58 okay so what do we have okay this is what we got who got first one is from david brown okay of youtube okay now david got a weird one he got something interesting now with reference to the amazing sexual chocolate t-shirt that's the one that i have on that uh makes reference to the great coming to america america wanting two one inches yes great yeah well yeah great now you remember when when uh they went into the barber shop where eddie murphy and senior hall in character went to the barber shop with the three old guys and they were arguing in the first one yes they're arguing about fighters right so he said and pertaining to that who was the best fighter joe lewis or rocky maciano well let me tell you david i ain't gonna say rocky i ain't gonna say that i'm gonna say the legend tell us the great one for our african-american community and that's joseph lewis yes that is it he was the king but did he beat rocky yes he did beat him no he beat him he won so yeah there you go and joe lewis i admire him because he did so much for the african-american community back then that he he really really really was a good person and i really do appreciate him really and he's a part of our our heritage so there's really no question he beat rocky marciano so there you go yeah but i just love john lewis yes yes so now on to the next one okay

29 keith rex of youtube he said mick with 600 to 700 games yes yes lovely and still growing yes how many of those do you manage to play in a year and how many nights a week does the family sit down to play well keith family we sit down and play at least once or twice a week right now because we do have regular jobs we do work and then you know we got grant who's in a senior senior in high school so we are busy yes but we do try to play you know one or two games plus we have previews that we got to get ready for we got to play those games do we have new games that come in and we just look at them so get the time to do it and with my changing jobs into a different job it's taking away a lot of my time yes where before i was working from home so i could get more things done while i was you know yes on the clock at work i could get my things done at home but now that i have to go into the office all the time that's taking away a lot of our time yes but i mean we try to get to the table once or twice a week but then again like you were saying most of the time that's trying to do a preview or something new and yeah we miss our old games we would love to play them more often but just don't have enough time yes no that was for the next question okay you kind of you kind of got a question okay well i don't know what the next one is but okay okay now it's from ameritrash okay from

00 instagram instagram uh they are a content creator on instagram okay and that's uh may and josh meg and josh but may kind of i think runs the the instagram okay now she said do you get new game fatigue like you are tired of learning new rules and miss your old favorites well um josh is man um this is the rules guy yes now he is getting i get tired always doing rules i get tired you know i get tired it is hard to learn something yes it is all the time yes and they gotta teach them to folks yes who don't get them all that well but that's not true but and i'm not the best teacher and i gotta admit i'm not the best teacher i i gotta admit family i am not good i'm not that good impatient teacher i try to get better but i mean the thing is with these games we love the new ones yes uh we love playing them yeah so i guess if we don't get fatigued we just get you know where we want to play we do this yeah we missed the we just had a chance to yeah but we love the new ones coming in so publishers keep them coming we love them yeah we love them and we're going to keep playing but we do miss out over i think we do yeah it's not enough hours in the day it's not enough time in the year that's it's just not it's not enough time but we we try we try we do uh well thank you for the questions thank you for the question all right so uh uh

31 janine okay we got another one yeah janine s from youtube okay she said do you have a rare game that you are just tickled to have for example i have one of the old 70s doom game and i think we discussed that you don't have nothing well no no what do you got for a lot of people if you haven't watched our young monopoly series you may not know that before we got into this hobby i had a monopoly collection what i probably did and it's big y'all big sorry 27 different varieties of monopoly yeah now the one that is unique yeah that i'm quite sure you won't see i have an inflatable yes monopoly game yes she does and it's still in the box yeah still pristine yeah touch but inside the box is an inflatable monopoly board and you can sit around before it's like a cushion a big thing you sit around and play monopoly on this inflatable board so i think that's a rare find i'm gonna hold on to that one yeah that's a rare find it's rare even though it's monopoly it's refined yeah even though it's monopoly it's monopoly i know i know we put hate on monopoly yes i know yes i know i know our eyes were open yes to the new hobby yes i was a monopoly collector yeah yeah i played when i played we did you know i wanted to collect all the various yeah but we but we found the lights we we saw the lights we started lighting that's right we saw the light we saw the light now

02 for me i have a old version of the parker brothers stop three stop thief yeah and that's before restoration games did the new one but i have the old one that i do treasure and it was really cool you know that's when it had that little a little kind of like cell phone yeah that you put the sounds and stuff in i don't know was it a cell phone or a beep it's like a calculator it's like a big old calculator yeah like one of the rocks that you know cell phones you know it's like on a bigger rock but it's like it's you know it's like a like a computer no no calculator calculator big calculator yeah but i have that one okay and it still works though it still works and we do like it i'd still have that and i do treasure treasure yes yes so that's all the questions i have all the questions that's our question all right well thank you guys for saying thank you so much for everybody that's sending questions and keep bringing them keep it keep sending them questions i mean we're going to answer them yeah we love it we're going to answer we love it even if they if they weird off the wall doing something different we want them yes we want them so next up is board game news yes let's do it

