Clearing out stuff to make room and more!

0:00 Oh god, I could barely wake up today. Come on, Gab. We're going for a bit of a walk here. I figure I get this done early cuz I've got so much I've got to do. The first thing I'm doing is is clearing out a lot of room. Um because I'm going to be finishing some projects that I've been wanting to do. And I'm going to I don't want to call it a huge auction or anything like that, but I'm getting rid of a lot of stuff because like I said, um we we we finally got the date that Cox is going to be putting in uh the cable. Um they are going to have it in by April 1st, which is a really big deal for us. Um and I want to start getting everything ready for live plays.

0:51 Let me see. Do we even have anybody watching? It's kind of hard when you when you do this on the run here. So, we we'll give it a shot. What What can I tell you? Oh, there we go. Just trying to make sure that that I'm actually live. Um, as I'm walking the girls, there's our two. We have these crows. My My daughter named them. Hold on. I'm going to I'm going to try to switch this around here. Yeah. Okay, there they are. See those those three crows? Those are my daughter's crows and and she feeds them every morning.

1:37 Uh she actually had to go to work this morning cuz she works in a hospital. Um she's got three days that she she's working in a row. She usually doesn't work Sundays or weekends, but cuz Wednesday we're going to go see the Toronto Maple Leafs play those those low lives of the Tampa Bay. Um, [screaming] hey fellas. She's not here right now. So, she's got four stray cats. She's got two that live in the house. She has a possum, a raccoon. Um, and of course we have coyotes that run around here. Um, but you know, she she's like Dr. Dittle.

2:27 She feeds everybody. Oh god, I got something in my eye today. I just woke up a little while ago. I just I have not been able to get up lately. Just struggling. it. Yesterday it was 86 and today it rained last night it looks like and uh it's pretty much going to be kind of cool today which isn't too bad. But I've got a lot of work out to to do in the studio and I was going to walk the dogs and then try to progressively do that and then do everything else I got to do on Sundays. But, uh, I figured I'd just kill two birds with stone with with one stone. So, Tuesday you're going to see a video on a bunch of stuff that I'm getting rid of. Okay. And just bid whatever. I just want to get it out. Um, I'm building I I want to finish building my Mortim um my Mortheim stuff and be able to store it. Uh, I've been holding back on it for a while.

3:39 Uh, now that we're gonna we're actually going to be able to do live stuff. I plan on doing that. Um, I got a real good game in that you're gonna see some videos on this week. Um, I did some videos on Friday to try to free up today so I can I can get all this work done. Uh, clean cleaning up that area, cleaning off the table. Uh, I've got two more things I got to film. I've got a uh I'm going to do like a little box opening for a game that my good friend Richard Blonius sent me. Um him and Pete Shy Shy who I've been friends with forever. They did a game called LA1 and they said, "Hey, just be honest. You know, if you like it or not. I've been checking it out and you know, I haven't been gaming a whole lot. I'll be honest with you. Um, hey bro. Hey Herman, how you doing? Uh, hope everything's well, my brother.

4:43 And and I started messing with this and I said, you know, they've always been really good to me. Let me take a look at it. And they said, if you don't like it, don't make the video. Oh my god, this has Bladeunner feel with an Arkham Horror twist. if that makes any sense. It feels like the old second edition uh Arkham Hore. It's really kind of neat how how it works. Um and Richard's always been very very very smart. So, I'm going to do a little unboxing video, kind of show you what's going on a little bit, but I'm not going to review it until I play it at least three or four times. And it's a game that's going to take you about an hour, hour and a half. But it's LA1.

5:34 LA-1 and it's it's really impressive. It's beautiful. Uh it's not overkill. Um it's, you know, you get the box game, there is a small expansion, you have upgrade components, but it's not like these these games where there's 27 freaking stupid expansions that go with it. He did it all in one shot. you know, everything that he wanted to do, and it's nice, neat, and it'll go on your shelf. I think you'll really, really, really like it. Richard showed me the prototype of that game a couple years ago at Buckeye Gamefest Convention. It looks really cool. Well, it's finally here, and I'll I'll tell you right now, Herman, it's it's Buttsy. That's for dog on sure. I I I really am pretty jacked up about it.

