hmm hello advanced warning the purposes of this stream will be to inform not to entertain you have everything going here i've uh i could say i've never done a stream like this before but i've only ever done one other stream so i haven't done many streams like a lot of things before i thought what i would do is just throw up my computer screen and work on a video so that maybe you can see sort of what my process looks like oh look david cunningham says hi david i'm glad you're here can you hear me otherwise i've just been talking to no one let me know if you can hear me if you can see the screen and everything's working okay there's a 45 second delay so i won't know if david can hear me until 45 seconds elapsed and it'll be like you just keep talking your lips are flapping i don't hear anything cool i'll just i'll do that tech check with david and then we'll we'll proceed if he says everything yes audio is good excellent uh so as you may know i make board game videos how to play video games how to play video games how to play board game videos and sometimes clients commission me to make them and other times i just pull a game off my shelf and i'll make it how to play for it but the goal is to get more and more commission videos uh going because of course i want to try to make a living doing this that would be really nice so one of the most recent clients to

request a video from me is genius games who you might know from genotype or if you played periodic was another one of their games they do board games that are uh educational in nature but also entertaining it's edutainment right so that's it's that good marriage but outnumbered is for uh kids grade school age kids to help them practice their math and it's a superhero themed math game uh so i'm going to be putting it together and i should show you a let's see you are here i should show you this image so this is one i just put together for a client whose game is going live tomorrow david beck who's got a game called distilled that's going up on kickstarter tomorrow this is an image that i'll show to a client to sort of let them know if they're getting antsy or they say where's how's my video doing you're still working on it right this will sort of give them a sense of where i am in the process but it's great because it breaks down all the things that i do on a video and i'm showing it to you because i want to show you where i am now on this current video so i've done all of this stuff in the blue and green here i've scripted it i've annotated it so that's where i write a shot list and i can show you what that script looks like i've done the photography of the board game on the table i've recorded the vo i edited the vo this morning and i'm just at this point right here on the outnumber project edit pass a

so i'll do two edit passes as you can see i do edit past a and edit pass b so you're gonna you might see both of them you might see one i don't know it depends on how how long this goes surprise stream yeah this is dave oh hey dave how's it going uh so again like this is not this is not meant to be an entertaining stream by any means if you're working i'm working i don't know just have me on in the background and i'll be yapping and yammering so i'm going to be doing edit pass a which is sort of like a gigantic jigsaw puzzle i've filmed all the shots on the board game in my script and i should actually bring over the script just to show you what that looks like how to play yeah here it is so this is what the how to play out numbered script looks like i you know written it all and then the second step after i write it this is after i play the game i go on our right the hopefully you can hear that computer audio too let me know if you heard that beep from somebody messaging me on facebook because you're going to want to hear what premiere has to say once i start editing so i wrote this whole script in google docs because i like to be able to just be able to open it on any computer in my house or outside my house or whatever and work on something i really like that aspect of it and then i went through and i highlighted in orange all the parts that are going to be ryan shots that are going to be me talking to the camera and usually those are lines where i can't think of what goes on the screen so i can't picture anything it'll be me me saying it so it's more like maybe conceptual stuff

or something that doesn't rely on visuals from the game then i take this little symbol here for like a light and i'll i'll drop it in there and i'll make a comment and i will write what i think should be on the screen so here uh pop on bonus powers the numbering won't be there when i write this at first i'll just say i'll indicate that this is going to be a close-up shot or i'll hit b colon so that's going to be a shot of the board and so i'll write b colon da da da da da so right here i've got a close-up uh pop on the bonus powers deck pop on the villain's deck add the event deck cut the villain's deck put the other half on top so that's everything that needs to be depicted visually in the shot for to accompany the voice over and then after i write down all of those what i'll do is i'll go through this is not the no i'll take this thing whiteboard slate and i'll go back up through and i'll just go down and and as soon as i get to a b shot i'll write the letter b and then i'll do a tally mark and then the next b shot is another tally mark and i'll number all the shots as i go through so then when i'm finished i get all these lovely numbered shots and that sort of guides my uh my photography process take all the numbered shots and just go and bang out all the photos and that brings us to edit pass a so in edit pass a i have to take all those shots and slot them in but i need sort of like a guiding principle or something to hang them on and that's going to be the voiceover so

i'll sit down and that's what i did this morning i recorded that whole script and then i edited out all the swear words because my family was stomping around on top i do all this in my basement and usually it's pretty good i can reserve time with them and they all have to shush and they're all like on the couch doing whatever they're doing having to pee really badly until i finish because they can't walk around like it's really loud so it's an uneasy piece we've reached there together with with that step of the process but i've got the audio now so i'll show you what happens from that point forward i will good you can see that yes so if you don't know premiere this big black square shows what you're gonna see in the final thing this is uh like a tray of parts this is where you stick all your photos and your your videos and your audio so i'll just go into my audio folder and i'll bring in from knights around a table outnumbered uh and audio so that's the the raw one and that's the one i edited so there's my vo and you can tell what type of thing it is because it'll show you this little green waveform so i'll bring my vo down into audio track one what i've done with it and you can see if i go into audition this is where i actually edited the piece so i put all these markers in and i put the markers in to indicate where the orange orion parts are so whenever i say a line that it

starts at the orange part i'll put a marker in and then when i just stop the orange part i'll put the marker at the end of that and the reason i do that is because here i have a folder full of common elements that i use in like every video and i've just got this big chunk of orange screen and i'll even label it so that it's orange on the timeline this by the way is the timeline if you've never worked with a program that has a timeline on it you can you can scrub that or you can hit space it's ryan from knights around the table it just sort of plays through everything in sequence so i'll take this and i'll trim it and i call this process blocking because i have a theater background and it just reminds me of when you're directing a play you go through and you tell the actors where they're supposed to stand at what point so i'm sort of telling my clips where to stand at what point in the process so i'll just go through here and drop all these orange ryan's gonna talk bits using those markers that i set in adobe audition the nice thing about i mean the adobe suite is stupid expensive i got a discount on it this year but now last year i got to pay the the full price this year i think but the nice thing about it is that sometimes the programs play very nicely together and this is one case where i can drop markers in and they show up in premiere which is really nice but look i've made a mistake here because there's a marker but there's no matching clothes marker and this entire thing can't be ryan talking so let's

listen and find out what's going on you really did a number on him so that it's a superhero themed math game so throughout it i'm uh i'm dropping in all these cheesy number based one-liners and like a superhero voice and every single time we defeat a villain i go hoo that'll make more sense once i show you some pictures you really did a number on him but what do you do if you're playing hero mode and you so look up that piece of dialogue in the script but what do you do if you're playing hero mode so i should stop the ryan part that just means you multiply the number with itself so back to premiere you need to get up to some really big numbers well you can square a number that just means you multiply the number with itself so right there is where ryan's done talking or the ryan shot is finished and i'll go through and do the rest of them oh looks like i have messed up again here without a matching marker each hero has his or her own special ability that so that's probably the only time i've mentioned that find his or her own special ability that you can use once per turn he knew that line begins every player was dealt a random hero card at the beginning of the game and each hero has his or her own special ability that you can use

so from every player right there and i know what happened there the matching markers aren't there because i didn't realize that i reused my cheesy number based superhero one liner and so i i cut it and transplanted it somewhere else in the video for reasons that are boring i won't explain anyway i ended up mixing some of my markers so this process this blocking process usually only takes maximum five minutes on a video it's just like i mean it's not super necessary but it's just to help me break up the timeline and not go crazy you know as you know if you've seen my videos they always end with a ryan shot right here where i say now you're ready to play so here's that and that's how you play outnumbered this video is slightly different than what i've done with other videos because the intro the intro is usually high as ryan from knights around a table and this is game name a mechanic mechanic mechanic for x to z players let me show you how to play but the client wanted something different with this one as you know i'm very staunch supporter of putting setup at the end of the video for numerous reasons but in this case it doesn't really make sense because this is the kind of thing where i think what they're going to do is you zap a qr code and my video pops up so the idea is you can zap it in the classroom and like try to find out as quickly as possible how to play the game so the intro sounds like this hi it's ryan from knights around the table here's how you play outnumbered bang right to it none of this mess with mechanics or

who cares eight-year-olds do not care about the game mechanic they don't want to hear that and then the client wanted the uh setup stuff right at the beginning so right after the jump we go this truck is carrying the infinity generator down to the atomic's lab but these bad guys are closing in if they break through our defenses they'll steal the infinity generator and will lose and there's only one way to stop them with math so put the truck up here and the barricades down here deal everyone right so right off the top we're showing where to put the decks and where to put the things on the board cool so that's the blocking step back to that image i was showing you where's blocking blame so this tiny little sliver and this timeline is based on uh terraforming mars i just took all the timings from that cool all righty so the next step is i'll go into pop-up footage two footage folders i'll go into footage and this is where i've stored all of the the shots i've pulled them off my camera i shoot with an iphone now i used to shoot with a dslr but it was an old dslr and if you see my older videos they got dead pixels in them because it's an old dslr and so the iphone stuff just looks a lot better now and i will have my script open i'm not going to throw that up in your face because it's annoying for you to keep track of but what i'll do is i'll go through and i'll see you right off the the beginning of the script for this chunk of dialogue this is the

shot b01 so if i keep looking over there that's what i'm looking at i'm looking at the script to see what the next what the next thing is and i should also keep an eye on chat in case anybody has any questions or declares they're super bored and are leaving or whatever you want to i didn't promote this stream i just thought i'd throw it up then whoever hops on hops on no biggie i don't do i don't do ad hoc very well and i don't do spur of the moment very well i'm a perfectionist so this is kind of like a out of my comfort zone leap of faith for me so here we are so the very first shot is b01 i have a a piece of software called watchtower that goes in and pulls all my footage out from the different folders and and puts them in the right folders in premiere but one thing it doesn't do let's see if i try to explain this okay so when i do a sequence david says it's really cool so far thank you you fuel me you like you like the mouse in my dumbo hat with the magic feather uh so here's a here's an example the folder structure for this one these are all the b shots the board shots for outnumbered so if we go into b01 actually you know what i should really tell uh steve the client that i'm doing this uh hold on let me just message him here and uh hey we're live with your project just let him know because i don't know

maybe he wants to be in there if he's probably doing other stuff to worry about this is uh you know folder full of all the pictures i took for the very first shot in the video and they're sequentially numbered and i do a lot of stuff with sequentially numbered images because i do a lot of stop motion but what watchtower does is it's very great in that it pulls all this footage into the the folders i've i've created or sorry it creates the they're called bins in in premiere pro but if it sees that there's a big sequence like this that's sequentially numbered it'll just go and it'll make it into one single thing that's a sequence with all those images so if we're back in premiere and i take this thing and i put it on the timeline and it always comes in i think it's shot at 4k by default so i was i have to shrink to like 50 or 48 so this is what it looks like if we play a hero card does the whole thing right so i don't necessarily want that to happen i might want to deal with some of the photos individually and i know that in premiere you can actually go to a spot and you can like say right click it and say you just hold on this frame and extend that for this amount of time but then it pushes the rest of your timeline out i don't have a way to do it it's maybe it was slower than what super premiere pro users will do but this is how i do it so now i have to go in and separately i'm going to import footage be shots i'm going to import all of the the pictures

as well as having them in a sequence here they come so that i can do stuff like this i can i can grab the first one in the bin the very first image and this first shot is all about just showing that the flow of the game what it is is there's a truck here let me shrink it here david asks so you have to take all the shots sequentially to make the stop motion yeah i do and it's great because premiere and you'll see it in just a second premiere will take a sequentially numbered thing and it'll glom it together and make it in one sequence automatically for you it's just that it gets more to be more of a pain in the butt when you want to hold on certain frames and then run a sequence and then hold and then do another sequence and hold it gets a little bit more more picky there but this opening shot is all about showing how the game works and how things you know what i'm going to turn the computer audio down a little bit so it's not super obnoxious when i talk over myself you'll hear double ryan coming at you desktop audio let's take that down to half maybe that'll work this truck is carry and that's the other thing too is what premier does is it so i'll put a sequence like that and you notice how i'm playing it and you don't see any of that fun animation happening i think well oh right because i just put a static shot on there but i was gonna say uh you might you might throw something like this on here and hit play and it doesn't play immediately and

that's because premiere pro is sort of rendering in the background all the time and so it might not be ready to show you this stuff yet but i forgot we were doing this this first oh yeah that's another thing i did really annoyingly you notice i dropped that on the on the screen and like that's not the the first shot it's because it doesn't necessarily by default order them all alphabetically so if i hit name boom now that's alphabetical and this is the first shot and it will go to 50 scale 40 it's technically 48 but i'll go 50 because it's easier for me to type and remember this truck is carrying so one of the things i do with my videos to make them feel good to watch hopefully they're good to watch is i will cut the images to the cadence of my voice into the emphasis on certain words so i know that i have a shot here that shows the board and i now have it the next shot is the truck popping onto the board so the audio says this truck is so it says this truck so i'll go here this tr right here on truck i'll put a cut in and then i'll go back to my images and i'll find the picture with the truck and i'll drop it on there so now it looks like this this truck is yeah see so maybe i'll back it up a little bit so that you don't see the truck until you hear me say truck so this truck and that feels kind of punchy right that's kind of that's that's kind of cool and i'll i'll leave the truck on there until i say the words is carrying and then i'll show the animation of the

