Description

Draft dice and use the tools-of-the-trade in Sagrada to carefully construct your stained glass window masterpiece.

In more detail, each player builds a stained glass window by building up a grid of dice on their player board. Each board has some restrictions on which color or shade (value) of die can be placed there. Dice of the same shade or color may never be placed next to each other. Dice are drafted in player order, with the start player rotating each round, snaking back around after the last player drafts two dice. Scoring is variable per game based on achieving various patterns and varieties of placement...as well as bonus points for dark shades of a particular hidden goal color.

Special tools can be used to help you break the rules by spending skill tokens; once a tool is used, it then requires more skill tokens for the other players to use them.

The highest scoring window artisan wins!

Quotes (from this video)
  • A board game, really any board game, has two jobs, two responsibilities, checkboxes it has to tick in order to be worth its weight in gold in order for it to take up space on your shelf in order for you to pay any attention to it at all. It needs to be fun. I mean, that's category number one.
  • And playable means a lot of things in a lot of different seasons of life.
  • The playable part seems to take more and more center stage, more and more relevance.
  • So I've pulled together a list of the 12 board games in my permanent collection. the games that I consider fixtures in my hobby space that are extremely playable that I am not intimidated almost in any situation to pull off the shelf, teach to a new gamer, teach to an experienced gamer that I think we're going to continue and always continue having, owning, getting to the table and having a good time playing.
  • Whatever the case though, whatever you do, remember to do the important thing. Pick games to own that are both fun and playable and preferably start with the letter C if you can.
  • You're wrong. The reason why everyone knows them, at least the modern ones, is because they're fun.

  • The deluxe edition is just a freaking triumph [snorts] of production. Beautiful beautiful game.
  • This is a very cool production. It looks like a book.
  • Really clever game in that it uses this idea of you place multiple workers down on each space that you do and that determined who gets to act first. And then all the worker placement spots activate in order.
  • It is the most generic name with the most beige-y generic looking boards. But really good.
  • It's not a flip and write game but it's basically a flip and write game except instead of writing you have little cubes you're putting out. Rules for almost everything and the s- stick is it has this beautiful cardboard scenery. I mean beautiful scenery.
  • This is not one that's like a Tales from the Red Dragon Inn or a Wanderer's Cult of Barnacle Bay that I'm like, 'Okay, yeah, get this to the table.' This is one that I'm going to play by myself a lot.
  • I really like adventure card games. I don't really care about Cthulhu. So, I'm curious how this is going to drive for me.
  • And he [clears throat] loved it. He played it multiple times at the con. And so, now I'm extra excited to play this game.
  • This is a game that was my honorable mention game of the year two years ago as kind of like my heavier than normal game for me that I thought was really really good.

  • There's that thing of keys up there, but that doesn't require the thumbnail thing.
  • It's timeline.
  • It's timeline. It's not going to be date. Okay.
  • I'm out cuz I have no idea what the subject is.

  • Different pins or the magnets as well.
  • That's the refrigerator.

  • That's the pins.
  • What's this? Difference.
  • Oh, we have more of these.

  • Oh here.
  • Okay. Well, we start with shelf first, right? Then we got to know the row and then we would go.
  • So yeah, let's pin wall.
  • Well, regardless, we don't have these.
  • Yeah, we do. That's actually right over there by the Yeah, that's an odd one. I wonder if that's Did you guys do a second? A second code.
  • No, the queen did it. I already know.
  • Oh, hey. Can I have that? Is that your QR code?
  • QR code.
  • See a QR code back there.
  • Oh my gosh. Way to pay attention.
  • I FOUND THE QUEEN.
  • Does anybody else have a There's an A in the back, too. I shouldn't be playing this game.
  • Give me Okay, here we go. Let me try and see if this is a word. Okay. Yep. A R C T. Is that a word?
  • No. So far, all I'm seeing is different. This is different.
  • And this is different.
  • So, it's definitely There's two sentinels up there. One got moved over there.
  • I think we can take out the vase. There might be a clue attached to it. the dice tower in one or more of the symb.
  • Oh no.
  • Let me move this sentinel over here. Swear it has other things.
  • Actually, I think it means that this is not actually a clue.
  • Actually, this is a something. So, it's got to be like this.
  • Got it.
  • So, A and then uh G, A M Mama. Yeah. E game again. Perfect.
  • 13 shelf probably.
  • Yeah, that's the same sticker that we use for the library shelves. So, let's go to 13.
  • N E Dain Glass. Is that G Slass windows? Yes. Stained glass windows.
  • Crazy.
  • Joey.
  • Oh, Wendy over there.
  • Joey, you did the pin, right? The queen.
  • Yeah, I did.
  • What did the queen say?
  • Hey. Hey.
  • Yeah. Hot thing.
  • So, which is No, we figured it out first.
  • What game is it?
  • Oh, and Wendy, what was on the pin? It was one of these papers. It was supposed to be the difference. We needed for that.
  • Yeah.
  • Did we find Sakra? I thought I stole I got the wrong game.
  • You're like, what? Somebody stole.
  • So, what did we just scare the pin? Wendy, where was the pin that you found? This had 13. It has a 13.
  • A different pen.
  • I paper. I was like, "Oh, that's what I needed."
  • That's supposed to be related to the game.
  • What the heck am I doing here? Uh, is there a reason I'm doing this?
  • The taper was attached to this.
  • Okay. What do you What do you think is happening here?
  • I think you're doing great.
  • Is this escape room sponsored by Sacrada?