6:27 Speaking of which, um I want to be able to do more things. I want to be able to um really, you know, it's funny you're here because I was looking at um oh, what was the game that you did with the Rangers there? Um oh, it's up on my shelf and I was looking at it. And I go, man, you know, I really want to play that, you know, but it takes takes up a bit of space and everything like that. Oh god, I'm going to drive myself nuts now. Um, it's one of one of the games I really really enjoy. Um, oh, they're climbing up the mountain.

7:16 They got to get that pass and then they've got to clear that whole area. Oh, I just can't think of the name of it offhand. Well, I've been want I'm sure Crowbar. Thank you. Yeah. So, I'm looking at it on the shelf and I go, you know, I want to play Crowbar. And you know, there's because I I started to feel like I didn't want to do anything with everything with all the drama and crap that goes on. And I want to clear something up real quick. Um, you know, I made a couple videos trying to help my friend Rodney and I took him down. And I'll tell you why. I think they did more harm than good, you know, by sticking my neck in out for that stuff. And you know, when people started getting all belligerent, especially that Roto, um, I just said, you know what? I'm going to pull myself out of this. Let Rodney handle this. Rodney didn't tell me to pull the video down or anything stupid like that. Or I didn't pull it down because I was worried about any kind of retribution. I didn't want to add to what is already a bad situation when I just basically said, "Hey, you know, this is a good guy. He doesn't do things wrong."

8:34 And you know, the little drama fiends that that love to do this that that get involved in this business, um, you know, they just look for more problems. So, I just pulled myself out of it. I'm I'm you know people have been writing going hey how come you pulled those videos down plain and simple. I don't want to hurt my friend any more than the hurt that he's going through with everything with the the business and stuff. So I just got out of the way and let everybody else figure it out. Another thing I'll say come on girls. Hey this way. Sorry guys. Come on. Get going. Hey, Bella.

It it it's it started a whole different issue, you know, on what I thought of those the crew there, you know, when they when I didn't say their names properly. Uh so they got all indignant about it and and that just causes another issue and I just I just stepped out of the way because I really don't give a about any of that stuff, you know. And go ahead. Uh I'll say another thing. Uh I talked with Sam this week. We had a nice good talk. Um, it was good to talk to him. We promised each other we we communicate a little bit better with each other and stuff like that. So, I felt good about that.

10:26 Um, you know, we hadn't talked in a few years. And, uh, you know, he's he's he's got a wonderful new wife and he's he's happy. I I think that's all you can ever ask for him. That's all you can ever ask. Let's see. Um, what else do I got going on here? Oh, yeah. Like I said, I'm going to be putting up a bunch of junk uh that I'm going to get out of the way because I'm condensing and getting ready. Well, I I I I've been doing better because for a while there, like I said, I didn't feel like playing anything anymore. Uh I I I just think the board game business has become really silly. But a couple things have have really um opened my eyes again. I started looking through my old school tactical stuff. Um I I was going through uh Space Infantry from uh Lock and Load. I don't know why I love that game so much. Um Crowbar. I was looking up at Mheim. Um I have this huge Frost Grave thing I've been I I want campaign I wanted to do. I built this massive, massive table. Um, I've got all the Warhammer Quest stuff I want to do and I'm thinking, do I really need all this extra stuff? you know, you know, once I review it, if I don't think it's going to stay, you know, and not that it's a bad game or anything like that, it just becomes a point where

11:58 where, you know, at my age, okay, at this ancient ancient age, okay, how many games can you keep? Are you ever going to, you know, when I kick the bucket when I go to Vajala, you know, am I ever going, you know, am I going to, you know, hands it down to my grandkids and they're going to go, "Okay, what's all this shit?" Okay, I know my Godzilla stuff at least, you know, if I give it to my daughter, you know, she's going to she's going to, you know, keep it forever. You know, I I I know what my and all my movie my my weird movie collection, okay? because I believe that they're trying to erase a lot of the physical media um and some stuff that really is kind of historic, you know, or a lot of movies that that you know, it's like the old Doctor Who stuff, you know, some of that old stuff was some of the best stuff ever. And if they get rid of it, you know, like they burned the tapes of half the stuff, you know, so it's gone forever. And I think they're going to do the same thing with a lot of these old movies. They may not have been, you know, big hits like The Godfather, stuff like that, but, you know, for me, some of these movies, you know, are are absolute classics.