20 all right all right yeah here we go here we go here we go now pax unplugged which is a con that's coming in december in philadelphia p.a and feel it yeah now they're doing a good thing they're going to require everyone coming to the con to be fully vaccinated and they got to have proof and then also requiring masks for the kung wow love that love that that's really cool wanna keep everybody's i wanna keep everybody safe and i applaud them for it yeah i really do really do now another thing in a recent review of one of their one of our favorite games cascadia published by flat out games no pun included you know efka and ellen that we love we love them we love them across the pond yes across the pond yes they gave ofpg a wonderful shout out in their last review and we want to thank them for that and this week it's our family plays games if any part of playing board games to you is being a member of a community then there's no other channel on youtube that emphasizes being part of the community as much as our family plays games in fact it's in the title they keep repeating it it's about family but that's just one part of what makes our family plays games special the other part you kind of have to see for yourself but it is the amount of character and exuberance that you will get from mick and starlight but they just talk about cascadia and we love cascading we do we love it

50 yes but we want to say that no pun included i really do appreciate them and admire them because i used to watch them before we even did all this and you know elsa and ellen always made me laugh yes you know they're funny they're funny they always make me laugh i i love fighting they also make you think sometimes yes they do they tell us some serious time yeah because it's more than just fun and games with them yeah they do have a good time but then when it's something serious they can't do it and i appreciate them for it love you guys love you love you love you now also a big addition and a correction on me okay to our national hispanic heritage month design spotlight that i did last episode with michael petrie well i want to add his beautiful lovely bride and wife christina petry yes that she is the co-designer of on the rocks and i got to give her to it i got to give her got to give it out there that's his queen i gotta say it so that was my fault that you missed it now i missed it and i'm gonna put it out there all right yes let's go let's go yeah all right so now the next thing i wanted to say okay all right according to a report steve jackson games that do the munchkin series among other things will increase prices on several of their board games effective january 1st 2022 due to the increased overhead manufacturing and of course shipping costs the price of munchkin zombie dice

23 and other products will go up by a few dollars oh you better get yours now yeah before january yeah it's it's it's something else so steve jackson is not the you're not not the first one to do this not the first publisher because publishing giant asmodee as monday as would be one of those announced in early september that most of their line is gonna go up in pricing two yeah so and they said this is not gonna be the first because they said transportation cost over the past year and this year it's hurting it's hurting it's hurting and they got to recoup that somehow you know because i heard like you know for in california in los angeles the port of los angeles out there they had like a 40-mile weight of ships of container ships waiting 78 container ships are waiting they're coming to the port wow and they said that's going to take almost up to 10 days or so just to get them in to unload them and they have like 14 000 containers on each one of those ships oh my goodness so it's crazy it is crazy it's great so p family be patient and know that you know things are going to get worse before they get better but it's going to be a lot of time it's going to be light at the end of that tunnel though it's going to be light in the tunnel now i got breaking news breaking news breaking news breaking news i do i do breaking news our fan plays games we'll be at cardboard caucus in des moines hour live october 22nd to the 24th yes and we

56 will be doing another live event at that con it's a little small con in des moines hour and we'll be there and we're going to do a live video we're going to tell you more in our next episode and we're excited about that so that's breaking news breaking news we just got that together live so we're going to do that in des moines so if you're near des moines iowa it on october 22nd to 24th come on through check us out check this out all right so that's all i got is that it that's all i got okay was that's it for the next all right that's it for the news all right so next up the heart of the episode yes get a chance to hear what our top five favorite worker placement games are let's do it okay let's do this the heart of the episode yes now we have some more lists yes yes so let's see which list people are going to like again yes yes family which list are you going to like yes here we go you want to go first no no i'll let you go first my love okay what about my beautiful little what we're going to do is give you our five it's not in a particular order i always do alphabetical orders but these are the the one the five that came to the top like let's say the cream rises to the top this is the cream that has risen to the top for me oh this is right now for me the criteria is you know i got so many working placements i like these are just five that i want to highlight that i really really like okay well same thing same thing yes all right so yes the first one