truck coming down so right there is when i start saying carrying and it seems like a fine point and it seems like it you know come on give me a break why would you spend that much time you sinking it making it do that i have experimented with not syncing it and it sucks it's just not nearly as engaging or interesting so let's see a spot where we can stop it so welcome to outnumbered by the way the truck as you'll see through the instructions carry it goes all the way down here carrying this infinity generator mcguffin and then you fill the board with these villain cards that have numbers on them and then you roll the dice and you have to apply math to the dice to defeat the villains by matching the numbers that are on the cards and it's sort of like a space invaders thing so they come down the screen threateningly menacingly and you have to eliminate them all before they get to the bottom and defeat your defenses and take the thing that's on the truck very okay let's see how this looks is carrying the infinity generator down to the atomic's lab but these bad guys are so that goes pretty fast i can slow that way the heck down let's try it at 50 and see if it matches the rhythm a bit better carrying the infinity generator down to the atomic's lab but these bad guys are closing in if they break through our defenses yeah so yeah he breaks through the defenses right when i say break through our defenses they'll steal the infinity generator

oh that's pretty good you see he took it off right when i said that so that's i'm pretty happy with that timing i'm going to leave that at the very end the last shot on a static so that when he comes in and steals the infinity generator he'll steal the infinity generator and will lose and there's only one way to stop them with math that's pretty cool i like that it works nicely it's very that's a pretty it's a pretty janky looking sequence to be honest i don't like that it goes partly blurry i think i'm going to cut all the blurries out it goes blurry a couple times doesn't it it loses focus all right loses focus a couple times that's not good i wonder if i can get away with just like a fade between there probably not because it's in the middle of a sequence that kind of stinks that kind of stinks there's going to be a lot of me like humming my way through things no that shot's kind of blurry too let's find one that's not you're blurry you're blurry you blurred oh no you're good you're crisp but what happens if we play that back down to the atomic's lab with these back yeah i'll settle for that

the guys on the right kind of jump again no they kind of pause so what i can do okay so what i can do instead is i can take this picture of the truck and i can mat it so we're already getting into super fancy stuff so i'm showing i'm just cutting a hole and showing the image on top so i got a clearer truck up here because i think that's where you're going to be focusing is on the truck it's a bit funky no that looks super funky maybe i'll go straight from i'll cut that animation between them and i'll just i'll just cross dissolve between them let's see what that looks like it can be a little hard to find the picture you're looking for and maybe it's this one in the tiny little window you can make the window big anything in premiere you can hit the tilde key and make the thing full screen so if i'm hovering over this and hit the tilde key and it's full screen if i'm on my timeline tilde key and it's full screen that's kind of cool it's to the point where i get so addicted to that i'm in other pieces of software like

smash the tilde key hoping to see it bigger but it doesn't doesn't go down to the atomic

but these bad guys are closing in yeah so from there which number would that be that would be the guys on the top row and then mr 12 let's find it

it's before they move down blah blah blah 15 11 10. it's hard to find and it doesn't show me if i zoom in on the sequence which which shot i'm looking at so i just have to sort of dig for it i guess it's one of these i think it's this one so if i cut it here and i cut this and i cut that and i dropped that here and i put a dissolve on there regenerator down to the atomic oh i forgot to put it fifty percent

generator down to the atomic lab but these back yeah that i can live with what happens right there now cut right here so that looks a little bit nicer essentially i spend way too much time making these videos down to the atomic's lab but these bad guys are closing in if they break through our yeah i'll go back later and i'll fuss around with a couple of those fuzzier shots they'll steal the infinity generator and we'll lose and there's only one way to stop them with math so right so on we go so bo2 bringing all my b02 shots because like i said the sequence has been compr uh sorry all those images have been compressed into this one sequence so if i wanted to animate it i would bring it out here but i don't want to animate it i want static shots so this is now at 50 for some reason it wants to default to not showing me oh no they are oh yeah so the way i shot this is that the truck is supposed to supposed to be a blank board and then i add the truck but so many times i'll film in reverse sequence especially when it comes to adding things onto the board i'll start with them all on the board and i'll take them all away because i find it's way easier to take things off the board without nudging anything out of place than it is to put things on the board because the

propensity to bump something is is much higher that way it's the same thing in video games too i found when you're programming a video game i think a lot this is a weird pet theory that i have but i think a lot of video games are about violence and destruction because in the early days their holdovers from the early days in the early days and just even now when you're programming a simple game it's much easier to remove something from the screen than it is to put something on the screen because if you think about it if you've got a game where i don't know it's aliens you're shooting aliens out of space there's much more to think about when you're putting something on the screen like is it going to collide with something that's already there is it going to be past the spot where the player's guns are to shoot is it going to be you know there's a lot more thinking you have to do to put something on the screen than there is it's much safer just to like take something off the screen that's already there and in the legal position does that make sense so like it's easier to kill things or destroy things programmatically and same thing with this with this board game stuff it's easier to take stuff off the table than it is to put it on so shout out to sequence is what i'm trying to say so put the trip put the truck boom there's that picture so put the truck up here and then we're gonna switch to this

fifty percent so uh i discovered it way too late years into using this program that you can really quickly um put uh your you can define one transition as your default transition and when you hit ctrl d when you select two clips that are butted up against each other it'll apply that default transition so usually the default transition is cross dissolve and that's where one picture or piece of video fades out while the other one fades in over top of it so i'll just hit ctrl d and throw a cross dissolve on there and you can extend that cross dissolve and make it take a longer time or shorter time oh there's mark fee hello mark ma dj mark v here and the barricades down here is that really what it looks like at 50 percent no it is not 50 there we go click here and the barricades down here deal everyone what's next in b3 b03 so some of the edit pass a process is deciding what's going to be photo oh this is better yeah i thought this didn't sound right when we actually show the barricades we actually show them popping on that'll look a lot better and i'll again i'll try to time it so as soon as i say but in barricades and the barrick and then i would say the cades

and barricades and the barricades and then the just fire them down here period so we'll play that back and see how it sounds and the barricades down here deal everyone right it's pretty good i think and i mean like i could mess that up for you and show you know what i'm going to do that i'm going to do that just to convince you that that's time well spent i'm going to mess it up so i'll move these clips forward and i'll take all this stuff and i'm going to do it again except with different timing so this is going to come this way and this is going to be kind of shorter and this will be up here and this will take longer so this is all like staggered and that here's how it sounds and the barricades down here do you ever gross right like ew nobody wants that so this cutting pictures to the cadence of my voice is cool and it works and i think it's what makes what helps make a video satisfying to watch the barricades down here do you everyone want a hero card i think anyway you can tell me if you think i'm crazy i probably think i'm crazy um very occasionally i'll have things where i've actually filmed so this is going to be a shot of dice rolling but before that happens when i say deal

everyone a hero card shuffle the bonus powers deck and keep it handy then huh i thought i should have more photos for that bit what do i say here deal all right that's why because it's a close-up shot not a board shot so we go to the cu shots close up i it's not really a close up it's just like any area that i have to shoot that's like not the board and not so the b shots and not the pb shots the player board shots if it's just like dump the gold anywhere you can fit it that's going to be a cu shot a close-up shot of just it's just me miscellaneous like whatever the hell so the cu shots oh and i have not filed them properly so this is what it looks like when i bring them in for my camera here's just a big pile of all the cu shots and i've gone in and i've made all these these directories and one thing i found out is right clicking hitting new hitting folder typing in the name and repeating for like 32 board shots or sometimes there's 60 shots in a segment that sucks so i'll actually go into like the command line prompt and hit md from make directory and then co1 co2 co3 co4 and i'll type them all out you hit enter and boom it creates them all once really quickly much better way of doing it but then once they're all the folders are there and all the images are pulled off the phone then i'll have to take them and this is the slate so when i do all the the photography i use this

handy whiteboard slate again and i'll write cuo1 so i know what the shot is i'll click it and then i'll photograph the board game so here we are and then to organize it i'll take everything that isn't the slate shot and i'll dump them into cuo1 and then i will hold on let me see here i'm just going to show you outside of the here we go and then i'll take this one this is what co2 looks like and this is what ceo three looks like so a lot of dice shots in in the close-ups on this game co4 and cuo5 then what i'm left with is all these slates and i don't delete these in case i've messed up and i'm looking at my timeline i'm like oh image underscore six nine five four it doesn't look like the right thing what is that supposed to be and so i'll be able to look up and go like oh image underscore 6955 is c01 so that means i messed up here here or there and that's why i hang on to the slates but i cut them all and i put them in a folder called slates boom and then all the pictures that are in here that look like they should be going into the video aren't because what's happened here is i've tried to shoot bo3 i took a shot i took a shot i took a shot i took a shot i realized i messed up and then i flipped myself the bird so whenever whenever the fingers in a shot that's when i know to scrap those ones and take all the photos that come afterwards so here again i took a shot took a shot took oh i screwed up so

i zeroed that out by you know making a rude gesture to myself hey i'm just live streaming my my presence hey it's cheryl did you want to see cheryl on more streams look she's gotta be able to see yourself so she looks like so you're gonna be yeah you're in the corner here if you come in there she is hey say hi say hi to shisha what's up cheshire folder named spoilers david says yeah i mean all the secrets are being revealed though okay i need you to take notes right now oh okay something important happened on hangouts is it is it nights around a table related yes oh good yes it is this is this is exciting it's important on the curb right now oh that is exciting do you want it i will get in the car immediately okay well let's ask the two or three people who are watching this live stream this is perfect uh how do i put this up here so you can see it all right here's the deal i want to do it looks really dirty i want to do nights around table story time so when i unbox the infinity box on on friday they it comes with an art book with a story about each faction and i was joking i'll do like a fireside chat reading of that thing like a like an audio book thing and i was like actually it's not the worst idea in the world a lot of board games have this written content like there's a kittan thing that has three stories in it and there's the story with the rise of fenris and scythe so i thought it'd be me in a i joked that it would be me in a smoking jacket and i was thinking wait i do have a smoking jacket and i do actually have a fireplace so i

should i should what i don't have is like a wingback chair so here's a wingback chair it's free it's blue i wanted something that was you know and it matches kind of like the cooler colors in our living room should i buy this one or should i pick up for free this wing back chair for story time oh there's another one there's another one okay mark says get it mike says the uh the art book is so nice the art book is really really nice but i don't know if i'm gonna be able to do that art book because if somebody rightly pointed out on the discord server uh that's you know it's their copyrighted stuff and people paid extra money to get that on on kickstarter and they may or may not appreciate me blabbing the the secrets that they paid for but they didn't pay for it in audiobook format i don't know i'd have to ask my clash if they're cool with it uh davos says he loves it i mean if devo loves it you know what it's free if if we end up not liking it or if it's filled with chiggers is that like if there's bed bugs all in it no i it'll go in the garage and it'll yeah steam the [ __ ] out of it yeah i easy with the language then this is why we don't do live streams with the family because they're naughty yes cheryl swears like papa even popeye doesn't swear in his cartoons get the chair just give it a good vacuuming says susannah yeah i agree susannah i think we can rehabilitate this yeah there's also this one i can pick up tonight too okay i'm sure she's gonna send me one more image and

i'm gonna recover this maybe we can put it to a vote i don't have vote technology oh okay so this is a more traditional one now the reason why i wanted to go with a it's very little i wanted to go with a blue one for a few reasons it's more uh on brand to go with the blue the brand of knights around the table is blue and just our living room with the fireplaces it's all cool cool colors it's grays and stuff like that so i don't know if that would let's see what they say it though oh yeah but i don't see cheryl's like i will recover i will rebuild the chair for you i'll go i'll chop down trees it's like relax cheryl no just see if they say sure came on and the viewers doubled that's the bump that you give here come back into the shot because we need you here we need you here there you go it's all right hello i feel like a pimp now uh so yeah suzette is here because cheryl's here i know it i know it uh let's just wait there's this 45 second delay we'll see if they think okay what we're deciding between is chair number one or where's chair number two chair number nope that's that i don't know i'll go get chair number two this is chair number two it's turn number one chair number two chair number one chair number two let's see what they say blue church yeah the bl yeah everyone's saying the blue one i'm with you we're gonna go blue all right there she

goes look at somebody i mentioned this stuff like just as like a oh michael michaels is the red one no tough tough nuts michael you're you're overruled uh so it's gonna be the blue chair i'll mention these things as sort of like a lark and then like the next day cheryl will be in the garage like laboring away on whatever i just kind of mentioned picture a friendly giant style intro for story time oh my gosh i don't know if they're going to know what you're talking about so if you're canadian you know all about the friendly giant there was a children's program from when we were little little kids very very gentle very gentle and it had an older middle-aged guy with like a gray bowl cut and a couple puppets one was a giraffe one was a rooster wait was it canadian i said i say yeah it must have been it's in the cbc museum yeah it was canadian apparently i was canadian and mark says go cheryl go i agree she's like running to get the chair she's gonna like bring it home carry it uh no no no go for blue i meant the red looked masterpiece theater slash friendly giant yeah the red does look more what you think of when you think wing back chairs in a you know room with people drinking cognac and smoking cigars but i think branding wise and if you see our living room it's gonna it's gonna fit a bit nicer apparently giant was totally connect yeah i thought so because they have rusty the rooster who doesn't look anything like a rooster by the way he's kind of rubbery and gross looking in in person and jerome the giraffe the

