Transcript 16:30

Gen Con Saturday day three right on the show floor. Two goals today. One,

go check out Deal with the Devil.

Deal with Devil. We passed by.

Hell of a deal.

Sorry. Hell of a deal. Deal with the devil.

Right.

Yeah. Hell of a deal. Hell of a deal.

Hell of a deal. We passed by so many times and it's always been so busy. I am very interested in a copy and trying to get one.

We need to buy as many games as we can. See, us with luggage space have the uh the flexibility to speak of which how are you doing on that t?

Well, it's not looking that good right now, you know, but it it's working out. How's yours?

You know what? We don't have a uh what do you call it? A luggage scale. So, I'm a little worried about the uh the weight limit before we go into the what's it called? Over the overweight bag.

Over bag. I got a couple big boxes out.

Either way, it always works out, right? And I got luggage space.

Cover it. If anything,

if anything, I don't need my clothes. I can just buy new clothes at home.

There you go. Leave it here.

Exactly.

And then goal number two is to get some upgrades or dome. I want to show you all the upgrade booth over at

the other end of the hall. There they are.

Hell of a deal. since we got it relative.

There's a extensive line here,

but it seems like there are copies available.

That's okay. Real quick before we clock up the whole way, copy secured for me. This is one of the coolest booths I've seen. It's called Hellbreak and they have like a full-on red bloody cabin set over here. Looks so cool. Hey, how's it going?

Good. How does you

And because monsters are always considered at both locations, it's also the case that when I'm attacking with Jaws, let's say I was on my side, I first choose the location I'm attacking and then a target at that location. So in this case, if I really want to deal damage to Dracula, I can attack with Jaws targeting the beach because I know my opponent doesn't have an independent minions. The first wooden dice that I've seen in the concept.

These dice are called icebreaker. This is pigment forms art and other

nonsense. It's actually funny. So this is 3,000 at the very very end. They It's new. I don't think I remember having them tables for people to chill here, which is really nice. There's chairs and stuff for people to sit down and everything. And then here is Resurrection Games. They actually have like a a DC bag builder, very similar to Dice Throw, except of course no dice. They're using chips to draw from bag. This is like similar to dice but with DC heroes. Oh my god, it really is similar. How funny. Happy punch and all stuff, but there's no dice.

Oh, bag building. Very cool. I'm seeing a um a luxury booth of dice. You see behind us? See behind us? They have like a luxury booth of dice. Come here. Look. You have to see this. But for dice, look at this. It's called Dispel. And they have these really nice display cases of all sets of dice. Man,

usually I think like you go to jewelry stores or like like I don't know just place where you try on clothes. Oh, if anything you want to try on let us know. Try different shoe sizes, trying different rings. But here it's so funny because they're like is there anything you want to try rolling? Let us know. Here at the Stone Meer booth. Time to acquire mission number two.

Some game trays for six pack or 15 bucks. And there are a ton of upgrades from mele source. Even little nest the wingspan. I'm like, I'm gonna wait till she stops spinning.

And guess who it is? It's Iris.

I'm like, I'm gonna be patient and wait.

I was gonna like, oh, should I turn for him or is he still looking? And that's why it was you.

I'm so dead.

Here. Here's the issue I have. Um, I want to upgrade everything, as you know, because I I have a terrible problem making everything deluxified. So, I'm going to live myself. Am I living? I mean, I'm going to get some action tokens for scythe. That's That's a number one. That's number two because I really want this is the reason why I came here. I'm going to get the metal next. I'm going to get these action tokens for Scythe. I I I don't I'm pretty sure you could just use these interchangeably. I I really want the upgrades for the map tokens for site 2. And I think you can just use it interchangeably for expedition ball. I'll ask just make sure.

Sounds good though.

Oh my god, the witch king.