13:23 Like I have this Japanese movie of Star Man. Uh, I just remember it as a kid watching it on Creature Double Feature, you know, and you know, c can you find that? Can you really find that on DVD? No. I I've got it, you know. Are you going to pay an arm and leg for it? I think someday, you know, it's just not going to be here anymore. And I'm trying to build this collection that means something to me that I can hand down to my daughter. I have a brand new Blu-ray DVD player. I have two of them I bought and I just put them away. Put them away because, you know, I just I just got a feeling that, you know, everything's, you know, they want to go digital with everything. I mean, what's the point of that? You and I are the at the same place with our game collection. If I don't play it a lot, it gets sold or given away. Nothing sits idle anymore.

14:17 Yeah. You know, I I I I I'm trying to find stuff that I can make consistent fun videos for. Uh I've been enjoying a lot of small card games. There's a a game tomorrow that is a dungeon crawl and it is actually brilliant. Um it's from a company in Spain. It's called Val Petra. Okay. And you you're going to see the video on it tomorrow. And I wrote the company and they were very nice. They sent me a copy of it. And you know, I was cuz I was fascinated by it. Well, you take this group of heroes. Come on, G. I mean, look at this fool dog. Hold on. You can't lay in the dirt. Hey, come on, Gabby. Come on. You're supposed to be exercising, playing around.

And I love that kind of stuff when you get a ton in a little bitty box. Oh, now you now you're going to come with a stick in your mouth full. And you've got to go down and get this this rune. Okay. And they got two runes. The one one is for easier game and one for a harder game. So you get all the way down and you fight all these creatures and you get down and you get the rune, right? You think that's it, right? You did it. You made it. You the man. You won the game. On to the next game. No. You've got to flip over the cards. Okay. And it's harder because now you've got to fight your way out. And I love it.

Um I you know I I've been I've been just doing Are you looking forward to Battle Monsters? Um Battle Monsters? I don't know enough about it. Um, but if it's what I think it is, I'll probably get it. You know, I try to get everything and try to show you guys stuff and I try to be honest. Excuse me for a minute. I got to spit. [snorts] I just woke up. Um, you know, I try to get stuff and show you and I try not to be a gosh darn infomercial, okay? I try not I try to separate myself from the rest of the board game industry. Does it blackball me? Does it make me, you know, irrelevant? Yeah. Do I care? No. Okay.

17:20 And my whole thing is, okay, it's a Godzilla with big minis. Yeah. If I can get my hands on it, I'll get my hands on it. Um, and and and I I I honestly honestly in my heart of hearts, you know, with all the controversy and bull crap going on, I I you know, I don't care. All I care about is doing my best to try to get, you know, have some fun. All right? try to figure out what I want to, you know, hopefully my grandson or granddaughter wants to do this. He seems to have an interest, especially in Battletech. We've been working on that. That's another thing that I'm working on that I need room for. Um and and and what I'm trying to do is bring you honest. Hey, this is what I like. You may not like it, but here's why I like this. Okay? and tell you honestly. And if I don't like something, I'm going to tell you why I don't like it. All right? If it blackballs me, whatever. Okay? If I didn't like a Herman game, I'd say, "Herman, I don't like this game. I don't want to really make the video of it because you're a friend of mine." But I've got to be honest with you. Of course, that will never happen because if that happens, I have a feeling that a fisher in the earth would open up and we would all fall in it and die because

18:51 Herman just makes great games. But that's another game I've been itching to play. Dawn of the Zeds. I dug that out and and started cleaning that off. you know, a lot of Thank God some of the stuff, most of the stuff that I kept here instead of the storage unit where we had that fire and we lost we lost about 40 50k worth of games. Um, which I had to clean that thing out anyways, but that's not the way you want to lose it. And we got no return on it. Um, is unfortunate. But I can promise you this. Are you guys just going to sit down for a little bit? Okay, good. Because I'm going to stream for a few minutes here.