puppets in the cbc museum if you ever visit toronto head to the cbc building and they've got a little museum it won't mean anything to you if you've never seen anything but you've seen hockey night in canada maybe they got some stuff from there too and it's a cool studio tour i don't know if they still do studio tours probably not with kova these days but you can go through and i remember one of the coolest things about the tour at the cbc building is they'll yeah man i hope you guys tune in for this riveting canadiana they'll take you through the area where they used to do all the foley for uh their radio shows and they still do radio shows and they still do live foley and it's really cool it's like they have pairs of shoes and different uh panels of different stuff that the shoes can walk on so they'll have gravel and they'll have grass and pebbles and ah that's cool that's so cool back to this what are we doing we're working the barricades down here deal everyone a hero card so when i say deal everyone a hero card some of this stuff is going to be edit pass a and some of the stuff is going to be edit pass b so whenever i'm talking about cards one of the stipulations i have when i work with a publisher on a commission video is that they got to provide me assets because when i pull a board game down from my shelf i mentioned this in the anachrony live stream as well uh and i wanted to pick the assets i actually go and i scan the assets and i take them into photoshop and i cut them all out and it's really laborious it doesn't really look very good the assets look kind of crummy on the screen they don't look as good as if the client were to provide me you know beautiful assets that they would have sent to the printer to actually make the

game but publishers are reticent to send me those assets because of course theoretically i could get up to shenanigans with them i could sell them i could i could theoretically maybe pirate the game depending on how many assets they give me but usually when i do these kickstarter preview videos it's not as much of an issue because uh the the game's not in production all they've done is spent a few hundred bucks on a bunch of prototypes for it and they're not so worried about stuff getting out and the game is still usually kind of being workshopped on kickstarter so they're not they don't seem to be as hyper alert about that outnumbered was already in production and i believe they're trying to do a second run of it so they got all the art assets and they provided them to me so when i in the part of the video where i say oh everybody gets dealt a hero card that's edit pass b stuff that's when i'm actually going to be going into adobe animate and animating their assets around the screen flying around so that's not this this part this is still placing photographs shuffle the bonus powers deck and keep it handy this is more close-up stuff actually i have a picture of that so back to close-ups right close-ups oh yes that's what i did i remember where i am and what i'm doing bfg is british roald dahl yeah it's british but like man my grade 4 teacher read us the bfg and it was he was a wonderful reader so i have fond memories of the bfg here's all my close-ups so right around right around which points yeah i'm going

to want to switch just to keep visual interest so right around here i'm going to switch to this side of the board shot and remember control d i can just really quickly put a cross dissolve deal so that'll happen on in front of this shot and if the colors look a bit muddy that's another thing that's one of the very last things i do uh in in the process is i can i can click this shot and i can goof around with the exposure and i can make the highlights brighter the shadows darker so i usually do a bunch of that but that doesn't i don't do that until i don't make the pictures look really good until the very very end because it can slow down render time and it can take up it's more processor intensive so i just see how it went a bit muddier i don't know if you can really tell that through the live stream but i make the pictures better and i'll make the auto audio better with a post processing thing at the very end too that's all later finishing touches kind of stuff you have to be a certain canadian of a certain age group to recall the friendly giant and mr dress up the deal with the friendly giant is he was on air for like 30 years or something ridiculous so yeah you do have to be of a certain age but it's a pretty generous age bracket to be able to remember the friendly giant like i grew i was a little kid in the 80s and i think that people in the i want to say 60s knew the friendly giant because he was on for a while mr dress up fascinatingly you might not know this about him if you don't if you've never heard of mr dress up he's another children's entertainer on canadian television but he got to start as uh as a puppeteer or an intern for uh fred

rogers so he's on mr rogers neighborhood for for a bit and then fred rogers went to bat for him to help him get his show with the cbc up in canada kind of cool a hero card shuffle the bonus powers deck and keep it handy be on bonus powers shuffle the bonus powers there they are shovel the bonus powers deck and keep it handy then shuffle up the bill right there on the v on the villains i'll pop on the villains deck the villain deck if you're playing on the easier side kick mode you just want the blue guys so that's where i'll bring up the cards of the blue guys but if you're looking for more watch out for that rules gremlin i think in uh in my uh what's it called the bin the common bin where the animation's been hold on and m's is he there no he's in one of these bins the rules gremlin so anything that you see in in multiple there he is the rules grandma so if i wanted to bring in the rules gremlin there he is right there and i'd have to uh like uh do a like chroma key and drop his black background out so that you could see behind him and then i would have to go into hold on here's here's he doesn't cross dissolve remember he slides in from the left or the right depending on what's going on screen so we hit a keyframe on position and i go one two three four five six maybe and put a position there and then i'd slide him off the screen and it's gonna look dumb because you're gonna see the black thing but he'd come in like that and then i would go up to

audio and these are all the pieces of audio that i use a lot so here's the slide whistle but i don't have it trimmed to the one i use for the rules gremlins so i'd have to find no it's an up it's an up slide here we'll meet this yeah that's i think it's just that's just the first one that i use from that big clip of slide whistle stuff so boom here's the rules coming right and then let's put the uh the chroma key effect on there i think it's chrome okay let's type in the word key and all the different key effects are here track matte key ultra key might be ultra key that i use so we'll drop that effect on there and ultra key will tell it the key color is black didn't work um so maybe it wasn't ultra key i don't know uh learning things in front of people paranoid inducing here let's let's try a different effect we'll delete ultra key and we'll just do something that's going to look kind of crummy so we'll do a color key some of these effects look better than others key color key color is going to be that so yeah so the you know it takes some and what i would really do if i wanted the the rules gremlin in there as he's been in other videos i've i've done all this keying stuff i've figured it out on other videos so i'd probably just go open up one of those older videos grab him copy and paste and get him in there

but you get the idea if i figured out the key correctly uh what's going on in chat not sure if you mentioned this part of your videos but i love you read x marks with the duck quack oh thanks susanna that is edit pass b stuff so we're still in edit pass a where i'm just fitting all the photos together like it's a gigantic jigsaw puzzle and then all the cards that fly in on the screen that's that's edit pass b the the duck and the x but i'll show you where the x is uh like i said i have this bin just full of uh common elements and i have this one called outline so when i'm doing edit pass b i called the bin outlines because there's so much of me tracing shapes on the screen and i'll show you that process and you'll be horrified because it looks like it takes a long time and it does but the three most common elements are the fingers and the fingers help me save time so like if i needed to indicate that bonus powers deck for some reason back in the day what i might do is laboriously draw an outline around that but i don't do that as much anymore because it's just way faster for me to just stick that finger up there and then i'll go up here and two effects and i'll there's my custom hand drop shadow just for those hands so be like you know kind of thing which you've seen in a bunch of recent videos so if you see those fingers this is some inside baseball stuff this is me trying to save time by throwing those fingers up there oh but you wanted to see the x hold on here's the x and then the effect is up in audio

i have my quack blank right there and then it lasts for three seconds and i have to put that hand shadow that i just showed you on it and i would put that up on the deck if that's what i'm indicating is not a thing anymore and i would cut it right when that ends and you would do it on a like a on a break between right you'd exit and it would snap to another photo kind of thing you know there's there's my little xe.quack mugglejoy says it's going to say the same thing it sticks in my mind when i go to play the x yeah don't put a card there oh i'm sorry it's a bit of a nod to apple right they had that duck quack even though i wasn't an apple user it's just for some reason the the duck quack is ingrained keep it handy then shovel up the villain deck if you're playing on the easier side kick mode you just want the blue guys in the deck so i'll show the blue guys if you're looking for more of a challenge you can play in hero mode you shuffle the purple cards in there as well so i show the purple cards the event deck yeah and then here i would i would the emphasis on event is on vent not the uh so i'd i'd wait to the the vent part this is all such it's such my new now that i'm showing people what i do it feels like splitting hairs on everything but that's what is what i do so where's the event deck

right here the event deck oh somehow the uh villain deck oh right because i added cards i remember now good and then over here they were good if you want a game somewhere in between sidekick kicks and hero modes you can play with either of the purple villains or the event deck and again i'm sure the bad guy is ultimate zero and i'd show you a big boss in edit pass b yeah right so so i've got a picture of cutting the deck cut the deck no cut the deck so cut the and then the d of deck cut the deck and then shuffle and i'll show his card dropping down to where the deck is or maybe even flipping and going into the also one half of it and put the up and put right on other and put the other half on top put the other half on on i think i have a picture for the top and put the other half on top yep beautiful that's how you make sure absolute zero doesn't appear until later in the game thanks for dropping in suzanna great to see you

michael says i think my wife might blame you a bit for my descent into printing madness those arnac files were amazing though ah weren't they oh no it's my alarm oh no on the phone that i use every day that i'm now using off livestream oh no nobody no stop with the things thought we stopped no are we back now you know michael todd's phone number okay i think we're good i think we're back but you'll never be sure and still feel my phone buzzing when you'll turn up your opportunity generator pick someone to be starting player and that person rolls the three dice right so this is this is one of the rare shots that's actually going to be video let me just find where it is here if you're just joining me i'm i keep looking over at my script because that helps me it's where my shot list is pick someone

oh no that's orion shot that's still supposed to be ryan oh no it's not wait hold on uh it's a it's cu 4 i want to say no it's not it is a board shot board shots bo4 there it is so let's see what we got here uh iphones are wacky they take things in all kinds of different formats and very often i'll get shots that are sideways or upside down oh good the video froze when the alarm went off that's good so i didn't just blast michael todd's phone number to everybody so what you do about this is you can just go into effects and hit negative 90 on the rotation to let conform it to the way it's supposed to be part of me i still don't know how to burp on a live stream so that looks pretty good it's got a nice sound so they don't steal the infinity generator pick someone to be starting player and right here and that person rolls the three dice now you notice you might i don't know if you can hear that but there's like air conditioning sound in the background so what i'll do is i'll unmarry the video from the audio by hitting unlink so if you don't hit on link and you move this thing around this parts the audio and this parts the video and they're going to move together but if you want them independent of each other you can unlink them so now

if you wanted some sort of abomination where the rule of the dice happens at a different time that's nasty but i did that so that as soon as as soon as that sound of the rattling dice goes i can cut out all the other audio which is where you can hear the the air conditioner and that person rolls the three dice you can still hear it a little bit maybe i'll cut trim it a little bit more

why did the japanese chocolate show up from the top right hilarious i'll tell you why because if you join me and those of you who join me in the last live stream know that for my unboxing live streams we take a snack break and i introduced a snack to people and i was eating that chocolate bar and in order to bring the image of that chocolate bar on the screen i had it mapped to control k so if i hit ctrl k again boom there goes the chocolate bar i just copied all the settings from the last live stream to this one so if i do other stuff i can show you i mean i can show you the rebus for the last life let's see oh no the rebus got deleted oh well otherwise i could show you a fun puzzle that i did in the last live stream but you have to watch the last live stream to see that one who knows what other surprises are awaiting us oh boy this is wild wooly the three dice you have to apply math to the numbers on the dice to match the numbers on the bad guys cards then you get to knock so i probably don't want the big hairy manhand picking up the dice at that point let's see what the script says

so right here is where i would do like a frame hold thing so i think i can i don't have a lot of experience with this but i right click it and i hit uh insert frame hold segment see how what i mean and it cuts and extends the audio so instead if you just hit add frame hold it doesn't make it so that you can oh it does okay nevermind haha it's all good you get to knock those villains off the board great then you get to knock those villains off the board what's next

i'll show you something uh i'll show you some examples in a second okay someone to be starting player and that person rolls the three dice you have to apply math to the numbers on the dice to match the numbers on the bad guys cards then you get to knock those villains off the board i'll show you some examples in a second at the end of everybody's turn you at the end of everybody's turn you move the infinity truck down the board uh-oh i don't know if i got the shots for this oh dear that happens too and then i i make a note down at the bottom of the script that i need to pick up because i screwed up and i forgot something let's take a look in in here and see if i've got pictures of the truck moving on the board i have pictures of the truck moving down the board in other instances oh i know what happened do i know what happened i don't know what happened b05 let's go hunting let's go hunting for the pictures that we need

that's not the truck moving on the board that's not it that's the rolling dice thing we just did there's a middle finger shot so i'm going to take all that and cut it and put it in slates because that's some junk shot stuff right there footage

b06 is that it's hard to tell from here i don't think so i'm just gonna leave so you know sometimes what i'll do if i screw up here and my color for um screwing up stuff that i need to redo later is uh is blue so i'll color this stuff pink and then i'll go into my common folder if i find the photos that i need later i'll know i can go into this blue area and fix it but if not i'm going to have to do a retake silly jerk down the board whenever it reaches a spot with a red burst on it the villains moved by the end of the month they'll be sponsored by black thunder yeah good memory it was called black thunder it was a pretty good bar actually i i mean you don't have to fight too hard to convince me to eat a chocolate bar but i enjoyed it mark says i love the style of your instruction videos and i've always wondered how you get the game pieces to move on screen stop motion or some sort of magical software it's a combination of both so i actually i'll do other stuff later where i'm actually doing the photography but i'm it that's going to be a way more boring live stream than this is but that's actually just me like move click move click move click kind of thing super dull it's honestly of this stuff and if you're just joining us this is sort of the uh something i provided to a past client a week ago showing him where he was in the process of all this stuff on the process list my two least favorite parts right here

