Library Shelf 17: Double Double Vision
All [Music] right, folks. Welcome back to the Dice Tours. We take a look at another shelf in the Dice Tower Library. Last time we took a look at a shelf with a lot of little games. This is a shelf that has classic big games on it for the most part. Not all of them, but a lot of games that people like and then some old games on the bottom.
But we'll get to those. Let's start here at the top. First, we start with Gangopoulos, which for a while was incredibly hard to find. They reprinted it finally. It's an engine building game about leaves. Turn in taxis. One of the spielar winners. I'm not a huge fan of it, but hey, if you like games about delivering the mail, this is it.
Bosque, a game that taught everyone who played it a new word. Uh, Galilean Moons. Raccoon Tycoon. I like Raccoon Tycoon of the of the different I didn't keep Lizard Wizard, but Raccoon Tycoon. Just a solid game of quick, snappy turns. Asking for troubles. If you open this box, the whole game is almost colored orange.
It's a good worker placement game. Tracarion. This is the game that kind of put Mine Clash on the map. A lot of people really like this game about illusionists. Next to that, we have Dice Realms. You like Dominion, but you want it for dice. This is your game. AIA, what a great game about shipping. This is a fantastic, terrific game.
I would have two copies probably, but it's a hard game to get a hold of. Darwin's Journey, the Collector's Edition from Thunder Griffith, a very big game, Mythic Mischief, uh, from IV Studios, and then the Everdell group, My Little Everdell, Everddale, and Everddale Farshore. Now, we have the newest Everddale, but it's not up there yet.
We'll see what people think of it when they play it. Shelf 2 is just classic games that people want to play all the time. We have the the new series in the footsteps of Marie Cury in the footsteps of Darwin. Both very popular. Fractured sky from IV studios. Some of the be most beautiful components. A bunch of space games here.
Beyond the sun. Not beautiful components but still a great game. Twilight inscription the roll and right Twilight Imperium. Two copies of SETI. Two copies of Lost Runes of Arnack. Two copies of arcs. Two copies of Root. Very very popular games all them. That's why there's two of each. Then vast, not as popular as its successor, root and a hoy, which a lot of people like from later games.
More popular games down here. Lands of Gowzier, a storytelling game. Distilled, the first Paverson game. Robot Quest Arena. It's kind of a weird place to have this one actually, but I do like this game. I have a soft spot for it. Endless winner from Fantasia Next Unconcious Mind Game and Box there on the shelf.
Two copies of Arnova, one with the expansion. Although, frankly, you should always play with the expansion. Next to the sequel to it, Sanctuary, Wondrous Creatures, two copies of Space Base, because I do like Space Base a lot, and one has everything and one is just a base game. And then the Core of Discovery, the deduction game, cooperative deduction game from Off the Page Games.
Moving down. Now, this is a kind of a weird shelf here. So, we have Tumbling Dice. Um, a game that is often fun to play. is rolling dice on platforms, scoring points, mix of dexterity and luck. Scotland Yard, the classic who you know catch that other person game. Roads and boats, so many pieces. What a weirdized box.
And then there's the schlarter dinosaur. You want to play a miniature game with dinosaurs? That's old timey one from Germany. Well, you got it. Beat the eightball. That's where you roll marbles and you're trying to beat the eightball into the bottom. The faceless. This is a weird game with magnets. We're checking out Nam Nami or I don't know how to pronounce it, but the sequel to Taikaido, Monopoly with all the expansions.
So, I know people don't want to play Monopoly, but if you want to play with those silly expansions, Iron Forest, which is a follow-up to Ice Cool, and Boxtop Pinball Haunted House, which is kind of like Tumbling Dice. Thus, the same shelf. On the bottom, we have Tidal Blades. Oh, beautiful game, but what a ridiculously sized box.
Clue the great museum caper. Even if you don't like Clue, you should try this game out. It's like it's like Scotland Yard. One person stealing paintings, everyone else has to c find him. Mechs versus minions. You want to play this amazing cooperative game. Then Marble Bob slay, a game where you blow marbles down paths.
I'm not kidding. That's what it's about. Then The Witcher Old World, the DC deck building game. I have a lot of different cards in there. Not all of them because that would require an entire shelf. And then Magical Athlete. This is my custom version, but they just released a new version of it. So, we're going to take a look at that one and see if it replaces my custom version.
So far, looking at it, not convinced, but we'll see. My favorite games on each shelf. The top shelf is AIA easily. What an amazing game. Second shelf is STI at the moment. I just really am loving SEI. Fantastic game. Third shelf is Arc Nova. Some of my favorite games are on this shelf. Fourth shelf is where things get a little tricky.
It's Monopoly. No, I'm kidding. It's probably Tumbling Dice. I just love Tumbling Dice. And the bottom shelf, you might be surprised. My favorite game here is The Great Museum Caper. Nope. I forgot Magical Athletes there. Magical Athlete is amazing. What are your favorites? Let me know in the comments.