28 is dice hospital okay so dice worker placement well it's working nice placement it's not it's working placement okay okay you guys are your workers that's right that's right and this is published by alicat games yes one to four players in addition to worker placement you've got drafting yes dice rolling yes uh action points and stuff so and this game came out in 2018 we didn't get it till last year yeah and where we live i love it we love it we love it i love dice hospital i love my little dice workers and then my little dice patience some of them getting dialed and some died but some get discharged from the house well you've been winning so yeah so yeah so you get a lot of workers that work yeah some of your dice are administrators this is all kinds of things that's not administrative are you the patients or they go and do stuff to help the patients get better and dice hospital as well you know the dice are the patients and then you have the workers that are the nurses workers that you know but the dice go to different locations to get you the things you need that's true yeah that's true yeah so dice hospital is the first one on my list yeah that's that's a good one though that's a good what's first on your list that's a good one first on my list is everedale everyday i love everyday and that's why it's startling games okay and basically you have to use workers you know the workers to do different actions you know little animals actions yeah you know and you're building a tableau of your city and do a little dice yeah i mean a little a card drafted and stuff like that so i love

59 everyday it's beautiful mm-hmm it's cute it's on your cute meter yes it is and i do enjoy everyday and i you know we've we've played one of the um expansions and we have the other expansions that we need to add on then i have the kickstarter that i got that are weight known so we love everedale yes we love it we do love it but it didn't make my list it didn't make your lips really really i love everything i love it i love it but i have others yeah okay all right so what's your number two all right my second on my list not number two my second one on the left okay second second on your list is harvest oh harvest by tmg tasty menstrual games two to four players gone for a little while yes yeah card drafting variable player powers yes came out in 2017 i love harvest it's a small box it's really unique the artwork on the car it's a real comical and funny isn't that very cartoony yeah it's in the heart what is that the uh the harbor world yes love it yeah the only thing i hate about it i don't have enough workers i need to do more stuff and then we don't have time to have enough but now it's a great game yeah it is it is a great game it is and one of uh one of our hometown public i mean uh designers trey chambers love you trey he created the game yes he did designed it but i love harvest and it's a great little small box and we don't have enough time and don't have enough workers need more workers but now what's so cool about you know it's the variable player powers that you get you know you get different player and you know different you know characters that you

29 play that have different powers and sometimes they do give you more work sometimes they do yeah which one you get and i do enjoy it though i love you that's a good that's a good one thank you now my second one on the list okay is nevada city by rio grande game nevada city nevada city now it came it came out a while ago and it didn't get much love it didn't get much love but it's good it's a good game that you're basically using your work your family you have a family who are your workers and your placing your family to help you you know build up a town you build up your town building up the town of nevada yeah different things you need yeah and i really and then you're doing you know you're mining and doing cattles and you know you're doing you know trying to collect your resources and do a car draft it's a great game it's a good game and i i just hate that it just kind of faded away you know rio grande didn't give it an expansion nothing but i think it needed expansion too so but it's it's a fun game it is it's a fun game so i do enjoy that one a lot so and i want we need to play it again i think so that's one of those that's one of those that we need time to play against but it's fun it's fun so that nevada city nevada city yes yes all right the third one on my list is lords of water deep that's the classic and that's wizards of the coast that's the classic uh this one came out in 2012 so we've had it in our collection for a while yes we wore it out in the beginning we wore it out and it could go up to five players it's two to five and it has hidden roles yeah there's some take that

00 a lot of takes so it's a really fun game you have to depend on those workers yeah to get you the resources you need so that you can fulfill your missions your your or your friends build those points and get your points yeah yeah lots of water deals i'll take that yeah yes a lot of it yeah i take that and we be coming at each other blood in the water people yeah that's the blood in the water game right there we do not give no quarter don't let no quarters nobody don't let nobody win on this and then and then i'll i'll be threatening and you said come on yeah come on you would just tell me come on i'm like oh lord i might not do it i might not do it yeah yeah you better think twice before you try to take that on yeah because you don't know what i have no i don't no i don't i will retaliate no no no you do retaliate all the time you do retaliation of water deep lots of fun that's a good one that's a good one all right my number three is a new one okay but i like it and that's lost ruins of arnock lost ruins yeah okay now that's another one that don't have enough workers it does not and you don't have enough time not enough time no nothing i agree and i love it it's a great game i'm looking forward to the expansion that's coming out later on i think this uh in october i think it's coming out i think but i'm i'm excited for it but lost ruins of arnold is a fun game it is a function it's really a fun game so i enjoy it i enjoy it because you're doing car drafting you know you