annotating that's when i'm going down and and numbering all the shots in the shot list it's the worst and photography stakes i hate that part of it i used to not mind it but now i don't know why i think it's because i i forget the way i do it now is i just turn on something interesting on spotify and at least i'm listening to music it's it's it's better but one of the reasons i don't like it is because the i mentioned the the camera i used to shoot with is my my phone so my wife cheryl will often be messaging me important family stuff like you know oh you need to go make dinner or i i took off to get groceries or one of the children is bleeding or whatever so it's important stuff and when it comes into my phone and my back is turned to my computer i don't see it and then it causes consternation and stress because i'm missing all my messages on my phone so i associate the photography process with angry family great what are we doing yes reaches a spot with a red burst on it now i have to have photos of that what's going on what did i miss burst that's going to be a unique word in my script now this whole section here i'll show you this whole section of the script i did not put for some reason one of these light icons and a shot i don't know why why didn't i do that that's weird maybe i'll find it somewhere else later and i'm just not finding it because i'm stressed out

i'll just move on to this part if the villain bumps into one of your barricades villain bumps against the barricade b05 here we go back to it the villains move one step down the board too and you deal a new batch of villains to the top row i don't know why i don't have that that seems weird maybe i thought i was going to reuse the footage from the earlier in the video i don't know if you're playing on right but anyway back to footage b b05 michael says that answers one question i had you are covering distilled yes i am can't wait to see your video on that it looks super good i really enjoyed distilled so did cheryl we don't always know what to expect with these commissioned commissioned videos for games because you know a lot of the the publishers are sort of smaller publishers who may be doing it for the first time or the second and third time so not the massive you know cg types so maybe they're just still finding their footing with game design but we busted that out and had a great time with distilled so this is some nice free publicity for dave and paperson games which i'm happy to give them because i enjoyed it but distilled is on kickstarter tomorrow and you'll be able to watch my video for it tomorrow morning at 8 00 am don't don't set your alarm or anything and rush to the computer to watch it but it'll be there for you tomorrow anyway uh and definitely uh check it out it's

neat it's not a it's not a push your luck game it's a mitigate your luck game dave's calling it and i think that's an interesting uh nuance um it's neat just watch the video it's it's cool here we go if you're playing on hero mode you also draw an event card and do what it says if you're lucky what the hell where am i what is before oh i see i see the infinity truck down the bar whenever it reaches a spot with a red burst on it the villains move one step down the board too and you deal a new batch of villains to the top row if you're playing on you lost the plot you also draw an event card and do what it says if you're lucky the event card doesn't do anything but most of the time it'll make the villains move even further down the board hey luke good to see you thanks for joining as i mentioned before this is not really meant to be an entertaining live stream and i think i'm living up to that promise i'm just i'm just working i'm just editing together a video uh for genius games or it'll make extra villains appear on all these red spaces so that's a spot where when i say all these red spaces uh in edit pass b i would take a screenshot of this i would go into a separate piece of software i would trace an outline around it and then you know what i'll go through that process right now so here's how that works so i'm gonna go into browse and i'm going to go into do do do do where the hell numbered i'm going to tell it's going in stills

folder so i would call this red spaces hey how's it going cheryl cheryl's lurking in on the side there i think if we say the magic words cheryl will appear on the live stream what are the magic what are the magic words to summon cheryl you tell me in chat and then we'll say them together and maybe instead of yeah exactly instead of poking your head through the cadillac shelves she'll she'll materialize so i take a screenshot of that that's how i do it i hit the camera button i give it a name and then i will go into adobe animate and you're like ryan why are you using a completely separate program to do whatever the heck is it is you're going to show us and i'll tell you it's because adobe deliberately tools their software so that not all things work in all software because you could technically draw vector graphics in photoshop but then how would they sell illustrator you know what i mean so they make some things more difficult to do in in certain programs so that you have to pay for the entire suite and learn the entire suite and that is the case with this kind of task so what i'll do is i'll drop that that shot i just took i'll lock it i'll create another layer and then i want to highlight the red spaces so i'll i have a bunch of macros programmed so that the really mundane things uh are automated

so you got to give it a rounded rec kind of thing to match what's on there and i got to go up to 12 in the stroke so use a 12 point stroke to do this kind of thing and i will generally draw it and then i will double click it and use the perspective warp just to get it because it's not head on right just like a camera so you're going to get like a little bit of perspective in there so that kind of thing and if it's not perfect it's okay because you'll see if i do a live stream with edit pass b you'll see i have to do like a million of these outlines and the faster the faster i can get these outlines done the better so put one up here maybe a little bit slap dash a little bit sloppy and then one over here and i think that's all the red boxes that we can see on the screen and i hope one of you says ryan why don't you just blah blah blah and tells me the fastest way to do this because this is a pain in the butt then i will hit a keystroke to give it a an outline as you can see it's a blue outline with a with a white glow on it and that's just because i have to tweak my macro depending on the game some games look better with blue outlines in front of them and some games look better with white outlines and since these boxes are already white outlined i think i'll go with the blue outline because it'll stand out better but other games are very very white and though you know the white doesn't show up the blue doesn't show up anyway my macro is programmed to tell it to put a white glow on there so just i don't have to do this every single time i would go and i would edit the macro but what i'll do for the moment is i'll go into filters

it's also a little bit buggy it's a little bit buggy and i don't know how to come now but we have a chair update from cheryl please come in cheryl oh yes come right into the shot they want to see you what's the chair update cheryl uh the chair was gone it was not quick enough we lost the chair sorry thank you cheryl it's very sad so we didn't didn't get if you're just joining us we had a bead on a blue wingback chair for a special storytelling segment but it's no 7 30 dice but we're getting the brown one all right it's something something the red shirt yes michael we're getting the red chair yes so we'll see how that goes the glow you can apply a glow to a frame here's the frame selected here are the filters and there's the glow i select it and i hit blue and i won't have to do that when i go and edit my macros so tell it to make a blue stroke so that's what i got and then i drop out the background and i export it as a ping in a folder called outlines and with the same name red spaces and that creates it and then i would go back to premiere yes this is what i do every single time you see one of those outlines and i go into outnumbered uh outlines and i would have this window open on the side on the other monitor that's why i'm dragging it over here and i would have the bin for the outlines open so just to make it this is why i this is why i don't this is why i separated into edit pass

and edit edit pass a and b because i've had to do this every single time through edit pass a it would just like it would slow me down so i i relegate all of the outline-y stuff to one process on its own just so that i can get through it a lot faster but i bring in the outline into the bin and then i put the outline down on the timeline so that when i say here on appear on all these red spaces and then i would cut it here delete that and hit it crosses off so that that outline fades on all these red spaces so you see the amount of work i just did for an outline that appears on the screen for maybe a second a second and a half such as my and that's like a long appearance of an outline so it's a little bit heartbreaking it's terrible what happened to the chair it's hold on i'm sad that i don't have a moderator to to kick luke out for making that comment i was like oh that was awful uh you ottoman be ashamed of yourself i don't know editing a video seems extremely complicated or am i wrong luke asks well if you if you were just editing a video and all of your footage was video depending on what you're trying to do it's it's not really that complicated it's it's really simple like uh i was about to show you how to do

something simply and then i realized this particular sequence is going to be a little bit complicated but if you want and go up to b footage b and b shots we're going b5 i think so if i wanted the the picture to switch right here i would hit c on my keyboard and that would make it a razor blade so back in the old days of editing film it was way harder like this is called a digital editing suite in premiere pro and uh i went to school and i took an editing class just at the just at the tail end of using like vhs and then the people did it with actual film before that and i'm so happy that we can edit digitally because what you'd have to do the reason why the icon is a razor blade is because you actually had to take a razor blade to film and physically cut it and then take two pieces of film and then take tape and actually tape the pieces of film together and that's how it was done how barbaric so that's why it looks like a razor blade but now you just hit the razor blade click and now it's cut it into two segments and you can just select this one and get rid of it or take another picture and i'm holding down control on my keyboard and i'm dropping on top and that makes it inherit i don't know if you've seen it but i've had to crank everything down to 50 as i put it on the timeline because it's shot in 4k and i only need it to show up at 1080p um so anyway it makes it conform to the

rotation and the scale of what was already on the timeline so now when you scrub the playhead back and forth over that cut the villain boom that's it so you watch the truck up there that's called scrubbing by the way going back and forth with your playhead if the villain bumps and i think i found my missing footage isn't that the footage that i was looking for with the with the truck moving down the yes i think it is any tips for beginners i want to be able to edit videos better if i can ask absolutely you can ask that's why you're here uh yeah so tips for the beginners um i i don't know i was just talking to my friend jess who's a beginner and i don't know if i would have advised her to pay for like the adobe suite i'm using the adobe suite now because i'm using it semi-professionally i think professionally means you make money at what you're doing i'm not quite there yet but uh i don't know if i would blow money on it because you can get a lot of free tools so one that you want to look up is called davinci resolve and davinci resolve is a free edit digital linear edit suite so it's like premiere pro except you don't have to pay adobe every year for it so davinci resolve is this kind of thing with a different interface it's going to look different and i don't know how to use it so don't ask me i've opened it up before and it's just foreign enough that i i can't figure quite figure it out at a glance if you want an answer to photoshop you want to download [ __ ] if you want an answer to illustrator you want to download it like inkscape so there are if you want to do 3d stuff the way i'm i'm making inserts and and little

tchotchkes that you'll be able to print on your 3d printer by joining the patreon i'm using blender for that and that's another piece of free software so you can do a whole lot these days with free software it's fantastic so that's my first tip second tip if you ever want to use a program and you think there might be a free version of it but you don't know go to a website called alternative2 type in the name of the program and it'll say oh inkscape is an alternative to illustrator or it'll list a bunch of pieces of software that are alternative some paid some free but that's a really good resource uh mark says good asset management why thank you it's not my first rodeo the better you organize your assets the yeah that okay so that's mark giving a tip to beginners mark's i thought he was complimenting me i guess i was wrong uh but that's absolutely right so all this stuff that you see me doing all these pain extra pains that i'm going through to make sure that i have all my ducks in a row and all you know my footage split into shots there's the b shots and these shots are numbered and and you know it's all in my script and easy to reference um yeah the the the more organized you are and in certain projects like when it gets to the end of the project the client has asked for pickups for the third time and i'm just trying to get through it and i've been you know two weeks on the project i'm just two weeks is my limit i'm just like ah going crazy then you start to get slap dash and sloppy and you start adding assets to the wrong folders and it's harder to find things and and you get a taste of what it would be like if you weren't so organized don't be don't be like that be organized

from the beginning it's also a compliment i guess says mark oh yeah yeah uh another tip for beginners another piece of software that i use extensively is called everything and it's a lifesaver it has nothing to do with editing but absolutely get everything if you're running a window system it is just like it's way better than windows like file finder software you just type in a thing and instantly it like it's created a database of all the files in your computer and it's really easy to find things and one of the things that that really slows me down is is fishing through all these folders trying to look for things and organize assets everything is beautiful and you can get it at ninite.com n-i-n-i-t-e let me just show you that this is great i love talking like nerdy nerdy nerd stuff tool so ninenet.com is a site that has all kinds of free and useful software blender which i just mentioned paint.net [ __ ] which i just mentioned and so what you can do at ninite.com is you can just be like let's see i want chrome and i want zoom and i want audacity which is a free version of adobe audition so it's audio software and i want dropbox for some ungodly reason and i want cute pdf i don't even know what that is and so you check all the pieces of software you want and you say get your ninite and it gives you one file one installer file you double click that and it throws all that stuff on your computer in one shot fantastic nine it is great it's always hey jason g

nine nights always my first stop whenever whenever i like restore my machine or get a new computer or whatever and instantly go to nine night to get all my tools and software uh what else can audio is more important than video so if you can get yourself properly micked people will forgive dim imagery but they won't forgive crappy audio as much it's just hard to make it through a video that sounds like trash i edit using fcpx and i hate using imovie it's so counter-intuitive yeah i've never used imovie i get yeah all the software is going to be different whether you're on a mac or a pc which is why i haven't really touched imovie that much here on all these red spaces so now that i found the footage that i was looking for i'm going to go back to this blue section yeah so right here is where actually in a second so i need a transition there boom at the end of everybody's turn you move them in fear on the emphasis on infer you move the infinity truck down the board infinity truck i wonder if i have more shots of the infinity truck moving and feeding down the boat oh no so the next shot is this bad guy moving down the screen spinning any truck down the board whenever it reaches a spot with a red burst on it i'll highlight that one step

still seems like that section i'm missing footage or i i told myself i was going to reuse it from the beginning of the video so i'll just i'll just drop a whoo-hoo i'll just drop a blue crazy here i'll make that blue so that i know later that that's a a mess up spot or something i have to go fix in a bit i won't bore you with it not that the rest of this is at all fascinating yeah footage b shots b05 by the way this is absolutely not the case where you feel compelled to stay to the thrilling conclusion i'm just working and i thought i'd live stream it label pink

pink if a villain bumps into one so this is where it gets a little bit a little bit more complicated i have all these sequential shots that i took in this little bundle here make it fifty percent with your barricade that's really weird what's going on here

