Description

Queen Gimnax has ordered the reclamation of the northern lands. As a cartographer in her service, you are sent to map this territory, claiming it for the Kingdom of Nalos. Through official edicts, the queen announces which lands she prizes most, and you will increase your reputation by meeting her demands. But you are not alone in this wilderness. The Dragul contest your claims with their outposts, so you must draw your lines carefully to reduce their influence. Reclaim the greatest share of the queen’s desired lands and you will be declared the greatest cartographer in the kingdom.

In Cartographers: A Roll Player Tale, players compete to earn the most reputation stars by the time four seasons have passed. Each season, players draw on their map sheets and earn reputation by carrying out the queen's edicts before the season is over. The player with the most reputation stars at the end of winter wins!

Quotes (from this video)
  • A board game, really any board game, has two jobs, two responsibilities, checkboxes it has to tick in order to be worth its weight in gold in order for it to take up space on your shelf in order for you to pay any attention to it at all. It needs to be fun. I mean, that's category number one.
  • And playable means a lot of things in a lot of different seasons of life.
  • The playable part seems to take more and more center stage, more and more relevance.
  • So I've pulled together a list of the 12 board games in my permanent collection. the games that I consider fixtures in my hobby space that are extremely playable that I am not intimidated almost in any situation to pull off the shelf, teach to a new gamer, teach to an experienced gamer that I think we're going to continue and always continue having, owning, getting to the table and having a good time playing.
  • Whatever the case though, whatever you do, remember to do the important thing. Pick games to own that are both fun and playable and preferably start with the letter C if you can.
  • You're wrong. The reason why everyone knows them, at least the modern ones, is because they're fun.

  • Endeavor Deep Sea is very, very high to the top of the list.
  • I am 90% sure they would say yes.
  • My current three favorite games that don't have any kind of space or science fantasy whatever uh element to them is through the ages feast roadin and Maraca.
  • So, yeah, it's very much a multiplayer solitaire game, but it's very good.
  • I believe it's a much improve a much better version of Hrien's Wall and I love the way that the combat works against the actual the the puzzle of trying to defend yourself against the different forces that are attacking you. I really like it. So yeah, Anarchy gets a big thumbs up for me.
  • Flam Rouge, fantastic game. Definitely Flam Rouge.
  • I personally don't feel it's right for me to do them at the end of the year because most of the games I will have only played once and some of them I won't have even played.
  • I personally prefer Flam Rouge to heat.
  • Anything that wins Spiel Dejars will go on to sell way more copies, especially in the family category if it gets that Spiel Dejars award on it, which they have to pay for. They have to pay to have that award put on there, which is how Spiel Dejares makes its money. But it will sell many, many copies of the game.