31 know collect you know you're buying cards to help you out more it's and you know it's fun yeah it's a fun game so i do i enjoy it i enjoy it and that's lost ruins of arnott it's kind of new yeah and it's by uh it's by a c cge and i enjoy it yes i enjoy it so what you got what you got number four on my list okay it's lost rules of our night really oh we got a crossover this is your third one it's my fourth yeah i'm in alphabetical order yeah the boss runes of all knocks it was it came out in 2020 yeah yeah everything you just said really it's a good game it's a good game it's a good game that's one of our first crossovers it's a crossover yeah okay and the list that we've done recently that's the first one yeah yeah we all right my fourth one on the list it's going to surprise you a little bit and that's key flower oh key flower flower yes and that's where you're using basically your workers are basically what you're bidding on because you're doing bins and where you place them to kind of activate different tiles in your in the city you know that's and you know you can bid on you're using them to bid on that's kind of like your money yeah kind of like your money's are good for you is a great one it's a solid game and we got it it's been out for a while by r d games and i found it in in um was that half price books yes and it was used but it was all complete and that was back when in 2020 that was in 2012

02 you know right no that was it was 20 20. it was 2020 at the beginning of 2020 yes at the beginning of 2020 and i got it and it was all complete you know used but i've enjoyed it yes we've we've enjoyed it big time yeah now we played it wrong that first time yes we did we played it wrong sometimes that happens yeah sometimes when you go back and look at it yes get you know get a little help yeah we got some help and we played it again right and then we loved it and now it's a treasure in our collection yeah so key flowers by r d games all right the last one on my list what do you got what do you got is stone age that's a classic classic stone age that's a classic classic yeah nothing beats the classics yeah yeah in the stinky cup yes interesting z-man games yes it came out in 2008 it's two to four players yes it's a great game we've had it in our collection for a long time we love it wow the stone age you've got some dice rolling yeah you've got in-game bonuses you got set collectors yes but you have worker placement the whole game is working places are all working places your workers are not placed you're not playing and then you got that you know you got to get that dice you got to do the thing you got that dice and hope you roll right that's right hope you roll so you can get some resources the stone age is a beautiful it's a beautiful game to me yes you put it out it's got this whole prehistoric look to it yes and you're getting you know wood and you're getting um a gold and other things brick yeah i love the game i love building up my little uh clan of workers yeah that i'm gonna put out there yeah and it's a good game it's a great game

32 i mean that's the that's the classic there and you know it was so funny like we got that in our first year of playing yes we did and it was so crazy it it made our head hurt the first time we saw it i was like oh my lord what are we going to do with this thing it's too complicated but we were determined to learn it yeah and so after we played it the first time uh kim tractor she's just uh can we do we knew back in houston tried to do yesterday yes and we did play through it but i was like i didn't understand the thing that went on yeah but you wouldn't got it oh when he got it we took our time yes we learned it yes now it's a favorite now it's a favorite no it's it's it's treasured and that's one of the treasures in there yeah you can't let go it ain't never going out of this collection never never so what's your last one my last one gonna surprise you again okay i got some surprises okay what is it yokohama yoga yokohama i wasn't expecting yes yokohama from tmg tmg but anyway tmz good game it's a good game it's a big game it's a big game and i hope somebody picks it up you know i hope somebody picks it up and and kind of redo it because i know they i think they they did like a a dual version yeah you know two-player game but i would like to see you know yokohama you know live on it's a good game yeah it's not a it's not an easy game it's not easy game yeah and he's got to be a avid player and really understand what's going on in gaming to really tackle it because it has a huge table presence huge footprint huge but it's over the fun it is fun i mean you got to have a big table just to play the game and you do

03 you do but but it's a real it's real cool and maybe if they do like a reprint or something they can kind of maybe you know you can condense that because maybe it can you need all those different uh places for your workers to go i know people don't know i don't know if they can't condense it it's a big but it's fun it is fun and it gives it and i think they have to have those different tiles that you put your you know workers on and stuff you move you know people around because you want replayability you know it does give you replay built-in i don't know if you can make it any smaller yeah to still see all the details yeah they did too yeah because it was a real nice guy that's okay it's a good game and it's it's it's not well loved no it's not you know and it deserves love it deserves a lot of love it is a really really good game yeah it gets overlooked big time it's underrated yes it is yes yes so that's my last one yokohama so those are our games yes grant will have a list up at the end yes let us know which list you like better which list we only have one crossover just one but we have great lists yes we do we really love all the games but this is my top that's mixed top yeah let's see what your top is which list do you what do you like what do you like let us know now starla what about our merch out there yes whoa you have not seen our new shirts by katya yes how how watson from board games art creation if you haven't seen our new year you need to go take a look at our spring sauce run family run shirts are gorgeous i know a couple of you did pick up some shirts last week yeah so glad you did you're gonna love what the work she did on it her designs
