countdown of our top 100 ball games of all time this is number 60 down to 51 we're almost halfway there so it's good to know that you haven't withered and died yet but the day is not over yet so I'll be keeping my fingers crossed so just remember if your top 100 ball games are not on this list then that is because a we ain't played them or B we think they are complete and out a dog [ __ ] so if you are new here please consider subscribing to his channel hit the like button and all that YouTube [ __ ] see [Music] you bollocks so number 60 on this list of our top 100 ball games of all time for 2024 is a well-respected card game called race for the Galaxy in this game everybody will be choosing a different action and dependent on what actions are selected by all players all players will be able to choose those actions even if they haven't selected them themselves yet you might want to settle planets you might want to exploit planets you might want to turn yourself into a science fiction Somalian warlord you might just want to be one of those bog standard traders who doesn't stick their beak into anybody else's business either way race for the Galaxy is a fantastic card game it is a real pain in the ass to learn teach because it's got a rather bamboozling icon system but once you are over that hurdle once you you have plowed hundreds of hours into this game trying to get over that hump then race for the Galaxy is a really rewarding game made even better with a couple of the expansions yeah so yeah this game has got a well-deserved Accolade one of the best games ever number 59 on this list is a game that is sadly out of print and I don't even think it's going to be coming back it's a game called Quantum yeah this is a four player space themed game year that uses dice as ships each different ship will be represented by a pip on the diet and each of the ships has got a special ability some of them might be better in combat some are better at maneuverability but effectively what you'll be doing you'll be roaming around a modular board the board is bigger or smaller dependent on the player count and you'll be trying to take over different spaces blow the [ __ ] out of other players and maybe upgrade your stuff with some technologies yeah Quantum sort of didn't really do very well when it was first released yeah but I think people are now starting to regret the fact that it's gone out print because I've heard a lot of people talking about wanting this one to come back and I can see why the production quality is absolutely fantastic is a little bit abstract for what it is yeah there's not really that much theme here but the gameplay mechanics are fantastic when you mold that into a game that has superb production then I'm all over this one that fli to [ __ ] number 58 on this list is a game by a Bard game designer with the most unfortunate name you could ever possibly imagine Alexander Fister It's Great Western Trail yeah you are a cattle herder who is going to be going around the I think it's the Midwest United States who gives a [ __ ] anyway it's the United States right you're going to be taking a predetermined route stopping off taking different actions depending on what to you stop a and you'll be hiring different busy bodies to take care of your business you know what I mean you'll keep going round and around in circles taking different actions and more actions will appear each turn so that will give you more opportunities to score points there's also a railroad track at the top where you can ship your cattle off to markets and it's basically a point scoring game yeah there was a really nice expansion for this called ra to the north I think it was which added more complexity in terms of the railroad system and that yeah Great Western Trail is a great example of how Alexander Fister has taken the porno world the board game World by storm and he's one of the most prominent designers of this deck so number 57 on this list is a game that I only discovered recently what year is it I don't even know what year it is it is [ __ ] 2017 and it's a game called Santa Mar this is effectively a dice placement sort of toil Lane game yeah your dice represent migrant workers yeah building up a colony yeah make sure wonder how this game actually still exists today how there hasn't been organized ball game burnings judging on the way the hobby is going you know so you'll be using dice to activate different buildings on your player board J you'll be producing resources you will be forming different shipping routes sending out your Conquest the doors to annoy Jamie stagmire and improve your religious power to recruit monks yeah I love Santa Maria such a Bare Bones experience yeah it's got a massive amount of replayability because the buildings and the scoring opportunities very wildly from game to game yeah so yeah don't know I just don't think this one's ever going to come back yeah unless it comes back as an anthropomorphic animal re themed but if you can find it I think it goes real cheap there because obviously people don't want to be associated with this kind of [ __ ] anymore so yeah I'll pick this up on eBay for like next to nothing yeah but if you can find it I would highly recommend you pick up Santa Maria and just you don't get triggered by the theme yeah but if you do you've always got the DND D X Factor symbol to save your bacon do apologize for that Remar vegetarians so number 56 on this list [ __ ] me here we go again it's Puerto Rico this is a game that was top of the nasty little websites top 100 for ages and ages and ages until all of you [ __ ] newbies jumped on the bandwagon in Puerto Rico you will be trying to farm a colony you'll be producing resources you'll be trying to get well I suppose it's [ __ ] slaves really is it from a ship to come and work in your Plantation but you will be paying them a living wage right right each round you're going to be picking a role and rolls will allow you to build buildings that will maybe give you points you'll be able to trade your goods up you'll be able to ship your resources that you produce off to far off lands like the UK for instance and rolls that aren't picked are going to become more lucrative because you're going to stick a the balloon on them at the end of the round yeah puto is an un adult rate classic it is coming back can't remember who did it is it awaken Realms or something one of them lot has decided to produce another version of this there was a reprinting of this I can't remember is had a semi- reing but they [ __ ] up yeah they forgot to print stuff on the buildings and [ __ ] and they got some sort of cultural consultant who was not from Puerto Rico I think it was from [ __ ] as a or something and anyway it was just a [ __ ] complete [ __ ] show yeah so that got shelf and another company's taken over and we'll be seeing a new version of this in the near future I believe so fingers crossed they've made it better than our cheapest chips Ravensburger copies we've been playing since year do yeah but yeah I love Puerto Rico I love the feing of it I love the role selection and it's just a [ __ ] classic game that I'm never going to stop playing even if I might end up getting arrested for number 55 is a kitty's game basically yeah I love playing this with my kids it's poo Mory yet again it is Captain flip this game can be explained in literally two seconds you're going to draw a tile from the bag you'll look at it and then you'll decide whether or not you