he doesn't go anywhere what's happening 6972 oh i picked the wrong one name 6972 if i go into b05 6985 image sequence open go something weird happened back at 50 i wish there was a keyboard shortcut for that too i do that a lot there we go your barricades you get rid of we're around there

i'll find the shot where he hits it and we're gonna pause for a sec which one is that it's hard for my aging eyes to see right here i think

oh you want to ask board game questions dude go ahead with your barricades absolutely and i'm sure like mark can probably answer your question if i can't i mean if everybody in the chat should be able to answer your board game questions hell we're working people one of your barricades you get rid of you get rid you get rid get rid of the barricade and and the bad guy and the villain that's rough

and the villain okay get ready to the barricade and then this is kind of messy it's meant it's confusing and messing because i couldn't move the villain down this guy down here without moving the guys up here because they're supposed to move at the same time but i didn't anticipate that i would be pausing in the middle of his motion like that so that's kind of a another spot where i might need to massage it hmm if you get rid of the barricade and the villain just find the last shot no is this one and no no no no way before where's the spot where that villain goes away billy billy villain right here and the villain what do these jokers do for the rest of it

i don't know why they pop oh what's that no they oh they keep coming down so i should i should let them keep coming down right here i'm the villain nope

it's just a matter of finding the right shot which is still right up here somewhere let's say it's this one it's the one before that it's dylan and the villain nope i was wrong someone after that there we go that didn't take too long did it

thrift stores to get vintage games when i was a at 401 games this past weekend as a board game store in toronto i shot myself going into it and i want to do that for other stores that are available to me because it's i just find it's interesting to see where people shop depending on what part of the world they're in and our situation in canada is a little bit different than if you go into a different country apparently it's really hard to get board games in india then you see all these all these posts on facebook and i don't know if people are making them up but they're like no i don't know i found this copy of kingdom death monster for two bucks at the thrift shop should i should i buy it like what are you kidding me i go my thrift shop and it's like the stuff that they couldn't sell at walmart because it was too mainstream or something like it's it's abysmal it's terrible so i wanted to take my camera into the value village thrift store down the street and show you what a abysmal scene it is what was the question about thrift stores again i know you said thrift store do you recommend thrift stores to get older vintage games or not really i mean old yes vintage sure good i don't know i feel like a real fool because the last time i grabbed something from a thrift shop i grabbed 1313 dead end drive which i thought was a thrift game it's not i saw it on a store shelf at walmart like or toys r us a week later we still have toys r us by the way it's not out of business and uh and it was like my copy from the thrift shop shop was missing pieces so i paid five

bucks for a busted version of the game that i could have picked up for 10 bucks said god yeah seen it times 100 totally if you want saturday night live trivia pursuit video edition you'll find 20 copies of it at a thrift shop go for it fill your boots and the villain does this sequence look okay one of your barricades you get rid of the barricade and the villain but that leaves the atomic slab wide open if a different villain gets through that villain gets through on through i'll do the rest of it so take my little sequence from before here it's not being nice to me

let me find the spot eight copies have seen it this is eight copies i've seen it twilight oh god twilight monopoly incomplete clue and deal or no yeah it's not even like the full version of a crappy game it's like clue with colonel mustard missing or it'll be like does this exist i should check for geek i had this weird thing the other night where i'm like is friend's clue a thing i don't know if i came up with that or there's a fever dream or like it's a a real thing you can see ever i don't think it's a real thing you can see a version of clue with with friends as the characters right i don't know why one of them murdered somebody maybe not maybe it's not i don't know what i'm talking about gets through that this little bit confusing let me see if i can get the right sequence going in here i don't know we'll just go from here import sequence go i'm doing sloppier work now that i'm being watched don't worry clients i'll fix it later huh that's weird do i not have pictures of those guys breaking through

now view preview pretty pain i'll often have to run sequences in explorer because they're too small to be seen yeah right there there's that guy going through number 18. starting from 6999 and i grabbed 96 so 699 image sequence so it's going to pull everything from this image all the way to the end sequentially into its own little sequence that's the magic of the magic of stop motion but it didn't what's happening here image sequence go open this one it doesn't pull it in as a sequence what is happening what is happening i'm going to make a new bin called what is happening

very strange what are you watching on ebay mark i had a fight with somebody on on facebook a couple weeks ago because that's what i do i just fight with people on the internet because i'm a pro like that and i was complaining because somebody asked you know what's the best whatever game and he's like oh he named a game that was out of print and like what are you doing like what's the point of that why are you naming a game that's out of print that people can't get and he blew up at me he's like you can still get games that are out of print you just have to go to ebay and pay 60 dollars shipping so i'm like yeah i mean technically like technically you could probably exhume the dead game designer and get some sort of voodoo doctor to necromance him back to life and rebuild the game for you but like the which may be a bit a bit far but you know with enough money and power you can do anything you want but like come on recommend a game that's on store shelves so i'm not sure why it's not bringing this in as a sequence i'm going to closely examine these names ah that's why look number 7000 is missing so it's not pulling it in as a sequence but if i pull in that one it pulls it as a sequence why is number 7000 missing well let me show you uh how great it is that i have everything whoa but i can't type so you just say

image 7000 and nothing comes up hmm that's interesting i wonder why that one photo is missing anyway carry on just learn what camel case is in programming you're using it for your folder names yeah i'm a yeah i'm a programmer i was a programmer so i use camel casing a lot so as long as we're learning things let's talk about that so this is camel case this is not so there's a difference between the two when you capitalize the first letter or you don't camel cases when you it's called it looks like humps like camel humps and this is called oh man i forget what it's called when you capitalize the first letter and then hump everything else that's a new word um this is not so if you're using underscores not and this this is not oh i can't even spell with people watching me yeah that's just a throwback it's not only a throwback to programming but it's a throwback to the days when if you made a folder you tried to make a folder name with a space in it your computer exploded right because the os just i couldn't handle that and now when i see people making folders folder names with spaces of them i'm

like oh my god head for the hills duck behind the couch before something catches on fire man i'm i'm i'm older than i realize i am i think back to it

michael joyce is way out west he's a garage sale garage sale is excellent if you've been let down by uh facebook marketplace varage sale primo use victoria of course that's local i don't know yeah facebook marketplace they're and kijiji is kijiji's how you get raped kijiji is how you get your nuts kicked in in an alley by a dumpster you go for not only that but if you're trying to sell on kijiji you put it out and you'll say like it's a red chair and it's now available and people will go is it available and they'll be like what color is it to the chair and the people will be like what kind of furniture is it you're like oh my god and then they'll say i'll be there in five minutes to pick it up and then you wait all night they don't show up and then two days later they're like where were you i showed up this morning like what's happening ah users it's a folder not a novel says michael joyce what are we talking about city uh board game bliss or some other canadian board store 401 board game was you know what i was between us between just us just you and me and my 14 000 subscribers i was a bit let down by my my mission to 401 games on saturday it seemed really cleaned out maybe it's just the time of year but uh remember i don't know if you know the history of 401 but i used to live in the city and they were down the street for me so they used to be down at uh just north of gerard and there's a tiny little cramp store and they only had a couple shells

but they went up to the ceiling games were always threatening to fall on you it was great then they moved to their new location and oh my god it was glorious they had a gameplay space in the basement and they had so many shelves and so many games and then they moved to this third location where it's a lot more petered out and the first thing you see when you walk in the door you've got monopoly and trouble and clue and risk and all the parker brothers stuff and they never used to really prominently display that but i think what they found is there's not a lot of us who like really complicated games i mean there seems to be when you're in the hobby but really like my number one video is still katan and my number two video is katan cities and knights so you know they're doing what they got to do to keep the lights on the doors open i respect that but as somebody i mean it's a different experience when you go if you've been a board game bliss in person oh my god it's amazing it's like uh it's like a warehouse and they got floor-to-ceiling stacks of shelves and and uh they've just got everything they've got german import stuff and they got a special spot with special fancy dice and they've got promos and bins that's what i really like is being able to find you know those really hard to get promos and and things like that it's great i just saw pics of the new gaming goat in las vegas where they had crates of either fields tainted grail gloomhaven all in master pledge boxes and just tons of crap never see that here yeah that's another great thing a when bliss will do that bliss will get

like the deluxe versions like they'll you know that pledge you see at the bottom of kickstarter where you know you can pay 100 bucks for the game or you can pay 500 bucks for five copies of the game and that's meant for retailers bliss will go in on some of those so you sometimes you go i think up until very recently i don't know if it's still there but i've thought about it you could get liz boa with the uh i shouldn't tell you this because i want to go buy it you get liz boa with the the kickstarter bonuses and stuff in it so they'll do that i love it when they do that do that do that more back to this i think i can get out of the what is happening folder because i figured out what is happening a spot on a later turf spot on the later on a later turn i think right here and then pop that bad guy off right here i think that conveys what we're trying to say about this mechanic they say you know it's space invaders they bump up against the barricades get rid of the barricade of the villain and then somebody comes through an empty gap that's it you lost the game let's see so one of your barricades you get i think right at that point just to make it make sense and i wouldn't do this until edit pass b but just so it makes sense while you're looking at it

i would put my little finger just so it has more of a feel of like you know when in the roadrunner and coyote cartoons when they like freeze frame and they pause on him and then he keeps going i think that's kind of what i have to do here to make it make visual sense effect controls effects hand

with your barricades you get yeah that's a little bit better that looks a bit more deliberate than just stopping in the middle of a sequence one of your barricades you get rid of the big arcades you get rid of the barricade and the villain but that leaves the atomic slab wide open if a different villain gets through that spot on a later the building turn through that spot on a later return so what i'm missing here is the truck if you'll notice if you watch up here the truck blips i think right here i need the next picture of the truck so six nine nine five seven

now you can have this boa i have my eyes on on mars i don't know if my camera can focus down there but you might see oh no you can't over this over this shoulder is my it's deeper than a shelf of shame it's like a shelf of abject shame and embarrassment where among other things publishers have sent me games eagle griffin sent me a bunch of games and on mars was my christmas present from my wife cheryl and now we're in july i haven't opened any of the eagle griffin games including on mars and i feel sad about it you need the kool-aid man's oh yeah as he busts through the barricades yes but copyright gets through that spot let me just get this uh this truck in here b shots b05 but yeah that's how that's how the humor in these videos comes i'm just like you know be funny kool-aid man i'll be like oh yeah i'm gonna throw it in there uh but when i work on client projects i have found that most of my feeble attempts at humor um get gently massaged out of the process by the end of it and so generally i don't attempt humor in the commissioned videos anymore dave dave just politely requested that i change a joke in his distilled video which of course i gladly did he's a paying client no problem

but i've saved that in my bloopers so if you're a patron that's gonna show up in one of the blooper reels uh soon my humorous transgression six nine nine seven six nine nine six nine nine five and eight oh my lord this is already getting very very messy 6997 boom let's do that nope all right yeah you're right i had an unexpected it gets through that it's because i trimmed it too late right here off

so i'm doing some slap dash work because i feel like i'm being watched villain but that leaves the villain gets if it did different villain different villain village i ate different different villain gets through that spot on a later turn when you lose the game that's fine i'm happy with that i'll keep that and then i'll cut here and i'll delete this and i'll take all this and i'll hit alt down and drop it all down so that's all part of the same sequence because i can't have it all willy-nilly on different layers because i mentioned earlier that one of the processes i go through is to brighten up all the graphics and that's just a big copy paste slog and i just do it to the bottom layer of of stuff on that first track so if i have and so i know if i look at this if it's not on that bottom layer i know it's something like a finger and i don't need to add the colorization to the finger so that's why it's really important for me to make sure that anything that needs to be color treated at the end is just along that first track if it happens that i do some sort of weird correction or whatever and i have a clip on the second track that also needs to be colored what i'll do to indicate to myself is i'll right click it and i'll hit label and i'll make it tan that's just my my

reserve color for like oh this needs colorization added to it to match what's beneath it uh but that's not the case you get rid of the barricade and the villain but that leaves the atomic slab wide open if a different villain gets through that spot on a later turn will you lose the game feels like i just spent half an hour on 10 seconds that's another thing i mentioned once it's nice once i get the the audio track in there because i'm able to scroll out this is the the zoom so you can like go right in and it focuses right in on your playhead so you can get right in tight on what your playhead is selected on so if i pull all the way out and i click at the very end i can see that the entire video is going to be about about nine minutes long unlike that that's comforting and nine minutes as you know is much shorter than most of the videos that i do on the channel usually uh how to play video runs like you know 15 to 20 minutes so this is going to be a nice zippy project to get through which is one of the reasons i wanted to stream me going through the process or part of it anyway the next shot is so this stuff should go quickly the easiest way to defeat a villain is just to match one of the dicey world to its number so i'll pull in all the footage from b06