19:38 So, I'm I'm I'm going to be really really honest and I'm gonna I'm going to tell you how things are going to go. I'm really enjoying some card games. I've got uh Tanks versus World of Tanks, which I'm enjoying a lot. I I heard the new Warlords coming out that's supposed to be really good. Um there's some board games hopefully that are coming. I got Apex Legends, but I've got to get the Solo expansion and I can't seem to find it anywhere. So, I'm going to try to get that in. Um, and I've got stuff coming in. Um, Cloudspire, some stuff's supposed to be coming from Chip Theory Games, and I'm trying not to also spend a lot of money either, you know. Um, I poured a lot of money into this channel with, you know, no return, which is okay. It's not about making money. It's just making sure that that you know you keep your doors open and and and and you're having fun and you're doing the things that you want to do. I'll get you a copy of the new Dawn of the Zed's designer edition when it's ready. I think you'll like it. You're beautiful person. Uh morning shower person. Yeah, I am. Oh, it says try add a Q&A sticker.

20:55 Oh, okay. I didn't know what the heck that was. Um but um like I said, I have, you know, when I talked about this in the beginning year and we had those few auctions that we bought all the new we bought a bunch of equipment and I'm waiting for a couple more pieces to come in and then they're going to be running. They're going to be running cable. Now, this is the big problem is I'm going to show you. See way way way way down there. That's where the cable's got to come from. And it's got to come all the way up to the guard dog, right? And it has to keep on going, keep on going, keep on going, keep on going, keep on going all the way to that pole. So, that has always been a big problem as far as getting cable here. and we were willing to pay for it, but they came by and they said, "Listen, if we can use some of your land to run some of the cable, we'll we'll make sure that doesn't cost you anything to get finally fiber internet in here." So, that is going to be be in by April 1st. But the thing is, I promised and I said starting in February, I was going to start getting things together and that's what I'm doing. And I I March you're going to start seeing a change and I think it's a good change where the videos are, you know, a little bit more detailed. Um some play a lot of playthroughs you're going to be seeing of certain things and

22:26 everything. I I just need to get rid of some more stuff that isn't going to sit there, you know, that I'm not going to play. And unfortunately, it's a lot of stuff that I'm argued with. I think my Chronicles of Drugore, there's like 50 million boxes of it. I think I'm gonna get rid of all that. I'm gonna get rid of core space because I do have uh Star Grave that I I've created or I may do the opposite and keep that and get rid of Star Grave. Um I'm going to keep Frost Grave. Uh, I'm going to [sighs] uh I've got some really big big box games that I'm going to get rid of. I got Kenfire Chronicles. Ageimmonia I'm going to get rid of. Uh I plan on doing a a nice run with a really good card game to kind of start things off. Uh it's one of my favorite games that I really enjoy playing. um a Aventura uh which is a great dungeon crawl game.

23:32 Um and there's a lot of stuff that's coming out that I'm really looking forward to doing. I want to run with the battle tech stuff. Um I'm just clearing out a lot of stuff that to make room for things that I want to showcase. I want to show off. I want to um I really want to make shine. And you know, as new stuff comes in this year, I I'm I I I've decided that you know, with the way the board game culture is, uh meaning these influencers and all the destruction that they've caused and they're buying views and stuff like that and all the other fun stuff. Now, I am not doing conventions. If I'm going to do a convention, I'm gonna do something small around this area. Um, and I just don't want to be a part of that crowd.

24:29 It's a shame because I would like to see some of you guys. Uh, I'd like to see Herman again. I'd like to see Richard. Uh, I may go at some point and go to the Tantrum convention. Um, they've already had it. I may go next year. My wife just sent me something. Um, I may do that. And the reason for that is is that I can go up and be with Richard. I know Herman isn't too far from there. He may come down there. Um, you know, and I just want to see some of the people that I want to see. Um, and you know, I just my plan is to keep going as long as I can physically and mentally and just enjoy myself.

