Gen Con 2026 Gaming Hall Walkthrough
Transcript
All right, we're back. Uh we are going to do a walkthrough of the gaming hall. Uh and we are just going down escalator here. Uh we've already done the exhibit hall. We did Lucas Oil Stadium. Uh those are in the playlist in the video description if you want to check them out. Thanks everyone leaving the good comments and watching. Much appreciated. So I figured I'd do another one of these walk through for you guys. This time it's the gaming hall and uh we're going to walk there right now. We're close to one of the entrances. Uh it is quite large. It takes up a few halls all joined together in the um in the Indianapolis or Indiana Convention Center, I should say. And we're going to go there now. I was just there playing a Star Wars event, but then I had to run and do something else. So, I'm coming back and uh we'll flip around and we can do another little walk through here. It's just kind of like a central crossing area. Lots of rooms around here and events happening and vendors and music and go walk in the hall. We got to make sure we show our badges to get in the gaming hall just like the exhibit hall. Thank you.
And here we go. All right. So, as you can see way far down there, it keeps going and going on forever. Uh if you watch any of our live streams, you've seen this in the background in the past years when we've uh live streamed from here or played tournaments from here, played events here. Oh, what's this? Oh, we got showcases for Star Wars Unlimited. Very nice. Oh, you can register for these events in the back of the hall. No way. Really? Checkin line. Okay, some people left some stuff here in the gentle rain. All right. So, yeah, this is like the Asthma area as you can see from the little Asay hidden room there. Uh, people are playing games. That's all that's happening in here pretty much. There's some painting and stuff, but we're going to walk up and down the aisles uh like crazy people and just kind of see random stuff being played. Kind of give you guys a a taste of what's going on in the hall.
Kind of like we did for the exhibit hall. Just check stuff out, kind of walk around quickly, take a look at a few things. All the new Arkham Horror scenario being played. Very nice. Very nice.
Yeah. Got some Marvel champions happening in here somewhere.
People also just sitting around resting. It is Sunday so less people are in here. The con closes in like 2 and 1 half hours. So there's less people in here right now. So, a lot of people just park and sit down at some of the tables cuz obviously there's not that many events going on at some of them since it's the last day of the con. A lot of people have left already started their travel home. I don't know what this uh miniatures game is. I'm assume it's like Marvel Crisis Protocol probably. Oh, we got Lana stuff here. Uh yeah, I guess right. Yeah, you'll see lots of like war gaming, tabletop wargaming, card gaming, board gaming going on in here. Got Lorana on the left side here.
And then tons of these cool freaking setups here. Look at this stuff. Going to walk down this little this little row here. No one's around, so I can kind of get close up to some of these terrain setups that look better than anything I could ever put together. That is sick.
Oh man. I'm assuming this is for Star Wars Legion actually what I'm looking at right now. That would be my guess. Oh yeah, definitely. As I see like the Rebel and Imperial symbols spray painted on the side. Some more con over here. Let's see. Yep. Star Wars Legion. Very nice. Luca approves. And here's some players playing.
Very nice alliances. Yeah, usually they'll just have a banner at the end of the table or when you get to an area letting you know what's happening there. We got a atomic mass hate and take happening. Got some Gunsen Battle for Toshi Rambo L5R theme game. Fate of the Fellowship. Love that game. Streamed that a couple times. Good times. One of my favorite games last year. Lord of the Rings. Trick Taken. Just played the first one recently on the channel. Hope to play more of it. And then this one I grabbed uh here at the con. Circle of Conflict. Stay tuned for a playthrough of that on the channel. I don't see anyone playing it though right now, but uh this is where they would be playing it. There were people playing it here yesterday. Looks like they're just playing the trick taking game.
Okay. And across here, let's go across. So, there's a giant giant opening here. This big big walkway. This is where the costume parade happens on Saturday. They all march down here through the whole convention center. Um but it's nice big wide walk-in space, so it's kind of easy to get around. I don't know what's happening here.
I don't know what those are. Cookie run. Cookie run. Braver the trading card game. Luma imports. Has tons of board gaming events. I've done some of those over here before for other companies. Got some round tables for larger games. And then all the tables are colorcoded. uh to tell you like what area they're in. So, for example, these guys are playing at Hall D Orange 13 and that helps you find events you're looking for. That also helps you if you're going to uh try to reserve a table in here, which sometimes you can do uh when publishers aren't using all of the space, which is usually in like the evening or sometimes in the afternoon. uh you can go to Event HQ in the hall and uh reserve a space and come and sit down and game and not be worried about being kicked off by a publisher.