  • Got a lot of friends.
  • 24 wine. Hold on. 24 A3.
  • I'm missing an orange.
  • 24 A and it's game number 13.
  • Very, very cute.
  • I like how we have disdain for something that's actually What was it you guys? It was an aliens escape from aliens in outer space, which Yeah. Oh, boy. Oh, boy.
  • Oh, yes. Oh, yes.
  • Okay. Does that look right? be related to because this has some type of symbology on it. The difference lines matter.
  • Lines matter.
  • Tap it out like Morse code.
  • It could be. That's that's um art gallery or art society. It has a nine on the back which seems pretty telling.
  • We put all this here. We have just done that.
  • We wouldn't have needed the dice. The dice are irrelevant. If it was toast, father and son.
  • Do we do we know librarian what shelf campus is on off hand?
  • It's on one shelf.
  • Let's wait and see if more stuff surfaces.
  • So, art society's B shelf.
  • The last one was picture game with pictures which is huge.
  • And this guy doesn't match up anything yet, right?
  • Wait, is this where uh this is art society? So, it's on a B.
  • Keep an eye on Joey. He likes to come around and paw at it like a cat.
  • You're not wrong. So, are you using my name in vain?
  • No. Crazy an accolade.
  • Yeah. Art Society was on B. this.
  • Did we ask a clue?
  • Oh, wait. That's the same thing. So, I don't know what that matters.
  • Wait a second. Joey, you're a genius.
  • Boom. Hear that, Camila? Where? She's gone during that. Repeat it when she comes back.
  • Hey, guys. Yeah. Not you. You're stacking clear things. And there's the there's the black dots. So, I want to do the black dot.
  • Okay. I didn't see those.
  • No, it doesn't quite line up with the red.
  • Does it say Tech 9? I wonder if you take them in the opposite order.
  • I have a T-Mobile ring.
  • I don't change it.
  • Wow.
  • Let's cut. Let's cut to that.
  • This is how I'm judged.
  • Hey, Joey, you got a fax coming through.
  • Live like a waffle is what that says.
  • Hello.
  • Help humans. Do you hear me?
  • Nope.
  • Use all dice.
  • Yeah, use all dice. What are you doing?
  • This is the front.
  • We have to use the extra dice.
  • This is the one that's got me here because of that E. But I don't think anything else seems to be like there's a lot of and also it's just a very big coincidence that shelf has five symbols, game has four symbols and row has three.
  • Humans, can you hear me? Find the games in the transparent bags.
  • Okay, let's get the game. So, art society picture. Yeah, they were all in the same for them.
  • Am I on the wrong shelf? Art Society is No, not Art Society was like over I think it's on it's one over here.
  • What's the oneonone?
  • I got Art Society, too.
  • Mike's doing all the actual stuff here.
  • And we just need uh canvas, right?
  • That's interesting. I didn't see anything in our society before. I thought fridge.
  • Fridge. Good.
  • I like that place.
  • Black dot. Thin fridge. Tiny fridge.
  • Tiny fridge. Tiny fridge. A tiny fridge.
  • Oh, there's a there's a chest back here. We're going to need a key that we don't have, I think.
  • But there was a number on the front of the picture.
  • Yeah. So, this it can't be a six then cuz six is missing.
  • Crap. That doesn't work.
  • That doesn't work.
  • Yeah, we know, Tom. It's three digits.
  • 416.
  • Okay. fly.
  • We'll try Let's try 416.
  • I said we just start checking every game.
  • Hey, we got it, guys.
  • Wait, what?
  • I found him in this first try.
  • All right, so here we go. Pie pieces.
  • Hi.
  • And QR code. That is the coldest QR code I've ever had in my life. Are we still one is working? Well, should we try this?
  • That's usually on the bottom. No, it's not.
  • Oh, it's going to be very important later.
  • Does that do that? Yep.
  • Got it. Oh my god.
  • Oh wow.
  • Oh 42. There is these are blank on the back, right? I think it could be something like that's that's why I think it's like this. It's like this. We just need that. We need that one.
  • Yeah. Maybe Z was right with the vase there. Right there. Let's go.
  • Oh my gosh. Found it the whole time. I've got a phone. Oh, you made fun of my phone. My phone's not scanning anything.
  • What's going to do this? There we go.
  • Oh, hats. Hats. All right. So, it it has an order. Okay. Yes. Has an order.