these are the separate shots i'll put it on my timeline click it go to effect controls fifty percent i'm just fine there's only four shots in this one so i'll find the spots or make sense to break and show new pictures the easiest way to defeat a villain that's you this is uh welcome this is a premiere pro adobe premiere pro um if you're interested in something like this i wouldn't recommend going for the full subscription for premiere pro because the adobe software gets really expensive um but they have like 100 version i think called premiere pro elements that i think is excellent this has all kinds of bells and whistles that you'll never use like you're not going to do matte tracking neither am i right but premiere pro has transitions and you can cut and you can layer video and it's it's great i recommend it and i think it's priced well for you know consumers and i don't use that word disparagingly i'm we're all consumers it's all good the easiest way to defeat a villain is just to match one of the dice you ruled to its number so this villain has a four so that's where i would highlight the villain and one of the dice you rolled was a four so right so every single time i hey say hwa this i hope the client is okay with that because i do it a whole lot your numbers up now you can't use that diet defeat any other bad guys it's used up

it it's and then i say used i'll pop it off guys it's used up oh why does he disappear he shouldn't disappear it's used up there we go to defeat this villain you can add two numbers together so if you add three plus two you get five and there is the who ah very scent of a woman of me get five take five get it and i'll pop the dice out when i say evildoer you get five take five evildoer you can use me i'm gonna go okay this villain is a 10. you can multiply two times five so b07 is our next sequence our next shot b07 let me bring the footage in there are the three different pictures again this is like an amalgamation of the three pictures and it's already in there because that watchtower software i use um it will either pull all the images in individually or it'll pull them all into sequences but it won't do both i've asked the the creator to make it do both in a checkbox and he said no why would you ever want to do that and i told him why and i told him about this whole process and he said you are dumb essentially i refuse oh this shot's very blurry uh oh had some focus issues here let's try it oh geez oh no this is a retake situation

look how blurry that is i can't put that in the video that sucks so what i will do is on my script which looks like this uh we're on b07 so i'll just put down here pickups b07 and b01 which is a complicated shot so it sucks that i have to do that again pickup just means redo so that stinks but i guess you should get your focus right right and so i'll right click this and hit label and hit blue color it blue just so that i know it's screwed up and actually i'll replace the clip with the common blue the reason i do that is so that i can really easily just you know at the beginning of the timeline i'll be like where are all the places where i need to put the pickups i'll hit find control f i'll hit blue fine it'll jump me right to something that's blue you can also adjust it so that if the name contains blue or like if the label is blue you know what i mean so either way just to cover both bases i just call it blue and i make it out of the blue clip just so it makes it easier for me to find things

matu says i've had premier in the past but it's quite pricey i've tried a few free alternatives but haven't found anything with the features are robust enough to do what i want i'm trying blender blender i can tell you stories about blender check out davinci resolve and see if that or tell me if you've already used it and it's it's no good for you but that's what a lot of people are recommending now is a is a free premiere pro surrogate no mark's asking if blender is more of a cg maker blender is crazy mark you it's a game engine you can design games in it you can make 3d art as you say an animation you can edit videos in it and there's another there's another use for it that's like really wacky that you wouldn't expect maybe it's like an audio editing thing i don't know it's just this weird frankenstein i mean the cool thing too is that all of the keystrokes you learn and there's a lot of them in blender uh transfer to each mode that the software is in but getting there learning that stuff is is really really challenging oh man my my blender stories i'll maybe i'll tell you maybe i'll tell you a second let's see what this next segment is you rolled a two a three and a six and you're targeting this villain two plus three is five and five times 6 is 30. okay so that is section number

section number bo7 should have known that it's all in order isn't it i don't know why i have to look footage b shots b07 oh was b07 yeah b07 was the okay you rolled a two a three and a six so that's going to be b08 presumably so i'll go into my bin i'll bring in the shots of it here they are hopefully my focus is good on these yeah that looks better

you rolled a two a three and a six and i would highlight them as you know two plus three is five and five times six is thirty whoa so right on the wow we'll get rid of the villain it's 30. now that that's what i call all crunching numbers

all right well don't forget subtraction and then right there usually after i tell a joke or i'm saucy or something like that one of the transitions i like to use which you've seen in my videos is a a wipe with you've seen this white before so i'll throw this wipe on it's going to be a horizontal wipe so right now this is what it looks like uh wait i got to get the i got to get the picture that it's transitioning to or else it's not going to look like anything let me just bring in the b09 stuff b09 there's the three shots for b09 right so the transition looks like this currently right it's very very slow um so what i'd do to make it kind of snappier because i was raised on things like beakman's world i don't know if you've ever seen beekman's world but i like like whenever somebody like or like johnny bravo you know whenever you move your finger or turn your head you know or like weird eli yankovic in his fat video that's what i'm into i wear my uh influences on my sleeve so what i'll do is i'll take this and the border color will be white so now this is what it looks like with a whiteboard uh it didn't work i fix effect controls so it'll be white oh yeah and the border width instead of 0 will be 12 because i use 12 12 point lines for everything and it's going the wrong way for some reason i like it going right to left instead of left to right because it's jarring and weird we read left to right so we don't like things that go right to left

so i'll hit reverse where's reverse right there so now it's going that way well don't forget so then i'll also add to make it just kind of like punchier i'll go up to my audio folder and i have a bucket full of wishes here are all my wishes you get three whooshes uh and the one i have is different this is gonna sound so tough i have different wishes for different situations so um wishes wishes 12 to 18 are my standard wishes so let me here whoosh 12 sounds so stupid is like a good honest earthy wush um that's you know all purpose is great listen listen fine it's quiet it's you know unimposing whoosh iv is an abrasive punchy whoosh and that's the wish that you'll hear when i'm like let me show you how to play and it like it's like a crash wish and it goes into like the the the flyover at the beginning of the video so here's what wish 4 sounds like and you'll recognize it from my other videos i just have to place it so it's in the right spot here we go right you know it's more like a i know it's got that quality to it so that's when i use that if i've told a joke or have done something saucy i will put a wish 19 in there which is more like a swishy piercing sword whoosh and it's

just a little bit more slicey and i kind of like i don't know for me it acts like a like a kind of like a drum fill kind of thing when i've said something silly crunching numbers well don't forget you know does that make any sense i know it sounds weird when i'm saying it out loud because maybe i don't know that's i don't know that's what i'll do one more time here we go numbers well don't forget subtraction yeah and that starts in a little bit too early so i will select it all and give it like a i don't know five frame well don't forget subtraction that's a little bit better it's less less hurried four mine is great it's weird man don't don't do this if you're self-conscious i don't recommend it it's it's very nerve-wracking and you have to explain the stupid ways you do things for reasons blender sounds like fun it's more all right it's frank frankenstein actually blender is the name of the doctor that created the monster there seemed to be a lot of interest when i opened up blender for one of my videos so why don't i just i'll tell you my blender stories right now i don't know if they're very interesting but versions and versions will go a blender now keep in mind it's a volunteer team working on this it's an open source project so you're not paying any money so if it

stinks tough nuts right luckily it it doesn't stink but there's certain things you have to get uh very used to one of the earlier versions that i used i was mystified by it because it had this this is what you would get uh though sorry actually it would look like it would look like uh like this you would just see this gray square on the screen and i've already given it away that that's a cube but you wouldn't be able to tell because it would only give you one viewport and if you've ever used 3d studio max that's what i cut my teeth on or 3d studio you would get viewports you get four viewports one would show a perspective view then you get top down left and right and so you get much more of a sense that you were in a piece of 3d software from that but in the few versions ago in blender you'd open it up and you click and this this thing the circle would just go wherever you clicked you'd be like what the hell you didn't even get a sense that you were looking at 3d something until you were able to put more viewports in and to put more viewports in there was a hidden menu bar at the top of the screen and i didn't figure out any of this until i bought a book a blender for dummies and i was reading it going like what the hell you say and i really i like that no way and these guys like what you gotta do is put the mouse up at the top of the screen and hold shift alt and click and drag down and that pulls down like a divider bar that shows the menus because the menus weren't even on the screen and i was just like are you

kidding me and then you'd be able to put multiple viewports on there and then you'd be able to see the 3d thing the deal is in order to select something they had you using the right button so to select the square the cube you'd hit the right button not the left button and everything else is left clicking and then um like you'd have to i don't know use all these weird keyboard shortcuts in order to like click it and like actually see that it was 3d so it's a 3d i swear it's a 3d piece of software like that this is the craziest thing and then to actually move something around so you'd be clicking here and that cursor would follow but if you figured out that you could right click and select something they've changed that now if you wanted to move it around like in 3d studio max you just click and like drag and move the thing around not so in blender you want to know how you move something in blender before i tell you advanced warning you're going to be angry to move something in blender you you press the g key and then you can move it around you say ryan why do you press the g key well my friends because g stands for grab it's the stupidest is that not the stupidest thing you've ever heard in your life and like the software is built around that g for grab so if you hit g and you want to constrain it to one of the axes so you only want it to move along the y axis you tap y and that constrains it so now we're only moving it along

the y axis right click to cancel hit g hit x and now you're constraining along the x-axis hidgey hits zed and now constraining its motion along the z-axis if you want to scale it you hit s for scale well that makes sense and there's none uh there's uniform scale uh and i forget how to do oh yeah if you want to do non-uniform scale if you just want to scale it along the x-axis boom like that the red one is always x if you want to do it along the y axis i think to do it along x and y but not z you hold down shift z which means i don't want z i just want x and y if you just wanted like x and z you'd hold down shift y so now it's only doing x and z so it's that kind of thing i can't believe i'm remembering all this stuff on the spot if you actually want to edit the thing you hit tab and now you're in edit mode and the neat like all these keyboard shortcuts they're laid out really really intelligently and the reason why you were selecting with the right mouse button instead of the left mouse button is because a lot of the the the philosophy of the design of blender was so that they didn't want your hand to tire out uh so they didn't want people using it to get rich repetitive strain disorder which you can really get on 3d software so they made it so that when you have a 3d object there are a

few different pieces of the construction so the little dots are called vertices singular vertex if you say vertexes i will have you hanged if i ran the world you would hang by cracky so those are what the dots are and then the lines that connect the dots are called edges so if i hit two now i'm selecting edges and if i hit three i'm selecting the broad planes in between the edges called faces so i can select different faces if i wanted to move any of these it's just like moving an object so if i hit g well now i'm moving that vertex around and if i hit x now i'm constraining the vertex along the if i grab this one g and hit y now it's constrained along the y axis so that's and that goes you know for anything else if i hit three and then i select a face and i hit g to grab now i'm moving that whole face if i want to constrain to y i hit y now it's only going along in the y now now if i want to get super fun and i want to start adding geometry to this it's a bunch of different ways to do it but one of the easiest ways is i've got this face selected and i hit e and that's to extrude it so now i've extruded that and i've extruded that and i clicked this and i've extruded that and i clicked this and i've extruded that right so you've got much more of an interesting shape going on there for whatever you want to do um

this isn't what i'm supposed to be doing right now but if i wanted this to be split it used to be you could only you could only work with 3d objects if uh if you're working with triangles so you can picture what's actually going on here is that there's three vertices here here and here and just drawing a triangle between them and then there's this one this one and this one and it's drawing a triangle between that but blender is a lot more forgiving and i think 3d software modern 3d software is a lot more forgiving in that they'll let you move a multi-edge an n-gon around but if i want to select this edge and make it more give it more vertices i can do that i can subdivide it and now it's got like you know and i can and again there's a bazillion different ways to to work with geometry in blender this is not necessarily what you'd want to do it depends on what you're building right so you know and then but you know if you're doing a board game insert a lot of what you want to do is right click and you would say inset faces so here and then extrude instead of pulling it out you pull it down so it's like oh now i got a bucket and that's where i can put you know that's where i can stick my finger in and grab resources one of the things i'm always going on about with 3d design for board game inserts is i really like i think plastic has a huge advantage over wood and foam core because you can scoop the edges so to do that you would hit two grab that guy and hit shift to grab that

guy so i've got those two inside edges i hit ctrl b to bevel and when you move it around you can change the size of the bevel and when you spin your uh your mouse wheel you can increase so that's me spinning my mouse wheel up and down so you can increase or decrease the number of faucets that are in that bevel and click and look at that i got a really beautifully scooped bottom that i can pull board game resources out of isn't that cool so you don't need to know what was that five minutes you don't need to know a whole lot to get started if you want to do something as simple as inserts for board games it's it's pretty good there's more to know of course there's always more to know but that's a little bit of a interlude a diversion into blender but you probably 12 minutes ago said yeah i re used resolve for a while and i did like it a lot but it kept crashing on me and then it wouldn't update i've got a pretty good pc yeah i can't comment i don't use it i don't know uh mark says it's the other good piece piece of editing advice do good online course yeah for sure i learned so much from doing a really good final cut course that set me up nah you'll learn everything not necessarily online something you can refer back to and do your own speed so one great resource is lynda.com which i think was bought out by linkedin but my local library has has free access to all lynda.com videos so with my library card number i can log into lynda.com and

watch courses for anything so they've got really great professional design courses or if you can stomach it and wade through it there are people on youtube that won't necessarily give you a nice structured prescribed course of study like lindo will do but if you really want like the other day i really wanted to learn how to make sort of like vhs style track lines to do this rewind effect that i wanted in a video so i went to youtube for that specific piece of knowledge and the guy walked me through it really well doing so much talking how many hours have i been streaming one is three three times six is eighteen who uh no it's this one yeah mark says his was land of course too they do pretty well i like it depends uh you can get good teachers and bad teachers there but i'm pretty impressed with the quality and impressed that i don't have to pay for it that my well i guess my property taxes are getting sent to the library and they're buying the subscription for me you really did a number on him