So, pro tip, uh that that one was given to me by Janet uh shout out to Janet uh from our community for passing that one on to us a few years back. Yeah, lots of just random people sitting around doing stuff. Not a lot of events happening today compared to like a Friday or Saturday or even Thursday of the con, but you do have some sales happening here. Looks like there's some games being sold here at a Ravensburgger uh booth here by a little con area. We'll walk through there. Looks like Pastime Games also has a booth here, which we saw earlier in our Lucas Oil Stadium walkthrough video. We saw them have a booth out in the uh football stadium where all the magic's being played. Wonder if there's also stuff here being put.
Going to try to squeeze through here.
Excuse me.
And yeah, this Lorana. Oh no, there's some board games happening. Oh, Rabbinsburgger puzzles. It's like a puzzle contest. Are they speed puzzling? Dodge people everywhere.
Lots of people walking with their head down, staring at their phone.
Definitely ran into a few people doing that. I may have done that. I don't think I hit anybody. walking. Let's cut through here. So, we're approaching Warhammer's area. I'm assuming it's game work games workshop. Uh they got paint and take happening as you see there by the big banner hanging on the ceiling. Well, there is magic in here. Gathering point.
I thought that's what was happening.
Oh, yeah.
Magic is everywhere. So yeah, here's the paint and take happening.
Painting some space marines, some LAR. Cool. Cool. That looks sick. They got their own carpet, too. Look at that little walls. And that's the premium area. Only the cool people are allowed in, so I will not be going in there. Over here we got Avalon Hills area. All the red tables here. They got a booth out here selling games and stuff in the gaming hall. So even though you think you're buying all your stuff in the exhibit hall, yes, you can buy stuff in the gaming hall. And the gaming hall is open till 2 a.m. most nights. Uh today it's probably only open till like 4:00, whatever when the con ends. Let's check out what they're they're selling.
So the one you go pause the video. Cool. Cool. Have some sales here. All right. Then across the way, just more tables for the running events. If you're if you're doing like a demo event or a tournament, all that stuff's in here for the different games and different publishers. There's even one uh area I know of here called uh it's called like double exposure uh envoy. They basically just run events for other publishers. So, you can like have them just running tournaments or events for your games. There's the map. of their areas, I guess. And then here are some of the rooms just outside across the hall uh that I'm not going to walk through today, but uh we're just going to go through the gaming area. And that's not even all of it. That's just what is for these guys, some of their stuff. And there is the HQ.
You can see people lined up here to play the different events. Uh because again, they're running events for all different publishers. Look at that lineup. all trying to get registered.
Yeah, you can see tons of the games there on the racks. I won't walk up and down there, but yeah, there's many entrances and exits. There's one here, but there's some all along the back here. We went in one. And then right now, the gaming hall is open and connected to this hall. And you would have seen that in our uh exhibit hall walkthrough where uh they're connected while the exhibit hall is open.
Lu Luthier Luther I don't know how to say this. I'm probably saying it wrong. Cool.
All righty. So, yeah, tons of tables. Again, all color coded, making it easy to find where you got to be. Just look which hall you're in. So, you'll see the letters up on the outside of the halls. Kind of get an idea where you're at. There's also banners, yellow and black banners hanging up to tell you where you're at. And then you kind of just look for the color table under that banner. Or sometimes you can find nice banners like this that kind of make it super obvious what publisher or game system you're looking for. And there is I already passed it here. There is a concession stand. Uh as you can see quite lined up. Not the best food in the con, but one probably about the most convenient.
And
there you go. Just drinks and coffee and you know usual pizza and that kind of stuff. Uh convention food. Kind of similar to stuff at the stadium. Oh,
old King's Crown being played there. Okay, walk over here.
There is like a fudge vendor usually here. That's uh it's not it's not in the exhibit hall. It's kind of not in this hall. It's usually in between. Let's see here.
Oh, yeah. They are here. little little hidden vendor booth between the two halls. Sometimes you walk by and you don't even notice fudgy wedgie and looks like they're packing up and don't have much left. Oh, there's a big lineup here either for Hellbreak or I'm going to assume Kingdom Death Monster. Looks like Hellbreak though. Hellbreak. I've been hearing lots of good things about this card game during the con. It's been mentioned to me by a few people uh that I should give it a try, but I don't know if I want another TCG in my life right now. But it uh it's supposed to be really good
by some people that I know who I played card games with before. They're playing some Kingdom Death. And this little Kingdom Death area is not far from their booth we saw in the exhibit hall. Just right there.
