Yes. Yes. Like a five.

Yeah, he rated a seven. It's actually a

They were very okay. They were very okay. They were average. They were very well produced. Look, there's no surprise here. You know what you're getting.

Old games from forever ago, but nicely made.

You kind of know what you're getting. And I think if you enjoy that idea of this is a relic, but made to today's aesthetic sensibilities, then I think you're there's not a lot of surprises there. You kind of know what you're going to get. I like that. But

okay, moving on.

Yes, please. Moving on. Taking back all my fist bumps.

Final Girl series 4.

Hey, speaking of themes,

this one's a little weird to me because I I guess I'm confused on the how this

works because it's series 4.

Yes.

But they also released a bunch of stuff last year that was just not part of a series.

That would be series.

It was series like the stuff they released at Gen Con was still those are single like like single boxes. That's not a whole So a series

Shut up. I'm asking serious questions.

They only they only kickstart like the whole series where it's like, "Hey, here's our next four boxes." when they go to Gen Con it's like I think if I'm not mistaken it's like a single print run kind of stuff like specifically if that one was about convention going to conventions

that's what I'm asking

so dumb questions

what if I want everything from varon box

they have that [clears throat]

yes

800

good night in the morning don't worry about it

$800

okay but it's a lot of stuff man it really is a lot

look at that picture look at that

I'm sorry you do not you do not need that much final

comes with it own. No, it doesn't.

You don't need that much final girl. Pick the three themes that you like the best and get those.

If someone in his office will lend me their final girl, I will play it.

All right. I'm saying that now because I want to try.

Uh, no. Mine's not saying

bring it.

All right.

Okay. So, the new themes that they're that they have in this one, they always sort of are like

they they what do you they're inspired by I don't know what you call it. They're ripping off other IPs without being sued.

I didn't say that.

They're ripping off other intellectual properties,

but distant enough to not get sued.

Anyhow, okay, so Raptors

Raptors is based on something called Jurassic World, I believe.

Bit grief, you need to stop talking.

I will say I I think my I think that this series 4 is much more exciting to me than series honestly two or three. Whoa.

This is this is one. But I agree with what Z said. We're at this point.

Pick the ones that you're excited about and get those cuz you really don't need everything.

Okay. Get those dinosaurs. Is this Predator?

Yes, it is. Okay. The green Terry looks kind of cool.

I'm stoked about that one.

Wow. Dakota looks kind of cool, too. I would be more afraid of her, I think, than the Predator.

Dakota is a killer.

And then we got She's like a haunted woman. Oh, a possessed nun. Yes. She's in an elevator, probably. All right.

I don't get that one, but okay. That one.

And Lindy, again, the final girls to me always look almost as scary as the monsters.

They're not scary. They're tough.

But yeah, that's what I mean. I wouldn't mess with them either.

And you shouldn't. That's why they're the final girl.

Grimlash, a rotten harvest.

This one so much.

Is this Children of the Corn?

I think it's supposed to be like pumpkin head kind of thing.

Oh, there it is. I see the pumpkin. These look really cool. Yeah, like this one is one that I bet O I I I would have a hard time picking. And then of course Five Nights at Freddy's like AH JUST

BAD TIMES at Buddy Land.

Yeah. Every single one of these. I'm like the they nailed this series I think for my personal interest. But get the ones you're interested in. That's what I love about this is you don't have to get all of them. You can get all of them. You can get some of them. You can mix and match as long as you have the core box

if you Okay. So if you back That's what I'm trying to figure out here. So let's say I want to buy this

what

this

I like cart is the way best way.

This is a ketchup box.

Yeah.

So this is only the raptor girls. I'll s What if I want to start here? Can I?

Yes.

Yes. So if you go all the way up to the top, it's all

you need to add a core box for $25

which is at the very top. Yeah.

Well, that's if I just want to get one of them.

$25. What if I want to get all all these monsters?

Just series four right here. series 119 plus 25

for the core box if you don't already have it which I do appreciate that as well because if they included another

show you another core box right yeah like hey you can get if you don't have it if this is your on-ramp you also have to add this but you don't have to have it

yeah I agree that's a great way to do that cuz you just need the one core box once from any series it doesn't m it's the same thing they only ever made it

mystery box thing that they're

oh the mystery box is so cool because the mystery box is something that they do specifically for each campaign um that in the past like I I think I can spoil the first one now.