25:19 Try to get my grandkids involved if they want to. If they don't, that's fine, too. I mean, honestly, they're grandkids, you know? They're going to they're going to decide what they want to do. Uh, thanks. this summer for sure. Okay, cool. Oh, yeah, definitely. And uh but the big conventions, I'm over it. I'm over, you know, all the drama and all the crap and, you know, and things like that. I just I want to do simple things. I want to share things with my my community and have fun. It doesn't matter how big it is or how small it is. Just have fun, okay? get back to the way it used to be in 2013, 14, and 15, you know, where we just we had fun. There were so many things coming out. There was always something new. It was always fascinating because somebody because people were using their minds and making new things and, you know, not making a game and then making a political statement, not making a game and trying to uh, you know, get cash on the side. I mean, I'm sure it was happening because Tom does that kind of stuff all the time, but you know, just clean, smart, concise, and just keep it simple.

We may even do something, Herman, where where I'm going to talk to Richard because uh I may take a few days and just drive up there and see him uh and Pete and what they do is they game like five days straight or a whole weekend or something and and we could just stay at his house. He's always offering. I think that would be be a blast because he's got like my man doing doing all right. He's a good guy. Love the guy. But, you know, I've been promising them for years, but my health has not been the best. You know, with my immune I mean I mean I'm doing I feel physically great. The problem is is that my immune system if I get sick, you know, I go into that tail spin and uh my immune system was never the same since um since those days, that's for sure.

Uh, so I'm going to have a video up and on Tuesday with uh all the stuff that I'm going to be getting rid of, you know, trying to make room with comic books and video games and stuff like that. And today I also have to get everything done early cuz my grandson, I promised him I would play Plants Versus Zombies because he's on this Plants Versus Zombies kick. All right. He's five years old. And I got the second Garden Warfare because I think you can do it without going online. So, we're going to we're going to play that. I would love to do that. Only a few hours from me on the other side of the Smokies. Yeah. So, it it just it'll be a great time. And uh I I plan on talking to Richard uh sometime this week. So, I'm gonna try to plan something out because I need to I need to go see him with every everything that he's done for me. And I'd love to see you again, Herman, and and stuff like that. What? You got a whole bunch of stuff coming out this year, don't you?

He hasn't come out with anything in a while or, you know, I haven't gotten anything from him in a while. Let's put it that way. Um I I wrote him at Christmas and wished him a merry Christmas and stuff like that. I hope he's doing well. Um Gabby, get up. Oh, you are such a dumb dog. You really are. Yeah. So, so I've got, you know, I've got I've got some things in mind here and I I'm just in a good place headed in a right right direction. So, um we'll see that uh this Tuesday. It'll start Tuesday, end on Sunday. I've got all kinds of neat videos coming up that I can't wait for you guys to see because I got some other things. I I also talk about that board game geek uh hall of fame. Holy cow, what a train wreck that thing is. Um [clears throat] uh it's the Euro Hall of Fame or you know where are where are some of the great games that should be in there? I don't get it. Tons of stuff. Yes, the new Black Swan game on Anthem. Oh, wow.

And [clears throat] every time every time somebody comes out with a comes out with a card dungeon crawl, I keep on saying, "Why didn't I come up with that and and do this with Herman?" Gee, where is this? All right, with that said, I am going to get going. We We've just put in 30 minutes here, which is pretty good. So, a lot of great stuff going on this week. Look for the video on Tuesday. I've got a lot of interesting things going up uh this week. Um and you know, we're we're we're making that push to to just have fun and have a good time. And we're getting as far away from stupid stuff as you can imagine. The first Napoleonic blind swords game called a game for Revolution on Lupits. The new World War I game called a fourlororn hope lots.

Hockey is one of my favorite sports. Uh, fortunately, there's a whole bunch of Tampa Bay Lightning playing and their coach playing the Olympics and I hope they're exhausted and when they get back because we've only got three guys there.