There's some Hellb break and demoed on some fancy mats. Yeah, it's definitely a line up for Hellbreak. That's crazy. Probably just a demo it cuz you can't really They have a booth where like one one group can like kind of play it, but it looks like they have multiple rows out here in the gaming hall you can play it. More people lined up on this side.
Yeah, there's literally like 50 plus people just waiting to try it out. So, it's like one of those things. Maybe it's got like word of mouth going on. It got the buzz of the con. So, I feel it wasn't really packed over here before, but maybe I was wrong. It's one of those things. Sometimes it happens at the con where like Thursday and Friday, no one cares about a certain game or a certain publisher and then by the end word gets out and then everyone needs to try it before they leave. So that might make sense why it's super lined up and all the tables are packed right before the con ends. Oh, there's some tubaru bad karmas being played there.
I mean, like, it's I don't know how I can't stop at every table and see every game that's being played in every banner, but there is a lot. There is a lot. Then over here on the left side, I mean, we've got Cyberpunk TCG being played. Let's go take a look. Some rows and rows of people playing that game, too. TCGs be hot.
Walk back here. So you can see here for the publishers who spend a little more money, you can find them by just kind of looking for their big circular banner hanging above their tables. Makes it easier when you're running late for your event to find them. And it also draws people over to wonder what's going on. Clash of Clans. Galactic Cruise. That looks pretty. Oh, we got some Pokemons. Pokemons.
Okay, I'm going to skip all these tables down here, but I see Tycoon Games is some of their area, but there's these tables don't look like any events are really going on on them right now. It's just kind of random folks sitting around playing games and stuff, but uh you get the idea of those areas. I'm more drawn to the ones that spend the money on all the fancy stuff here. Squirrel.
Call to the deep. Got garden dragons down there. Whatever that is.
Oh, you can pledge on game found. So, I'm going to check out this whatever this is. Hall of Justice Resurrection Games. Is that Brave and the Bold?
Yeah. Yeah. I saw this on the preview list. Looks like they sell it over here. Not many left. I don't know if they have a booth in the exhibit hall. That's all a blur to me. a pallet.
For those that uh watched our walkthrough of the exhibit hall and saw all those cases, uh pallets all wrapped up of Game Makers uh that game called Game Makers, I should say. that huge giant game. Uh that was quite a buzz before the con as one of the only ways to get that game besides crowdfunding since it's supposedly not going to retail is what I was told. I went by today about 2 and 1 half hours ago and those two giant pallets are still sitting there plus more. There is a ton of them at that booth. So they did not sell as many as they thought, but I've never seen giant pallets of games in the exhibit hall just sitting on the floor before. So obviously they thought it was going to be hot, so they brought a bunch in and didn't care what it looked like at their booth. But uh yeah, they did not push as many unless unless in the last couple hours of the con a bunch of people decide to grab it cuz they're on their way out, which would make sense since it's so heavy.
But I just thought it was interesting as I ran by and almost bumped into them again uh a couple hours ago. So just a fun little uh fun little connection to that walkthrough. All right, what do we got here? Rush Rush of Icor trading card game. Yeah, lots of TCGs. I think they group like TCGs together out here. Usually in the past they've done that and then they'll they'll kind of put the board gaming publishers together and kind of put all the war tabletop wargaming stuff together, but then I know sometimes that gets moved out to uh Lucas Oil Stadium and then sometimes it gets moved back depending on what's going on and what publisher buys what space.
Are you a hero or are you a villain?
You bet it's your choice.
I guess I'll go with Upper Deck Games over here.
Oh, I know this game. We streamed this recently. Love me some uh Song of Ice and Fire IP. Some other games for sale out here in the gaming hall.
Bandai games. Doesn't look like much going on in these rows. It's a couple events going on. Again, we're near the end of the con though, so a lot of publishers don't start events this late. They're all just events kind of wrapping up. And then sometimes if you're running tournaments and stuff, you'll just kind of have your finals and stuff on Sunday. So, a lot of the players have already dropped from the tournament or been eliminated. And it's only a couple tables like playing, you know, at the end.