Whoa.

Whoa. It was u It was just dice that helps you randomize what you're going to play. And so it had two dice in it. One for the location and one for the killer. And so you would roll them and then that tells you, hey, you're going to play this baddy over here. You're going to play you something like that. So it's a randomizer thing. And that's all it is. It doesn't change the gameplay. It doesn't do anything. It's just some little like mystery box of something fun.

But it and that was just one of them there. They've all been something.

They've all had some. Yeah. Yeah. That was that was the season one.

Okay. All right. Cool. Spoiler alert.

Okay. Yes. Spoiler alert. It's also like five years old at this point.

Yeah.

All right. This next one we're going to uh be playing tomorrow here on the channel. Gold Country and Totally Human. We're going to be playing both of these games here.

Uh so Gold Country. I I'm going to try.

It almost looks like a religious image. It does.

I was like I'm trying to figure out the designer of it, but it will come to me soon.

Wow. Look at that. That that that framing is almost like we are gathered here today

to celebrate the life accomplish almost like either a wedding invitation.

Yeah. My god.

Yep. It's funny.

Okay. So, but they are talking about his new

I love that gold tier game. Is that what it says? A new gold tier title. Okay.

Oh wow.

I am really enjoying Riner Kenitia's collaboration with Bitewing. It's working well.

Yeah. Yes, it is. I don't love every game that he has done, but he's done quite a few. And um yeah, so looking forward to this a 30 to 60 minute game. But then they're doing this other game that Casper Lap here who's known for these crazy, you know, party style games. And the new one is totally human. So this is the one where we're going to Well, I guess some people are humans and some people aren't. I guess we'll find out more tomorrow.

That one sounded interesting. I think unfortunately the party games that like he's designed I'm like a little less interested. But this one I thought sounded interesting. Kind of reminded me of any of those Dixit style games. You know where it's like you have to submit a card and then they're like and figure out who didn't have the clue on what to submit it. You know it's not Dixit but it's that kind of games. But it's it's

word matchups that seems like they'd be really fun. It reminded me of one of my favorite

things that are unnecessary in games is in um Bad Company [snorts] where you make like your your your gang name, right? And that's kind of what this is reminding me of. It's like two words that don't go together or go together in a funny way, you know? I think that would be a cool

partyesque.

Oh, I want those those metal prospecting pans.

For what?

I I don't care. Something

dinner.

How big are they? Do you roll dice in them? Ah, my ears hurt just watching that.

I'm definitely dropping the coins in now. All right, that's cool.

Like I said, come back again tomorrow. We'll have more on this. All right, this next one I put in here just because this is the pirate board. This is what we're playing through our

There's actually two projects. This is their official one. There's also another one that you can find if searching that's like a Pirate Borg fan base thing that they're doing.

Oh, cool.

So, yeah, Pyroborg is it has rapidly really endeared itself to me on how loosey goosey it is, but it has fun little things. This is exactly how the book looks this way. This dungeon is and they tell you everything and so it makes my life so much easier. I don't have to read tons of text. It gives you a paragraph and you can expand on it or not.

Yeah, that's nice.

I do find it amusing that they're like, what is it the

the somewhere in Pirate? They're like, this is Oh, we got the I got an ad for it in the email and they're like the worst RPG ever.

And they call it that because they're like you're not heroes in this. And I was like, I know. I've really noticed that

amongst the people playing.

What?

No, this has been this has been a good one. It's a neat RPG. I uh

you can also download this stuff. I think you can buy the PDFs of it, too.

Oh, okay. That's cool. I've never messed too much with these sort of really indie RPGs, but if this is anything to go by, that's cool.

Yeah, this one I've enjoyed the setting, the world and everything. I enjoyed this one. Um, so I'm cool. It's cool to see it doing like a next step, you know, like another one when you're done with that one or want something a little different. Yeah.

Yeah,

I'm excited for that.

Okay, then we got Eternal Ruins, the roleplaying game. Um, why did I put this one on here?

I missed this. Oh, no. No, I saw

I just put this on here because I thought it was a it was a different looking RPG. So,

it's cozy. It's a cozy RPG.

I love cozy things.

They do call themselves a cozy RPG.

No, but you know what? I don't know that this like I looked at this and thought maybe my kids would want to play. I don't know.