  • We're going right. We've got this hat right here.
  • It's gone. It's out of there.
  • Chicken set a hat for Oh, they want this order. Maybe try to throw them down more aggressively. No, maybe you're right. Maybe we do these first and then I think these are those hats.
  • That could No.
  • Oh, you can move stuff.
  • This is really just Tom getting us to organize his hats.
  • Yes.
  • So, does this does this go here? Does it go on top of the hat? That imagines.
  • Let's get all brains together for this. These can move around. Okay. These are clearly spots on the wall. I don't know if this is an order.
  • Looking at the order.
  • Okay. Yeah. I think we need to move them to where they are.
  • Okay. Move to where they are.
  • Okay. Okay.
  • So, if we try to do that for all of them.
  • Okay. A light.
  • Yeah. I think that is that one.
  • Got it. Activate.
  • Activate. Ah. Go here. Go here. Gamer sign. Gamer sign. Everyone run over Emry.
  • Oh god. Run. Nimble like a cat.
  • Jack. It does come off. Oh boy. That's never working again. It doesn't work now. Oh, good.
  • It came off.
  • Is there any number on there? like a little number sticker or anything.
  • It didn't say take it off the wall. So maybe it said take it off. Go in the room. Maybe it's in the room.
  • Costic burn.
  • I left the light on.
  • You're a small gamer.
  • So that's probably hotel. If I'm not out in 2 minutes, just wait a little longer. I'm really stupid.
  • Why you closing the door?
  • Good for you. Leave now.
  • No, there's nothing in here. I don't know.
  • There was nothing on the back where your hand is. The other one. There's nothing written there. No.
  • No. These are just from Hobby Lobby. No.
  • Let's go to Hobby Lobby.
  • On and off button.
  • Is it down below it on the floor? What was it pointing?
  • On the table. Something about the table.
  • Humans, can you hear me? Inside the room on the table.
  • Hey, I found a thing. It was sitting there right in front of you.
  • Wow. I'm never in that room ever.
  • Okay. Do we have a three-digit code? 042.
  • No. I think this is it. I think this is the game right here. This is it.
  • I'm feeling it.
  • It's a spaceship in there. Portal in there.
  • Okay. It's a TV remote and a coupon to Sears. Oh, that's out of date, I think.
  • Press the power button to close the portal.
  • Oh, yeah. Done.
  • Why did the aliens have to start there? That's right. the portal right away.
  • The aliens knew where this was the whole time.
  • Also, we found this, you guys. Um, I've been looking for that.
  • Really? That's the first along the way. I think I'm the reason why that's been there.
  • Also, that's a really nice room. I don't think I've ever been in there.
  • Yeah. This whole thing was for you to discover that room. It also looks like a Bluetooth speaker.
  • Yeah, I missed it. Some computer thing. It's a huge thing. Nothing in here.
  • Right. Right. Right.
  • There's a light on it. It would have been nice if they could have like sent us some advanced technology instead of like pieces of paper and yeah QR code.
  • Right. I won't be visiting your planet basic level stuff.
  • That's right.
  • Put my lunch in that.
  • What is the cash reward for the person who actually pressed the button to close? Oh asking for a friend.
  • Keep the goo.
  • That's the gift that keeps on giving. lunch.
  • That's actually I need that cleaning goo that you can put and you like crack your car and it pulls out the dirt.
  • Oh, I need this. More goo.
  • There's goo everywhere, guys.
  • Oh my goodness.
  • I'm going to throw this out there. They're still filming. We might not be done.
  • No, you're done.
  • We might be in a simulation.
  • Wait, that is it squatching? It is. It is a body.
  • Oh, this is what we all look like on the inside.
  • Oh, it's a freaky alien. Is that the alien? I think we were supposed to undo it at the front.
  • Good job, Elena.
  • Stick your tongue out. Yeah. Yeah.
  • Oh, disgusting. You still want it back.
  • Nothing good is coming from that.
  • Can you reach that?
  • Go. Oh, that's disgusting.
  • Look really cool. It's cleaning all the dirt out of Chris's crevices right now. You'd be nasty. My pores are going to look great in the morning. M. This should be on a dermatologist YouTube channel.