The Spiegel Golem. There's a little bit of help from Spiegel. is guiding you through. So now you're only at minus two, but your will is still popping down. I didn't talk about this board. I skipped over it. This board, if this side or this side eliminates all the units on the opposition, any remaining units from this board are going to come over join this fight. Right? Then the final thing in the end of round is you're going to check your north and south roads. And these characters, any characters that are on these roads can come to join this fight. And so they have to enter down here in the lower area. If there's no spaces down there, they just push other space other units up. So they're coming in to support and they're going to push them up.

Cruising by Lord of the Rings game because we will be doing a gameplay of it. So I'm trying to get my head wrapped around the game. That way it helps alleviate some of the rule book reading here and there. I'm so excited about that game, y'all. The game play is going to be so much fun. I'm I can't wait to show you. Now, Ron Rose 1000 on the other side is actually artist alley. It's where a bunch of artists put together a booth and they show all their artwork and different forms of you can get from it like prints and magnets, posters, pins. So, this is a really fun booth I walk like to go through.

That's so cool.

I visit this artist every year. This is so nice.

Either one.

Also can't

land up in the bipod lounge. This is Card Holla. And every single year, people bring TCGs to build them up and then tear them all down tomorrow. This is nuts.

Is that what you're looking for?

Just Just a little, you know. Okay.

About to play a cart with Zazu and Justin. Y'all ready?

Oh, we're ready.

Scouted ahead. So, uh, they might ruin a few birthday parties. Get

How does it feel to use spikes on all of us on their first turn, Ryan?

I'll tell you what, Tim. I'm coming to spike you. I'm coming to spike your family. I'm going to spike your whole house.

You already did. Look at this. Look at that. Then we're at the Lucas Oil Stadium. Usually like the most epic events happen here. And you know what? For us, this is epic. Check this out. All board gamers gathered up in a giant stadium. That is so sick. So people

Yeah. Or sometimes they demo new stuff over here. I think publishers can also book their own booths over here, too. It's like a full-on land party out here. Yes. Yes. Who's walking here? Not a single game today. That was the biggest lie ever. I actually have all these games right here. Let's dissect. If you were watching the initial vlogs and you heard me talk about having 10 equipment slots. We're just going to scratch that. I know that wasn't even close to being fulfilled. So, we're just going to pretend that didn't happen. But I did see someone say it was supposed to be 10 equipment slots per day, which is what I like to say the right kind of thinking. First up, not alone. This one was really funny because it's a one versus many one person is this creature because you crash landed onto a planet. A lot of resources, a lot of good food and stuff, but the longer you're there, the more your party is withering away and you realize that you are not alone. So, one person is a creature and then everyone else is a group trying to survive. On your turn, you're going to different locations, which you can kind of see back here. And with these locations, you pick a spot to go. Like, I want to go to the beach. And then on the creature's turn, they pick where to go. And when the creature when everyone reveals their cards at the same time, you see whether or not you were at a spot where the creature was. Now, that sounds very light. It is, but there's more depth to it because each card gives you a unique ability depending on where you were.

Like if you're at the beach, you could draw one more card for survivability or something. And ultimately, your goal is to leave the planet. There's a a timer in the game, and other cards allow you to speed it up. Other cards allow you to help you uh survive even better as you are trying to run away from the creature or hide better away from the creature, too. Also from Luma Imports, this is called Postcards. I honestly really wanted because I just saw the cover art and I'm like, "Wow, this is this is beautiful." And I just love the premise because you are traveling around in France and you're sending postcards back home. Soon as I heard that, I'm like, I'm sold. This looks awesome. N Imports, thank you for sending this over. One game that I did buy and I know you see two copies here. One is Bonses. This one I did buy and it's called Hell of a Deal. I have been looking for this game.