Just made me laugh cuz it's like you're like anti- cozy.

The title, you know, anti the throwing it out there when the game is not cozy. But this looks okay. You think it's cozy, Tom? You think it's going to be cozy?

You know what? If you want to make a cozy RPG, you really could. And just like, "Hey, you guys, your neighbor came over,

you know, and you could make it."

And then what happened?

They they said, "Hey." And then you played checkers.

Cozy.

That did not happen.

The fire crackled.

Yeah, I think that's good. You're right.

Checkers and chill.

All right,

so myth works.

Is that all the board games? No, we got some playing cards. minimalist play.

No, I think that was we can just jump out now for good.

This is a king of diamonds. They have to tell you

because you have no idea what you're looking at.

Do you get a player aid to go with this deck of cards? I'm going to need to drive you nuts.

This drives me insane. I hate this so much.

The number of vertical bars.

Look at that. The number cards are white. Court cards are solid. Oh, [sighs]

those are like that's a a a jack, a queen, and a king. No,

the thing is I hate that so much.

I don't hate the design of these cards. I hate it as a replacement of a deck of cards because you don't think about a deck of cards. And whether that's because of our, you know, prolonged exposure and growing up with them, that kind of stuff, but like you know what they are. This is too offbeat. I have to process every card I'm holding. But if this was cards and it was like one through three in two different colors in a board game, like, "Oh, those are interesting designs." you know, like so I I like the design. I just don't think it works as a deck of cards.

So, this is a nine, four, one, and four.

Yes, that's a nine of clubs. Yes.

Which is clearly distinct from the seven.

No kidding.

Well, it is distinct from the seven, but it is not that hard to tell apart because it'll have the line in the middle.

No, you mean eight.

Sorry, the seven and the nine. You're right. Yeah. Yeah. It's like, come on. No, this is just

Yeah.

And they keep pushing this whole It's minimalist. Not if I have to do more work to read it than not. It's not minimalist.

Minimalism has no business in board games.

Don't minimize everything. I want to see what it does. I agree with that. I want to see what it does. I don't mind minimalism. I think it's okay to clear the way, you know, to make things

clear to tell like that's not minimalistic.

Yes.

Not at the expense of functionality.

There it is. There it is.

Delicio has a good point. Joey can use. Is this your card? Are people like,

"I think so." Probably.

Yeah. You're like, "Yeah, I'm awesome.

I even I could be a magician with these."

They're all hearts. You're like, "Is this your card?"

Yes. All right. Uh, we got a few. Wait. Infinity dice cube.

Okay. Did you guys ever find a video, anything like that of this where the dye stops?

Oh, interesting.

And everyone they are just spinning and spinning and spinning and then they cut away to something else. I'm like, "Yes, I get it. They can spin very fast for quite a long time."

Usually the things that spin that fast, you just then press your hand down,

right? But then show us that you never saw it stopping it stop cuz I wanted to know like how precise is that error. Are I don't think these are clicking. I Well, it did show that they're not clicking. They're free spinning.

Yeah. No,

but you know, to be random, that means All right, hold on, guys. Let me roll my dice.

Refuse mediocrity. I pull out some dice and Camil's like,

"Yeah,

really?"

I agree.

Spin this. And then it does the thing you hate the most, which is land on the line.

On the line, right after, you know, spun it for 20 seconds.

Also, I can't read that 20 almost at all.

That being said, I do think this is a neat little fidget. I love the way it like Jacob's ladders opens and closes and fiddles and you know, I really like this. This is really cool tool.

How much is it though? Thousands. Not bad at all. That's like a set of RPG dice. I mean,

yeah,

within the range of them right now, actually. So,

can you can you fill these with venom?

No, they do come in a cool color, though. There's like a cool um purple kind of not iridescent, but like oil slick kind of looking.

Glow in the dark.

That's glow-in-the-dark, which is cool.

Use that on my Stranger Things campaign.

Okay. Yeah, these look these actually look pretty good with the colors.

Right. And then

I don't hate the red one either.

If you keep going though, there's one. That one. I like that one. You can't read it. I wish it had white numbers in it.

Yeah, white on earth. Why are the numbers not white?

Right. But I think that

I love though the good luck 20 luck 2026 one. It's just it doesn't it's just one. It's a D1.

Why would I want that one?

I don't think you do. I don't I'm assuming that one's just a placeholder, right? If you press that, someone on Earth dies, but you get a million dollars.