on number i constantly want to show these dice disappearing to reinforce the idea that you don't get to keep the dice to keep fighting backwards but what do you do if you're playing hero mode and you need to get up to some really big numbers b10

um fx 50 scale itself 3 squared is 3 to the power of 2. three times three is nine did you hear that cool sound effect uh i felt really dumb just going power it up in the voiceover so i decided to add some funky funky phaser sounds on it times three is nine four squared

and then show the die going away and then transition to the next one b11 b11 transition four squared is four to the power of two i know what four times four is sixteen i just did that because if kids are watching this in their school i just want them running around all day going cool just just to annoy their teachers um b12 or like like for the rest of the year in math class whenever they get a question right and amateur fully artist to your resume amateur i make money on these videos damn it not very well almost damaged semi-am semi-pro no i love foley i love doing sound effects or stuff that's a great resource too one of the places i go for sound effects is freesounds.org and a lot of the times i get uh my free pictures from pixabay because i want to do everything on the level and i'm not at a point where i'm making so much money that i've got like shutter stock dollars so those are two great sites freesounds.org and pixabay.com for pictures 6 squared

is 6 to the power of 2. 6 times 6 is 36. 36 divided by 2 is 18. get it right on the whoa whoa five squared and then transition to the next one so i'm going to do a bunch of stuff with the font at this point where i'm going to show the actual digits and show the exponent in there which you'll see if you watch this one when it's done b13 you'd be like i saw him working on that it looks better now basically it sucks until it doesn't right oh i've used the wrong pictures here p13 hear that toilet so that's another thing like whenever i shoot stuff i have to we have to turn off the air conditioning because it's super loud down here and nobody can walk around you might have heard somebody up there walking around and nobody can use the phone or go to the bathroom five squared oh that's so blurry oh i hope i have another shot that's not as good oh thank god five squared is five to the power of two what's your next bits please project thank you for asking i'm glad i'm glad you're asking i got stuck a little bit but since you're here on the live stream you know what i'll show you a little preview and when i stand up you'll realize i'm wearing pajama pants as always

the box is not in the place i expected it to be but i have two that i'm working on currently and i've taken a very long time three that i'm working on currently underwater cities so i'm creating uh special tunnels for it and player pieces that are much better than than the like the cardboard chits that they have you placing that i joke in the video or look like robot doors or whatever they're supposed to be so underwater city's food chain magnet i'm making custom restaurant pieces for food chain magnet among other things they look really cool and the third one is merchants and marauders so i'm gonna paint up my ships and i'm making do i have one of those around at least no usually this stuff is just littering littering my desk but i cleaned it up lately and uh put everything in boxes i'm not too sure where the boxes are now i don't know that you've caught me by surprise uh but yeah i i i did a bunch of stuff for fuji man and for uh for merchants marauders i'm making hopefully if they work um little treasure chests that you can open with a key i didn't model them but i'm scaling them down quite a bit they're supposed to be really big like this big but i'm making them this big and so there are some scale problems with them at that size 5 times 5 is 25. 25 plus 6 is 31.

oh why is he still there oh there we go and then just before we crack out of that shot i'll show the dice going away because i think that's important to gameplay every player so this is where i talk about uh the hero powers in the game egalitarian so there might not actually be a lot to look at at this part of the game because uh oh yeah michael joyce finally finished that arnac insert and then they announced the expansion i'm with you but i'm hoping that the designer there's a little bit of room in that box right but you know what i just did a couple days ago when i went to 401 i didn't find anything interesting to to spend my ill-gotten money on i bought a couple of packs of sleeves because i think that i think i don't sleep a lot of games but i think arnax is an important one to leave because it's a deck builder and with so few cards if one gets a nick then it could be the pits so i sleeved our knack i was going to say there's a lot of room in that insert but once you sleeve it there ain't the artifacts box and the tools box are stuffed to the brim and almost couldn't fit all the sleeve cards in them so but i hope that unser family can come up with a solution he's really talented man that that insert was awesome blew my mind and he's cool too i i've been talking to him

on on thingiverse so maybe i'll appeal to him but you had to know there was an expansion coming out for arnak didn't you like was that a shock you use sleeve kings eh is that better i used what did uh what did 401 sell me i forget what their sleeves are called but they always want me to buy them and they're they've got the most of them pro sleeve pro something pro i don't know i'm not in the sleeve community all right right working here we are working b14

b14 b14 i was going to tell you what's going on man it's been a busy month man i did uh just finished up distilled i'm working on this now and just before distilled i did a dungeoning kingdom so that's why you haven't seen like bits please takes a little bit of effort to put together so that's why you haven't seen any bits please stuff on the channel this month i was trying to do one every single month but this month has been challenging egalitarian gets to change one die to the same number as another so by changing this one to equal this four to equal this four he can defeat this 4 villain

then pop off the die right there and you can multiply 4 by 5 to get 20 to defeat this one we have zero tolerance for just evil that one that's probably not i have fun b15 b15 yeah different different clients have different tolerances for uh humor in their game i i hope i hope these guys dig the scant jokes in here but but generally and i can understand why like they they're trying to get uh schools as their clients they're trying to sell this through to among other people's schools and schools as you know are humorous voors they don't like jokes very much and we'd hate we'd hate for schools to think that a game about math is enjoyable or fun so let's let's downplay humor as much as we possibly can i just why i just watched pink floyd's of the wall over the weekend so we don't need no education it's stuck in my head gets to turn the die to its up steve kings are like 60 micron oh yeah like if you're measuring micron so you're already way

more into sleeves than i have uh so they're heavier than penny sleeves but slimmer than premiums it's a nice balance yeah i don't really know the difference i got what i think are penny sleeves because they're like really really really flimsy and i was like i don't want to put anything in these things these feel like junk so maybe that's what it was they were penny sleeves sleeves of muck with your video stills though that's the thing i didn't want to sleeve our knack because i have every intention of doing a solo playthrough of arnac but i worried that the sleeve would make it too glossy on the table so i'll have to do a couple of tests and see if that's the case i think that's going to be the case and i'm going to have to like unsleeve our knack shoot the video sleeve it all and put it away it should be a pain in my ass i turned on a really bad movie while i sleeped ironic the other day it was terrible it was a really bad really bad movie i just wanted something where i could turn my brain off but it was really it was really bad and here digitizer gets to turn a die to its opposite face and here's a secret about dice and teaching the kids the secrets about dice everybody where are my dice shots so we're on b15 we're gonna go over to cu presumably two cu2 b shots footage c shots co2 yes

about dice two opposite sides always add up to seven so the flip side of a two isn't i didn't stop motion animate the die flipping because i did it in the in the dice forge video because it's just a lot easier to do when the die is big but even then it was really tough because it was small enough that it was challenging but i could have stopped motion animated this die flipping but it would be really super challenging and i don't know if it would be worth the effort i'll at least transition that co3 cuo3 i'm not even checking to see how many people are watching the stream so i could be talking to no one and that's fine people catch it in the replay but the flip side of a one is this it remember and i've said earlier in the stream this is not meant to be an entertaining stream by any means it's informative see so so back to p15 man this is just the start i had so many ideas for different types of streams i could do this was just one of them story time was going to be another adventure night which i mentioned on the last stream i'm really excited about so if digitizer is fighting this 24

villain she can flip this three to a to a four no one three to a four it does not flip let's try that again three to a four nope oh i know what happened with a bunch of these i use a uh i use a remote shutter button when i do the photography and this one has a breaky in it so when i hit the button it was like it would take like 20 pictures in a row but no as i'm trying to get the button unstuck so a couple of these shots there's a bunch of identical photos so i just have to find the one where it finally uh

there we go and then multiply four by six to get 24. 86 the m1 robot can knock one or two well good michael is crafting switch configs switch configs like capital s switch or small s switch switch configs you have to tell me what that means are you an electrical engineer michael

mark says there's eight people watching at the moment but one of them is me what do you mean but one of them is you you're you're worth eight stream viewers i don't know the m1 robot now i had to ask the client what they preferred for this guy this uh one of the characters you can play is a robot named m1-nu5 so it spells minus because his power is subtraction but i was like do you want me to say m1-nu5 or like what do you want me to say so i think we settled on m1 robot find by me and again you're not seeing the hero cards because i'm going to add those in edit pass b that's a completely separate step of the process if you're just tuning in this is the process so we are right here in edit pass a and all the tracing and stuff and the uh the cards flying around the screen and things like that that's all edit pass b why did i close that the m1 robot can knock one or two off a number powering up this five by squaring it makes it 25 and subtracting two from that gets you 23 to defeat this villain so there's going to be like a lot of font work right i'm going to have to show all those digits and they've got a comic book font for me to use and off comes to die now he's taking 40 weeks

i was amazed at how many number-based one-liners i was able to come up with for this video amazed and impressed frankly but i eventually ran out and so one of the jokes later on in the video is i've run out of number based moderators and then i came up with another one but it's like a really old one from like the 1920s that nobody's gonna know do you know have you heard it's like a great gatsby have you heard of 23 skidoo if i said ah 23 skidoo at you would you know what i meant by that tell me in the chat oh switch networking man michael says yes of course switches that makes sense derp great divides power lets you re-roll any or all of your dice big plus gets to add one to something by adding one to this three he can defeat this villain your days are numbered and multi did i already say that one no right that's the one i repeated and then i cut it and then i moved it to a different spot in the script i hope i didn't say that twice oh mark knows what 23 skidoo means is it a britishism mark you gotta tell me so if i said yeah 23 skadoo what would you do or what would you think i was intending for you to do and multiple can double the value once per turn so

you have to say to that voice too 23 skidoo 18 americanism daddy oh okay so is it like a gatsby era thing i think it is when i looked it up it were like pictures of like really old looking comic strips with people and top hats and stuff and multiple can double without you but what does it mean you still haven't told me what it means and you're not allowed to google it you have to tell me what it means and you can just guess because while i'm laughing if you make a wrong guess it'll be funny so to defeat this villain multiple can add three plus five to get eight and then double that eight to get sixteen sounds like i'm barfing sixteen this is another one where i think it took too many too many pictures maybe not

how many more number based yeah so this is where i make the joke about not having any more one-liners left it comes in a little too hot let's adjust the timing how many more number based one-liners could i think of zero

you got it from mad magazine yeah that'd be a place where you get it oh you thought it was like wow or oh boy a pair apparently 23 skidoo means scram so i'm like hey wait what do you think you're doing 23 sk i mean like get the half out of here kind of thing apparently i mean that i don't know i'm not an expert on the usage of 1930s comic slang but i wish i was uh b19 b19 right so this is a situation where b19 is blank i think i know why because i didn't uh i didn't slate it i didn't use my little slate to write down shot b19 and the b19 images are in the b18 folder right because you see how these look different these three look like different shots in these three so there's b19 thank god i didn't wreck it put that on my timeline it's really nice too like at this point i'll be like oh my god how much more is there and you're probably thinking the same thing i'll pull out i'll be like oh look there's only so i'm like two thirds of the way through edit pass a minus the pickups that i have to do where i messed up cool

there's one more thing to know that will give you and your teammates the edge it's the meaning of 23 skidoo if you defeat a villain on a yellow space you get to draw a bonus power card you can save this power for later here or use it immediately bonus powers do all kinds of helpful things like letting you defeat a villain with a number divisible by five this is or defeat a villain with a prime number on it a prime number is any number that's divisible only by one and itself so seven is a prime number so i think i have to defeat the villain on a yellow space you get to draw a bonus power card you can save this right here on a feed a villain and i'll drop the die on space feed a villain on a yellow space so i like this in edit pass a when there's lots to do for edit pass b on the sequence but not lots to do and if it's like punting the work to future ryan so i think i can skip this whole section because there's no more pictures here so that's feature me's problem let's say this villain is about to break into the atomic lab on the next turn so b20 b20 b shots b20

oh hello face that stairs creating a board game with ryan i thought you know what i thought about doing that i thought about creating a whole like purchasable linda style like uh instructional thing for how to make a board game from just from concept to paper prototyping to how to run a play test properly you know to how to pitch to a publisher or how to self-publish all that stuff which i've never done myself but i thought oh so i've never done it myself so to be able to know how to teach it i would have to do it and then to do it i might as well involve my audience and like not crowdfunded but you know i mean like crowdsource it so that we all came up with what the board game was which would be a horrible mess because designed by committee never works well but it sounded like such a huge huge project now this is creating a board game video not with ryan but just i'm just working so i'm streaming while i'm putting this thing together this is a video for a game called outnumbered by geniusgames who you know from genotype and periodic and other titles let's save it and i'm in premiere pro and i'm almost at the end of edit pass a which is the process where i'd drop in all the photographs that i've taken like a jigsaw puzzle let's say this villain is about to break into the atomics lab on

the next turn unless you do something about it that does not appear to be the situation here does it 23 down number 20 yeah i guess so have the numbers to defeat it try defeating a villain on a yellow on a yellow space instead because the bonus power you draw could help you defeat that villain that's where i show the and card right here the face of stairs i was explaining that uh there's different processes or different uh yeah chunks to this process and this is edit pass a so when i'm talking about specific cards i won't i won't have to bring them onto the screen until i'm doing edit pass because it just makes things faster to do it that way no that's wrong what's going on here hmm he should be going not the dice oh i see why right so we've already gotten rid of the dice because we used it to get the villain on the yellow space and he doesn't disappear with the hwa until here nope uh yeah no that's right hold on on the yellow space