So, make sure you leave it
some kind of Gundam uh
tabletop war game looks like. Or
what is this?
Oh. Oh, Gundam card game. No, maybe. I don't know. Who knows? Who knows? We have giant tables smashed together with large player groups. I don't know what this is. All right.
Oh yeah. Overpower the card game is back from the '9s, but not with Marvel. They use an invincible and walking dead. I saw I was told to come here and get a demo deck by the publisher and I just remembered I should probably do that after I'm done this video cuz I used to collect that like Pokemon cards when I was when I was a young lad just cuz I love the Marvel art. Didn't really play the game though. Too busy playing Nintendo games at that time to mess around with card games. But oh, what's this back here? Let's check it out. Oh, they're cleaning up whatever it is. Lots of uh table terrain, but uh yeah. Wow.
The Emperor's Promise. Cool. Cool. Some Warhammer type thing maybe. Looks like it's a ship that attaches together and carries all their stuff. It's like little rolling carts. They're going to put everything away in those. That's pretty sick actually. And what do we got going over here? Riftbound. Looks like it's some Riftbound happening over here.
[snorts]
Legend League of Legends trading card game. Here's the hall B event HQ. So, it looks like there's like an event HQ for each hall, even though they're all kind of beside each other. But that's kind of neat.
Let's just go over here back to the giant pathway uh in the center that connects them all. Look like we got some Starcraft tabletop mini game over that way. Kind of just check out this little area. See, some people are cleaning up though already cuz the con is coming to a close actually. What time is it? Oh, still like an hour and a half away. But they probably have no events left. They're all done. Might as well start cleaning up. And we'll just do a little one last walk through on this side here. So, they got some more retail stuff happening out here where they do some demos, try to sell you some minis and some paints.
That's cool. Oh, they got foam padding on the floor to keep you around. So, you want to come and stand here so your feet can get a rest. not staining on all the cement, the painful painful cement, especially after walking on it for like five days all day for like 2600 steps at least every day.
Yeah, a lot of people just chilling over here, playing some games, eating their lunch, doing some painting, just chilling at the tables. But normally, if you came here on like Saturday afternoon, it' be like all tournaments and events here and to judges and volunteers teaching games, contractors and stuff, working for publishers, just trying to trying to get people to learn stuff, run events, and that kind of thing. But it's definitely more cleaned out today again last couple hours of the con. But it is nicer to film without so many people in the aisles and stuff and hard to get around. That's nice. But just give you an idea of the space, how large it is. This is the main like gaming area where I would say the most tables together of games being played. Lucas Oil close second. Maybe not that close, but Lucas Oil probably next. But there are other other areas as you've seen in the walkthroughs all around the con in the live streams in past years. Lots and lots of stuff being played all over the con in rooms, hallways, hotels. Hey, Incredible Dream. Oh man, I was looking for the Kinfire booth. Trying to get some uh Callus's lab and I just found it. All right, I can grab that before I leave the con. I looked in the exhibit hall. I couldn't find them. I didn't know they were here.
What we got here? Trials of Maya. Lot of red. Lot of red in that game. That's cool. The games being played which is B or Echo of Almonds. Over here we got Catalyst Game Labs. Some miniature wargaming cleaning up their area. Oh yeah, we go to the back here. This the final little area. We're going to walk through some battle tech. Love seeing all the tabletop miniature stuff. Just looks so cool. All the terrain people use and bring to the con. Definitely like is very eye-catching.
Oh, there's some cool stuff happening here.
Heroescape
by Renegade Games Studios.
Guess they're running some tournaments or events or something. Some painting down.
Oh, that's a lot of Heroescape train. Then over here, we got these like I don't know what it's called, but these Oh, Alpha Strike. Battletech Alpha Strike maybe. Bunch of little pods all connected playing some video game. All the players playing little cockpits. It's like a tradition to see that here at the con. I don't know how old that thing is, but when I see them lugging CRT monitors, I kind of think it's old. But uh still here. People still come and do it.
It's always somewhere at the con. I always find those pods. Uh but yeah.
But yeah. And so then after that happened, I
I didn't go down every aisle. I didn't look at every game. Didn't look at every banner. Didn't look at every color table. But we'll do one final shot here of the gaming hall.
There you go. That was your walk through of the Gen Con 2026 Gaming Hall in the Indiana Convention Center in downtown Indianapolis.
