Top 100 Board Games Of All Time - 100 to 91 (2021)

0:00 hello welcome back to the channel and this is a channel where we give you reviews playthroughs unboxings and we generally like to talk a lot of bollocks about tabletop gaming in general and in this video we're going to be beginning our countdown of our top 100 ball games of all time this is going to be number 100 down to number 91 i can't believe that another year has flown by doesn't time fly when you're having fun right we're going to do 10 games every three or so days so that when we get to christmas day on the 25th of december we'll be able to wrap that up with an extra special video for you right the way that we put this list together is that i went around all my collection wrote down every single [ __ ] game that i had which took about three weeks to do and then i grouped each game into a set i had a 10 star game a nine star game makes star game seven slogan blah blah blah blah blah you get the idea right and then what i did i started in the top ten i pushed games out the top ten into the top 20 into the top 30 until all the other games got pushed off the list and i ended up with 100 games so if your favorite game ain't on this list there's two reasons why i ain't on it because a i ain't played it or b it's [ __ ] so let's crack on with this list so number 100 on this list let's start the christmas period off with something that makes my heart warm and makes me feel all ecstatic and jubilant inside number 100 on this list is this war of

1:33 mine right this is probably the most harrowing game i've ever played what better game to play on christmas day no i'm just kidding we ain't playing on christmas day right this is a cooperative worker placement style sort of game i guess and you'll be placing your workers out onto the board to take actions that will enable you to attempt i use that word strongly right attempt to stave off inevitable doom right we have never ever beaten this game but that's not the point the point of this game is to experience the agony of trying to survive that's what we play for there's other games like robinson crusoe but this one is pretty good because it's sort of like a story-driven game you've got like a book that gives you references that add flavor to the game right so yeah number 100 this war of mine not really a christmas game but then die hard in a christmas movie is it hey so number 99 on this list is a game that sees you trying to create a big [ __ ] off painting in the middle of the floor or is it ceiling this game is fresco this is a worker placement game for one to four players it will see you trying to wake up at a certain time of day which will then allow you to take certain actions could be trying to get paint that will allow you to paint the fresco you'll be trying to rub the bishop up the wrong way right fresco is an exceedingly simple game it's got some wonderful components and there's a couple of expansions to boot don't take it all the place so it's one of them games that doesn't really tax you that much but it's still a really relaxed and enjoyable experience which when you're approaching 50 like me i know i don't look at door but that's the sort of game

3:03 you want to play nice and easy so number 98 on this list is a dexterity game that sees you trying to chuck dice onto a target to kill monsters this game is dungeon fighter like we said you'll be throwing his custom dice onto this big massive target and that will allow you to damage monsters but the game doesn't stop there right when you're trying to fight monsters or use certain special weapons you'll have to chuck the dice in certain strange ways you might have to get somebody to hold your wrist while you are throwing the dice you might have to jump up and spin round and then chuck the dots you might have to do it with your eyes closed you might have to do it with a finger at your butt yeah that's it that's in one of the expansions dungeon fighter is exceptionally difficult right it is really really hard to do we played a household where you get one or two practice shots but that doesn't detract from the fact that this is a raucous fun when you actually do connect and you do actually do some damage then the whole room erupts and that is worth the price of a mission alone it's just been reprinted into two standalone games they tried to eat as much money out of their stupid kickstarter backers as they could but we've got the original version with all the expansions we don't need to be fleeced out of any cash because we're not doing those so you guys dungeon fire that's 98 so number 97 on this list is a game that keeps coming in and out of print some people say this was drawn by a two-year-old it's roads and boats in this game it will see you take your donkey full starters and you'll be trying to expand your empire by getting geese and all sorts of other commodities you'll be building roads and you'll be

4:35 building boats it's funny i'm thinking that one of the novel things about this game is that the tiles are covered with a sheet of this sort of perspex sort of stuff will acetate if you want to be technical don't be technical and you'll be drawing the roads on the acetate with a marker pen right you'll also be contributing to building this really odd sort of wonder right this game is sort of par for the course with splatter it looks like complete and a dog [ __ ] like a lot of their games but it is a massive brain burner it takes quite a long time there's different scenarios and what sort of stuff there's an expansion called etc and yeah we really do like roads and boats quite expensive but is it worth the money probably not but we still like it nonetheless all right so number 96 on this list is a stock market game called stockpile right in this game you will be investing your dosh in different types of stock that's why it's called stock market game right but the thing about stockpile is that you will have insider information on the way that the market is going to develop so that will lead you to either becoming a factory right money grabber bastard or you will end up going bankrupt and throwing yourself off a boat like robert maxwell probably the best sort of stock market game out that you can get actually i think of a couple of others but less on that another thing that makes this game fun is you've got personalities in here like you've got the old donald trump geezer in there you've got bill gates in there and loads of different other personalities that can add their guiding hand to your success or your failure yeah we love stockpile it's got some wonderful components couple of expansions and uh yeah if you like stock market games then this one should be right up on your radar