All right.

You know what you're talking about.

Do we have any uh anything any other videos besides picture?

All right. Well, we got a couple weird projects.

First, we have the Pittsburgh potty.

Okay. How is this different than this product that already exists?

What's What is it?

PooPourri.

PooPourri. Yes, I know this because I've seen those commercials.

Pooper and every other knockoff that they sell at the dollar store. You know what this is?

Well, it says you do it beforehand.

That's what is. Yeah.

And it's oil based, so it sits on top of the water. So, when things happen,

it below and locks in the smell.

Right. Yeah. Yeah, it's the same thing, right? Isn't this what that

Yes. So, and this

to be fair, I don't think I don't think Kickstarter requires that you invent something to go to Kickstarter.

Why does this guy think it's worth going to Kickstarter when he has a product?

Yeah, it says Pittsburgh.

When you have to make a pits stop

90%

bring the Pittsburgh potty.

90% of all these will be bought as gifts. I mean, I will say I think this stuff is an it is a really cool product. It works very well. Um, but I just this is then just make it.

It's It's out there.

All right.

Oh, that's interesting. Eight backers, $1,800.

Oh, good call, Mike Delisio. Good call.

So, that's a new name. That's going to be the new name for uh for laundering money, the Pittsburgh Potty.

The Pittsburgh Hey, I got to go down to the bank and make the Pittsburgh potty.

Hey, I want to see what which one they can't see

the retail case. One person backed that. That's 200.

One person backed the 105. That's 305.

Uhhuh. Sure.

And one person backed

Wait 40. That's 345.

And then this one is 357.

Zero backer.

So where the

I'll tell you where it came from. The Pittsburgh potty. $1,500 unaccounted for.

Put them up, kid.

Whoa.

All right. And then finally.

Oh, wow.

Okay.

I want to hear what you have to say cuz I

Okay. So, first of all,

you're going to disagree.

I was more interested in his other his his main product is this weird

Yes.

It looks like a credit card. It I think I can just show

piece of foam. It's a piece of foam that is

you put in hot water and then you can grile make plastic. And he uses it a lot for Oh, he shows right here. Sorry. Here it is. Here's the thing. You put it in there and it's a quick and dirty fix for the screwdriver doesn't shows it really well. It's it's

or he can make you the ugliest sunglasses you have ever seen.

You know why he's doing this though?

Why?

So this is a product that he started he made 10 years ago and it's done well and he now sells it and that's like part of his business like he has this business and he started on Kickstarter. Hasn't been to Kickstarter since. Now here this is the 10th anniversary and he wanted to do something cool to kind of celebrate that with the product. So, this is a celebratory 10th anniversary. I have collected all these sunglasses on my walks and I'll make you a pair of sunglasses. So, what I think is cool is I'm probably not going to like the sunglasses. Well, I guarantee I'm never going to wear the sunglasses, but a cool way to get the product because then you can remelt it down and use it. So, you're still getting the product, but I'd rather celebrating. But, he's celebrating his 10th anniversary. So, he's going back to Kickstarter specifically because of that anniversary and presenting the product in a different way. Like, it's celebratory. I think this is a really cool way to celebrate the 10th anniversary of this product that you invented.

I think it's supposed to look ugly as I think it might be on purpose, but it's celebratory. Like that's

I think it's like a an eye-catching like whoa, these are terrible looking sunglasses.

What is that?

Oh, it's a product you can melt

with hot water and then shape it into whatever you want and it reh hardens when it cools.

Right. If you hate this, I do I do agree that it's a good like eye catcher because if you hate this, you might just then be like, "Gh, no, but I will get some of those credit cards,

right,

that I can melt." And you know what I mean? Like that's a good discovery.

I agree on where does it show here in in his project itself that this one I was like, "Oh, he like it's a quick fix. Oh, your kid broke their shovel." Like, "Oh, don't worry. I got it, kid." briefly you can use that shovel or like I I just have the screw and I need something to hold it when I'm

that I like. I just think the sunglasses thing is really dumb.

I think I think it's but it's kind of it's again just to get attention on the product to celebrate it and it's something he's doing with it. But at the end of the day, you also get the product because he's sending it to you. You

rather get a clean one to be fair because this might have some impurities from being handled,

right? Agreed.