It's been sold out every single morning we've been there and we always pass by the table because they're wearing like the classic poker teller, you know, green clear transparent hat with like the vest and everything and just love their setup. It's so cool. This one is a cooperative poker game where you are playing against the devil along with like different bosses and everything and it is a co-op, but still I think it'd be really fun. Plus, the production on this is next level. And it has been sold out every single day. I'm glad I got to find a secure copy of that after staring it every single day that I've been here. Earlier you did see that I got some metal mech upgrades. I wanted to upgrade duel of melik. So here is the metal ship for expeditions player along with the metal mechs for the scythe player. Now this one has been a long time coming. Honestly, ever since I've I've gone to Gen Con and I've seen these upgrades, I've been wanting them. So it only took me like a couple GenCons to finally get this. But these are the upgrades for Scythe. Like the Scythe markers, they're just really chunky, thick bits. That is much nicer than the actual Scythe marker. So, it's so satisfying. These are so nice.

So, I've been wanting to upgrade Scythe for quite some time. I mean, my my scythe copy has been pretty much fully upgraded except for these player markers. And I also got the last the last and final upgrade were the expedition map tokens. So I've been wanting these to use four dual melik and also expeditions and also four sides. So I'm glad that they're interchangeable between all of them. It does come with 24 pieces from mele source. So I bought these two to upgrade the final cardboard piece that I need for site. So in terms of upgrading, we're done there. Two more games. This one was given to me by Dier. So, thank you to Devir for sending this over. Huge thank you to Vlad for sending this one. I'm so excited about this game. It is a solo game called Seven Seal. You might have heard about it. There's been a lot of talk about this one. This is a solo boss battler and you are fighting against different monsters and creatures. And reason why it's called Seven Seals is because you are breaking one seal to fight one boss and you're going across like seven different fights. And it's a solo game. So, I've been looking for a lot of different solo games. I think I got more way more than I was expecting. So, I'm excited to be doing another five portable solo games like part two. The last game I got to see is from Habu Games actually and this is called Stug Landit. So, this little cabin right here is really cool and the reason why is because it can be portable and in this game you have sort of map taken out and what you are rolling are

cabins. You roll several cabins on your turn and depending on how the cabins turn out, like if they're flipped on their side or if they're flipped on the roof, then you have a different effect that happens. And your goal is to fill out as many cabins as you can across all these tiles. But even though it's really simple, the complexity and like the the strategy that comes in is how you are placing your cabins across like the lakes, which gives you bonus points and across like different items and environmental things here, which gives you bonus points. But also there are areas like the garbage areas which will take away points from you and other ways that you have the cabin rotated can also can have you move other players cabins around. And the nice part is that yes this is not very travel friendly because it has a pointed roof and everything but they have a little bag in here and the rule book itself is actually a map too.

So there are two ways to bring this game around. You can have this as is on game night but if you want to bring it with travel comes in a little pack and you can just play it whenever. So that's really nice convenient struggle. Thank you to Hava Games for sending me this one to go home. All right, with that said, I actually still have a ton of room in my luggage. I'm not too worried that's going to hit 50 lbs because everything that I've gotten so far has been pretty light. I think a hell of a deal is probably the heaviest one, which honestly not too bad. I've gotten home with worst. If you've seen my SM vlogs, you know that I have been through a lot worse in terms of packing. I

hope you all had fun watching the last and final Gen Con vlog. I'm not going to vlog tomorrow because tomorrow's mostly just saying goodbye to everybody and then everyone's heading out too and just chilling on the show floor and fully relaxing. So, I'm going to turn my brain off a little bit for tomorrow. But, thank you all so much for watching. I hope you all had a fun time. Honestly, Gen Con this year was next level. The booths were insane. I feel like everyone leveled up their production for the booth overall. The games were very exciting, especially from coming from someone who had absolutely nothing in mind for what to get here. I love the fact that I get to go and explore and still find some really cool potentially really awesome games. And then of course saying hi to many of you, saying hi to many fellow content creators. It's so fun, you know, connecting what we see online to, you know, everyone that we see in person. So that's the best thing and why I go to Gen Con. Other than that, thank you all so much for watching. If you made it to the very end, go in and comment solo for all the cool solo games that we're bringing home. See you all later. I'm quite a bed.