there it is i thought of one more when the truck reaches fun up to b21 b21 b21 sarah yeah the freeze structure is really useful when making that tree structure hmm which tree structure yeah i believe you i don't know what you mean by tree structure do you just mean like getting more refined as you go one more when the truck reaches the last

more when the when the oh i see i see i see so what we're supposed to do is this one and it goes to this one when the truck reaches when the truck reaches the last space the final assault begins

yeah branches and smaller branches than leaves yeah it's it's sort of like that i demonstrated the um the process behind taking a screenshot of something i needed traced bring it into another piece of software called adobe animate tracing the outline adding a glow dropping the background exporting it as a ping bringing it back into premiere and dropping it on the timeline and i just basically said that if i was doing that at the same time as being in these folders and dropping the pictures in it's just so much back and forth and you know if you've ever done anything like like it's like the the assembly line was amazing innovation because if you just get one person doing one thing you're way faster at doing that one thing all day than if you were putting the tires on a car and painting a door you know i mean just get like one guy paints the door one guy puts the tire on um so that's that's just an assembly line process it's the slot the photos in and then go back and do all the tracing stuff go back and do all the actually i do all the tracing stuff and animate the cards in at the same time just because i don't want to miss anything and because sometimes the animations of the cards need highlights that make sense from then on the villains b22 out of all begins from then on the villains keep advancing

i think this is one with an animation am i right effect control is 50. what's happening here yes oh that looks fun i might slow that down but let's see how it looks the villains keep advancing on every turn no i want them down on the word advancing the villains keep actually i want them down on it the advance of advancing the villains keep advancing yeah a little bit earlier a couple frames earlier keep advancing on every turn that looks pretty good right um so i mentioned before that if i if i leave that up on the on the on the second layer that when i go back and do my color processing i'll miss it and i'll forget to colorize it so i have to make sure i delete these and drop these down into the first layer so it doesn't get missed in the color color treatment process dancing on every turn but you don't deal any new villains out to the board for the rest of the game and if you're playing in hero mode you don't draw any more event cards i show the event kurds if the villains advance and one or more now we're under the new shot b23 and notice how it goes down to 33 and i'm on 23 and it skips it goes 23 24 25 31. well let me show you the reason for that uh footage i go to slates uh do i have the slate in here maybe not

just basically i'm bad with numbers and i miscounted when i made my tally marks so i skipped 10 10 tallies b 20 what were you just doing 23 be 20 no we weren't we're doing 22 23 it's a little bit tedious and i can work about an hour before my bottom begins to hurt and then i need to stand up and stretch and go have a snack this isn't the most conducive chair conducive to not dying if the villains advance and one or more bad guys so this would be another animation of him breaking through stop motion animation people have asked before earlier in the stream how i do that bit and it's just take a picture move the thing take a picture move the thing you know stop motion whoa guys breaks through yeah that's fine but i can't get rid of the truck at the end i got to put the truck there and then i'll get rid of that last frame of that animation

and then on the word steel we'll get rid of the truck and as before we got to drop this animation down it's a little fast i wonder what it looked like if i slowed it down so right click go to speed hit 50 percent speed see if that's any better guys breaks through an empty gap your yeah it's a little less your defenses hyper villains steal the infinity generator and you lose and in the end i might go to the sound effects site and grab like a yoink or some sort of fun comic bookie sound effect for when the truck gets stolen but if you wipe out all this is the next shot but 24.

hey i didn't skip 10 i confused it with upside down 01. that's exactly it yeah you come back in time and tell my grade 2 math teacher that it's funny to me that i'm working on a video for a math game because i am horrendous at math like just awful with numbers they freak me out i haven't i'm a numerophobe so what's funny about this game is that it's a game for for children i think for grade schoolers and i'm very bad at math my wife works with numbers all the time and she does accounting all the time but we sat down to play this game and i misread the instructions there's two different decks of villains so you can see on the screen and that shot's a bit blurry i might have to redo it but there are blue guys blue bad guys and purple black guys and the instructions say if you want to make the game harder you use the purple bad guys but what actually says if you read instead of skipping every third word if you read the whole sentence it says shuffle the purple guys in with the blue guys and what i did was i chucked out the blue guys entirely and we played just with the purple guys and the game was balls hard and i didn't know why we weren't able to defeat this game that was made for like eight-year-olds and i felt really i felt worse about my number skills until i went back and figured out that we were playing on like like boss hard level but if you wipe out all the villains but if you i think i can tolerate that if it's a little bit blurry because that shot's only on for like a second but let's see how it looks when we

part of the problem is the software you're like right how could be out of focus don't you have eyeballs well the software that i use um it's annoying it'll you'll put it on focus lock which means don't change the focus and it'll autofocus on you all the time like you know i mean like there's a there's a bug in it or something since that's blurry and the second one's not i'm just gonna start with the second shot instead of the blurry first shot uh and that'll fix it that'll fix it

and if you hit n you're able to just pull these cut lines around wherever you want them in premiere pro yeah that's fine and i'll slow that down too that's way too fast so speed 50 drink do you wipe out all of the villains on the board the new adam lane game eric lang story what's the new eric lane game is it about skipping 10 or is it about grade school math you've won the game you earn 10 points for protecting the infinity generator plus three points for every barricade left standing so on every barricade left i'll go three three three with you know in edit pass b plus another five points if you defeated ultimate zero using dice instead of a bonus power and i'll bring the ultimate zero card up at that point ultimate zero's the big bad guy okay and now here we are in the very last section of edit pass b a i mean we're almost done i'm almost done you don't care it's two dice instead of three use the middle three lanes only the purple deck only yeah yeah exactly hey kids if you want to play on eric lang different i don't i've never played an eric lang game is are his games notoriously difficult are they not for eight-year-olds i don't know cthulhu death may die oh i was just joking about that on the last livestream about the ridiculous uh minifig bloodborne stuff like that

yeah he did what's the uh rising sun too right that's his but i haven't played any of those heard good things about bloodborne though you'll die frequently hilariously sounds good so they're kind of like like uh dark souls the board game is that the idea here we are in the final in the final stretch what are we on

keep playing until you okay so used two days instead of three so this is describing the ultimate baby mode now let me get your opinion on this i was just talking to the client this afternoon um and i was saying something to consider and this is coming from a guy who is very bad at math and numbers or i shouldn't say i'm bad at math i'm not bad at math i'm just afraid and so i think i make more mistakes because i'm i'm afraid of numbers than i would if i wasn't so freaked out about them um so in the in the rulebook which they're i think going to make some tweaks to for the next print run they're doing of this game outnumbered um it says you know for the uh like the for an easier motor for the mode for you know ages four to five or four to six or whatever number they put on it and i said well that's that's presuming that it's it's time math ability to age and like you know i don't know maybe i'm maybe i'm 37 years old and i want to be able to get better with math and this hope this game will help me and i read the book and it's like four-year-olds oh i feel like such a loser i don't know maybe you already know that i was just thinking about people with developmental delay issues or maybe it's not a big deal but what do you think should should the language be changed so that just describes an easier game mode rather than uh for players of a certain age you tell me

maybe i was out to launch on that use two dice instead of you two right when i say the word two i'm gonna switch to use two dice instead of three and then we'll transition to the next thing link cuo5 no it's going to be use the middle als b31

b 31. for the longest time i've been wanting to do a process video that explains all this stuff and shows snippets of memory i still might do it but it just seemed like a whole lot of work and it'd be a much longer video than anyone would watch i don't expect anyone to watch this one either that's fine but use them but it's easier to explain my process just by doing my process in front of

people what happened there oh well that's a pain in the butt isn't it ah that one shot's out of focus i'm gonna have to redo that unless i i mean what i could do maybe this stinks but we'll see use the middle three lanes it's not the worst is it if he starts there i don't know i don't know i'll mark that as a possible retake situation get rid of the

barricades bloodborne was a ps4 game by the same makers as darts dark souls was it no it wasn't oh bloodborne but what did lang do did he do a board game version of bloodborne i thought his was called what was his called blood something i don't know i don't know what i'm talking about all i know is that i gotta go get the shot of the barricades b32

yep get rid okay get rid of the the bear yeah cades get rid of the barricades yeah that's okay get rid of the barricade get rid of the barricades that's fine board game adaptation of the video game bloodborne right that's why i know but what what is this one here i'm gonna go to board genki can look up the name of the game that's driving me crazy well actually list of eric lang games what's the one i'm thinking of

i thought it had blood in the name it is called nope not bloodborne watch it well blood rage is the one i'm thinking of blood rage again haven't played it but use a villain that where very faithful you died i don't know too many board games where you die a lot that i've played but merchants and marauders is one of them where you die a whole bunch and it's fun and hilarious oh and i guess king of tokyo you only really died once in that game but merchants marauders you can die a big pile of times and each time you do it's more hysterical i pulled a big baby hissy fit last time it merges the marauders because the game was not going my way and i was finding it extremely unfun because of it everyone else was getting these random draws and rolls where it's like oh i get an arm full of treasure and then i'd go out and i'd get hung up on a rock and sunk immediately you know it's just part of it was that i i i had such big hopes for that day because it was the first time we were going to play the game with the expansion and all the modules in the expansion i was like i want to be great but uh yeah that that first die roll and my pirate trips on a rock and his head falls off and i was just like this is not fun use a villain deck where none of the numbers goes over 10.

skip the bonus powers huh that's weird that's not the right photo for that use a villain deck where this should all be on oh that's why this should all be on cuo5 and i'm on v33 cu05 as i mentioned before i've got my script off to the side on a different monitor that you can't see so i keep ducking over there to look at to see my the marching orders that past me is provided for myself this is what we want use a villain deck where none of the numbers goes over 10. skip the bonus skip the book skip the bow skip the bonus powers and nick fix them and then and then now we're gonna go b thirty three he's done tons blood rage ankh rising sun are all him yeah he's done he's done tons of games that aren't of the kind that i would play you know like i don't think that his games and i've seen the artwork in them they wouldn't scream out for me to go get them and i think i only own one seam on is it seam honor come on i don't know one of those publishers games in my collection and it's very uncharacteristic i think of that publisher i think it's um

i'm going to cheat and look at my board game shelf it's the one with what's his face lorenzo magnifico is the only one that i own which is not a very eric lang game from what i understand of airplane if any of the villains make it through put them aside so here's another animation

ah i accidentally looked at the concurrent viewers list i don't want to see that it's going to freak me out although if 20 of you were in the room i think i could handle it look at that dunk dunk i should show you i mean i'll i'll do another live stream where i'm actually doing the photography i've threatened to it's going to be way more boring than this if you can believe it um but i have this boom arm that i put my camera on and it's great for being able to position the iphone because when i switched from the at the dslr camera to the iphone one of the biggest workflow changes i had to get used to was the dslr has optical zoom so you can crank the cuff on this on the lens and and the physical lenses do this and getting closer and further away from the thing switching to an iphone iphone doesn't have optical zoom it has digital zoom and so the more you're zooming in the more it's just scaling the picture up right so you can get that's lossy which means it's going to lose quality when you scale past a certain point what point is that i don't know because the software won't show me at what point i'm going past like a 1080p resolution so i can't rely on that mechanism i can't rely on the pinch and zoom thing when i'm taking these photographs because i don't want uh quality loss even though you see like a million

blurry images i'm gonna fix those uh so this boom arm is great because it's just one of those um i don't have it around oh it's like this microphone one right so i put my camera on the end of that and i can like really nicely position it anywhere i want on the table and if i need to get physically closer i can push the camera down and the boom arm gets closer which is awesome for what i do but the drawback is if the bolt isn't really tight on it what happen is when i'm taking these sequential stop motion shots i won't know it but the phone will go slightly like like tiny little bits and i won't know it until i do this process edit pass a and the shot will it'll slowly slowly be creeping down the screen as each sequential photograph gets placed and i'll be like ah damn it and sometimes i can fix it by popping in keyframes and really meticulously changing like by like a fragment of a pixel the position of it on the screen but sometimes it's not salvageable but it looks like that that is what happened here i like kicked the table or something and the and the shot popped down but i think if i get rid of this one it'll look okay yeah yeah it's fine it's fine because they're going off screen anyway so uh so that's this image and remember i need to drop this down to my first track or else i'll forget to color it

let's make it through put them aside on the side or i want it on because there's two of them so i'm going to put them aside put them aside and keep playing you're the goal is to let as few villains through as possible then keep trying to beat your best score if you make it through the whole game without any villains making it through well chances are you're ready to try sidekick mode and that's how you play note number hooray and that message that beep some is is cheryl calling me to do important family stuff so i've been streaming long enough i don't know if that was useful for you if i put it up hopefully uh people will watch bits of that and and learn something about my process or how to use some of these pieces of software i don't know let me know if it's stunk or if you appreciate it and would like to see a few more things like this it's easy content for me to make let me know down in the comments as usual there are three very important buttons that i would like for you to click they are there we go uh there the thumbs up or the thumbs down button the subscribe button and the bell to get notifications when i got new stuff so if you click all of those you'll be up to date on everything that untold entered i told everything that's my software firm knight surround the table is doing uh if you want to join us on the discord server is that working yeah there's the link to the discord server