But if this is what he wants to do to catch people's eyes

Yeah. which he did. I mean, it's working, right? Um,

I'm happy to discover the thing. I don't want the sunglasses. Thanks. I'll just get some of these pieces of plastic I can melt. And

I think I would back the sunglasses and add on a couple sheets of this plastic, too. You know what I mean? And then if I like it, cool. I can melt it down. If it doesn't work, it doesn't. But I'm getting the clean one that I might use and the sunglasses just to

be a cool centerpiece, you know? I mean, like I could see it just being a thing that that I enjoy. It's almost like more a thing you leave somewhere as like an eye-catching like what is that?

Yeah.

All right, it's time for picks of the week. So, before we get to ours, let's go to the big shocker surprise. That is Mike Delissio's pick of the week.

Wow. Hey there, everybody. It's Mike Delisio. And to the surprise of no one, my pick of the week is going to be Gold Country coming from Riner Canitia. This is a reimplementation of an older game that came and went without much of a trace called Spectaculum. This is a game that has a little bit of like a stock market element thing going on, but a relatively light version of that kind of a game. And uh Bitewing, you know, they're they do great productions. They've done a lot of projects with Rhiner Keniti in the past. And I have been impressed with all of them, so I have no reason to believe that this one's going to be any different. Very much looking forward to Gold Country. All right, let's find out what everyone else is going to choose.

Okay, so my pick of the week is probably no surprise. It is the new Final Girl. At first, I was like, I don't know if I need to more Final Girl. I scrolled down like, I like that. I like that. I like that. And then I saw the Five Nights at Freddy's. So,

are you serious? More Final Girl.

More Final Girl.

You don't need more Final Girl.

I need more Final Girl. And that's my pick of the week.

I can maybe knock it off.

Yeah. Just Do you wash your face ever?

You said Okay. Anyway,

where does the glitter come from?

All right. Do either of you have a pick of the week?

I do. It's also

also Final Girl. It is also vinyl girl.

Oh, what's what's that word? Predictable.

No, no. Specifically because I really I I think that this series is very exciting to me. I love Predator. That's like my nerddom, you know, that I really grasp and gravitate towards.

So, if something is from Predator and I say it's from Star Wars, you'll actually know it's not from Star Wars.

Yes.

Dang it.

I will. Um, so I I really like that one. And then from there, like they just all look good. This is the first time since the first season that I'd be like I would just get the whole set. And I'm I'm definitely to a like cherry point or cherry.

How dare you, sir.

Yes, that's my will be. If I play this game and like it, maybe it will show up, but I just haven't played it yet.

All right. What do you got? I know what you're doing. That Botor,

you are correct. Back door is my pick of the week. This was very easy for me. I'm very excited about although I thought there was several good projects this week, but I'm just I'm pretty pumped about this. I'm hoping if this is what I want where I can just throw a game out, we have a rocking good time and then pack it up and to take down and set up real quick. You know, I got two hours and everything's done.

I am really on board now. Just let the game be good. But I'm very excited about it.

This is my father. This is my runner up. Uh but I'm going to go with Kepler.

Kepler, right?

Oh, that was another good looking one. Yeah,

Kepler. That's it. There it folds. Yeah. Ludos Kepler.

Wait, where is Kepler?

No, it's not. No,

keep looking.

I am looking.

It's not the gold country, though. That's a lovely looking up top. Kepler time. Raise to Kepler.

Looks really neat to me. I love the art style. I love the the There's just something aesthetically incredibly pleasing about this to me. You know what it looks like a little bit? The stuff Key Master puts out sometimes.

It has that aesthetic that they that they pursue.

That's a good call.

And I and it looks like a fairly straightforward deck building game, which I also think is a good thing. You you mix a good artwork, a neat theme, and some clean mechanisms, and I'm on board. This looks like a winner. I'm excited to play.

All righty, folks. Well, that is it for another Crowd Surfing. We'll be back tomorrow morning uh with the news first at 9:00 and then at 10:00, we'll be playing through the two new games from Bitewing. And then in the afternoon, we'll be talking about top 10 games with a interesting game arc.

Yeah. Well, it doesn't have to. I guess the arc does go up and down, right?

What would you do?

Yeah, it's interesting. Well, we'll talk about that tomorrow.

Until next time, I'm Tom.

I'm Z.

I'm Camila.

See y'all.