6:06 the next game on this list is a game by uva rosenberg it's la half in this game you will be taking resources off of a boat in the port of the half and you'll be converting these resources to build different buildings that will give you different game broken special abilities right thing that makes this game special is that you know which buildings are going to come out but each game you don't know what order they're going to come out in so you're going to have to adjust your strategy each time you play this game right this is a really really wonderful game it does play best with three players that's a word around the campfire we've played it with all player accounts and i would agree that three players is a sweet spot for this one some people say this is uv rosenberg's fine style i don't believe that but it's still a top 100 games so therefore it is our number 95 that's a half number 94 on this list is another euro style game it's the voyages of marco polo in this game you'll be sending your little workers out into the trade routes in the far east and around india and you'll be controlling them by rolling different dice whatever you roll on the dice gives you access to different things you might be able to trade the dice in to get camels you might be able to visualize or you might be able to get contracts that you can fulfill that will give you lucrative amounts of money victory points and all that sort of thing right the thing that blows my mind with this game is everybody has got access to a personality that has a monumental game breaking special ability every time we play this game i look at the one i've picked and i'll look at everyone else's i think bloody i wish i had that one and they're doing exactly

7:36 the same thing to me right so we love marco polo the aesthetics of this game really nice it looks like you're actually being buried alive in sand right but there's no ice cream in this game that's one of the bummer things about it going back marco polo should come with free ice cream but it don't so that's why it's number 94. so number 93 on this list is a game that was created by the godfather of youtube ball game videos it's a game by scott nicholson it's a game called going going gone in this game you will be placing cups into the center of the table everyone will have a number of little tiny cubes that you'll be trying to throw into the cups before the auction master says your time is up you'll be bidding on different commodities from different countries and you'll be basically trying to collect sets that will give you points and cash this is a really really solid dexterity game if you like throwing things at people and small animals in this game is going to be really good fit for you because frank cubans are cups whilst isn't like throwing a machete a chihuahua it's pretty darn close right it's a frantic fun game we always are playing this we've actually upgraded it sort of thing two seven players by buying some extra cubes and it works really really well so yeah go and go and go on a fantastic dexterity set collection game that you should try today so number 92 on this list is a game that won the spell does it win the spell desire 1999 maybe it didn't anyway it's made in 1999 so it's game called carcassonne in this game you'll be taking a tour of a stack you'll be placing it onto the table trying to

9:06 score points by maybe connecting cities together connecting roads together surrounding churches with pasture or maybe just throwing a farmer into a random field this game's been around for 22 years and it's still being played today people love this game there's so many expansions for this we have only got what we got we got the winter edition and we got the basic edition we were going to get the inns expansion so we could play with extra people and i thought actually i'll just buy a couple of 10p meeples right so job done love a bit of carcassonne it's a really simple game the scoring can be a little bit confusing for first time players but once you get over that hump it's a game that you'll be playing until the day you croak so the last game on this segment this is game 91 it's a game by vladimir sushi it's shipyard this game looks like complete and a dog [ __ ] it's brown like dog [ __ ] but it doesn't play like dog [ __ ] it actually plays really really well this is a rondelle game there's lots and lots of rondelles in this game and you'll be using these rondelles to pick up parts to create your steam powered ship or did they have diesel back then we'll say steam right that you'll be trying to collect parts to create a ship you'll be arranging your [ __ ] in your tableau and then you'll be waiting to send the ship out into a blue ribbon race or testing thing where you're going to be scoring a lot of points yeah there's one down over this game when you actually do buy it it's just a lot of punch boards and there's so many little fiddly bits that there's nowhere to store them in the box so you're gonna have to get yourself one of those little plastic compartment thingies to stick it in if you like rondelle games if you're a fan of like