  • Oh, Dr. Pimple Popper, can you help?
  • Oh, there's definitely there's definitely more. Yeah.
  • Did we do it? How long did it take us? You can have it back on. 14 minutes.
  • I'm not thrilled about this part. I got to tell you, it doesn't get better the more you play with it.
  • We did 2 minutes better.
  • Yeah. Boom. 2 minutes better than all your faces.
  • But they needed more help. More clues. Edit that out. I want that stricken.
  • We don't need your honor.
  • The only clue that bothered me is that we already had all the QR code pieces.
  • Yeah. Yeah. That was probably your fault though, right? Can't imagine it can't be.

  • A game can top every ranking, win every award, sell out every print run, and still sit on your table and leave you completely cold.
  • A game being widely loved does not mean it was built for you.
  • Your table is not our table.
  • If we are hard on a game you adore, that is a data point about us, not a verdict on you.
  • Race for the Galaxy instead.

  • Effectively, Spirit Island is something that the rights to a lot of the things are held by Flat River Group, but the right to the game itself, he has.

  • Because Awaken Realms is one of the fascinating companies. Like they have they are responsible. They get they they kind of moved into the Seeman problem where people love to hate to an extent, but people love to hate they How to put this?
  • My own two cents here um is that when a company is successful, they either can be comple- or individuals. Individuals, companies, whoever, they can either be like almost completely pure of heart and then they earn a lot of respect for being completely pure of heart.
  • But because they've been so successful, you fall into that range of almost some groups of people will love to hate them even as they continue to put out things that are massively popular and have huge audiences and they're clearly delivering things to people who want those things.
  • I think the complaints people do have are legitimate. I think they're often over-magnified because of the success of those companies, and I think those complaints often ignore the very large groups of people who are fans of those companies and enjoy what those companies put out and do not have the same issues you do.

  • It's very easy to grok that you want to put your goals out first and then get the resources, but it's so hard to implement until you played it a couple of times.
  • I really enjoy this game. I like teaching it because it's one of those lighter strategy games that really get people into the mindset or into trying heavier strategy games.
  • And it is so much fun to just watch people act like they don't care initially about whatever green team. And then like when they're winning like I have I have 17 points.
  • I like teaching heavy games when it's very logical.
  • The fun thing about Settlers is that you only are teaching kind of like 70% of the game because when the aliens come out, they have their own set of rules, and you cannot teach them until they actually show up.
  • But if you're a hobbyist it's like this like when can we play this again? It's It is so my wheelhouse. It's not even funny.

  • You can add and take away uh the amount of rules that you use on the cards and stuff to make it a little bit easier. So, I feel like you can kind of scale this as well.
  • And it's just super fun. And uh I think the fact that it's just purely a puzzle game is also going to be easier to get into than like a lot of theme.
  • Turnip is a uh a little card game that is all about like bluffing.
  • It's also got weird like Renaissance art, but with carrots and bunnies. It's very cute.
  • This one you just have a tile in the center of the table and you start building out the map as you go. That's really unique.
  • And because you're working together, you get the satisfaction of like building out tiles so the landscape makes sense and adding some strategy, but the ability to talk about what you think is best uh in a cooperative way.
  • So, if I'm thinking for a new W gamer, um, man, I think I'm gonna pick it. This might be a little too heavy, but I'm gonna go for it.

  • five games in 30 minutes is back we got very exciting games today from after us so brother Addison's a great legacy and we've got herd mentality woolies and Beacon Patrol yes so we're going to take you quickly through them all and give you a review
  • It's clever simple rule set the on the downside potentially if you have an alpha player that would want to control no I want that tiles give me that tiles or I don't know no you have to put it here you have to put it here you know but that is true all the information is public so you just have to make sure that you're playing that appropriately
  • I love tech building and this one is such a great one now this is a bit of multiplayer Solitaire where everyone has got their own puzzle but everyone also trying to work out what's the optimum strategy
  • It is a very very solitary game the really the interaction between players is pretty trivial in this game
  • if however you are the only person who has an odd out answer so if you stand apart from the crowd and no other player stands apart from the crowd you get the pink cow
  • I personally don't feel this Stacks up very well as a party game because I always I think for me the fun in a party game is trying to be creative and trying to find something obscure I understand that tarent so for me a game like this where I'm trying to get the most common answer it's actually quite dull for me.
  • This is so bad what is this anyways
  • Turning it into a rolling right that's that's a big step back for me.
  • I found that the time I spent coloring things in between my turns there was just a lot of it's not downtime per se but it's just upkeep time so I you know so rather was a game that for me it was always just fine I never loved it I didn't dislike it it was just kind of an average game and then this introduces a number of things that just slows it down and boils it down for me so I didn't really didn't really enjoy it
  • I do like also the first player marker it is a pencil sharpener the shape of the grudder.