want to place it on that side or you want to flip over and place it on that side you'll place the tire on your player board and each tile will do a different thing and you'll get bonuses dependent on where you place them yeah Captain flip is such a simple promise yeah that simple mechanism where you're going to be looking at the ti deciding whether or not you want to flip it based on maybe what you know because once you played the game a few times you sort of can have a educated guess as to what's on the other side of the T or at least my kids can my shortterm memory shut a bits but yeah Captain flip a wonderfully simple endlessly replayable exciting toine game yeah is something that you really should check out yeah because it doesn't take that long to play and isn't going to mean the difference between Heating and eating well it might do in the UK I don't know about wherever you are maybe you guys in the Antarctic might have a problem with that hey that's if you haven't turned into the [ __ ] thing or something like that you know what I mean number 54 on this list is a game called Carnival zombie truth be told this is Left for Dead the board game yeah you remember that game by Valve left for dead one and two yeah I think they re-released it as some dog [ __ ] fre version anyway but yeah it's basically left for dead ball game what you going to doing you're going to be roaming around the streets of Venice doing a bit of Tower Defense [ __ ] you might want to take on the role of Captain Terra or lady Columbine with her sniper rifle yeah I know this video is getting worse in it and you'll be fighting off H and H Of Monsters And once you've killed them all then the daytime will come and you'll be able to progress through Venice and hopefully get to one of the Escape points where you'll play like a mini game or the game will change up and hopefully you'll escape and Win It Right Carnival zombie did have a second edition we haven't played that because I think it's a little bit too similar I think it's got Miniatures and stuff original just had box standard Cubes but it makes no difference yeah to me don't give a [ __ ] whether it's cubes or minis rle book is a real pain in the ass it's like it hasn't been translated very well metalian I don't know whether that was rectified in the second edition but in the first edition it is a pain in the backside but as always if you can get over that Carnival zombie is a [ __ ] rip roaring rolicking romp so number 53 on this list is a game which will have you shouting at each other at decibels that will make your grandmother go [ __ ] deaf it is panic on Street in this game half of you are going to be managers half of you are going to be investors the managers will be trying to sell a load of dog [ __ ] to the investors and the investors will be trying to buy the dog [ __ ] as cheap as possible this game is basically chaos in a box it works best with a high player count don't want to be playing this with like four players you want to be playing this with I think it goes up to like in 10 or 12 players or something like that whatever but yeah I don't think this is ever going to be reprinted I think the designer of the game and the publisher had a big falling out I think they basically punched each other's lights out and the designer said he's never going to release the rul of the game or something like that and the publisher said they're never going to release their part of the contract or something so it's never going to be reprinted yet but if you can find this at a cheap enough price then I guarantee you panic on Wall Street it's just mental and insane yeah your heart will be beating at a rate faster than a [ __ ] texi flight on speed right yeah Panic on Wall Street that is our number 53 so number 52 is another game by Ryo Kenia it's a racing sort of deck building game it's race to El Dorado in this game you'll be starting off with a basic hand of car which will give you treasure and allow you to move and you'll be playing cards that will allow you to buy stuff with the treasure or you'll be able to move with like the machetes or the ores that will let you move through water spaces yeah you'll be building up your deck giving yourself more powerful movement more powerful abilities maybe buying some of the pink cards going to give you game breaking special abilities and basically the first player to get to El Dorado the end of the tiles will be the winner I think I say this time I'll talk about El Dorado but I have never lost this game maybe that's why I enjoy it so much yeah I'm not looking forward to the day when I actually do end up coming second or maybe third or fourth in this game yeah but it's such an exciting game a deck building racer is a novel setup and truth be told us a little bit surprised that ran us to come up with this usually does these Euro games as dry as a nuns menja but this one is colorful exciting and wet as [ __ ] yeah just been sick of my mouth so number 51 on this list and the game that will conclude this benar segment is a game called Royals yeah this is a game by designer Peter hor guy who did another fantastic game Francis bre Royals is effectively a que pushing game yeah you'll be acquiring different country cards that correspond to obviously different countries on the map you'll be playing these that will allow you to add influence cubes to the court of that country yeah the trick with this is that you'll be able to push other people's cubes out you can play an entry card at the right time yeah it's a majorities type thing so the player with the greatest influence will gain the favor of the Court member associated with our country yeah and in doing so will score points Royals is another one of those streamline designs that just captures your imagination even though it's just a map with a few cubes on it yeah the game doesn't really deserve to be this good yeah but for some reason when you're playing it these rather drab and boring components sort of take on a life of their own and you get this sort of like backstabby typ thing going on where you plan to push somebody out and then they do the same to you so get this back and forth with your opponents where you proding each other and then planning to pull the trigger at the right time so you get that influence right Peter horse is one of the most underrated designers I think in the industry yeah he's produced some absolutely fantastic games and it's just a shame that he doesn't get the recognition he deserves yeah people just don't see his name in the same way as they do like Stephan Feld and Alexander Fister right which is a bit of a shame but [ __ ] it that's his problem not mine and we'll keep playing roles even though can't remember who designed it was it Peter what who so there you go that concludes the next installment of our top 100 ball games of all time tell us what you think about this list in the comments below what games do you think will be in our top 50 what games do you think have dropped off what game do you think will be on number one game of all time yeah will it change from last year who knows you're going to have to keep watching to find out there are another five of these to go with the final one being on maybe Christmas Eve Christmas day I haven't decided yet because I might be too busy emptying my sack down a chimney so remember if you are new here then please consider subscribing to this Channel with the like button and all that YouTube [ __ ] see you next time [Music] he
